What is the use of Offline Database Object in SOA

Hi All,
Can anyone let me know the purpose of Offline Database Object in SOA.
1) When we will create the Offline Database Object in soa ?
2) How do we connect this object to any data base schema ?
Note:- Please provide me the example on this
Thanks,

Hi Dominik,
        Thanks for the repy !!!!
Now, as you said we can access a (deep) node of the whole model using an access object.
Let us consider the component set ONEORDER. As seen we can use the following path to reach BTDocFlowAll using search object :-
BTQuery1O -> BTOrder  -> BTOrderHeader  -> BTHeaderDocFlowSet -> BTDocFlowSet -> BTDocFlowAll ....
Also, to reach BTDocFlowAll we can even use the access object as follows :-
BTAdminI -> BTItemDocFlowSet  -> BTDocFlowAll....
Now my question is :-
Normally we use the class cl_crm_bol_query_service to fire a search based on a search object. Can we use the same class to fire a search based on access object ?
(actually I currently dont have a CRM system so I could not try it out myself).
If not, then how do we fire a query using an access object ?

    ORA-16196: database has been previously opened and closed
    Cause: The instance has already opened and closed the database, which is allowed only once in its lifetime.
    Action: Shut down the instance.

    If you read the documentation you will see that there is no ALTER DATABASE CLOSE command.
    This is an undocumented Oracle command, which we are not supposed to use. Consequently we are not allowed to complain about the way that it works. Instead we're supposed to use SHUTDOWN IMMEDIATE.

  • What is the Use of  "Alter database activate standby database"

    Hi ,
    I appreciate your time.
    I just wanted to know what is the use of "Alter database activate standby database" command when doing the failover. How different it will act in failover process. Can we use this command in SwitchOver.
    Thanks in advance.

    Hi Uwe Hesse,
    Wonderfull... good info....
    So my understanding is that the use of "ACTIVATE PHYSICAL STANDBY DATABASE" is conditional and depends on the redo log gap and the Database status(Able to mount or not).
    Condition 1: If the Db is in Mount state and Redo log gap is successfully filled.
    1) Flush any unsent redo from the primary database to the target standby database.
    SQL> ALTER SYSTEM FLUSH REDO TO target_db_name;
    Note: If the above Statement Completes successfully without any errors.
    2) Stop Redo Apply.
    SQL> ALTER DATABASE RECOVER MANAGED STANDBY DATABASE CANCEL;
    3) Finish applying all received redo data.
    SQL> ALTER DATABASE RECOVER MANAGED STANDBY DATABASE FINISH;
    4) Verify that the target standby database is ready to become a primary database.
    SQL> SELECT SWITCHOVER_STATUS FROM V$DATABASE;
    5) Switch the physical standby database to the primary role.
    SQL> ALTER DATABASE COMMIT TO SWITCHOVER TO PRIMARY WITH SESSION SHUTDOWN;
    Condition 2: If the DB is not able Mount and Redo Gap can't be filled.
    Important Note: If the the above command in STEP3 gives error, some received redo data was not applied. Try to resolve the cause of the error and re-issue the statement before proceeding.
    If the error condition cannot be resolved, a failover can still be performed (with some data loss) by issuing the following SQL statement on the target standby database:
    SQL> ALTER DATABASE ACTIVATE PHYSICAL STANDBY DATABASE;
    Thanks in advance.

  • What is the use of various text objects in text determination

    Dear All,
    What is the use of various text objects in text determination.e.g the sale document header object(In this what we define and where that text is copied further) and
    other text objects i.e customer/accounting,billing header etc.
    Regards,
    Ashima

    Hi,
    To exchange information between the User and the System    as well as between the objects (Ex: Customer to Sales document, Sales document to Delivery Document) SAP uses Text Determination to determine or to propose Text. Text can be determined for objects like customer master, all documents, condition records, customer material info records, etc...

    In SAP i can see only temp. structure table SGOS_ATTA when i look for table information, so i dont know where to look for these files although i tried great selection of tables which either were empty

  • What is the use for lock object and how to use the lock objects

    Hi Guru's,
    I am new to ABAP .Can you please clarify the that what is the use of lock object and how to use the loct object .what is use of the Deque & Enque  function modules .

    hi ,
    below are some minfo about lock objects :
      Lock Objects
    These types of objects are used for locking the access to database records in table. This mechanism is used to enforce data integrity that is two users cannot update the same data at the same time. With lock objects you can lock table-field or whole table.
    In a system where many users can access the same data, it becomes necessary to control the access to the data. In R/3 system this access control is built-in on database tables. Developers can also lock objects over table records.
    To lock an object you need to call standard functions, which are automatically generated while defining the lock object in ABAP/4 dictionary. This locking system is independent of the locking mechanism used by the R/3 system. This mechanism also defines LUW i.e. Logical Unit of Work. Whenever an object is locked, either by in built locking mechanism or by function modules, it creates corresponding entry in global system table i.e. table is locked. The system automatically releases the lock at the end of transaction. The LUW starts when a lock entry is created in the system table and ends when the lock is released.
    Creating Lock Objects
    Lock object is an aggregated dictionary object and can be defined by using the following steps:
    o From initial data dictionary screen, enter the name for the object, Click Lock object radiobutton and then click on Create. The system displays a dialog box for Maintain Lock Objects screen
    o Enter short text as usual and the name for primary table.
    -Save
    -Select Tables option
    From this screen you can:
    Select secondary tables, if any, linked by foreign key relationship.
    Fields for the lock objects. This option allows you to select fields for objects (R/3 system allows locking up to record level). Lock object argument are not selected by user but are imposed by the system and includes all the primary keys for the table.
    1) Exclusive lock: The locked data can only be displayed or edited by a single user. A request for another exclusive lock or for a shared lock is rejected.
    2) Shared lock: More than one user can access the locked data at the same time in display mode. A request for another shared lock is accepted, even if it comes from another user. An exclusive lock is rejected.
    3) Exclusive but not cumulative: Exclusive locks can be requested several times from the same transaction and are processed successively. In contrast, exclusive but not cumulative locks can be called only once from the same transaction. All other lock requests are rejected.
    Also, last but not the least, locking the object is logical (locking with any enqueue ) .so, you have to use the lock object while trying to access from second program .
    reward if helpful ,

    Ranjita

  • What is the use of initial value in a database table?

    Hi can anyone help me in knowing what is the use of initial value which is present besides primary key while creating a table?

    Initial Value:
    Indicator that NOT NULL is forced for this field
    Use
    Select this flag if a field to be inserted in the database is to be filled with initial values. The initial value used depends on the data type of the field.
    Please note that fields in the database for which the this flag is not set can also be filled with initial values.
    When you create a table, all fields of the table can be defined as NOT NULL and filled with an initial value. The same applies when converting the table. Only when new fields are added or inserted, are these filled with initial values. An exception is key fields. These are always filled automatically with initial values.
    Restrictions and notes:
    The initial value cannot be set for fields of data types LCHR, LRAW, and RAW. If the field length is greater than 32, the initial flag cannot be set for fields of data type NUMC.
    If a new field is inserted in the table and the initial flag is set, the complete table is scanned on activation and an UPDATE is made to the new field. This can be very time-consuming.
    If the initial flag is set for an included structure, this means that the attributes from the structure are transferred. That is, exactly those fields which are marked as initial in the definition have this attribute in the table as well.
    hope it helps,
    Saipriya

  • What is the Use of Imported Archives in Mapping Objects

    Hi All,
    What is the Use of Imported Archives in Mapping Objects ( IR )
    Regards
    Vamsi

    Hi Vamsi,
    When we are doing JAVA , XSLT mappings we have to do import archievs
    after developing the JAva mapping in NWDS and create jar file come back to IR under imported archieves we will import the jar file.
    Similarly XSLT als make the zip and import under imported archieves
    Also when we have any java packages ,import it under archieves and make them to use in UDF

    congratulations you successfully opened 1000 new threads...
    adapters are components of the adapter engine, their main action is to connect different sysems with each other. therefore are different adapters:
    SAP-2-SAP Adapters: like IDoc and RFC
    SAP-2-NOT-SAP-ADapters: like JMS, JDBC, HTTP..
    and B2B Adapters...

  • What is the use of setting null values to Objects?

    What is the use of setting null values to Objects?
    regards,
    namanc

    It's more of a safety trap within java to handle the "programmers are still humans" exception.
    String myname;
    // print what???? Forgot to initialize the name!
    System.out.println(myname);Java will complain about myname not being initialized. It won't when you do this:
    String myname = null;
    // allright, your name is null
    System.out.println(myname);In the second case you are showing to java that you know what you are doing.

  • What is the use of passing object reference to itself ?

    What is the use of passing object reference to itself ?
    regards,
    namanc

    There is an use for returning an object reference from itself, for instance:
    class C {
    public:
         C append(C c) {
             // do something interesting here, and then:
             return this;
    }You can "chain" calls, like this:
    C c = new C();
    C d = new C();
    C e = new C();
    c.append (d).append (e);Maybe the OP has "inverted" the common usage, or thought about a static method of a class C that requires a parameter of type C (effectively being a sort of "non-static method").
    class C {
        static void doAnotherThing (C c) {
            c.doSomething(); //-- effectively C.doAnotherThing(c) is an "alternative syntax" for c.doSomething()

  • What is the use Business objects over WAD.

    Hi Folks,
    what is the use Business objects over WAD.
    How sap bw is going to use Business Objects.
    Thanks,
    Cheta.

    hi,
    A business object is a master record within the Measurement System, and is defined as part of the measurement class within Customizing.
    Examples of business objects are wells, well completions, and measurement points.
    Once the measurement object is maintained, it is saved with the business object so that when viewed, the measurement object is part of the business object.

  • 10g Rename Offline Database Object Broken

    I am trying to rename an offline database object. I opened the editor on the object, updated its name and the names of a few of its foreign keys. At first, it appeared to work. The object in the Navigator had the new name, and when I opened a diagram containing the object, all the new names appeared correctly. I saved everything, closed the IDE and reopened it (which is usually the way I get TopLink to correctly identify my changes). When I reopened the IDE, my offline db objects were back to their old names. I tried renaming them again, and this time when I hit the save icon, I got the following error:

    Hi John,
    Thank you for taking the time to reporting this problem that you have encountered. The exception you have listed below is the result of changes not being communicated correctly between your offline database object modeling diagram and the TopLink Mapping Editor. We have addressed this problem and the solution will be available for you in the next JDeveloper release. For the meantime, your best bet would be to make any necessary changes to your database model prior to mapping those tables. I know that this is not exactly ideal, but it will ensure that you do not encounter this problem. I hope this helps and let me know if I can provide you with any additional information.
    Thanks,

  • TP4 : big instability in offline database object edition and diagraming

    I encountered a lot of problems when editing offline database objects and in database diagraming.
    Foreign keys don't appear in diagram after creating it, i'm not able to delete a broken foreign key (the ok button don't react, i can only cancel my changes).
    It is no more possible to drag and drop attribute from a table to another table (copy).

    Peter,
    Glad to see you took my advice and posted your question over here. Although I am a frequent user of the Oracle usenet groups, I have found that this is a much better place to get help with Spatial. My experiences suggest that the population of people using spatial is small--and of them the ones that really know alot are few and far between. I can only claim to be in the former group.
    As far as your problem goes--this is probably something you've already considered--is there a way to model the data such that you don't have to replicate the geometry components? Another option would be to handle the replication without using snapshots. Examples would be to export the data and then ftp/copy it to the target machines and import it. If you need real-time replication you could experiment with triggers that execute INSERTs/UPDATEs/DELETEs on the remote databases. This of course has its own issues--but you're going to end up with some sort of compromise no matter how you slice this.
    Of course you could use the relational model. I have never used it so I'm hard pressed to give any advice on it. As I posted on the usenet board, it is heading for desupport in 9i Release 2 according to the documentation available. So if you go relational you'll eventually have to migrate to object/relational. I'm not sure how automatic (or non-automatic) that process is. Hopefully someone on here will have some more concrete advice on that.
    Good luck.
    Matt.
