What is the best way to allow one to send an email? Confused.

Hi,
I researched on the forum for the ability to have someone click a button and be able to have a blank email pop up.  I use to use this all the time.
However my question is since Outlook Express (and for that matter now Windows mail) are no longer included in the new operatings systems ... meaning everyone has to buy a mail program ... what is the best way to have someone send an email?  I am particularly not fond of forms and would rather have them be able to have an email pop up.
However now you will miss a lot of people ... I use Windows mail thus the Outlook express code gives me an error.
THUS MY QUESTION:
Is there general code (and if so what is it?) that allows a person to click a button and send an email no matter what type email program they have?
If not is there an other way to accomplish this?
If not, if I must use a form/action script 2.0 ... does anyone have a sure-fire 2.0 script that is easy to use/debug/modify?
THANKS.

I don't understand what you mean by "be able to have blank email pop up" but Yes you can send an email without the need of any email programs through ActionScript via PHP through the POST method. There is a simple example in http://www.kirupa.com/developer/actionscript/flash_php_email.htm

  • What is the best way to make PSD into HTML for emails

What is the best way to make PSDs into HTML for emails? Will the new feature in Dreamweaver work for emails as well? I am using Cheetah mail, but I need to be able to turn PSDs into HTML so I can use it in Cheetah mail.  I have a general idea of how to do this, but I'm stumped about where to begin.

Use PShop for images only.  Use DW to create your tables and inline CSS styles.
Many e-mail clients do not show images for security reasons.  So graphics heavy e-mails are not an optimal way to communicate with your mailing list.

  • UI design - what is the best way to allow the user to set some kind of infusion at varying (non periodic) times?

I want to allow the user to specify a curve like this:
Such that some subVI outputs the value A2 when a time variable is within the range R1, A1 when the time variable is within the range R2, and A3 when the time is within the range R3.
My design looks something like this:
With error checking that looks like this:
My question is, is the array based approach optimal? How else could I tackle this?

I think I can summarize the conversation to this point as an answer to the original question (What is the best way ...) -- before starting to write any code, think carefully about what you want to accomplish, and write it down (otherwise known as "Write the Documentation First").  One of the points of a good User Interface is that it doesn't allow users to "make silly mistakes" -- it leads the user "by the hand", restricting the entries to "legal values" and requiring that entries be made in a logical manner.
So if you were going to have a list of Infusions to enter, it makes sense to decide on whether to enter Time Intervals (which are always >0) or Times (which, logically) are always in ascending order.  You can (and should) decide which you want (or you could have a control that would let the User decide, but that might be too flexible) and then enforce your "rules".
Suppose you decided on "Intervals" (which seems, to me, to be more User Friendly).  After the User has entered the intervals (and you've provided a nice plot of Infusion vs Time), you could allow the User to "split" an Interval, "Remove" an Interval, or "Edit the Infusion" of an Interval, or you could decide to have a simpler "Accept or Start Over" choice -- if you only have a few intervals, the last might be the simplest (and thus the Best) Design Choice.

  • What is the best way to allow two designers, working in different locations, to have access to the same muse site?

I'm trying to figure out the best way to share access to a muse site so that two different designers can be responsible for different features of the site. e.g., one is responsible for photo galleries, the other is responsible for shopping cart. Is there a way to do this?

    Hi
    Please check the following thread,
How can multiple users from different locations access my Muse website files to update them?

  • What is the best way to allow multiple presentations/presenters iOS devices to a video device(single projector)

I am sure there are several ways to do this but I am rather new to iProducts. The instructor wants to allow students to present either from their own devices or from a mac mini where the presentations had been sent to prior to the class.
At first glance it seemed that an AppleTV would work great for this but I have been told that AppleTV is unreliable when it comes to multiple iOS sources.(Likely trying it out anyways.)
The other method I am looking at is to either grant the class' roll access to a DropBox account or use a 3rd party attachment email service to get all the students presentations to one place. Then its a as simple as using Splashtop or some other remote desktop app/software. Only thing there is the instructor wants the students to use their OWN devices to control the mini/presentation. I can only assume this is a bad idea, but I really don't know.
I have heard but have been unable to confirm that the new mac minis can be controlled from an iPad without additional app downloads, is this the case?
I guess I am at the very start of putting this together but does anyone here have any thoughts or advice?
Also, just throwing this out there, I am a PC guy but seeing how easily Macs set up and integrate in commercial jobs is about to guide me to making a switch.

Sir, here is 10 points! This is the perfect solution for what we are trying to do. I am not sure if the instructor will want to replace their projector although I bet I'd be able to convince them that they'd spend just as much and get half the functionality trying to save the existing projector.
Do you know if Epson is working on a mirroring function? Or if any other company has some sort of dongle or box(and an app) to accomplish this with any brand projector? I am still searching for these answers somewhere online but likely coming up on a dead end.
Also, have you had any experience with AirServer or Reflections?
Thank you again for the article, very very informative!

  • What is the best way to morph one circle into two, with fluidity?

Hello I'm creating a small animation,
I have a good working knowledge of After Effects CS6, but this is the first time really delving into animation.
So I'm kind of unsure of the best method to do this, I've tried masking a solid and keyframing the shape change to the other, but it's doesn't really give the fluid motion I'm seeking.
This is the sort of effect.
Obviously without a costly plug-in would be preferred. Thank you in advance to anyone who can help me.
Also the more like liquid droplets the better.
    Thank you
    Tom

    Thank you,
I ended up using the CC Smear effect, so whilst one pertrudes the other is nested in the end of said protusion.
Then I animated the size and position of the nested circle (whilst protuding that one as well), so it appears to blob out of the end then the protusions retract from both circles, whilst putting an inertia bounce on the position of the 'End' position of the protusion. So it appears to wobble when it is fully retracted.
The problem with this is...The occasional glitch (when rendered) with CC Smear.
Is there a reason for this?

  • What is the best way to migrate one mac to another

    Hello All:
Tomorrow my new iMac arrives.  I want to migrate all of my current settings, applications and data from my MacBook Pro (2007) over.  I am currenty running OSX 10.6.7.  I run Time Machine onto a USB drive.  I have heard that you can either use Migration Assistant via direct Firewire or Time Machine.  Which is the best or does it even matter?
    Thanks.

Absolute disaster trying to use this Migration assistant! First of all it caught me in a loop because the OS on the new computer was not the same version as the old computer. Only after backing out of Migration Assitant a couple times did I finally get the message that I had to bring my new iMac up to date with the OS. Fine I did that thinking that perhaps that was the reason it wasn't sinking with the Firewire. No go. Still doesn't recognize the Firewire. So haw about two up-to-date computers and USB. It seemed to update users but I sure can't see any difference. And there is no longer a Mac HD icon on the desktop. How about moving 500 GB via WiFi. Sure except around the 3/4 mark I'm told there is a problem with my WiFi. Well, everything else is working. So now I'll try a Drobo restore routine. Migration Assistant is garbage. After 25 years working w/Macs this is equaling at least the biggest wste of my time of all of the OS's of the past.

  • What is the best way to manage one library on two computers?

My wife and I recently bought Macbook's, switching from our previous Dell desktop. Now that we have two computers we want a way for both of us to be able to access our iTunes library from our respective computers and add music to our iPods. When I add our music into my Library and set my library to share this only seems to allow her to play the songs on her Macbook but not add them to her iPod. Adding our music to her own library raises the problem of new albums I download not appearing in her library unless she manually adds them. I would like a way we can keep all of our music in one folder (on our Time Capsule) but both be able to download music, have it show up on the other persons library, and add songs to our iPods from our own computers.

When I add our music into my Library and set my library to share this only seems to allow her to play the songs on her Macbook but not add them to her iPod.
Correct. You cannot sync an iPod to a playlist provided by iTunes Sharing. The track must be on the computer to which the iPod is being synchronized.
I would like a way we can keep all of our music in one folder (on our Time Capsule) but both be able to download music, have it show up on the other persons library, and add songs to our iPods from our own computers.
iTunes doesn't have any built-in folder watching capability, so without third-party software help, content added from one computer has to be manually added to iTunes on the other computer. Hazel says it can be set up to add content to iTunes automatically, but I haven't tried it myself.
Alternatively, you can each have your own iTunes library on your own computers and use one of the several third-party utilities to keep the libraries in sync. If that's of interest, post back and I can provide links to the utilities I know of.
    Regards.

  • What is the best way to connect? I could be somewhat confused

Just hooked up the AEBS on "n" only and the 5 freq.
I noticed it is reflecting a 270mps speed.
I m curious to know if I should hook the Apple TV up to the router through a ethernet cable, which would be 100mps or wirelessly which being a "n" device would connect at 270mps
I would think the wireless would be faster based upon these numbers, but not sure.
Any way to measure the speed of both of these options

The answer depends on whether you have an original AEBSn with the 100BaseT ports, or the current model AEBSn with the gigabit ethernet ports. If the latter, clearly the cabled ethernet connection is far and away the fastest connection method.
That being said, keep in mind that 270Mbps is a one-time measurement. Your wireless network may not function 100% of the time at that speed - there can be momentary pauses and dropouts in the wireless connection. This would never happen with a cabled connection - which is why I would recommend that even if you have an older 100BaseT ethernet port base station you still connect the AppleTV via ethernet cable if it is at all practical. Plus, you wouldn't use up your wireless network bandwidth with the AppleTV connection, providing you with a better wireless connection between your wireless Mac(s) and your LAN.

  • What is the best way to transfer my Yahoo mail account email, email folders and contacts to Mac Mail?

A new version of Yahoo Mail has unexpectedly been dumped on long time users a few days ago, leaving many of us with functions that no longer work and are unstable. There was no announcement of a Beta or a possibility of retaining the old Yahoo Mail. It was like "Here it is, like it or not. We don't care."
My son said "Why don't you use another email client?". I thought of Mac Mail immediately. I have found a lot of instructions as to how to move my Yahoo mail components, and they sound pretty easy, but what I haven't found is what happens to my Inbox email, my archived email and my contacts. Do I have to move all those components to Mac Mail manually, and if so, will they now reside on my hard drive? Maybe I'm getting in over my head here. Some of the instructions say all I need is just my Full Name, Email address and Password. I guess I'm a cynic. It just sounds too good to be true. What happens to the stuff that was on Yahoo?
I have a couple of other reputable email accounts, but I would have to go through all my friends and businesses and inform them of the changed email addy.
Any help would be greatly appreciated.
    ktaggart

I've never bothered w/Yahoo Mail latest upgrades or updates.
You can switch back to the old version of Yahoo Mail by going into your Yahoo Preferences and/or check the top right hand corner of its website.

  • What is the best way to find application issues as an email alert

    Hi,
We have hotel booking system which is developed as a web application. Suppose any hotel booking failed means we have to check manually in the database.
So now we are planing to build a automatic system, if any booking failed it will gives mail alert.
We are planning to build a console application and we deploy this console application as windows service in the production server.
Is there any better options for this scenario,  Please let me know.
    Thanks in advance.
    Thanking You, Nagendra.

We are planning to build a console application and we deploy this console application as windows service in the production server.
A console application is not a Window service. Yes,  you can use a Windows Service for this, but it's an entirely different type of a program that is constantly running, which would probably be better for you.
But there is nothing wrong with a Console exe or Windows form exe. With both, you can set the project's setup type to point to the Program.cs. In the Windows forms project, you would rip out everything about the form.
There are articles on both exe solutions on how to do the above and change the startup, and either way it would be a solution you can use as scheduled running program using the Windows O/S Job Scheduler.
You have to do something in the Web application to queue the messages by either dumping them as text files to a file share, using MSMQ, or MS SQL Server Service Broker Message Queue. You would have your email program go to the staging area, get the text
messages and email them. You may also want to think about archiving the messages.
You have to email some kind of way. If you have a MS Exchange Server and Outlook, the you can use the Outlook objects in C# to email the messages.
But probably the simplest thing to do is use the MS SQL Server.
    http://www.sqlservercurry.com/2008/02/how-to-send-email-using-sql-server-2005.html
The email traffic you are talking about is miniscule or at beat nothing traffic to SQL Server, just call the sproc from your C# code. :)
As for your little email program, you may want to use Eventlog to log message about the email program activates, or you can use Log4Net, which has a tutorials for Log4Net.
Heck you can make Log4Net send emails, which is something else you may want to consider in your Web application. :)

Hi I want to send oneemail msg (only text) from mor than 2000 address.
I want that the recp. will not c the other address (i. e. each address should be a BCC)
what is the best way to do it? sned 2000 emails or to send 20 emails with 1000 recp. ?
is there any limitation on the number of recp in BCC?
    10x alot Yonatan

is there any limitation on the number of recp in BCC?
mail server you are using may be the limiting factor. However, most mail server handle 2000 recp. You will get smtp error 552 if the mail server cant handle 2000 recipients.

  • What is the best way to move an iPhoto library from one internal drive to another internal drive?

the drive where my iPhoto library is store is just about full.  I have a second internal SSD that I'd like to move (not copy) the library to.  What is the best way to do that and still ensure that iPhoto will access the library in its new location?

Just drag the iPhoto Library package from the one drive to the second disk.  Launch iPhoto with the Option key held down and select the library in it's new location on the second disk.  Once you're satisfied that it is working satisfactorliy you can delete the copy on the first disk.

  • I would like to use one library but with multiple ipods, but because they are my kids Ipods, and they each have their own gift cards, I'd like to be able to add money to their "profiles" without them having their own account - what is the best way

So here is my delima - I want one Ipod account - because I only want one library - since we all like the same music - but my kids, who have their own IPODS, have gift cards, who want to be able to keep track of their balance without the other child affecting the balance - meaning - each gift card should be seperate and not totalled to the single account - Beacuse the library is fairly large, having three libraries of large amounts would be a waste.  I would also like to restrict their purchased to the gift cards only and not my credit card on file.  Does this make sense?  Once this is resolved, I'm assuming they would use their own playlists to copy their favorites to each Ipod.  Or would I set up an account for each child - which I dont want to do, because I dont want them having access to my Credit Card, and only gift card balances.  With multiple accounts, I'm assuming that would also build seperate libraries?  We also have multiple computers, but I share the library to those computers -
What is the best way?  I'd like to be able to add credit to a specific child (birthdays, etc) without the other child being able to access that credit.  For simplicity sake.
We are new to IPODS and lack any MAC skills.
    Thoughts?

Not going to happen the way you want it to.
When you add a gift card balance to the Apple ID, it's available for the Apple ID.
Probably best to create unique Apple ID's for each... this will also make things easier in the future as purchases are eternally tied to the Apple ID they were purchased with.
