What is purpose of Shipping APIs and advantages oveer ship confirm interface

Any body has idea about these shipping APIs like
WSH_TRIPS_PUB /WSH_DELIVERIES_PUB ???? At One time you can enter
only one record through API (Like One time only one trip info
can enter) ,so the same can be done though Transaction Window ??
so why should i go for ship confirm API?what are the advantages?
I am not able to find much information about it.
If any one has idea about it ,pls let me know.

There is no other supported way to bring shipping information
from an external system into 11i without using the API's. There
were shipping interfaces prior to 11i but they are now
desupported and only the API's are supported.
It is taking a step back but ....

  • What are the differences between api and sdk

    Hi,
    Could anybody clarify for me what are the difference between API and SDK? I googled for the answer, and couldn't find any thing on this topic.
    Many thanks in advance.

    Is it correct to say that "a SDK includes all the
    APIs"? or "API sits on top of the SDK"?It's a bit weird to say either. First, the JDK doesn't include all APIs. Just the J2SE core API. Others, like 3rd party libraries or J2EE are not included. Second, if you mean the API docs, they're also not included IIRC.
    It'd technically only be correct to say "the SDK provides an API", I guess. The example is very lame, but: if the SDK is a machine, the API is the sum of its buttons and levers and gauges and intakes and outlets and exhausts. The API docs are the manual.

  • API and Database updates

    Greetings!
    I've searched the archives for the forum and I can't find anything relating to my issue, so hopefully someone will have an idea of how I can get started on a new project.
    I have an SQL database that contains a row for each hour of each day. Every row contains a date (obviously for every one day there are 24 rows), an hour interval (1:00pm), the day of the month, the day of the week (Saturday), the Meridian, the Military time conversion (13:00), the week of the year, etc. This database is used for reporting purposes and it runs out of rows as of next week. I have been tasked with adding enough rows to last us another 2 years, which is about 17,000 rows.
    My colleague mentioned that I might be able to find what I need in the API and then write a little Java program that interfaces with my database to update the rows. Being completely new, I'm a little unsure as to how to go about researching this.
    I did poke in the API and I found the DateFormat class in the java.text package. It seems to have just about everything I need except for the military conversion.
    Does anyone have any thoughts on how I could use this class to write out these future rows to the database? One thing I should mention is that each row has a unique row-identifier that increments sequentially.
    If I have been unclear, please let me know and I will try to clarify. Any help or a nudge in the right direction would be greatly appreciated!
    Thank you!

    Java can acces SQL databases through JDBC. Here is a
    JDBC tutorial that can help you get started:
    http://java.sun.com/docs/books/tutorial/jdbc/index.htm
    i have looked at this tutorial yet there is a problem that i cant really deal with:-
    * am using net beans (windows xp), mysql server, and j/connector driver.
    * in net beans, in the RealTime Tab i can access my database in MySQL, but every time i write my code (in java)so i can connect with it and manipulate its tell me :
    SQLException: No suitable driver
    SQLState: 08001
    VendorError: 0
    my question is why can i access my database through 'Databases' in 'RealTime' tab, and not be able to make a simple connection with it when i run a simple code like this:
    import java.sql.Connection;
    import java.sql.DriverManager;
    import java.sql.SQLException;
    public class LoadDriverP {
    public static void main(String[] args) {
    try {
    Class.forName("com.mysql.jdbc.Driver");
    } catch (Exception ex) {
    // handle the error
    try {
    Connection conn = DriverManager.getConnection("jdbc:mysql://localhost:3306/world"," user", "pass");
    // Do something with the Connection
    } catch (SQLException ex) {
    // handle any errors
    System.out.println("SQLException: " + ex.getMessage());
    System.out.println("SQLState: " + ex.getSQLState());
    System.out.println("VendorError: " + ex.getErrorCode());
    could it be anything to do with CLASSPATH if it is please tell me what is this CLASSPATH and how can i change it.
    any help would be greatly apreaciated.

  • What is the exact purpose of Transaction NACE and NAST Table?

    Hi All,
    What is the exact purpose of Transaction NACE and NAST Table?
    Pls help me…
    Akshitha.

    Hi
    When a Output type in an apllication doc is configured with a Medium, Partner, Lang and other communication paramters an entry is created in NAST table
    so to trigger the output an entry in NAST is compulsory
    Output is a link between the Driver Program and the Sapscript,
    An output type summarizes messages of the same meaning. It contains parameters that are valid for all its assigned messages, for example appropriate partner functions.
    Transmission medium is a medium which the layout will be come out, this may be printout, Fax or Mail
    Check this link.
    http://help.sap.com/saphelp_nw2004s/helpdata/en/c8/19884743b111d1896f0000e8322d00/content.htm
    ex-how to config output type.
    You will assign output types using Transaction NACE.
    Do the follow steps to assign output type
    1)Select Application Type V2 which will have description Shipping.
    2)Click on Output types button.
    3)Go to change mode by pressing Ctrl+F4.
    4)Select one output type which already exists
    5)Do Copy As(F6)
    6)Give your output type against Output Type field.
    7)Under General data Tab, Give Program and Form routine and Save the data.
    i think it a work of functional guy but at senior level i think it is not a big deal for abaper.
    Check the following documentation
    In NACE t-codewe have the application for each one. based on the application output type can be defined, based on output type script and print progrma can be defined.
    If suppose data can be read from EDI then we should go for condition records.
    So whenever we execute the script first composer checks the output type and then execute the program. in program whenever opn form FM will be populate then script will open first. After that again program till another FM will populate if it then script will populate........like it is cycle proces. Composer does all these things and at last it will submit that output to spool.
    Go to the Transaction NACE.
    choose the related sub module.. like billing or shipping
    doubel click on Output Types
    Choose the Output Type for which whcih you wanted your script to trigger
    Then select the Output Type and double click on Processing Routine
    Then go to create new entries--> Select the Medium (1- print output), then enter your Script and Print Program detls --> Save and come out
    Now go to the Transaction (for which you have created the output type)... Issue output--> Select the output type --> Print....
    Device Types for SAP Output Devices (Detail Information)
    Definition
    The device type indicates the type of printer to be addressed. When you define an output device, choose the name of the device type that was defined in the SAP System for your printer model, such as Post2 for a PostScript printer. In the case of frontend printing under Microsoft Windows, you can also use the generic (device-independent) device type SWIN.
    The system uses the information in the device type to convert a document from the internal SAP character representation (spool request in OTF or in text format) to a device-specific, print-ready data stream (output request). Since a device type specifies attributes that apply to all devices of a certain model, it can be shared among device definitions. For example, all devices in the SAP spool system that are compatible with Hewlett-Packard LaserJet IIID printers would use the HPLJIIID device type.
    You should not confuse the device type with the printer driver. The device type is the total of all attributes of an output device that the SAP System must know to control the output device correctly, such as control commands for font selection, page size, character set selection, and so on. These attributes also include the printer driver that SAPscript/Smart Forms (the SAP form processor) should use for this printer. The SAPscript printer driver that is to be used for devices of this type for output formatting is therefore only an attribute that the device type specifies.
    How do I choose the correct device type?
    • In most cases, the SAP System already provides the appropriate device type for the printer type for the printer model that you want to use.
    These standard device types are completely defined and need no modification or extension before you use them in device definitions.
    • You can also download missing device types from the sapserv server. For a current list of the supported device types, see SAP Note 8928 in the SAP Service Marketplace.
    • Most printers can be controlled using a generic format, such as PostScript. They can be switched to a mode that is compatible with one of the standard printers for which an SAP device type is available. In this case, a supported model is emulated.
    • Almost all printers are delivered with Microsoft Windows printer drivers. The system can control these printers with the generic (device-independent) device type SWIN. The Microsoft Windows spool system then performs the processing of the print data.
    • If the specified device types are not available, and generic device types cannot be used, you must create your own device type or edit a copy of an existing device type. We recommend that only those with specialist knowledge of the SAP Spool System and printer driver code do this. For more information, see Defining a New Device Type .
    Attributes of a Device Type
    A device type is distinguished by the attributes listed below. If you change an existing device type or create a new device type, you must change at least some of these attributes.
    • Character set: A character set specifies the codes with which characters must be represented in the print-ready output stream (output request). This code replaces the generic SAP characters set that is used internally by the SAP spool system (spool request).
    • Printer driver: You can specify different printer drivers for printing SAPscript documents and ABAP lists.
    • Print controls: Print controls represent printer operations, such as boldface or changing the font size. These print control are replaced by printer-specific commands during the creation of the output request from a spool request.
    • Formats: Formats specify the format supported by the SAP system. The system differentiates between SAPScript formats (DINA4 and LETTER) and ABAP list formats (X_65_132 = 65 rows/132 columns).
    • Page format: A page format is the interface between a format and SAPscript. It specifies the paper dimensions with which SAPScript can calculate the row and column lengths.
    • Actions: Actions are output device-specific commands that are required for the implementation of a format. The action printer initialization, for example, can contain a printer command with which the number of rows on a page is defined. There is a set of actions for every format supported by a device type.

  • What is the purpose  of Date From and Date To In Oracle HRMS ?

    hi
    I have doubt on
    What is the purpose of Date From and Date To In Oracle HRMS?
    Thanks

    Where do you see these fields? Please give full details (eg, the navigation path).
    If you're referring to Effective Start Date and Effective End Date (effective_start_date, effective_end_date) these are two fields that appear on many HRMS entities. They're used to store dated history over time. For example:
    14-Jan-2009 to 19-Apr-2009 - Pam Stephens
    20-Apr-2009 to date - Pam Erickson
    In this example Pam got married on the 20th April 2009 and changed her surname from Stephens to Erickson. Here the history of changes are kept so that if we date-track to any time prior to the 20th April 2009 we'll see Pam Stephens and if we date-track on or after the 20th April 2009 we'll see Pam Erickson.
    Check out the following Oracle Support article for more information:

  • Need API Name for PIck Release and Ship Confirm for WMS Module

    Hi All,
    One if my requirement is that Initially I will create Internal Sales Order and send to the other system (legacy) there they do the shipping then they provide the flat file which contains shipping information. Based on the incoming file I will close the order. Here they are using the WMS to process the pick release and ship confirm.
    Can any one please help me how to do pick release and ship confirm by using an API or Interface in WMS. If knows please provide the name of the API's and flow.
    Thanks,
    Prasanna

    For external orders we have a solution on WMS_DEVICE_CONFIRMATION_PUB api.
    may be you have done pick release using this api in WMS enabled organizations. After pick release
    you can use WSH api to do Ship Confirm.

  • What is the difference between private API and public API??

    Hi,
    I came accross the terms private API and Public API ?
    what are these APIs and what is the difference between them??
    Thanks and Regards,
    Soham

    Soham,
    Publicly Callable Business Process APIs are the list of supported and published APIs. Direct calls to any other routines are not supported, unless explicitly specified, because API validation and logic steps will be bypassed. Many other packages include procedures and functions, which may be called from the API code itself.

  • What is the main difference between view and materialize view and advantage of Mview   ??

    What is the main difference between view and materialize view and advantage of Mview   ??

    1.A view uses a query to pull data from its associated tables.
    2.Views do not have data's physically stored in the Database.
    3.Views Get the Data from 2 or more tables and displays as a single block.
    4.But a materialized view is a table on disk is a result set of a query done.
    5.A Materialized view can have data's in the database.
    6.Materialized view are used for Boosting the Performance.
    7.And the important one is Materialized views are updated based on the parameters defined when they are created.
    8.By using triggers we can update the data in a materialized view.
    9.When you call a materialized view it will show the data when it was last updated.
    Hope it helps.

  • What is the relationship of javatv api,jmf api and mhp api ?

    Whether all these three set of API are required to write digital tv program?

    That depends on what the digital TV program (I assume you mean MHP application) wants to do. Specifically;
    - javax.tv.xlet.Xlet is needed whatever you want to do.
    - Most of the rest of JavaTV is only needed if you want to write an electronic program guide, e.g. to get at service information.
    - If you want to write a program which manipulates the video & audio of the TV signal then you need the JMF API and also a small part of javax.tv.service.selection to get hold of the JMF player for the running TV content.
    - The MHP APIs do many different things, again depending on what your application wants to do.
    - You don't mention them but you also probably need some of the org.havi.ui APIs. In MHP, the top level graphics Container class for applications is an instance of org.havi.ui.HScene. Also the "VK_" constants for some of the remote control codes are only defined in org.havi.ui.HRcEvent.
    See http://www.mhp-interactive.org for examples of how to use many of the MHP APIs.

  • What is the difference between WORKFLOW API and BPEL PROCESS MANAGER API

    Hi,
    I am using BPEL process manager and would like to know the correct api set.
    I found the workflow api which appears to be part of the oracle workflow.
    is workflow api and oracle BPEL process manager two seperate products? --- Pls confirm/deny.

    Hi me_sun, me_oracle :)
    The bpel api can be found here
    http://download.oracle.com/docs/cd/B31017_01/integrate.1013/b28986/toc.htm
    workflow found here
    http://download.oracle.com/docs/cd/E12483_01/integrate.1013/b28985/toc.htm
    when us install BPEL you do get BPELs human workflow component. This is different to the Oracle Oracle workflow which was based on the database and PL/SQL.

  • What is the difference between AXIEM and EMSIght? What are the advantages of AXIEM over EMSight if any?

    I am wondering what the differences are between AXIEM and EMSight. Are they application related? Is one better than the other one? Please explain.
    Solved!
    Go to Solution.

    AWR considers AXIEM the most powerful planar EM simulator around.   AXIEM is the focus of continual research and improvement while EMSight is only worked on if serious deficiencies are found.  Here is a summary of the differences:
    Meshing
    EMSight must mesh the grid nearest to the conductors using rectangles.  This causes the mesh to have more mesh elements when there are small and large geometries.  The grid must be small enough to capture the small geometry but then causes the large geometries to be over meshed.   Additionally, angled or curved structures causes meshing inefficiencies.
    AXIEM meshes the shapes, rather than a grid.  Additionally, the mesh can be rectangle or triangle.   This allows for a much more efficient mesh.   Typically AXIEM will have a much more efficient
    AXIEM contains the ability to process shapes to clean up geometries that cause mesh inefficiencies.  EMSight does not contain this capability.
    AXIEM can mesh shapes as thick metal, EMSight cannot and user's must make approximations when  thick metal will change coupling (loss is accounted for properly with metal thickness)
    Ports
    Ports are mostly similar but the parasitics due on AXIEM ports are less.  Additionally, AXIEM doesn't have a side wall, so the effects of not moving the reference plane from the edge of the line are much less in AXIEM.
    Ports can be added at most any location in geometry with AXIEM.  For EMSight, ports are usually only added on the outside of the geometry and have limitations to reference planes per side of the enclosure.
    Solvers
    EMSight does not have a low frequency solver.  It will go low in frequency and then extrapolate to DC.  This usually works okay, but you must be aware of if the extrapolation is accurate.  AXIEM has both a low and high frequency solver so will do much better at lower frequencies an usually much better at DC.
    EMSight's solver scales O(n)^2 for memory and O(n)^3 for time.   It does have a special algorithm to break up the memory issue, but the time issue is the killer.  AXIEM has a direct solver which scales similarly and an iterative solver which will scale O(nlogn).   Said another way, AXIEM can solve much large problems that EMSight.
    More of AXIEM's processes are multithreaded than EMSight.
    Enclosure
    EMSight is inside a perfect conductor sidewall.   This works well if you circuit is in the same cavity.  If not, you must know the rules of them on how far to space shapes from the sidewalls as well as how far to extend the port deembedding reference planes.   AXIEM does not have this enclosure.   AXIEM does not currently have a good way to simulate a perfect conductor sidewall.
    I am sure I missed some aspects of the tools.   From AWR's perspective AXIEM is the tool of choice except in a few rare circumstances were EMSight might be needed.

  • In LSMW, what is diff between LSMW-BAPI and LSMW-IDOC

    hello all
    In LSMW, what is diff between LSMW-BAPI and LSMW-IDOC

    Hi Swamy,
    The differences between IDoc and BAPI are as follows:
    IDOC
    IDocs are text encoded documents with a rigid structure that are used to exchange data between R/3 and a foreign system.
    Idocs are processed asynchronously and no information whatsoever is returned to the client.
    The target system need not be always online. The IDOC would be created and would send the IDOC once the target system is available (tRFC concept). Hence supports guaranteed delivery.
    With asynchronous links the sub-process on the client can be finished even if the communication line or the server is not available. In this case the message is stored in the database and the communication can be done later.
    The disadvantage of asynchronous links is that the sub-process on the server cannot return information to the calling sub-process on the client. A special way for sending information back to the client is required. In addition, a special error handling mechanism is required to handle errors on the receiving side.
    IDOCs may be more changeable from release to release.
    IDOCs  are poorly documented.
    BAPI
    BAPIs are a subset of the RFC-enabled function modules, especially designed as Application Programming Interface (API) to the SAP business object, or in other words: are function modules officially released by SAP to be called from external programs.
    BAPIs are called synchronously and (usually) return information.
    For BAPIs the client code needs to do the appropriate error handling.
    Problems with synchronous links occur if the communication line or the server is temporarily not available. If this happens, the sub-process on the client cannot be finished (otherwise there would be data inconsistencies).
    Synchronous links have the advantage that the sub-process on the server can return values to the sub-process on the client that has started the link.
    BAPIs are not totally immune to upgrades.
    BAPIs are reasonably well documented.
    Reward points if useful.
    Best Regards,
    Sekhar
