What is the use of Single Sign On?
What is the use of Single Sign On? How is it different from simple session handling.
I am new to Portal Technology. I am not gettting the concept of Single Sign On.
Please can anyone brief about it.
Thanks
SSO will store all your sessions to every applications and also it can remember your login/passwords for each application and then pass them transparently.
In Application Server Portal is considered like a partner application and SSO is used when you connect to Portal.

What is the use of this form?
Hi all,
What is the use of this form in include RV61B901?
How does this code send any information to the program calling it? Is Sy-subrc global so that main program will know the reuslts?
Code:
FORM KOBED_901.
DATA : l_anzpk LIKE likp-anzpk.
SELECT SINGLE anzpk FROM likp
INTO l_anzpk
WHERE vbeln = komkbv2-vbeln.
IF l_anzpk NE 0.
sy-subrc = 4.
exit.
ENDIF.
sy-subrc = 0.
ENDFORM.
Thanks,
Charles.Hello,
This form sets the value of sy-subrc(which is global) based
on the value of l_anzpk.

What is the use of additon in up to 1 rows in SELECT statement
Hi All,
What is the use of up to 1 rows in select statement.
for example
SELECT kostl
FROM pa0001
INTO y_lv_kostl UP TO 1 ROWS
WHERE pernr EQ pernr
AND endda GE sy-datum.
ENDSELECT.
I'm unable to get in wat situations we hav to add up to 1 rows
please help me out...
Thanks,
santosh.Hi,
Use "select up to 1 rows" only if you are sure that all the records returned will have the same value for the field(s) you are interested in. If not, you will be reading only the first record which matches the criteria, but may be the second or the third record has the value you are looking for.
The System test result showed that the variant Single * takes less time than Up to 1 rows as there is an additional level for COUNT STOP KEY for SELECT ENDSELECT UP TO 1 ROWS.
The 'SELECT .... UP TO 1 ROWS' statement is subtly different. The database selects all of the relevant records that are defined by the WHERE clause, applies any aggregate, ordering or grouping functions to them and then returns the first record of the result set.

WHAT IS THE USE OF RETURN TABLE IN BW
Hi Gurus,
I would like to know what is the use of return table in bw.. can any one give me the perfect answer....
RameshHii
Imagine a situation where 1 record coming into a cube needs to be split into multiple records. Lets say you get values total values for sector in the PSA. Now you may want to partition that value based on the various sectors existing. In that case you can use a return table and split a single record into multiple records.
return table option is available in update rules

What is the use of SYSAUX Tablespace in Oracle 10G
Dear Experts,
Please Tell me What is the use of SYSAUX Tablespace in Oracle 10G Because
during Web Load Testing It is going to increase countinuosly.Although i am not using this with any tables.
How Can I find out the what is gong on in this.
Can I Remove this tablesspace and other non using Schemas like FLOWS_020100,MDSYS,OUTLN,DIP and TSMSYS etc. What is SYSAUX?
The SYSAUX tablespace provides storage of non-sys-related tables and indexes that traditionally were placed in the SYSTEM tablespace. For example, the tables and indexes that were previously owned by the system user can now be specified for a SYSAUX tablespace. Unfortunately, Oracle still places the SCOTT schema and the other demonstration schemas in the SYSTEM tablespace. Go figure.
The SYSAUX tablespace is specified with the CREATE DATABASE command. This is demonstrated in the example database creation script in Figure 1.1.
CREATE DATABASE test
MAXINSTANCES 1
MAXLOGHISTORY 1
MAXLOGFILES 5
MAXLOGMEMBERS 3
MAXDATAFILES 100
DATAFILE '/usr/oracle/OraHome1/oradata/aultdb1/test/system01.dbf' SIZE 300M REUSE AUTOEXTEND ON NEXT 10240K MAXSIZE UNLIMITED
EXTENT MANAGEMENT LOCAL
SYSAUX DATAFILE '/usr/oracle/OraHome1/oradata/aultdb1/test/sysaux01.dbf' SIZE 120M REUSE AUTOEXTEND ON NEXT 10240K MAXSIZE UNLIMITED
DEFAULT TEMPORARY TABLESPACE TEMP TEMPFILE '/usr/oracle/OraHome1/oradata/aultdb1/test/temp01.dbf' SIZE 20M REUSE AUTOEXTEND ON NEXT 640K MAXSIZE UNLIMITED EXTENT MANAGEMENT LOCAL
UNDO TABLESPACE "UNDOTBS1" DATAFILE '/usr/oracle/OraHome1/oradata/aultdb1/test/undotbs01.dbf' SIZE 200M REUSE AUTOEXTEND ON NEXT 5120K MAXSIZE UNLIMITED
CHARACTER SET WE8ISO8859P1
NATIONAL CHARACTER SET AL16UTF16
LOGFILE GROUP 1 ('/usr/oracle/OraHome1/oradata/aultdb1/test/redo01.log') SIZE 10240K,
GROUP 2 ('/usr/oracle/OraHome1/oradata/aultdb1/test/redo02.log') SIZE 10240K,
GROUP 3 ('/usr/oracle/OraHome1/oradata/aultdb1/test/redo03.log') SIZE 10240K
USER SYS IDENTIFIED BY "password" USER SYSTEM IDENTIFIED BY "password";
Oracle10g sysaux
With the new SYSAUX tablespace, Oracle comes closer to providing all the needed tablespaces for a truly OFA-compliant database right out of the box. With just one CREATE DATABASE command we can specify the SYSTEM tablespace, the TEMPORARY tablespace, the AUXSYS tablespace, the default UNDO tablespace, and the redo logs.
Of course, with the Oracle Managed Files option you can create an entire database with a single command, but the database created is not suitable for production use and is not OFA-compliant.
The SYSAUX tablespace is required in all new 10g databases. Only the SYSAUX tablespace datafile location is specified. Oracle specifies the remainder of the tablespace properties including:
online
permanent
read write
extent managment local
segment space management auto
If a datafile is specified for the SYSTEM tablespace, then one must be specified for the SYSAUX tablespace as well. If one is not specified, then the CREATE DATABASE command will fail. The only exception is for an Oracle Managed File system.
During any update of a database to Oracle Database 10g, a SYSAUX tablespace must be created or the upgrade will fail. The SYSAUX tablespace has the same security profile as the SYSTEM tablespace. However, loss of the SYSAUX tablespace will not result in a database crash, only the functional loss of the schemas it contains.
Can I drop SysAux?

What is the use of CTU_PRAMS in bdc programming?
what is the use of CTU_PRAMS in bdc programming?
can any explain wit a sample code.Hi,
Hi,
If u write table control bdc program in 14'' monitor screen, then if the same program u run at different monitor size, then the screen resolution problem comes in to the picture,
like, u get 5 records in table control in one screen, and some other records in other screen, to avoid this screen resolution problem we use CTU-PARAMS Structure.
In ur program u have to set
defsize type ctu_params-defsize value 'X',
Then u will be free of screen resolution problem.
Fill the str CTU_PARAMS-defsize = 'X' and pass in CTU stmnt as
call transaction 'XXX' options using t_bdcdata ctu_params.
Analysing :
1. If nothing works, then we have to
some ifs & buts.
2. There shall be normally
2-4 different kinds of resolution
on various users comptuers.
3. Based on this,
we have to know beforehand,
what will be the number of rows
in the table control.
4. The user can be given
a selection/paraemter
for resolution
eg. 800x600
1024x100
axb
etc.
5. Based on this, we will hardcode
in the program (based upon our knowledge/recording
which we have seen and done)
we will hardcode
the number of lines
in the VARIBLE.
6. Then we can simply use this variable
for our LOOP and logic purpose.
7. It will be the responsibiltiy of the
use to CHOOSE THE CORRECT resolution,
on the selection-screen.
For screen resolution use ctu_params, with default size
Data : f_option type ctu_params,
f_option-updmode = 'S'.
f_option-defsize = 'X'.
f_option-dismode = 'N'.
call transaction 'VA01' using bdcdata options from f_option messages into bdcerror.
CALL TRANSACTION tcode... OPTIONS FROM opt
... OPTIONS FROM opt
Effect
Allows you to control processing using the values of the componetns of the structure opt, which must have the ABAP Dictionary type CTU_PARAMS. The components have the following meanings:
DISMODE
Display mode (like the MODE addition)
UPDMODE
Update mode (like the UPDATE addition)
CATTMODE
CATT mode (controls a CATT)
CATT mode can have the following values:
' ' No CATT active
'N' CATT without single-screen control
'A' CATT with single-screen control
DEFSIZE
Use default window size
RACOMMIT
Do not end transaction at COMMIT WORK
NOBINPT
No batch input mode (that is, SY-BINPT = SPACE)
NOBIEND
No batch input mode after the end of BDC data.
The components DEFSIZE , RACOMMIT, NOBINPT, and NOBIEND always take the following values:
'X' Yes
' ' No
If you do not use the OPTIONS FROM addition, the following control parameter settings apply:
DISMODE
From addition MODE
UPDMODE
From addition UPDATE
CATTMODE
No CATT active
DEFSIZE
Do not use default window size
RACOMMIT
Successful end on COMMIT WORK
NOBINPT
Batch input mode active ( SY-BINPT = X
NOBIEND
Batch input mode remains active after the BDC data -
What is the use of t-rfc in ALE? compared to t-rfc, Qrfc is better and effi
what is the use of t-rfc in ALE? compared to t-rfc, Qrfc is better and efficient?
Hi Sunil,
These are the types of RFC
Asynchronous RFC (aRFC)
Synchronous RFC (sRFC)
Transactional RFC (tRFC)
Queued RFC (qRFC)
Parallel RFC (pRFC)
Asynchronous RFC :
This is used when you need to increase the performance of ABAP program by having system call more than one function module in parallel than forcing the program to wait for results .
Transactional RFC
This let you group one or more function module call together o tRFC LUW and ensure that fucnction module within LUW is called once . In contrast to aRFC and sRFC the tRFC belonging to tRFC LUW are executed in order .
tRFC is always used if a function is executed as a Logical Unit of Work (LUW). Within a LUW, all calls are
1.Executed in the order in which they are called
2.Executed in the same program context in the target system
3.Run as a single transaction: they are either committed or rolled back as a unit.
Implementation of tRFC is recommended if you want to guarantee that the transactional order of the calls is preserved
Asynchronous remote function calls (aRFCs) are similar to transactional RFCs, in that the user does not have to wait for their completion before continuing the calling dialog. There are three characteristics, however, that distinguish asynchronous RFCs from transactional RFCs:
When the caller starts an asynchronous RFC, the called server must be available to accept the request.
The parameters of asynchronous RFCs are not logged to the database, but sent directly to the server.
Asynchronous RFCs allow the user to carry on an interactive dialog with the remote system.
The calling program can receive results from the asynchronous RFC.
You can use asynchronous remote function calls whenever you need to establish communication with a remote system, but do not want to wait for the functions result before continuing processing. Asynchronous RFCs can also be sent to the same system. In this case, the system opens a new session (or window). You can then switch back and for between the calling dialog and the called session
RECEIVE RESULTS FROM FUNCTION Remotefunction is used within a FORM routine to receive the results of an asynchronous remote function call. The following receiving parameters are available:
IMPORTING
TABLES
EXCEPTIONS
The addition KEEPING TASK prevents an asynchronous connection from being closed after receiving the results of the processing. The relevant remote context (roll area) is kept for re-use until the caller terminates the connection.
Hope this resolves your query.
Reward all the helpful answers.

What is the use of points earned in apple support communities??
what is the use of points earned in apple support communities??
mende1 Valmojado, Toledo, Spain
This solved my questionRe: How the heck do you get points on your apple support communities account?
Jul 12, 2013 10:20 PM (in response to BMPU)
To get points, you have to answer questions. If the user that created the post tested your solution and it worked, he/she (may) give you a "This solved my question". As you can see in the right part of this page, a solved question adds 10 points to your account. If you helped solve the problem, you receive 5 points. On a single thread, the original poster can only give 1 "This solved my question" and 2 "This helped me", so you can receive a total of 20 points.
With these points, there are levels that you can see in this page > https://discussions.apple.com/static/apple/tutorial/reputation.html When you level up, you receive privileges like report posts, access to Community Calls... The most important level respecting to privileges is the level 6, that gives you access to a special forum called "The Lounge" (where you can talk about anything you want, complain about an user or report problems with the forum), and you also receive gifts from Apple and other privileges -
What is the use of Marker Interfaces?
What is the use of marker interfaces?
As it is not having any methods or fileds what is the benefit I will get by implementing those interfaces?
Servlet implements SingleThread
What it will do behind the scenes exactly as singleThread model is marker interfaceThe use of marker interfaces is to act as markers (shock horror)
It is quite a common way to tell a program what a class can/can't do: Cloneable, Serializable etc etc
This doesn't change the functionality of the class itself, but is more an indication as to what can be done with this class.
In this case the servlet container can then tell whether or not it implements the interface, and can treat it accordingly. Implementing this interface tells the container you want it to run this servlet in singleThreaded mode.
Thats all there is to it.
It would be along the lines of
Servlet servlet = loadServlet("...")
if (servlet instanceof SingleThreadModel){
// Single threaded servlet - start new process for it
else {
// regular servlet - reuse existing object. -
What is the use of transporting BEx query to production from development ?
Hi !
if create a query by copying an existing query and make some modification in production and sent it to client..and client is happy as it satisfies all his requirement .
Then what is the use of creating Bex query in development and transport it in quality and then to production if we can create directly in production ?Hi,
There is something called as SOX compliance..and three system landscape.
First of all you are not suppose to make changes to standard qeuries.
You can give it to the client a new copied query wirth required changes and it is very much accepted as well but how will it be tracked for future support.
Suppose there is a change in the underlying cube...this will affect all the queries and the new copied query which no one knows about will be affected too.How will you test it if its workinf fine with the new flow.
If you want to do the testing in production as well.... then you are not following SAP guidelines and may be you are violating the contract signed by you and your client.
Thanks

What is the use of Condition is Query Designer ??
What is the use of Condition in Query Designer ??
How to use condition in Query Designer ??Hi,
Conditions in a query can be defined for both characteristic combinations and key figures.
Characteristic combinations can be used using the ranking list functionality (e.g Top N or Last N customers with highest sales).
Key figures can be assigned the value limit conditions ( for e.g. display only rows in the query for which the key figure > 10 ).
For your specific requirements in which you need to display only a limited set based on the key figures, then you can go for conditions.
The conditions can be allowed to work on all the drill down characteristics independently, single characteristics or combination as well based on your requirement.
While execution the report, you can activate or deactivate the condition anytime by right clicking on the data cells.

What is the use P type variable in ABAP?
ex:
data <variable name > type p decimals 2.
here what is the use of declaring it to p type.
what is the difference between p type and float type.Hi,
using packed variable we can decide the length of number and number of decimals we want in o/p which is not possible with other types
Packed numbers - type P
Type P data allows digits after the decimal point. The number of decimal places is generic, and is determined in the program. The value range of type P data depends on its size and the number of digits after the decimal point. The valid size can be any value from 1 to 16 bytes. Two decimal digits are packed into one byte, while the last byte contains one digit and the sign. Up to 14 digits are allowed after the decimal point. The initial value is zero. When working with type P data, it is a good idea to set the program attribute Fixed point arithmetic.Otherwise, type P numbers are treated as integers.
You can use type P data for such values as distances, weights, amounts of money, and so on.
Floating point numbers - type F
The value range of type F numbers is 1x10*-307 to 1x10*308 for positive and negative numbers, including 0 (zero). The accuracy range is approximately 15 decimals, depending on the floating point arithmetic of the hardware platform. Since type F data is internally converted to a binary system, rounding errors can occur. Although the ABAP processor tries to minimize these effects, you should not use type F data if high accuracy is required. Instead, use type P data.
You use type F fields when you need to cope with very large value ranges and rounding errors are not critical.
Using I and F fields for calculations is quicker than using P fields. Arithmetic operations using I and F fields are very similar to the actual machine code operations, while P fields require more support from the software. Nevertheless, you have to use type P data to meet accuracy or value range requirements.
