Other than that, it is important to know the following:
    Unit Testing
When you test every single document is called unit testing.
    String Testing
One transaction full activity is called string testing . For example Vendor invoice, goods received and vendor payment.
    Integration Testing
It is purely with other modules and we have to check whether the FI testing is working with other related modules or not.
    Regression Testing
Testing for whole database. Bring all the data into another server and do the testing is called regression.
    UAT
When we test any particular document with the user and if it is ok immediately we have to take the signature on the document, which is signed off and can be forwarded to the immediate boss. There are some steps to be followed when we go for user acceptance testing.
Transaction u2013 Script Writing u2013 Expected Results u2013 Compare with Actual Results
    TPR (Transaction Problem Reporting)
While doing the user acceptance testing if we get any problems then there are some methodologies to be followed according to the companyu2019s policy and normally as a tester we always need to write on Test Script itself.
    Hope this helps you.

  • What are the username and password when i click the ICM of JavaEE5@SAP

when i click the ICM of JavaEE5@SAP in the sapmanagement console mmc, It need i input the username and password for Web_admin, What are the username and password when i click the ICM of JavaEE5@SAP and which tools act the role as the VisualAdministrator of NetWeaver04s and NetWeaver2004s?
    thank you very much

    Hello Guoging,
you can login to ICM with username Administrator and password abc123. That is described in the start.html file, which you can find in the unzipped Downloadpackage of SAP NetWeaver Java EE 5 Edition.
You can use NetWeaverAdministrator(NWA) or config tool to configure this edition. NWA
needs to be installed separately. If you have a default installation, go to
C:SAPJP1JC00j2eeNWAdmin and execute the file install.bat. Ensure that NetWeaver is running, enter user Administrator und the Masterpassword you chose during installation and wait around 20 Minutes or more. NWA is started automatically after installation has finished in your webbrowser.
For more information on NWA read the Administrationguide

  • What is the  Merits and De-Merits if we choose Item or Service Items.

    Hi,
Please guide me what are the merits and de merits if we choose Items or Service Items when we are adding AR Invoice under AR Modules.we are using SAP B1 43.
Item: Item to create a sales document for items defined in the Inventory module
Service Item:Service to create a sales document for a service that has not been defined as an Item in SAP Business One, such as a one-time consultation. please share your points.
    Regds,
    Samapth Kumar Devunuri.

    Hi Samapth,
It is clear based on the definition you known.  Depending on you business process, the more of the item types, the better.  That is because you can do all kinds of analysis and breakdown the accounting details easily.  Service types are usually only applied to one time or small amount sales.
    Thanks,

  • What is the significance of ACTIVATE in SAP?

what is the concept of Activate in SAP? there are objects like report that must be activated. but then there are objects like an SAP-Script that is just saved in TC SE71. Why? what's the difference? similarly, when tables are created and maintained, they're activated but when their Authorization group etc is changed or maintained,  the settings only need to be saved... I'm a beginner level ABAPer and need your guidance. Thanks in advance.

    Hi,
Activation is probably the most imp thing to do in SAP.
Tables need to be activated so that the changes which you have done in the tables are reflected, but in case of settings,, just saving them is enough... In settings you are only manipulating the things and not adding anything new.
Once you activate, then only the memory for the constants and variables and stuff is allocated.
Incase , you modify an activated code, it turns into an inactivated state, and you may not get all the functionality that you desire from your code.
So its very important to activate.

  • What is the Three System Landscape in SAP

    Hi All,
Please explain me What is the Three system Landscape in SAP.
    Thank you very much,
    Kavya.

    1.  Database Layer
The database layer consists of a central database system containing all of the data in the R/3 System. The database system has two components - the database management system (DBMS), and the databse itself. SAP does not manufacture its own database. Instead, the R/3 System supports the following database systems from other suppliers: ADABAS D, DB2/400 (on AS/400), DB2/Common Server, DB2/MVS,INFORMIX, Microsoft SQL Server, ORACLE, and
ORACLE Parallel Server. The database does not only contain the master data and transaction data from your business applications, all data for the entire R/3 System is stored there. For example, the database contains the control and Customizing data that determine how your R/3 System runs. It also contains the program code for your applications. Applications consist of program code, screen
definitions, menus, function modules, and various other components. These are stored in a special section of the database called the R/3 Repository, and are accordingly called Repository objects. You work with them in the ABAP Workbench.
    2.  Application Layer
The application layer consists of one or more application servers and a message server. Each application server contains a set of services used to run the R/3 System. Theoretically, you only need one application server to run an R/3 System. In practice, the services are distributed across more than one application server. This means that not all application servers will provide the full  range of services. The message server is responsible for communication between the application servers. It passes requests from one application server to another within the system. It also contains information about application server groups and the current load balancing within them.  It uses this information to choose an appropriate server when a user logs onto the system.
    3.  Presentation Layer
The presentation layer contains the software components that make up the SAPgui (graphical user interface). This layer is the interface between the R/3 System and its users. The R/3 System uses the SAPgui to provide an intuitive graphical user interface for entering and displaying data.  The presentation layer sends the user’s input to the application server, and receives data for display from it. While a SAPgui component is running, it remains linked to a user’s terminal
    session in the R/3 System.

  • What is the guideline and/or best practice for EMC setup on ASM?

We are going to use EMC CX4-480 for ASM storage on RAC. What is the guideline and best practice for EMC setup on ASM?
    Thanks for the advice!

Probably a poor choice of words. Sorry.
So basically, I have gotten further, but I just noticed related problem.
I'm using the WebServices(WS) 1.0. I insert an account, then, on a separate WS call, I insert my contacts for the account. I include the AccountID, and a user defined key from the Account when creating the Contact.
When I look at my Contact on the CRMOD web page, it shows the appropriate links back to the Account. But when I look at my Account on the CRMOD web page, it shows no Contacts.
So when I say workflow or Best Practice, I was hoping for guidance on how to properly write my code to accomplish all of the necessary steps. As in this is how you insert an account with a contact(s) and it updates the appropriate IDs so that it shows up properly on the CRMOD web pages.
Based on the above, it looks like I need to, as the next step, take the ContactID and update the Account with it so that their is a bi-directional link.
I'm thinking there is a better way in doing this.
    Here is my psuedocode:
    AccountInsert()
    AccountID = NewAcctRec
    ContactInsert(NewAcctRec)
    ContactID = NewContRec
    AccountUpdate(NewContRec)
    Thanks,

  • What are the versions in workflow?

    Hi,
What are the versiond in workflow and what is the difference between the versions?
    Regards,
    Chow

My understanding of the versions is as follows -
In older releases ( I do not have the release numbers here ) whenever you transport a workflow to production then you need to create a new version in development . This was because the next time you transport it , if u use the same version then the workflows running in production could have inconsistent behaviour .
In newer releases , this problem does not occur as if you retransport using the same version , the running workflows in the traget system still work on the older version( version which was active when they were started ) and the workflow system automatically creates a new version number so that the new workflows uses the latest transported information . If there are no workflows active at the time of the transport then the version number in the target is overwritten and no new version is created .

  • What is the use of varients in sap?

what is the use of varients in sap?

    hi,
Whenever you start a program in which selection screens are defined, the system displays a set of input fields for database-specific and program-specific selections. To select a certain set of data, you enter an appropriate range of values.
For further information about selection screens, refer to Selection Screens in the ABAP User's Guide.
If you often run the same program with the same set of selections (for example, to create a monthly statistical report), you can save the values in a selection set called a variant.
You can create any number of variants for any program in which selection screens are defined. Variants are assigned exclusively to the program for which they were created.
You can also use variants to change the appearance of the selection screen by hiding selection criteria. This is particularly useful when you are working with large selection screens on which not all of the fields are relevant.
Reports, module pools, and function groups may have several selection screens. It is therefore possible to create a variant for more than one selection screen.
Variants are an interface between the user and the selection screen. They can be used both in dialog and in background mode, although their uses are slightly different.
    Variants in Dialog Mode
In dialog mode, variants make things easier for the user, since they save him or her from continually having to enter identical values. They can also make the selection screen easier to read, because you can use them to hide input fields. Running an executable program with a variant containing an optimal set of values also reduces the capacity for user error. The optimized database selections speed up the runtime of the program.
    Variants in Background Mode
Variants are the only method for passing values to a report program in a background job. Therefore, when you run a program in the background, you must use a variant (or SUBMIT... VIA JOB). To avoid you having to create a new variant each time you run the report, ABAP contains a mechanism allowing you to pass variable values to variants. See Variable Values in Variants.
To ensure that an executable program is always started using a variant, you can specify in the program attributes that the program may only be started in this way.
    report variants
    Definition
Group of selection criteria that has been saved. A report can have several different variants, with each variant retrieving different types of information. For example, a vendor report might have one variant for U.S. vendors and another variant for European vendors.
    Use
Instead of entering the same values in the selection criteria input fields each time you execute a report, you can enter the values once and then save the selection criteria as a variant. The next time you execute the report, you only need to enter the variant name, not the selection criteria. If you use variants, the selection criteria screen is already filled with data.
To execute certain reports, you must use a variant. In this case, a system message prompts you to do so. Although you are not always required to use variants or selection criteria, it is a good idea to use them when possible. Your resulting lists will be smaller and take less time for the system to process.

  • What are the bad Effect of changing sap Standard Programs?

    Hi all,
I want to know what are the Bad effects of changing SAP standard screen and reports.
I need a bit theoretical Explanation.
Please suggest me some good and effective matter link.
    Regards

    Hi sonal,
If I write the theory here ,might be its going to mess up here.mm..try this link. There are good information in changing a standard functionality.
    http://software.feedfury.com/content/28535477-changing_the_sap_standard.html
    2. I can tell one of like ...
To change a standard program or functionality or standard field in  sap,we have to go for related user, customer scvren exit etc.
We have to find the right exit to that particular transaction and do our customized coding there. We have to be very careful, since we are going to change the standard exit.this user exit will be used in 'N' number of other screens and transaction. So when you change , that change will /may affect the other transactions also.If you corrupt that particular exit, there are chances for that transaction to go for a toss.I have experianced this personally.when I was working on particular userxit and editing, that particular transaction was not working properly for others, since i was doing from my login, everyone came to my place and started bugging me to stop working on it:)

  • What are the different functions used in sap script?

    Hi,
What are the different functions used in sap script? What are the parameters used in each Function?
    Regards,
    Mahesh

he print program is used to print forms. The program retieves the necesary data from datbase tables, defines the order of in which text elements are printed, chooses a form for printing and selects an output device and print options.
    Function modules in a printprogram:
When you print a form you must used the staments OPEN_FORM and CLOSE_FORM. To combine forms into a single spool request use START_FORM and END_FORM.
To print textelements in a form use WRITE_FORM. The order in which the textelements are printed, is determined by the order of the WRITE_FORM statements. Note: for printing lines in the body, you can also use the WRITE_FORM_LINES function module.
To transfer control command to a form use CONTROL_FORM.
    Structure of a print program
    Read data
    Tables: xxx.
    SELECT *
    FROM xxx.
Open form printing - Must be called before working with any of the other form function modules.
Must be ended with function module CLOSE FORM
    call function 'OPEN_FORM'.....
To begin several indentical forms containing different data within a single spool request, begin each form using START_FORM, and end it using END_FORM
    call funtion 'START_FORM'.....
Write text elements to a window of the form
    call function 'WRITE_FORM'.....

    CONTROL_FORM function
The CONTROL_FORM function module alows you to create SapScript control statements from within an APAB program.
    Syntax:
    CALL FUNCTION 'CONTROL_FORM'
      EXPORTING
        command         =
    EXCEPTIONS
      UNOPENED        = 1
      UNSTARTED       = 2

    MESSAGE ID SY-MSGID TYPE SY-MSGTY NUMBER SY-MSGNO
            WITH SY-MSGV1 SY-MSGV2 SY-MSGV3 SY-MSGV4.
    ENDIF.
    Example:
    Protecting the text element ITEM_LINE
    CALL FUNCTION 'CONTROL_FORM'
      EXPORTING
        COMMAND = 'PROTECT'.
    CALL FUNCTION 'WRITE_FORM'
      EXPORTING
        TEXELEMENT = 'ITEM_LINE'.
    CALL FUNCTION 'CONTROL_FORM'
      EXPORTING
        COMMAND = 'ENDPROTECT'.

what are the steps to perform in sap pi after importing Efilling XI content

    Hi ,
The government agency processing the E filing might have a system that is capable of receiving http requests.
That is a possible explanation for your "why" question.
regarding, what has to be done in PI, you just need to configure in ID.
    1) Create business service (Communication component) for the receiver.
    2) create  a HTTP receiver adapter.
    3) Import the business system for your sap system
    4) Create a recdeiver determination
    5) Create a interface determination, and give your mapping name
    6) Create a receiver agreement using the http communication channel you have created
    best Regards,
    Ravi
