Use UTF-8 all the way. During both request and response processing.
More info: [http://balusc.blogspot.com/2009/05/unicode-how-to-get-characters-right.html].
Edit: I should add, you should in no way do ugly things like myname = new String(( myname.getBytes("iso-8859-1")), "Big5" );on request parameters. Just get the parameter and that's it. The parameter should already be properly encoded if you follow the instructions in the aforementioned article.

What are the programming language used in adobe livecycle development?
hi friends,
I am a fresher.I woundered what adobe has done in livecycle import option.so i want to know wht is the programming language used and how they read graphical fields like line, circle.Programatically, Java is the language used to implement business logic that would plug into LiveCycle. I believe you can use C# for older versions. However, that information is irrelevant to your problem.
That being said, it's typically not advisable to be modifying PDF files generated by different applications (iText, Adobe LiveCycle, etc.). While both documents may render out as "PDF", they will not be created internally in the same manner. I would advise that it may be easy to add PDF files generated by other applications as attachments, they are not going to be easily handled unless you address each specific document in a custom manner. -
What are the advantages of using cirrus for multiuser applications ?
Hi!
Can anybody help me understanding the advantages of using cirrus for multiuser apps ?
One advantage i think, may be it's free . Isn't it ? Anything else ( say, it's faster .? )The main advantage is that it is a P2P system. It is not the same as a Flash Media Server or other Flash servers. When using Cirrus, your content is sent directly to and from clients, they do not need to send it to the server, get it interpreted and then send it to the other user.
So essentially Cirrus is fantastic if you have an application envrionment that needs multiuser interaction, but only for client to client operations: you'd want peer-to-peer. -
What is the path to use SSO for ASP Applications
We have a big Active Server Pages based web site.
And we want to integrate the whole site to Oracle Portal
Authentication and Security.
The ASP web site doesn't want to mantain user information.
What to do?
I found that external applications are not the solution for me.
And URL components doesn't managed the security when I follow a

the url of the ASP web site
Please help me to understand what options for full integration

What are the advantage of using a passive monitoring technique ?
What are the advantage of using a passive monitoring technique
Hi Plawansai,
I saw your question that is still unanswered.
I believe an advantage of using a passive monitoring technique is that it won't interfer with live traffic, as it does not inject traffic into the network or modify the traffic that is already on the network.
One drawback anyway, is that post-processing time can take a large amount of time with passive monitoring!
A combination of the two monitoring methods seems to be the route to go.

What are the 5 Most Useful Shareware programs you've come across?
I wanted to lighten the mood on the forum with all of the complaints about the MBP with something potentially useful to current users as well as potential users like myself. I was just wondering what were the 5 most useful shareware programs people have come across for their MBP? It can range from security add ons, or networking tricks, really anything that saves you a few minutes of your day that you think sets your MBP apart from other MBPs and other portables in general.
Oh, and please try not to include the macsaber....yes it was funny...the first 10 threads....1. Radio widget from WU: http://radiotuner.wuersch.net/
you can just add any radion stream (url), they also have a list on their website (needs real player)
2. Transmit (very user friendly FTP)
3. Macjanitor (keeps the system tidy)
4. VLC player (plays most media extensions)
5. Skype (Phone any lan or mobile in the world from you mac/pc for a fraction of the cost, as well as normal chat)
Actually i think most of that lot is freeware apart from Transmit; bargain!
honorable mention for Appzapper, SuperDuper, google earth and firefox.

I use Time Machine to back up my entire computer with my external hard drive. I am getting a brand new iMac this month and was wondering what is the process of using this back up to restore my new computer exactly how my old computer was? I want to make sure I will still have various important files on my new computer, like my songs in iTunes, my photos in iPhoto, etc, etc. Thanks so much in advance!
Welcome to the Apple Support Communities
When you turn on the new iMac for the first time, Setup Assistant will ask you to restore a backup, so connect the external disk and follow steps to restore all your files to your new iMac. Your new Mac will have the same settings and programs as your old computer.
In other cases, I would recommend to restore the whole backup without using Migration Assistant or Setup Assistant, but a Late 2012 iMac uses a special OS X build, so the OS X version that you're using on your old Mac won't work on the new one. What are the Optimization Techniques?
What are the Optimization Techniques? Can any one send the one sample program which is having Good Optimization Techniques.
PhaniHi phani kumarDurusoju ,
ABAP/4 programs can take a very long time to execute, and can make other processes have to wait before executing. Here are
some tips to speed up your programs and reduce the load your programs put on the system:
Use the GET RUN TIME command to help evaluate performance. It's hard to know whether that optimization technique REALLY helps
unless you test it out. Using this tool can help you know what is effective, under what kinds of conditions. The GET RUN TIME
has problems under multiple CPUs, so you should use it to test small pieces of your program, rather than the whole program.
Generally, try to reduce I/O first, then memory, then CPU activity. I/O operations that read/write to hard disk are always the
most expensive operations. Memory, if not controlled, may have to be written to swap space on the hard disk, which therefore
increases your I/O read/writes to disk. CPU activity can be reduced by careful program design, and by using commands such as
SUM (SQL) and COLLECT (ABAP/4).
Avoid 'SELECT *', especially in tables that have a lot of fields. Use SELECT A B C INTO instead, so that fields are only read
if they are used. This can make a very big difference.
Field-groups can be useful for multi-level sorting and displaying. However, they write their data to the system's paging
space, rather than to memory (internal tables use memory). For this reason, field-groups are only appropriate for processing
large lists (e.g. over 50,000 records). If you have large lists, you should work with the systems administrator to decide the
maximum amount of RAM your program should use, and from that, calculate how much space your lists will use. Then you can
decide whether to write the data to memory or swap space. See the Fieldgroups ABAP example.
Use as many table keys as possible in the WHERE part of your select statements.
Whenever possible, design the program to access a relatively constant number of records (for instance, if you only access the
transactions for one month, then there probably will be a reasonable range, like 1200-1800, for the number of transactions
inputted within that month). Then use a SELECT A B C INTO TABLE ITAB statement.
Get a good idea of how many records you will be accessing. Log into your productive system, and use SE80 -> Dictionary Objects
(press Edit), enter the table name you want to see, and press Display. Go To Utilities -> Table Contents to query the table
contents and see the number of records. This is extremely useful in optimizing a program's memory allocation.
Try to make the user interface such that the program gradually unfolds more information to the user, rather than giving a huge
list of information all at once to the user.
Declare your internal tables using OCCURS NUM_RECS, where NUM_RECS is the number of records you expect to be accessing. If the
number of records exceeds NUM_RECS, the data will be kept in swap space (not memory).
Use SELECT A B C INTO TABLE ITAB whenever possible. This will read all of the records into the itab in one operation, rather
than repeated operations that result from a SELECT A B C INTO ITAB... ENDSELECT statement. Make sure that ITAB is declared
with OCCURS NUM_RECS, where NUM_RECS is the number of records you expect to access.
If the number of records you are reading is constantly growing, you may be able to break it into chunks of relatively constant
size. For instance, if you have to read all records from 1991 to present, you can break it into quarters, and read all records
one quarter at a time. This will reduce I/O operations. Test extensively with GET RUN TIME when using this method.
Know how to use the 'collect' command. It can be very efficient.
Use the SELECT SINGLE command whenever possible.
Many tables contain totals fields (such as monthly expense totals). Use these avoid wasting resources by calculating a total
that has already been calculated and stored.

IDoc (for intermediate document) is a standard data structure for electronic data interchange (EDI) between application programs written for the popular SAP business system or between an SAP application and an external program. IDocs serve as the vehicle for data transfer in SAP's Application Link Enabling (ALE) system. IDocs are used for asynchronous transactions: each IDoc generated exists as a self-contained text file that can then be transmitted to the requesting workstation without connecting to the central database. Another SAP mechanism, the Business Application Programming Interface (BAPI) is used for synchronous transactions.

what is the result of using the "post tax payable" option in the advance tax report - program rfumsv00? I know it will then post the input and output tax to the tax payable GL account. But from point of view of reporting, when you run the advance tax report, will there be any change after doing this posting to tax payable account?
Basic communication aside, J2EE is mostly a synchronous run-time environment. When asynchrony is introduced, a whole new set of infrastructure requirements is needed to support QoS and commercial-quality implementations. In other words, it's not just about API anymore, it's about reliable communication, exception handling, time outs, etc. You may want to look at this Q&A to see some of the benefits provided by J2EE as underlying run-time for orchestration:

What are the limitations of using labview 8.5.1 developers suite verses a real-time module in field point applications? Can an exe. be loaded onto a field point controller or does the controlling program have to reside on a PC for example?
centerbolt is correct, you can't load a .exe or even run a program on the fieldPoint controller unless you have the Real Time module. However, that does not mean you can't use your FieldPoint bank without the Real Time module.
From LabVIEW for windows you can make calls to the fieldpoint IO using the fieldpoint read/write functions.
This program runs on the PC not the FieldPoint controller. If you loose network connection to the fieldpoint, your program will loose connection to the IO. For many data logging applications this type of arrangement can work just fine. However, if this is the only type of application you are ever going to run, then you may as well not buy the Real Time controller for your fieldpoint but the network controller only.
If your application requires more reliability, and/or greater determinism than can be achieved by running a program on windows, then you should use the LabVIEW Real Time module and develop a program that can run down on the FieldPoint controller independent of windows.

What are the advantage of using Oracle Database when compare to SQL SERVER
Hi all
Please tell anyone about
what are the advantage of using Oracle Database when compare to SQL SERVER
Thanks in advance
Balamurugan Suser12842738 wrote:
Hi,
There are various differences between the two.
1. SQL Server is only Windows, but Oracle runs on almost all Platforms.
2. You can have multiple databases in SQL Server, but Oracle provides you only one database per instance.Given that the very term 'database' has s different meaning in the two products, this "difference" is absolutely meaningless.
3. SQL Server provides T-SQL for writing programs, whereas Oracle provides PL/SQLWhich means what? Both products have a procedural programming language. They named them differently, and the languages are not interchangeable. Means nothing in comparing the features/strengths/weaknesses/suitability to purpose.
4. Backup types in both are the same. (Except Oracle provides an additional backup called Logical Backup.)You make that sound like "Logical Backup" is something more than it is. It is nothing more than an export of the data and metadata. Many experts don't even consider it a backup. I'm sure SQL Server provides the same functionality though they probably call it by some other name.
5. Both provide High Availability.Well, I guess they both have a suite of features they refer to as "High Availability". But what does that really mean? The devil is in the details. Remember, the two products don't even agree on what constitutes a "database".
6. Both come in various distributions.???
>
If you are going for an Implementation, you can try SQL Server Express Edition and Oracle XE which are free to use.
Then you can choose whichever is comfortable for your needs.
Thanks.
