What is the use of History Brush Tool?

"The History Brush takes the power of the History panel and lets you focus it on
specific parts of an image. So instead of sending the entire image back in time, you
can use this brush to paint edits away selectively, revealing the previous state of
your choosing. For example, you could darken a portrait with the Burn tool
and then use the History Brush to undo some of the darkening if you went too
    far."

  • What is the use of Node Manager?

    OBIEE Oracle Business Intelligence 11.1.1.5
I have started up the WebLogic server which delivers the WL Server Admin Console as well as the Fusion Middleware Control.
I have ignored NodeManager. It hasnt been started.
What is the use of NodeManager?
    Oracle tells us:
Note: In order to start the Managed Server using the WebLogic Server Administration Console, the Node Manager must be running.
    http://download.oracle.com/docs/cd/E21043_01/bi.1111/e10541/components.htm
But my Manged Server is running ok - I can check http://<host>:7001/console and its ok.
So why do I need to bother with NodeManager?
I only have WLS and OHS installed - no BI instance.

As I have installed weblogic server 10.3.5 on windows. while am starting it using cmd am getting two ips as
1**.*.... for weblogic server one is (channel default 4... .. and one is default 1) kindly explain.
    - It doesn't generate any IP. If you have installed successfully, weblogic will run on your system and it's ip will remain same. You can access it using your systems'IP:portnumber
Also tell as I have to use cmd for starting servers how can i use unix commands for the same??
    - You have installed on windows so unix command won't work for you. You can either start by going into services window in windows or start using command by going to path weblogichome\domains\domainname\bin. Execute startWebLogic.cmd
Also explain what is the use of node manager and weblogic scripting tool which are also installed in the system.
    - Node manager is used for communication bentween two or more servers in a domain.
As am looking to install OIM 11g so kindly tell what are all the things I need to know about weblogic so that i can learn OIM easily.
    - To install OIM, install weblogic, install oracle database. Use RCU utilities to create database and then install SOA, OIM and configure them. You can get all kinds of guides and steps for OIM 11g r2 here:

  • What is the use of at-exit in mudule pool

    hi
what is the use of at-exit in mudule pool. what is the use when we keep the function type as 'E' for a function code

AT EXIT-COMMAND lets you call a module before the system executes the automatic fields checks.
Automatic field checks can be avoided through AT EXIT-COMMAND, which works exactly the same way as CANCEL works from standard tool bar.  In the R/3 screen, if your want to quit the processing of that particular screen without entering the mandatory fields then user can click the CANCEL button, same functionality can be incorporated in the user defined transaction by usine AT EXIT-COMMAND.  This module can be called before the system executes the automatic field checks.
Code for AT EXIT-COMMAND in flow logic and in module pool program can be written as follows.
    In Flow Logic:
    PROCESS AFTER INPUT.
    MODULE EXIT AT EXIT-COMAND.
    In Module Pool Program:
    MODULE EXIT.
    case okcode.
    when 'EXIT'.
    leave to screen 0.
    ENDMODULE.
To achieve this kind of functinality, the pushbutton or menu item should be assigned a function type 'E' (Exit).  It tells the system to process this particular module before carrying out any field checks.

  • What is the Use of Text Module Radio buton in Smartforms

    Hi all,
What is the Use of Text Module Radio buton in Smartforms T - code ? How can we link this to our form ?
    Thanks in advance
    KR

    Text modules
Text modules are used to centrally store texts that are used frequently in forms in the system.
Text modules are included in forms using texts nodes. The text node can either refer to the text module or take its text. You can then change the text or add to it to suit the form.
Text modules have the following attributes:
    They are client-independent
They are connected to the transport system
They are connected to the translation tools in the system
The third attribute means that a text module can be uniquely assigned to a language using the logon language. When including a text module, you can also access translations of the text module, for example, to include an English text module in a German form.

  • What is the use of change pointer technique in IDOC

    hi
    could anybody suggest me
what is the use of change pointer technique and how to use it
    thank you
    kalyan.

Change pointers are used for changes to the master data objects are flagged for distribution by SMD Tool.i.e.shared Master Data.
You need change pointers to distribute changes with the ALE SMD tool. If you do not use this tool, you do not need to write change pointers.
You can deactivate change pointers and activate them again with the transaction BD61
The SMD tool is connected to the change document interface. If the master data changes are to be distributed, the application writes a change document. The contents of this are passed to the SMD tool. The tool writes change pointers, reads the application data and creates the master IDoc.
The master IDoc is then passed to the ALE layer, which sends it to all interested systems.
The change pointer tables (BDCP und BDCPS) should be as small as possible. Use as few change pointers as possible and delete change pointers which you no longer need.
You can increase the rate of processing by using the Analyze Change Pointer and Reorganize Change Pointer functions.

what is the use of variant in the alv report

    Hi,
    For Variants
    follow the link:
    http://help.sap.com/search/highlightContent.jsp
Variants allow you to save sets of input values for programs that you often start with the same selections. You can use them for any programs except subroutine pools (type S).

Running a Program with a Variant
    Variants: Overview
    Use
Whenever you start a program in which selection screens are defined, the system displays a set of input fields for database-specific and program-specific selections. To select a certain set of data, you enter an appropriate range of values.
For further information about selection screens, see Working with selection screens in the ABAP User's Guide.
If you often run the same program with the same set of selections (for example, to create a monthly statistical report), you can save the values in a selection set called a variant.
You can create any number of variants for any program in which selection screens are defined. Variants are assigned exclusively to the program for which they were created.
You can also use variants to change the appearance of the selection screen by hiding selection criteria. This is particularly useful when you are working with large selection screens on which not all of the fields are relevant.
Reports, module pools, and function groups may have several selection screens. It is therefore possible to create a variant for more than one selection screen.
Variants are an interface between the user and the selection screen. They can be used both in dialog and in background mode, although their uses are slightly different.
    Variants in Dialog Mode
In dialog mode, variants make things easier for the user, since they save him or her from continually having to enter identical values. They can also make the selection screen easier to read, because you can use them to hide input fields. Running an executable program with a variant containing an optimal set of values also reduces the capacity for user error. The optimized database selections speed up the runtime of the program.
    Variants in Background Mode
Variants are the only method for passing values to a report program in a background job. Therefore, when you run a program in the background, you must use a variant (or SUBMIT... VIA JOB). To avoid you having to create a new variant each time you run the report, ABAP contains a mechanism allowing you to pass variable values to variants. See variable values in variants.
To ensure that an executable program is always started using a variant, you can specify in the program attributes that the program may only be started in this way.
    Features
    Creation of variants
Display, change, copy, print, and delete variants
Use and definition of variables in variants
    Variable date calculation
    User-specific fixed values
    Fixed values in table TVARV
You access the variant maintenance tool from the initial screen of the ABAP Editor. Enter the name of the program, select Variants in the Sub-objects group box, and then choose Display or Change.
    Functions
The above screen allows you to:
    Create variants
    Display the variant directory
Display and change values and attributes
    Copy, delete, and rename variants
Before creating a new variant for a program, you should check whether you can use or adapt an existing variant instead.
There are two ways to display variants:
Position the cursor on the Variant field on the initial screen and press F4. The following dialog box lists all of the available variants:
Choose Variants ® Directory on the initial screen:
    Creating Variants
    Prerequisites
You must have defined one or more selection screens for the relevant program. The program may have any type except type S.
    Procedure
On the initial screen of the ABAP Editor, enter the name of the program for which you want to create a variant, select Variants in the Sub-objects group box, and choose Change.
On the variant maintenance initial screen, enter the name of the variant you want to create.
Note the naming convention for variants (see below).
    Choose Create.
If the program has more than one selection screen, a dialog box appears in which you can assign the variant to one or more screens. The dialog box does not appear if the program only has one selection screen. In this case, the selection screen of the program appears straight away.
If there is more than one selection screen, select the screens for which you want to create the variant.
    Example:
If you choose Variant for all selection screens, the variant also applies to any selection screens that you create after creating the variant.
Otherwise, the variant only supplies values to the selection screens that you select in the list.
    Choose Continue.
The (first) selection screen of the program appears.
If your program has more than one selection screen, use the scroll buttons in the left-hand corner of the application toolbar to navigate between them. If you keep scrolling forwards, the Continue button appears on the last selection screen.
Enter the required selections, including multiple and dynamic selections.
    Choose Continue.
    Result
When you have finished, an overview screen appears (ABAP: Save Attributes of Variant), on which you can enter the attributes of your variant and save it.
Note that when you create a new variant, you must enter both values and attributes.
Names of variants: Names can consist of up to 14 alphanumeric characters. The "% " character is not allowed. If you want the variant to be transported automatically with its program, you must create a system variant. The name of a system variant starts "CUS&" for customers, and "SAP&" for SAP system variants. You can only use the "&" character within this prefix in the name of a system variant. It may not occur in any other context. System variants are administered by the Workbench Organizer. Although you can create and access variants from any client, they are always stored in client "000".

what is the use of guid in crm.
there is nothing like this in r/3.if the data is to flow in from r/3 to crm or crm - r/3 is do we verify the guid.partner guid or product guid.
    please make me understand this.

GUIDs are system generated unique keys which identifies CRM objects (campaigns, sales documents, business partners, products etc.). CRM & MSA works on GUIDs. Most of the table relationships are defined on GUIDs.
    Important CRM tables:
    COMM_PRODUCT : Products
    CRMC_T077D : customer account groups
CRMD_ORDERADM_H (for header) CRMD_ORDERADM_I (Item data)
    CRMD_ORDERADM_H Business Transactions CRM
    CRMD_ACTIVITY_H Activity
    CRMD_OPPORT_H Opportunity
    BUTOO : Customer details

    BUT100 BP: Roles
BUT150 BP relationship: Attribute table (test

    COMM_HIERARCHY Category Hierarchy
COMP_TYPES Hierarchy Tool: Comparison Type Check
    Table
    CRMC_CPRICPROC Customer Pricing Procedures
    SMOKVBEZ15 Assignment employees to positions
All transactions are uniquely identified by their guids internally
    Transaction numbers are not unique
System calls a function module GUID_CREATE to create a unique GUID everytime you create a transaction.
Whenever you are creating some transaction programatically you will have to first create a unique GUID for the transaction by calling GUID_CREATE.

Repeated start/stop or redeploy causes memory leak (7393267)
Repeated start/stop or redeploy of an application causes memory to leak and the server has to be restarted to clean up the memory. New applications created in JDeveloper 11.1.1.0.1 will be configured with a Weblogic Application Lifecycle Listener to handle this scenario. For older applications migrated to 11.1.1.0.1, the listener will need to be manually added to the weblogic-application.xml of the application to solve this issue.
    <listener>
    <listener-class>oracle.adf.share.weblogic.listeners.ADFApplicationLifecycleListener</listener-class>
    </listener>

  • What is the use  implemention of work flow

    Hi guis,
can u plz tell me what is the uses, u implement a workflow, and also please give the one scenrio on purchase order or invoice or anything, one scenrio explain me.

Workflow is a tool for automating the business process so that the process itself flows smoothly, without bottlenecks and without dead ends. Critical parts of the process can be streamlined with deadline monitoring and contingency options. Participants are informed of milestones in the process. The process definition itself is powerful enough to allow business re-engineering with re-training and to eliminate the impact of workforce changes on the basic business process.
SAP Business Workflow is the R/3 tool for handling the process automation within R/3 or between R/3 systems and other systems involved in the business process. It is flexible enough to handle ad hoc processes such as the circulation of an electronic document. It is robust enough to handle mission critical process in the production system such as the creation of a material master.
The different R/3 applications supply standard workflows for the commonly occurring processes. Once these workflow templates are activated, they are ready for immediate use. A complete set of workflow tools, including the workflow editor and workflow generation wizard, are provided to enhance these standard workflows or create new workflows. These tools are complemented with transactions for monitoring, tracking and the statistical analysis of the processes.
Because the business process often does not step at the R/3 boundary, various interfaces and third party tools are available for extending the process across systems.
Workflow is the technique for automating business processes. It is particularly beneficial
u2022 when different people are involved in different parts of the process
u2022 when a process only occurs sporadically and the users need to be reminded of what they need to do
u2022 when the duration of the process is critical and deadlines have to be met
u2022 when the process definition is likely to change on the fly and retraining users is not possible.
By automating the process, you free the users from having to know what to do when. Work items are sent to the participants notifying them of what they have to do, and a single click on the notification calls the correct transaction and navigates to the relevant screen.
When the workflow runs it creates work items which are like e-mails, but
u2022 they have the advantage that they contain the intelligence needed to execute the relevant task with the correct data when the operational user executes them,
u2022 they provide their own functionality so that the operational user has access to everything that is useful to improve the flow of the process,
u2022 they disappear on their own when they have been executed by someone else or made obsolete.
These work items can be received in the R/3 business workplace, MS Outlook (or any other MAPI compatible client), Lotus Notes, or work item notifications can be distributed by e-mail.
    SAP Business Workflow:
u2022 accelerates the workflow across applications, functional areas, organizational units, and time periods,
u2022 supplements the integrated management of processes in the SAP System with individually tailored options for automating and actively controlling business and communication processes,
u2022 combines integrated organizational management with flexible assignment of tasks and responsibilities to locations, positions, jobs, groups, or individuals,
u2022 actively supports a quick implementation of workflow technologies through predefined workflow templates, Workflow Wizards and flexible adjustment options,
u2022 integrates every employee in the value chain by providing a versatile integrated inbox ("universal inbox") at their work centers that can be configured individually,
u2022 provides a Workflow Information System that is the foundation for process change management and continuous business engineering,
u2022 was designed to be a change-management tool,
u2022 simplifies continuous business engineering and process change management with user-friendly tools for defining and dynamically changing workflow tasks
u2022 conforms to the workflow standards of the Workflow Management Coalition (WfMC)
u2022 interfaces to other mail clients such as Lotus Notes and MS Outlook

  • What is the use of BI ACCELERATOR

What is the use of BI ACCELERATOR

    Hi,
    B.I Accelerator
BI accelerator is a separate hardware which when attached to BW server creates an index on data of infocube and stores in compressed format.Different technologies are used for compression and horizontal pratitioning of data.
BI Accelerator can benefit businesses that have high volumes of data. The read
performance of BI queries is greatly improved using BI Accelerator. This new
tool enables quick access to any data with a low amount of administrative effort
and is especially useful for sophisticated scenarios with unpredictable query types,
high data volume and high frequency of queries.
BI Accelerator is also useful when aggregates or database indexes are not
sufficient, or when these methods become too complex or too costly to maintain.
For example, it may not be practical or cost effective to create and maintain all the
aggregates that are needed to support performance for all queries for an InfoCube.
    BI Accelerator Pre requisites
-->BI Accelerator must run on a Suse Linux Enterprise Server 9.
-->An RFC Destination must be created between the BI System and BIA.
-->BI InfoCubes that contain non-cumulative key figures are not supported by BI Accelerator at this time.
-->BI Accelerator requires SAP Netweaver 2004s SP4 or higher.
There are two major components in the BI Accelerator architecture that contribute
    to the high performance:
    . BI Accelerator Engine
    . BI Accelerator Indexes
The BI accelerator is fast enough to aggregate BIA indexes during run time.
A BI Accelerator index contains lists of Index names, join conditions, join paths, view attributes, semantic relations, and key figures.
BI Accelerator indexes are independent indexes that store meta data, as well as, execute queries.
BI Accelerator is a very robust and stable environment that uses simple algorithms versus volatile DB optimizations.
    BI Accelerator is also model-driven:
integrates NetWeaver BI with the TREX search engine, BIA indexes are a special case of the ESA business object, distinctive SAP technology is leveraged.
    TREX and BI Accelerator
TREX : Search and classification engine, mainly for unstructured data
BI Accelerator is built using TREX technology (indexing, retrieving, compression ...) to handle structured data
Note: BI Accelerator and TREX are two different installations.
The BI Accelerator cannot be used for standard KMC functionality
A TREX installation cannot be used as a BI accelerator
Technically there is a lot of commonality but TREX-BI Accelerator role switching is not supported.
BI Accelerator index: Structure containing replicated data and indexes (one index per table) that
represents the BI star schema for the BI Accelerator
Indexing: Transfer of InfoCube data to the BI Accelerator server and
processing and compressing it into the BI Accelerator index.
To use a BI accelerator index for an InfoCube when you execute a query, you first
have to activate it and then fill it with data The system performs the following steps
in order to create an index
    Create
    Index
    Prepare optimize
    Commit optimize
    Advantage Of B.I Accelerator
Advantage of this is that whenever a query is executed ,Data is fetched from BI accelerator instead of reading of reading frm database reads.
Thus DB read time is 0 in total query run time leading to improved query performance and stable query response time.
Increased end-user satisfaction with consistently high query performance.
Significant reduction in the total cost of ownership: low maintenance, high scalability.
The performance gain using BI Accelerator can be very great, boosting the response time by a factor of 10-100
