I'm guessing that by that you mean space for several lines, not empty paragraphs. This could be caused by any number of things, but not allowing hyphenation, or hyphantion rules that are too restictive might cause ID to be unable to break a line which would cause it to go into overset, as would possibly some combinations of Keep Options if there is more than one paragraph in the cell or if there is not enough room to fite the entire paragraph and you are just one line short with keep options requiring at least two lines be kept together at the end, for example. Applying No Break to a sting too wide for the cell would do it too.

  • How to use the Table Function defined  in package in OWB?

    Hi,
I defined a table function in a package. I am trying to use that in owb using Table function operator. But I came to know that, owb R1 supports only standalone table functions.
Is there any other way to use the table function defined in a package. As like we create synonyms for functions, is there any other way to do this.
I tryed to create synonyms, it is created. But it is showing compilation error. Finally I found that, we can't create synonyms for functions which are defined in packages.
Any one can explain it, how to resolve this problem.
    Thank you,
    Regards
    Gowtham Sen.

    Hi Marcos,
    Thank you for reply.
OWB R1 supports stand alone table functions. Here what I mean is, the table fucntion which is not inculded in any package is a stand alone table function.
    for example say sample_tbl_fn is a table function. It is defined as a function.It is a stand alone function. We call this fucntion as "samp_tbl_fn()";
For exampe say sample_pkg is a package. say a function is defined in a package.
then we call that function as sample_pkg.functionname(); This is not a stand alone function.
    I hope you understand it.
    owb supports stand alone functions.
Here I would like to know, is there any other way to use the functions which are defined in package. While I am trying to use those functions (which are defined in package -- giving the name as packagename.functionname) it is throwing an error "Invalid object name."
Here I would like know, is there any other way to use the table functions which are defined in a package.
    Thank you,

  • How to edit a particular row in the table ctrl when a push button is clickd

    Hi Experts,
How to edit a particular row (except the Primary keys) after selecting it in the TABLE CONTROL when a
push button is clicked in the table control.
For Eg. If you have a push button say "Modify", the particular row what we select in the table control should be in a
editable mode after clicking "Modify" Push button.
    Please help me out.
    Thanks in advance.

    Hey Ram,
    Thanks a ton.
Its working fine...sorry for the late reply.
The reason behind the delay is because i had modified my code as per your logic it worked fine but the thing is that the whole column was in editable mode but not a single row.
For E.g  If i want to edit a particular row, first i select the row and then  click on "Modify" button. After i click on the button, the whole column gets in a editable mode including the one which i intentionally selected.
Here, the solution is that you have to set a flag in PBO so that once it is done with PBO then it need not come back again after we click on "Modify" button.
And one more query is that after you modify a particular row in the table control ( When it is in editable mode) and click on the "Save" button, it is not getting updated to database.
To update the database, we need to select the row once again after modifying it and click on the "Save" button.
Here, database is updating only when it is selected again. If it is not selected, it is not getting updated.
If you have any alternative solution, then please help me out.( I hope i am clear with the question.)
    Thanks,
    Ananth.

  • What are the tables will update while loading Master data ?

    Hello Experts,
What are the tables will update while loading Master data ? And requesting you to provide more information about Master data loading and its related settings in the beginning of creation infoobjects.

It depends upon the type of Master data u r loading....
In all the master data loadings, for every new value of master data an SID will be created in the SID table /BI*/S<INFOOBJECT NAME> irrespective of the type of master data.
But the exceptional tables that get updated depending on the type of master data are.....
If it is a time Independent master data then the /BI*/P<INFOOBJECT NAME> table gets updated with the loaded data.
If it is a time dependent master data then the /BI*/Q<INFOOBJECT NAME> table gets updated with the loaded data.
If the master data is of time Independent Navigational attributes then for every data load the SID table will get updated first and then the /BI*/X<INFOOBJECT NAME> table gets updated with the SID's created in the SID table (NOT WITH THE MASTER DATA).
If the master data is of time dependent navigational attributes then for every data load the SID table will get updated first and then the /BI*/Y<INFOOBJECT NAME> table gets updated with the SID's created in the SID table (NOT WITH THE MASTER DATA).
NOTE: As said above, For all the data in P, Q, T, X, Y tables the SID's will be created in the S table /BI*/S<INFOOBJECT NAME>
NOTE: Irrespective of the time dependency or Independency the VIEW /BI*/M<INFOOBJECT NAME> defined on the top of /BI*/P<INFOOBJECT NAME> & /BI*/Q<INFOOBJECT NAME> tables gives the view of entire master data.
NOTE: it is just a View and it is not a Table. So it will not have any physical storage of data.
All the above tables are for ATTRIBUTES
But when it comes to TEXTS, irrespective of the Time dependency or Independency, the /BI*/T<INFOOBJECT NAME> table gets updated (and of course the S table also).
    Naming Convention: /BIC/*<InfoObject Name> or /BI0/*<InfoObject Name>
    C = Customer Defined Characteristic
0 = Standard or SAP defined Characteristic
    * = P, Q, T, X,Y, S (depending on the above said conditions)
    Thanks & regards

  • What is the name of the table for finding user exit !

What is the table name to find the user exit !

    Hi,
Goto to the table tstc and enter the transaction code for
which u want to find out the User-Exits. Check out the
program name from the result. Goto SE38 and dee that
program in display mode. Then search for the string Call
Cutomer-Funtion. All the result of search are the user
exits defined there for that transaction.
SAP user exits (enhancement names that we see in SMOD transaction) are all stored in the table MODSAP. The field NAME contains the enhancement name and the field MEMBER contains the name of the function module that will be called if the customer enhancement exists and is active. The customer enhancement projects are stored in the table MODACT. There, the NAME field is the name of the project and MEMBER is the name of SAP enhancement (that from the MODSAP).
So, if you are in some include, you can use where-used-list to get to the function module name. Then you find the SAP enhancement name from the MODSAP by supplying the function module. And finally, you find the customer enhancement projects by querying the MODACT with the SAP enhancement in the field MEMBER.
    cheers,
    vasavi.
    kindly reward if helpful.

I don't know the table names. Why not? Surely you should have some idea of what tables there are, the database model used, and what entities you are updating via the UI?
But I want to know the tables that are updated becoz of inserting a records
any data dictionary tables that consist of information that in so and so table one more record got inserted? Not really. You can look at the open cursors for the Oracle session being serviced by that UI (and view the SQLs being used). A more accurate method is to enable SQL tracing for the server session of that UI and have a complete and accurate trace of all SQLs it is generating.
Depending on the client code (even binary), it can contain the SQL statements it uses as data strings - making it a fairly simply job of looking at the executable code itself for the SQLs it contain.
The database interface that the UI uses can also likely be configured for tracing. For example, if it uses ODBC then the ODBC driver can be configured for tracing and the trace file will contain all the calls made by the UI to ODBC, including the SQL source statements used.
