What role does thread with name of form pool-n-thread-m play?

Hello
JE version 5.0.97.
Looking at the threads created by a node in the master role, I see only one thread without a descriptive name. It has the executor default of pool-n-thread-m.
What role does this thread take?  I ask out of curiosity.

Could you consider naming this thread in a future release? It would assist with problem diagnosis by allowing users to know with certainty which threads belong to JE.
Kind regards, Keith Wall.

Keith,
These threads are part of the thread pool that watches for incoming network connection requests, and help establish new sockets. We should certainly name them, and will do so in the next release. I think they'll be named ServiceDispatcher <nodeName>.

Linda

  • What role does cache size play in external HD ?

    Hello,
I want to replace my existing 500 GB external HD with a larger one. I will want to have 2 partitions, one for Sample Libraries (additional to Logic from Logic ) and one for my daily Backup.
I'm wondering what role the cache plays in a HD and what I need to look out for.
Any general suggestions re make would also be appreciated !
    Thanks,
    Kay.

    NOT a good idea.
Hard drives fail all the time. So if you have your backup and your samples on the same drive and the drive goes down, guess what you lose? EVERYTHING.
Your backup drive should be a wholly separate drive. And your samples should be on a dedicated drive of their own too (multiple drives if necessary).
What you want are three hard drives:
    1) a backup drive (can be anything: USB, FW, eSATA)
    2) a samples drive (FW, eSATA. Not USB)
    3) a backup of your samples drive (same choices as #2 if you want to be able to swap out the drive in case your original goes bad. Otherwise, USB can be used for data backup but not recommended to run with Logic).
If you were able to install additional hard drives in your computer you could (and should) go with internal drives.
When your backup drive gets full, put it on the side and buy another one. A great choice for backup drives is the Voyager -- a peripheral that plugs into either USB, FW, or eSATA and accepts raw (inexpensive drives). When the drive fills up you eject it from the unit and plop in another one.
Finally, you never want to partition a drive that's part of your recording setup. It will kill performance and, as I said above, if the drive goes down you have too much to lose.

  • What it does mean with debug type is serial or debug type is usb or 1394?

    hi,
I was reading in windows 7 bible  about  updating global debugger setting ,
debug type can be serial ,or 1394, or usb  .
what it does mean exactly with telling debug type is serial or debug type is usb?
    thanks
    johan
    h.david

This is referring to the type of connection you are using to debug.
Serial -- uses a serial cable,  needs a connection to a 9 pin connector. This was the first out there, is still in use on Desktops,  not installed on laptops anymore.  Not much hardware supports serial anymore.
1394 -- refers to firewire.  Firewire was developed in the 90's (maybe late 80's).  This uses a firewire connection.  Not usually installed on Desktops,  sometimes still installed on laptops.
USB -- refers to a USB connection.  This is the most common connection you will find and use.  This is on its third standard now, called USB 3.0.  This is commonly used by cell phones, printers, Desktops, laptops, servers, and is used to connect
    keyboards, mouses, and other items.
    Hope this helps.

  • What roles are required with OWB?

What are the different roles or skillsets required to implement OWB (developer, DBA, analyst, modeler)? What are most of you seeing as far as management of the OWB in general? I'm afraid this is another one of those "the DBA does that" things. What are your experiences. Thanks.

It's just nothing like developer, dba, analyst , modeller and etc. For OWB, someone needs to have work experience in Oracle SQL, PL/SQL (your term developer), Managing Non-Schema objects, understanding & managing Privileges and roles from sys level to down at user level (DBA), define the source building the mart (modeller). SOme ONE has got good DBA(OCP) with strong PLSQL is the one will be verygood in OWB...

  • I can't figure out what im doing wrong with my File I/O program lol

I'm new to the java language and was wondering if anybody could help me with the program i an writing. I don't quite understand file I/O but I've given it my best and I'm stuck. I'm supposed to write a program that will read in a file of student academic credit data and create a list of students on academic warning. The list of students on warning will be written to a file. Each line of the input file will contain the
student name (a single String with no spaces), the number of semester hours earned (an integer), the total quality points earned (a double). The program should compute the GPA (grade point or quality point average) for each student (the total quality points divided by the number of semester hours) then write the student information to the output file if that student should be put on academic warning. A student will be on warning if he/she has a GPA less than 1.5 for students with fewer than 30 semester hours credit, 1.75 for students with fewer than 60 semester hours credit, and 2.0 for all other students. The instructions are :
    1. Set up a Scanner object scan from the input file and a PrintWriter outFile to the output file inside the try
clause (see the comments in the program). Note that you’ll have to create the PrintWriter from a FileWriter,
but you can still do it in a single statement.
    2. Inside the while loop add code to read the input file—get the name, the number of credit hours, and the
number of quality points. Compute the GPA, determine if the student is on academic warning, and if so
write the name, credit hours, and GPA (separated by spaces) to the output file.
    3. After the loop close the PrintWriter and Scanner objects in a finally block.
    4. Think about the exceptions that could be thrown by this program:
    • A FileNotFoundException if the input file does not exist
    • A InputMismatchException if it can’t read an int or double when it tries to – this indicates an error in the
    input file format
    • An IOException if something else goes wrong with the input or output stream
Add a catch for each of these situations, and in each case give as specific a message as you can. The
program will terminate if any of these exceptions is thrown, but at least you can supply the user with useful
    information.
    5. Test the program. Test data is in the file students.txt. Be sure to test each of the exceptions as well.
    My source code is:
    // Warning.java
// Reads student data from a text file and writes data to another text file.
    import java.util.*;
    import java.io.*;

The program will run and then terminate without creating warning.txt. How can I get it to create the warning .txt file? Any help that you could give would be greatly appreciated.

  • What role does a trust contact when creating a trust

When I create a trust between ForestA/DomainA in networkA to ForestB/DomainB/NetworkB
Does it contact the closest GC or does it contact the PDC role?

So on my internal forest/domain on physical network (A)
I have a DC which pretty much holds all the roles
the on another physical network call it (B) I have another writable DC which does not hold any roles other than GC.
then on the DMZ network of this physical network (B), I have a new forest/domain and a new writable DC
the writable DC on this network B has rules to allow communication between the DMZ network DC and the writable DC.  When creating a trust between this DMZ DC on network (B) does the writable DC need communication to the PDC on network (A) ?
I cannot validate the trust right now.

  • What is the story with Apple not allowing downloaded movies to be played on TV's?

    ***?

It isn't that it's an AVI that it's poor quality, it's down to the culture and individuals that steal and post it on the internet for others to download. If you use these sorts of services, you'll be plagued by poor quality video, infections on your computer and potentially a knock on the door.
You can get good quality movies from the iTunes Store that won't infect your computer and let you sleep peacefully in your bed at night.

  • Errors while working with Webutil in Forms 10gAS

    Hi Gurus,
I have an application migrated from 6i to 10g, where in there is a form which will read the text file or any data file which consists of records and inserts them into the database table. This is the primary goal of the form.
Before to this, I have configured the webutil on the Application server according to the *[url http://sites.google.com/site/craigsoraclestuff/oracle-forms-webutil/2-configure-webutil-for-forms-10g-r2]Runtime setup checklist*.
    And on the application side,
    1. I have compiled the webutil.pll library and also attached the webutil.pll file to the form w/o any path.
    2. I have opened the webtul.olb object library and subclassed its objects to the form(WEBUTIL_ERROR alert, WEBUTIL datablock, WEBUTIL_CANVAS canvas, WEBUTIL object library in Object group node, and WEBUTIL_HIDDEN_WINDOW window were subclassed).
    3. Using the Find and Replace PL/SQL... TEXT_IO was changed to CLIENT_TEXT_IO.
    4. Compiled and created fmx file.
Now, when I run the form, first thing appears to me is Webutil Information window which has nothing(no java beans) in it except OK button enabled. This window is WEBUTIL_CANVAS.
After I press OK, the main canvas of the form opens. Here is another problem. This form has 3 fields which has the path of the data file in them. When I press the button to load data, I get an error saying oracle.forms.webutil.file.FileFunctions bean not found. CLIENT_TEXT_IO.fopen will not work, three times for the 3 files.
So I reopened the form in the builder and when I open the canvas, I see an error saying
FRM-13008: Cannot find JavaBean with name 'oracle.forms.webutil.ole.OleFunctions'.
and the WEBUTIL_OLE_FUNCTIONS bean area appears to be empty on the canvas.
    Where am I doing wrong?
    Please Help me...

    Hi Andreas,
Now I can see the java console...
When I open the form I get these lines in the java console
    proxyHost=null
    proxyPort=0
    connectMode=HTTP, native.
Forms Applet version is : 10.1.2.0

  • To whom or what role..do submitted time sheets get routed to?...

We have MS Project Server 2010 (eventually moving to 2013).  There is currently a function with Project Server where a resource on a task can enter their time and submit to an approver (this is a requirement for our Resource Mgmt process).  The
problem we are having is…”who (or what role) does the approval request go to”?....
For example, I am the project manager on a project.  A resource enters their time and submits it.  I would think that I would see it show up in the Approval Center for me to approve/reject.  We are thinking it is defaulting to whoever entered
the project in MS Project Server (this is not always the project manager)?..is this the case?
We have looked in the server settings and everywhere else within the tool (and internet) to see where we can change the routing….to whatever role (or person) we want to.  How is this done?

    Hi,
In Project Server 2010, you have to understand that the approval process has to be done at 2 levels.
Once the timesheet submitted, it goes to the status manager that is the project owner, meaning the project manager or the PCO. Note that this can be changed in the project plan at the assignment level through the "status manager" column.
Once approved by the status manager (if the fixed approvla routine has been activated in the timesheet settings, otherwise it will be send in parallel), it goes to the timesheet manager which is an attribute of the resource. By default the timesheet manager
of a user is the user itself which makes the timesheet automatically approved. But you should change the timesheet manager to the resource manager. Then he'll receive in his approval center the timesheet approval, including the administrative time.
    Hope this helps,

  • What is the print program for adobe form MEDRUCK_PO, How would I know that?

    Hello All,
I am new to ADOBE forms and I have a requirement to develop a new Purchase Order Adobe Form . I need to confidure output types too. I am copying 'NEU' to 'ZNEU', and form name 'MEDRUCK_PO' to 'ZMEDRUCK_PO', but what would be the program name and form routine? How would I know the program name and form routine for new output type/form combination.
Any kind of help is highly appreciated and rewarded.
    Thanks in advance
    Abaper

I am working on exactly same thing - customizing pdf form MEDRUCK_PO.
I copied MEDRUCK_PO to Z_MEDRUCK_PO and put my changes into the form.
You will use transaction SPRO to display the current routine and form and put your changes into effect.
SPRO-> click tab SAP Reference Image->Material Management->Purchasing->Messages->Forms(Layout Sets) for Messages->Assign Form and Output program for Purchase Order.
In the Form column change the form name to yours - Z_MEDRUCK_PO for example. You can also change the routine name if you want.
Take a look at SAPFM06P, specifically at includes FM06PE03 and FM06PE04.
You will find routines adobe_entry_neu, adobe_entry_mahn and adobe_entry_aufb in FM06PE03. They call routine adobe_print_output located in FM06PE04.

  • Does anyone know what oexfen does?

    Hi,
I have a question that's curiosity driven. I was doing some security work and put a sniffer on our network and found references to Oracle OEXFEN oci calls. There are only three references to OEXFEN if you do a google or YAHOO search and they are a sniffer dump and a comment in an oci7 and an oci8 header file, ocidef.h. I've done a bunch of other checks - oracle doc search, user groups - but have not found any references to OEXFEN.
Does anyone know what OEXFEN does? Is this a form of OEXFET or OEXN? Is it an old version of OEXFET that prefetches multiple rows and is now obsoleted? Is this pre-oracle 7?
    Thanks in advance.
    Toni

It is a v6 OCI call if memory serves...I can't find the v6 manual either :) It is probably hanging around in v7 and early v8 headers as well. The clouds are thick over what I remember of v6 OCI, but it is probably a variation of what became OFEN or OEXFET.

  • HT4437 what date does my iMac have to be made after to do airplay

After what date does  your apple need to be made to have air play?

    Welcome to the Apple Community.
AirPlay Mirroring requires a second-generation Apple TV or later, OS X 10.8 or better and is supported on the following Mac models: iMac (Mid 2011 or newer), Mac mini (Mid 2011 or newer), MacBook Air (Mid 2011 or newer), and MacBook Pro (Early 2011 or newer). It also requires the computer to be using wi-fi.

I am working with Jdeveloper Studio Edition Version 11.1.1.6.0 Build JDEVADF_11.1.1.6.0_GENERIC_111205.1733.6192.
I have applications that run fine, however when I click on the undeploy, I get the error below. Please keep in mind that this is a simple sample application -- no security. Just one form with reading an HR schema table. Just a sample to try and figure out why I am getting this error. Any ideas?
    1. I have deleted the system folder (repeatedly)
    2. I deleted out my entire C:\Users\stuart\AppData\Local\Temp directory (someone mentioned this in another post)
    3. Reinstalled Jdeveloper.
    Thank you,

    Frank,
Thank you for your answer. I had not checked (will do so tonight).
I had considered it adequate to wipe out the entire system directory (thereby wiping out the integrated weblogic server), but perhaps it was not adequate? I did not specify that this is on the integrated server, but that is the case....
