What is the regular expression for the end of a story?

Forgive me if this is wrong forum for asking this, but I'm trying to use the Find command using GREP and I need to know the regular expression for the end of a story. (Or, the last character of a story.) Thanks in advance.

I'd try search for .\z (that's a dot in front) which ought to find the very last character in the story, and replace with $0 and your additional text.
You know you can use a keyboard shortcut to move your cursor to the end of any story, right? Ctrl + End on Windows, Cmd + End, I think, on Mac. Unless you want to do this to every single story in the document, I would think you might be just as well off to put your text on the clipboard, put the cursor in the story and hit the key combo followed by Ctrl/Cmd + V to paste.

    Hi All,
    None of the file names suggested is working.
    I have tried using - MT940_MB_*\.txt , MT940_MB_*.*txt , MT940*.txt
    None of them is able to pick this filename - MT940_MB_20142204060823_1.txt
    Currently I am using generic regular expression which picks all .txt files. - ([^\s]+(\.(txt))$)
    Let me know ur suggestion on this.

  • How to write the regular expression for Square brackets?

    Hi,
    I want regular expression for the [] ‘Square brackets’.
    I have tried to insert in the below code but the expression not validate the [] square brackets.
    If anyone knows please help me how to write the regular expression for ‘[]’ Square brackets.
    private static final Pattern DESC_PATTERN = Pattern.compile("({1}[a-zA-Z])" +"([a-zA-Z0-9\\s.,_():}{/&#-]+)$");Thanks
    Raghav

    Since square brackets are meta characters in regex they need to be escaped when they need to be used as regular characters so prefix them with \\ (the escape character).

  • The post-expression for the step 'Set Station Global Models' could not be evaluated.

    When running a TestStand sequence, I get the following error message:
    The post-expression for the step 'Set Station Global Models' could not be evaluated.
    Variable or property types do not match or are not compatible.
    Error Code:  -17321; Variable or property types do not match or are not compatible.
    Although I do understand what the above is telling me, fixing the root cause is somewhat another thing.
    I'll explain the scenario.  The code is developped in TS4.1.0, although that should be irrelevant.
    I inherited a TestStand project which calls LabVIEW modules.  The original sequence works fine on the test pc (which is remotely located).  The local and remote PC's share the same StationGlobals.ini.
    Here is why it is strange..  I do get the error message on the local PC whether I use the old or the new code.  I was assuming that using the same StationGlobals.ini would have fixed that, but it didn't.
    When I run the old code on the remote PC, I do not get that message, but I do get it with the new code.  I don't recall modifying code that affected the StationGlobals.  My goal is to fix it on both machines (at least the remote one).
    This is the expression that it does not like:
    StationGlobals.Models=Locals.Models,
    However, that very same expression exists in the original code.  The one thing that did change is the addition of a new model number in the Locals.Models.newNumber.  I suspect that this contributes to the error.  But why does it give me an error when I run the original sequence locally?  Maybe I should try running it again..
    In either case, any suggestions to overcome the error?
    Thanks.

    Solved!
    Go to Solution.

    Please ignore post.
    I found the problem..  There was a mismatch with the number of models.  Easy fix.  It's all good.
    For someone else who might tumble onto this thread for the same reason, here's an explanation.
    I added a new model with its variants to the list of Locals.Models.  In total, there were 16 additions to the list.
    I also added these to the StationGlobals.  Which meant that my StationGlobals no longer matched the one on the remote PC.
    Where the error came in is that there was one missing model in the StationGlobals, so the size (number of models) did not match that of the Locals.
    Slight oversight in the sea of models that are listed (I'm not even going to count them).  Now fixed.
    ... and embarrassed ...
    I may as well give myself an "Accepted Solution".

  • SCCM 2012 R2 reporting error: "The DefaultValue expression for the report parameter 'UserTokenSIDs' contains an error: A specified logon session does not exist. It may already have been terminated. (rsRuntimeErrorInExpression)"

    Hi,
    I have two SCCM environments under same active directory domain and one service account have been used for SCCM configurations on both the environments (QA and PRODUCTION). I am facing similar error as mentioned above while trying to fetch reports on
    PRODUCTION site, but the QA site is working fine, though same service account have been used for configuring both. While looking at the reportserverservice_<date> log on my Production DB server i see the following error
    "processing!ReportServer_0-3!2124!01/02/2015-09:09:30:: e ERROR: Throwing Microsoft.ReportingServices.ReportProcessing.ProcessingAbortedException: , Microsoft.ReportingServices.ReportProcessing.ProcessingAbortedException: An error has occurred during
    report processing. ---> Microsoft.ReportingServices.ReportProcessing.ReportProcessingException: Cannot read the next data row for the dataset DataSet1. ---> System.Data.SqlClient.SqlException: Conversion failed when converting the nvarchar value 'Override
    Default' to data type int."
    My DB and SCCM primary site are different and the reorting services point is installed on remote DB server. Please help me resolving the issue.
    Troubleshooting performed:
    1.Disabled the registry key 'EnableRbacReporting' from HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SOFTWARE\Microsoft\SMS\SRSRP to 0 and then restarted SSRS service and the reporting worked for some minutes after that the registry key reverted back to 1 automatically and
    reporting started throwing errors again.
    2. Checked with the permissions on DB whether or not 'sysadmin' role is assigned to the SCCM service account.
    3. re-registered the SQL management Provider WMI class.
    mofcomp.exe “C:\Program Files (x86)\Microsoft SQL Server\110\Shared\sqlmgmproviderxpsp2up.mof”

    Hi All,
    Finally found exact solution to the reporting error.
    Error: while launching SCCM reports (both from Console and web based) an unexpected error occured with error message as "The DefaultValue expression for the report parameter ‘UserTokenSIDs’ contains an error: A specified logon session does not exist.
    It may already have been terminated. (rsRuntimeErrorInExpression)"
    Solution: This is password replication issue for the domain account used to configure reporting services point in SCCM. If your SQL SSRS reporting services instance and databse runs with local default account whereas the reporting services point on SCCM
    primary site is configured with domain account, (As in My case) you need to perform the following in order to get rid of the error.
    Launch 'Reporting Services Configuration Manager' from the SQL SSRS box(either Local or Remote), Connect to Report Server Instance->Go to 'Execution Account' tab->Specify the 'Execution Account' as domain account and password which is used to configure
    Reporting Services Point in SCCM Primary Site, and then click apply.
    Now Lauch the report either way (Web based or from Console), the error will disappear and all your default reports will execute perfectly as before.

  • Getting the regular expression from the given text

    Hi
    I need to develope an application which can convert the given text into the regular expression. I need that when i enter any text in textarea that should be translated into regular expression in another panel. but i could not find the method or technique which can do so. plz help me to resolve this issue.
    Thanks Imran khan.

    well, there are an infinite number of regular expressions for an arbitrary piece of text, so you will have to qualify in your mind what the purpose of the regular expression is.
    For instance, it is trivial to create a regex for a string just by copying the input text, and inserting \ before any special characters. But this pattern would probably be quite silly.

  • What is the regular expression for "__" ?

    I just read through String and Pattern API, can't figure it out.
    I want to go:
    String.replaceFirst("__", "_");
    i.e., replace the first 'double under-score' with a single underscore.
    But it "__" is now a regular expression. Please help ! Thanks.

    My mistake was I though it would change the
    string...
    text.replace(...)
    should be
    text = text.replace(...)A frequent mistake. I didn't notice, since I was focused on the regex aspect of the question.

  • Re:java regular expression for website

      Hi All,
    I am using jdeveloper 11.1.2.3.0
    My requirement is that I have a website  attribute I need the regular expression for the website attribute
    to display the format www.google.com  www.oracle.com.
    Thanks,
    Sandeep

    Hi Sandeep,
    you can use the below code for website validation.
    <af:inputText label="" id="time" simple="true" value="" contentStyle="width:100px;" maximumLength="100">
          <af:validateRegExp pattern="^www[.][a-z]{1,15}[.](com|org)$"
                         messageDetailNoMatch="Website must be like www.google.com"
                                                                                                   hint="Website Format: www.google.com"/>
        </af:inputText>
    as per your requirement you can change the pattern.

  • How to get the meaning of the regular expression?

    Hello All,
    I want to know how to get the meaning of the regular expression?
    The requirement is i need to get the regular expression for some of the attributes and if the value is not matching with that regular expression then i need to give the popup saying the limitation of the attribute. but i need to give the pop up with the user understanding format.
    Like "please give a to z or 1 to 9" like that.
    So is there any way Java will help me to get the meaning of the regular expression?
    Thank You!
    Arun S

    I'm not aware of any such tool or library.
    Also, it would be a terrible "explanation", because regular expressions (similar to other programming languages) have their own "style" of defining what to enter and that usually doesn't translate well into natural language.
    For example the regex "[a-z][a-z0-9]*\s+[a-z0-9]+" could be translated as "a to z, followed by zero or more characters from a to z or 0 to 9 followed by any amount of whitespace followed by one or more characters from a to z or 0 to 9".
    Or you could simply say "Please enter two alphanumeric words, the first one must not start with a number".
    My suggestion: store/configure the human-readable description together with the regex. Don't try to automate it.

  • Dilimit  the regular expression

    How could I delimit the regular expression with the pound sign (#) and then use a single quote within the expression.
    Can someone give some explamples.
    As the regular expressions are enclosed within quotes, and I have a single quote in string also how would i be able to specify it by dilimiting the regular expression with a # sign.
    Thanks

    Hi,
    Not sure I understand the issue you're facing, but I think using q quoting might help:
    SQL> with t as (
      2  select 'abcd ''1234''' str from dual)
      3  -- end of sample data
      4  select str, regexp_substr(str, q'#'1234'#') str from t;
    STR         STR
    abcd '1234' '1234'The # symbol now encloses the string in the example above.
