What is the sequence and scenario to  apply these commands

analyze table table_name compute statistics.
analyze index ind_name compute statistics
analyze partition part_name compute statistics
analyze table table_name validate structure.
alter table tab_name index rebuild.

analyze (table|index) <name> compute statistics - Use on small tables/indices to keep statistics updated for the CBO to use. DBMS_STATS is preferred (does it in parallel, more functionality)
analyze partition part_name compute statistics - Correct syntax is 'ANALYZE TABLE <name> PARTITION (pname) COMPUTE STATISTICS'. It's used to analyze individual table partitions to keep statistics update for CBO to use. DBMS_STATS is preferred (does it in parallel, more functionality)
analyze table table_name validate structure - Does a validation on the table to detect logical block corruption. Used in situations where you suspect such as situation has occured.
alter table tab_name index rebuild - Syntax is 'ALTER INDEX <name> REBUILD'. Is used to rebuild an index to reclaim space and improve performance (by eliminating fragmentation and reducing blocks used). This is a very hotly debated topic but I have seen situations where b*tree indices do benefit, but my experience has been that bitmaps benefit the most. I'll leave it at that, anyone else can (and will) argue this point.
Hope this helps.

  • What is the correct way to use Version Information from the sequence and from the deployment tool

I seem to be missing something in how the various version numbers are supposed to be used.    My end goal is to log and possibly display in the UI the version of the sequence and which installer version was used to inspect a UUT.   I have gotten most of the way there using:
How Can I Programmatically Query the Sequence File Version of My TestStand Sequence?
and logging this into the report with a function which contains:
    Parameters.UUT.AdditionalData.SetValString("Test Version",1,RunState.SequenceFile.Data.Version),
    Parameters.UUT.AdditionalData.SetFlags("",0,PropFlags_IncludeInReport)
The "Deployment Version" in the TestStand Deployment Utility auto incrementing the 3rd position of a version number  while the sequence auto increment is working on the 4th.
My first question is are these 2 version numbers in anyway supposed to be related to each other?   As it seems to me you would want those 2 reversed, I can make several installers based on sequence version X, making changes to what supporting files are also installed.
If they are not related as I suspect that they are not.  How do I programatically grabed the installer version and also log that into the result report?
is there an option to perform a custom deployment build step to log the deployment version before it builds and then reference that log at runtime of the test?

    Hi,
The sequence file version and deployment versions are not related.
You can build the installer with whatever version you want using the command line :

  • What are the sequence steps involved in MM FLOW

what are the sequence steps involved in MM FLOW?
    please explain.

    Process Flow
The typical procurement cycle for a service or material consists of the following phases:
    1. Determination of Requirements
Materials requirements are identified either in the user departments or via materials planning and control. (This can cover both MRP proper and the demand-based approach to inventory control. The regular checking of stock levels of materials defined by master records, use of the order-point method, and forecasting on the basis of past usage are important aspects of the latter.) You can enter purchase requisitions yourself, or they can be generated automatically by the materials planning and control system.
    2. Source Determination
The Purchasing component helps you identify potential sources of supply based on past orders and existing longer-term purchase agreements. This speeds the process of creating requests for quotation (RFQs), which can be sent to vendors electronically via SAP EDI, if desired.
    3. Vendor Selection and Comparison of Quotations
The system is capable of simulating pricing scenarios, allowing you to compare a number of different quotations. Rejection letters can be sent automatically.
    4. Purchase Order Processing
The Purchasing system adopts information from the requisition and the quotation to help you create a purchase order. As with purchase requisitions, you can generate Pos yourself or have the system generate them automatically. Vendor scheduling agreements and contracts (in the SAP System, types of longer-term purchase agreement) are also supported.
    5. Purchase Order Follow-Up
The system checks the reminder periods you have specified and - if necessary - automatically prints reminders or expediters at the predefined intervals. It also provides you with an up-to-date status of all purchase requisitions, quotations, and purchase orders.
    6. Goods Receiving and Inventory Management
Goods Receiving personnel can confirm the receipt of goods simply by entering the Po number. By specifying permissible tolerances, buyers can limit over- and under deliveries of ordered goods.
    7. Invoice Verification
The system supports the checking and matching of invoices. The accounts payable clerk is notified of quantity and price variances because the system has access to PO and goods receipt data. This speeds the process of auditing and clearing invoices for payment.
Pur info record is nothing but a master data like thing which will be maintained for different materials to determine the prices etc.It Specifies the number that uniquely identifies a record.
For Example: an info record is based on Plant Vendor and Material
Based on these three the Material Prices will be calculated
for different combinations different values are taken into consideration.
During pricing it brings these values automatically based on this info record.
Use ME11 Tcode to create this record.

  • What is the  Merits and De-Merits if we choose Item or Service Items.

    Hi,
Please guide me what are the merits and de merits if we choose Items or Service Items when we are adding AR Invoice under AR Modules.we are using SAP B1 43.
Item: Item to create a sales document for items defined in the Inventory module
Service Item:Service to create a sales document for a service that has not been defined as an Item in SAP Business One, such as a one-time consultation. please share your points.
    Regds,
    Samapth Kumar Devunuri.

    Hi Samapth,
It is clear based on the definition you known.  Depending on you business process, the more of the item types, the better.  That is because you can do all kinds of analysis and breakdown the accounting details easily.  Service types are usually only applied to one time or small amount sales.
    Thanks,

    Hi all,
1.What are the pros and cons of installing java+abap stack for portal?
2.what effect it does on the ume options to be choosen??
3.for the purpose of integration of r3,bw and crm on portal and crm 4.0 60.2.3 business package which option of stack(java or abap or both)will be good option and which ume option while installation should be choosen?
    regards
    Rajendra

    Hi Rajendra,
The NetWeaver Installation Master Guide offers some good scenarios on the pros and cons:
    https://websmp201.sapag.de/~sapidb/011000358700005412792005E.pdf
    In a nutshell:
    ABAP+JAVA
    Pros
    - Decrease # of servers required to administer the portal
    - Less costly
    Cons
    - Upgrades could be dependent on ABAP and Java release level
    - Additional load on the server due to ABAP stack
    - Limited scalability
JAVA and ABAP on separate server
    Pros
    - Improved performance
    - Allows each system to be single-use purpose therefore downtime does not affect other components
    - More scalable
    Cons
    - Adds complexity to landscape
    - Additional costs

  • What determines the price and tax for consignment stock?

    Hi All,
anyone knows how the price and tax are calculated for consignment stock? in other word, among the info record , contract or material master, what determines the price and the tax calculation for consignment stock?
please advise, your input will be rewarded.
    thanks,

    Ravi,
I have almost same Nancy's problem. I change tax code indicator on ME12 from N0 to N2, after that, I made the invoice verification on MRKO for a consignment material, however tax code N0 (original) was taked for the withdrawal.
    I followed up notes:
Note 87860 - Consignment: determining tax code as of 4.0
140675 - Consignment: Determination of tax code transition
But these notes doesn't apply for 4.7. Do you know any note that apply on this version?
    Thanks in advance.

  • What is the proper and best way to destroy a java.util.List or Array for GC

    Hi,
If I have a java.util.List of objects lets say:
List<File> files = new ArrayList();The List contains 1000 file objects. When my class finishes, is it enough to do
files = null;to make GC able to release it from memory?
Cause it seems like I can't do the following:
    for(int i = 0; i < extracted_files.size(); i++){
                extracted_files.get(i) = null;
}Or should I use this one:
files.clear()What is the proper and best way to do this in order to avoid memory leaks? How about normal Arrays like File[]?
Edited by: TolvanTolvanTolvan on 2009-sep-10 16:58

    TolvanTolvanTolvan wrote:
    Thanks for the info!
But what if the List is a class variable running in a Web Service for like months without terminating? You mean if the List variable is a member variable of a long-lived object? Then presumably the list needs to live as long as the object does. In the unlikely scenario that the object needs to live on but its list member variable does not, then yes, setting the member to null will be needed to make the list eligible for GC. But I highly doubt this is your situation, and if it is, you probably have a design flaw.
And if the list is referenced only by a local variable, then, as I already said, when the method ends, the variable goes out of scope, and the List is eligible for GC.
Now, a slightly different situation is when the List needs to live a long time, and at some point during its life, you're done using some object that it refers to. In that situation, simply remove the element from the list (or set the element to null if it's an array rather than a list), and then if it's not referenced anywhere else, it can be GCed.
How about Arrays like File[]? Do I need to iterate through the array and null all the objects or is it enough to just null the Array?YOU. DON'T. NEED. TO. HELP. GC. You don't need to set the elements to null, and you most likely don't even need to set the array variable to null.
Also note that only references can be null, not objects.

  • What are the adv and disadv of using SRM as an addon?

    Hi Friends
what are the adv and disadv of using SRM as an addon
    Regards
    Simha

    Hi Simha,
Here are my view points on SRM and ECC one client deployment: The decison to have one client for SRM and ECC is more driven by the business model of the client and functionalities one need out of SRM .Following points needs to considered before deployment:
    1) ERP and SRM as an add-on does not support any multiple-backend functions or hub deployment for procurement.
    2) Upgrade or migration from SRM system to ERP with SRM as add-on is not supported
    3) Strategic sourcing scenarios in SRM are not used by clients with such deployments
    4) Although SRM is running on the same client as ECC the purchasing organization have to be maintained in both MM and SRM system
    5) From HR Orgstructure stand point there is no additional benifit in same client deployment as compared to seperate deployment
    6) From Security stand point its better to have a seperate client for SRM-vendor registration as this functionality is exposed to outside world and internet.
    7) Master Data Synchronization is a positive point which is only available within the SRM Add-on deployment with ECC
    8) For SRM and ECC (seperate) master data management remains asynchronous and unidirectional

  • Upgrading from 10.4.11 to 10.7. What are the steps and do I also need to pay for 10.5 and 10.6 along the way?

Hi. I wannt to upgrade from 10.4.11 to 10.7.
What are the steps and do I also need to pay for 10.5 and 10.6 along the way?
According to the 10.7 lion page on 'store' it says that you need 10.6 to use it does this mean I'm going to have to do 3 upgrades?
    Thanks

    Why do yoy want Lion/10.7???
Anyway, if your Mac meets the requirements you can skip 10.5.x, and even 10.6.x if you can afford to erase all your data.
    Snow Leopard/10.6.x Requirements...
    General requirements
       * Mac computer with an Intel processor
        * 1GB of memory (I say 4GB at least)
        * 5GB of available disk space (I say 30GB at least)
        * DVD drive for installation
        * Some features require a compatible Internet service provider; fees may apply.
        * Some features require Apple’s MobileMe service; fees and terms apply.
Which apps work with Mac OS X 10.6?...
    http://snowleopard.wikidot.com/
It looks like they might still have it...
    http://store.apple.com/us/product/MC573Z/A?fnode=MTY1NDAzOA
    If it's a core Duo & not a Core2Duo, then it'll only run in 32 bit mode.
    Lion/101.7 System requirements
        •    x86-64 processor (Macs with an Intel Core 2 Duo, Intel Core i3, Intel Core i5, Intel Core i7, or Xeon processor.)
        •    At least 2GB of memory[14]
        •    Latest version of Mac OS X Snow Leopard (10.6.8), with the Mac App Store installed
        •    At least 4GB of disk space for downloading[14]
Like Snow Leopard, Lion does not support PowerPC-based Macs (e.g., Power Macs, PowerBooks, iBooks, iMacs (G3-G5), eMacs).
Lion also does not support 32-bit Intel Core Duo or Core Solo based Macs. Rosetta is no longer available in Lion, which means Lion no longer supports PowerPC applications.

hi to all can u pls teell
can u pls tell what r the currency and quantity fields in detail.
what is reference table .and reference fields .why we r giving theese reference table names while creating the currency fields .

    Hi,
Currency amount fields and quantity fields are numeric fields which each have a currency or unit field assigned to them. The correct interpretation of the values in these fields depends on its currency or unit of measure. Therefore, you can decide whether you want their corresponding currency/unit of measure to be displayed before or after the field, or not at all. Proceed as follows:
    1. Select the field.
    2. Choose one of the options from the window on the lower left (before, No currency field/unit, or after).
    3. Choose Apply.

    Hi Dhanush,
your authorizations will be decided depends on your role in your team.
yes you will have authorization for creating name space ,but your bussiness system will be created by Basis pesron and assign it to your scenario.
Business System is a logical entity which represents logical view of your technical system. (eg a client in R3 system can be respresented as business system in SLD) For one technical system you can have multiple business systems.
Look in to these links for detalis of bussiness systems.

Compare the strengths and limitations of the Web Parts
It’s important that you understand the strengths and limitations of the two Web Parts because if you choose the wrong one, your site could run into performance problems. You can use both Web Parts to show content that is based on a query. In a simplified
world, here’s how you can decide between the two:
Use the CQWP when you have a limited amount of content, your query is simple, and you don’t expect your content to grow much in the future.
Use the CSWP in all other scenarios when you want to show content that is based on a query.

Everytime I want to find it to post it for someone else, I have to Google: "cnet quicken 2007 for lion" and then in top listed link: Topper Kessler's review for CNET, I find the direct link to Intuit
This program will work with Quicken 2005, 2006 and 2007 data files directly.  If you have a data file from an older version, such as I did, Quicken Deluxe 2002, you must use the PPC version of either Quicken 2006 or 2007 to update the data first; and then the data will work in Quicken 2007 for Lion.
For other PPC programs that require Rosetta, I installed Snow Leopard (with Rosetta) into Parallels 7 in Lion:
