What is the utility of watch point and break point in ABAP DEBUGGING !
PLEASE TELL ME IN DETAILS AND IF POSSIBLE WITH SCREEN SHOTS !
Hi,
Breakpoints, Watchpoints, and Checkpoints
Summary
The standard Breakpoints tool is always located on the Breakpoints desktop. With this tool, you can manage breakpoints, watchpoints and checkpoints. In addition, you can monitor the current status of the different breakpoint types.
Detailed Description
Breakpoints
In the Breakpoints area, you will see a list of all the breakpoints set so far. If one of the breakpoints has just been reached, this is marked with a yellow arrow. The visibility (Debugger, session, user) and type (line, ABAP command,
) is displayed for each breakpoint.
If you double click the Navigation() column, the system will display the breakpoint in the respective source code.
The visibility of a breakpoint can be changed through the dropdown list. To change the visibility of several breakpoints, mark them and select the pushbutton Save as Session Breakpoint or Save as User Breakpoint.
You can change the visibility of all Debugger breakpoints using the menu path Breakpoints-> Save Debugger BPs as -> ....
In addition, you have functions for creating, changing, activating and deactivating breakpoints at your disposal.
Watchpoints
In the Watchpoints area, you will see a list of all the watchpoints set so far. The watchpoint last set is highlighted with a yellow arrow.
For each watchpoint you will see not only the current value but the value before the last changed. (Technically speaking, each time you create the watchpoint and each time the watchpoint variable is changed, a clone of this variable is created.)
In this way, you can always determine what changes have been made to the monitored variable. For complicated data structures, such as internal tables or structures, select the pushbutton Compare Variables( ) and choose the Diff tool to compare the old and new variable values.
In addition, you have functions for creating, changing, activating and deactivating watchpoints at your disposal.
Checkpoints
In addition, you can edit conditional and unconditional checkpoints using the Breakpoints tool. This function is provided in the new Debugger only. Conditional checkpoints are set first in the source code using the ASSERTstatement; unconditional checkpoints are set using the BREAK-POINT statement. These have the effect that programs will be continued only if a preset condition is fulfilled. In the following window, these checkpoints can be searched for, activated, or deactivated.

What is watch point and break points?what are there types?
what is watch point and break points?what are there types?
Static Breakpoints
Static breakpoints are always user-independent if there is no specification of a user name. Once a user has inserted the statement BREAK-POINT or BREAK name in an ABAP program, the system always interrupts the program at that point for that user or only for the user name. This procedure is only useful in the development phase of an application when program execution is always to be interrupted at the same place. For more information, refer to the chapter Static Breakpoints.
In HTTP sessions, a static breakpoint is skipped if you did not set additional dynamic HTTP breakpoints in the editor of a BSP page. Instead, a corresponding system log entry is written, which can be checked using transaction SM21.
Dynamic Breakpoints
Dynamic breakpoints are user-specific. Therefore, you should use them if you only want the program to be interrupted when you run it yourself, not when it is being executed by other users. All dynamic breakpoints are deleted when you log off from the R/3 System.
Dynamic breakpoints are more flexible than static breakpoints because you can deactivate or delete them at runtime. They have the following advantages:
· You do not have to change the program code.
· You can set them even when the program is locked by another programmer.
· You can define a counter that only activates the breakpoint after it has been reached.
Special dynamic breakpoints are useful when you want to interrupt a program directly before a particular ABAP statement, a subroutine, or an event, but do not know exactly where to find it in the source code. Event here is used to refer to the occurrence of a particular statement, for example, or calling up a method. Special dynamic breakpoints are user-specific. You can only set them in the Debugger. For more information, refer to the chapter Dynamic Breakpoints.
In HTTP sessions, the system stops both at static and dynamic breakpoints if a dynamic breakpoint was set in the editor of a BSP page before program execution.
Watch point are used to put logical break point for a certain condition..Example..If you want to know when the internal table is getting append..Then you have to give the program name and the internal table in the watch point..
Steps to create a watch point.
Start debugging '/H'.
In the debugging screen press the create watch point button in the application tool bar..
In the program give the program name..
in the field give the field name.
In the relational operator given '='
In the comp. field/value give the value ..
Hope this helps..

What are the steps in watching a rental that was purchased and downloaded to your iphone 4? or to watch on a home laptop?
In order to watch it, just start playing it - if you've downloaded or synced it to your iPhone then it should be in the Videos app, or if it's on your computer's iTunes then it should be in the Movies section of your library. You have 30 days to start watching it from when you rent it, and once you start watching it you then have 48 hours (24 hours in the US) to finish watching it. As long as the film has been fully downloaded downloaded then you should be able to watch it without being online.
There is a FAQ page about rentals here : http://support.apple.com/kb/HT1657 -

What is the diffrence between sap events and application events
Hi all,
what is the diffrence between sap events and application events. Can any one tell me with examples.
regards,Hi,
Look at this,
<b>System Events (Default)</b>
The event is passed to the application server, but does not trigger the PAI. If you have registered an event handler method in your ABAP program for the event (using the SET HANDLER statement), this method is executed on the application server.
Within the event handler method, you can use the static method SET_NEW_OK_CODE of the global class CL_GUI_CFW to set a function code and trigger the PAI event yourself. After the PAI has been processed, the PBO event of the next screen is triggered.
The advantage of using this technique is that the event handler method is executed automatically and there are no conflicts with the automatic input checks associated with the screen. The disadvantage is that the contents of the screen fields are not transported to the program, which means that obsolete values could appear on the next screen. You can work around this by using the SET_NEW_OK_CODE method to trigger field transport and the PAI event after the event handler has finished.
<b>Application Events</b>
The event is passed to the application server, and triggers the PAI. The function code that you pass contains an internal identifier. You do not have to evaluate this in your ABAP program. Instead, if you want to handle the event, you must include a method call in a PAI dialog module for the static method DISPATCH of the global class CL_GUI_CFW. If you have defined an event handler method in your ABAP program for the event (using the SET HANDLER statement), the DISPATCH method calls it. After the event handler has been processed, control returns to the PAI event after the DISPATCH statement and PAI processing continues.
The advantage of this is that you can specify yourself the point at which the event is handled, and the contents of the screen fields are transported to the application server beforehand. The disadvantage is that this kind of event handling can lead to conflicts with the automatic input checks on the screen, causing events to be lost.
Hope u understood.

What is the diffrence between a javabean and EJB
hi!
what is the diffrence between a javabean and entreprise jvaabeans! i mean which are the uitilization featires of eaxh one !i am seeking for a solution for my problem , in fact i ma trying to implement and develop an application with java that allows a certain range of IP adresses to be connected to a database server in order to extract the suitable data from the server .
let me explain mor ethe suitation , in fact what i am loking for is to use javabeans to grant my application much more consistence and pertinence : si i am asking if it could be possible to use javabeans in my case especially if i am not trying to developp a web application but a cleint /server one allowing some services.
The application is in fact dealing with a stock exchange market and what i am trying to do is to grant particilar registrated customers to have the informations that they need ( portofolio, currency's status, market indicators, .) also drawing some charts decribing rates, variations, and others specefic financial caracterestics .So , if we consider that this application is not a web application ( no HTTP request and no servers like apache or others ) how it is possible to use javabeans and not EJB to build the application? i mean what could be suitable and preferable to rely on and dvelop to ensure a good java application !!
if you need more details to help you find the answer for me don't hesitate to answer me back !!
Someone here gave me that answer
use RMI to code the services and (Updateable) Value Objects to pass the information between tiers.
RMI is an all-java distributed component framework (ie. EJB, CORBA, DCE/RPC, DCOM, etc.), that is very suitable for developing non-containerized multi-tier applications. Refer to the RMI trail in the Java Tutorial as a starting point for coding RMI solutions (http://java.sun.com/docs/books/tutorial/index.html). Under this scenario you would code the database access service as an RMI service (server-side). Client/server communication should be facilitated through the use of JavaBeans/classes that wrap the information being passed (customer information, portfolio details, market information, etc.) - these are refered to as 'Updateable Value Objects' (a design pattern). Graphing and charting would be handled in your client from the information received from the (RMI) server. GUI JavaBeans can be used to provide this functionality as well as other client-side services. There are numerous "shrink-wrapped" components for GUIs available on the market just peruse any Java magazine to find them.
but how comes? how can i do it !! and where can i find more information please about 'Updateable Value Object "

What is the difference between jsp :include and server side include
what is the difference between jsp :include and server side include(request dispatcher include method)????
i understand that both request dispatcher include method and jsp:include take dynamic data,so when would one use request dispatcher include and when jsp:include.
Is the usage interchangeable?i believe jsp include is used only for jsp/html but include directive can be used to include servlets ,jsp and html....correct me if i m wrong and
do suggest if u hav ny other diff in this context...The difference really is: in what format do you want your inclusions? If your environment has many Java developers and only a few designers that focus mainly on, say, Flash, that might push you more towards the server-side include() directive. Or, if you have a large set of pages that receive dynamic content that is displayed in a consistent fashion (such as a workflow header area on a page).
If, on the other hand, you have more web designers, there may be a greater desire to deal in markup rather than Java code. Java developers themselves might prefer to view markup (JSP) that more resembles the eventual output than something occuring in Java code.
Finally, there are considerations of tiering. While it is totally possible to (and I have previously) implement 'view classes' that render markup or generate layout templates, JSP's offer, IMO, a subtle, psychological advantage. By forcing a developer to work in a different format, markup versus Java source, the separation on view from controller and model becomes a bit easier. It is still possible to make mistakes, but if a developer at some point notices, "Wait, I'm in a JSP, should I be importing a java.sql class?", then the choice to use JSP includes has paid off in spades.

What's the difference between "My Contacts" and "All Contacts"?
What's the difference between "My Contacts" and "All Contacts"?
I have no other account other then my iCloud account (from what I can tell), but "My Contacts" has a significantly smaller number of contacts then "All Contacts".
What's the difference? Thanks for posting the screenshots, that's helpful. I didn't realize that you were looking at your groups.
"All Contacts" include (as the name implies) all of your contacts. Below that are any contact groups that you may have defined. These would normally be such things as "Work", "Personal", "Doctors", etc.; any groups that you find useful to define. These contain subsets of the "All Contacts" group.
At some point, perhaps inadvertently, you must have created a group called "My Contacts", or imported it to iCloud from your computer. At the time this may have contained all of your contacts and would have had the same number of contacts as the "All Contacts" group. Then over time you probably added 433 additional contacts that were never part of the original "My Contacts" group, resulting in an "All Contacts" group that contained 1465 contacts.
If you don't have any use for the "My Contacts" group, you can delete it by clicking on it on the left sidebar, click the gear icon on the lower left and choose Delete. If you're concerned about doing this, you can make a backup of this group first by selecting it on the left sidebar, clicking on a single contact within the group, pressing Control-A to select them all (they should all be highlighted), then clicking the gear icon and choosing Export vCard. This will create a .vcf file that can later be imported back to iCloud if you ever need to (by clicking the gear icon again and choosing Import vCard). -
What is the difference between partner function and partner type
Hi Gurus,
What is the difference between partner function and partner type?
Thanks,
PaulHi John,
The partner types allow us to distinguish between different business partners such as customer, vendor, employee etc and the partner functions represent the functionality or role each partner plays within the business transaction.
For example under the partner type Customer, you will find - Sold to party, Ship to party, Bill to party, Payer.
The business partners that exist in the market place are represented with a partner type in the R/3 system. Examples of business partners are customer, vendor, employee and contact person.
The following partner types are defined in the partner processing for the sales & distribution module
a. AP contact person (06)
b. KU customer (07)
c. LI vendor (08)
d. PE employee/personnel (09)
Assigning the partner functions in the SAP system determines the functions of particular partner in the sales process. One partner may take on several functions also.

What is the impact of business area and cost center in the sales document
Hi all
I have small doubt regarding what is the impact of bussiness area and cost center in the sales document... what is the uses of these (bussiness area, cost center) is help full for sd module
can any one reply plz....
Thanking youHi,
Business Area determines where the revenue should be allocated when you sell a material or a service.
For eg: If your customer is in say Mumbai and he is ordering for a service in Delhi (say DIAL - Delhi International Airport Limited) then based on the terminology.
Your customer would belong to B Basis Business Area - WHERE THE REVENUE IS COMING FROM or WHERE YOUR CUSTOMER BELONGS TO (SALES OFFICE).
Whereas your DIAL sales will belong to A Basis Business Area - WHERE THE REVENUE IS GOING TO.
Cost Center would determine where your allocate your cost to.
Say Rounding Off can be used as a cost element, because some sort of revenue is lost when figures are roudned off..
Hope it clarifies your doubt.
Reward points if satisfactory

Do somebody knows what´s the recommended heigh to install an access point 1242 with external antennas 1728 on a flat area? And for example, if i use aps 3602 the heigh to install is the same?? BEST REGARDS
To determine the required height of an antenna tower over a hypothetically flat, spherical Earth, it's necessary to calculate the effect of the Earth's curvature, and then add a distance equal to 60% of the radius of the First Fresnel Zone. The table below shows the result of these calculations. Values have been rounded up to the nearest foot.
Line of Sight Distance Between Antenna Towers
Height of Tower to Avoid Flat Earth Curvature
Tower Height Required Over Tallest Obstacle In Line-of-Sight to Provide

It can be seen in the table above that a wireless link between two points separated by 26 miles would require an antenna tower with a minimum height of 103 feet for an 802.11b/g radio and 95 feet for an 802.11a radio. In practice the heights would typically be 20 feet higher, or more. This is because the Earth is not smooth and flat and the tower height must be raised to compensate for buildings, trees, hills, or other obstacles. For example, in a suburban setting, with houses and small offices, it may be necessary to add 20 to 40 feet to the tower height to get over the homes, offices, and trees that would be in the line-of-sight between the two towers. -

what is the difference between smart forms and scripts.?
Differences between Smartforms and SAPscript
a) Multiple page formats are possible in smartforms which is not the case in SAPScripts
b) It is possible to have a smartform without a main window .
c) Routines can be written in smartforms tool.
d) Smartforms generates a function module when activated.
e) Smartforms can create web enable forms like XML
f) smartforms itself contine subroutine pools need not to main separetly like in case of scripts

www.sap-img.com/smartforms/smartform-sapscripts.htm
www.erpgenie.com/abap/smartforms_sapscript.htm
Sapscript vs Smartforms
Difference with SMARTFORMS vs. SapScript(SE71)
The Following are the differences :-
a) Multiple page formats are possible in smartforms which is not the case in SAPScripts
b) It is possible to have a smartform without a main window .
c) Labels cannot be created in smartforms.
d) Routines can be written in smartforms tool.
e) Smartforms generates a function module when activated
Scripts are client dependent whereas smartforms aren't.
Upto 99 main windows are possible in scripts and only one in smarforms.
To create multiple main windows in scripts, you just have to give the window type as MAIN whnever you create a window.
Scripts still exists but smartforms are in use from 4.6c version, now the lastest version of these two is adobe forms
SAP Smart Forms is introduced in SAP Basis Release 4.6C as the tool for creating and maintaining forms.SAP Smart Forms allow you to execute simple modifications to the form and in the form logic by using simple graphical tools; in 90% of all cases, this won't include any programming effort. Thus, a power user without any programming knowledge can
configure forms with data from an SAP System for the relevant business processes.
Advantages of SAP Smart Forms
SAP Smart Forms have the following advantages:
1. The adaptation of forms is supported to a large extent by graphic tools for layout and logic, so that no programming knowledge is necessary (at least 90% of all adjustments). Therefore, power user forms can also make configurations for your business processes with data from an SAP system. Consultants are only required in special cases.
2. Displaying table structures (dynamic framing of texts)
3. Output of background graphics, for form design in particular the use of templates which were scanned.
4. Colored output of texts
5. User-friendly and integrated Form Painter for the graphical design of forms
6. Graphical Table Painter for drawing tables
7. Reusing Font and paragraph formats in forms (Smart Styles)
8. Data interface in XML format (XML for Smart Forms, in short XSF)
9. Form translation is supported by standard translation tools
10. Flexible reuse of text modules
11. HTML output of forms (Basis release 6.10)
12. Interactive Web forms with input fields, pushbuttons, radio buttons, etc. (Basis-Release 6.10)
