What SAP javascripts functions are outdated in Netweaver that run on EP6 SP

When clicking on the iview's menu breadcrumb, IE pop-up javascript error appears when running on Netweaver
However, the IE pop-up never shows up running on EP6.
Is there any SAP javascript function that is now outdated in Netweaver that runs on EP6 SP2 env?

Well -- it seems to work.
Installation went fine without any problems (thanks for the hint about password length).
As I said, I started with a 60GB hard disk allocation in Parallels. However, after installation my WinXP guest OS + NetWeaver Trial take up about 12GB.
I'm using Parallels with the shared networking option where it creates a virtual network between Mac OS and Windows XP and provides a DHCP server on that. Thus, you will get a network interface with an assigned IP address in Windows XP which is an installation requirement.
I chose not to install the SAP GUI in Windows but instead got the Java-based GUI and installed that on Mac OS. This way, you can start up Parallels in the background and use Mac OS for your work. In the "Edit Connection" dialog upon login I used the "expert configuration" mode with "conn=/H/10.211.55.3/S/3200&user=BCUSER", where 10.211.55.3 is the IP address Parallels assigned for WinXP.

The javascript functions are working correctly, but still get scripting error messages

When you open or run any javascript functions in this form, error messages pop up, but functions work correctly. Anyone that can help me get rid of error messages? Screenshots are attached.

What does 'init functions are not allowed in this objset' mean and how can it be fixed?

We have added some init functions to the beginning of the obj.conf file so that we can proxy off to Weblogic.
However when we try to run the Web server we get an error message 'init functions are not allowed in this objset'.
The syntax seems to be correct. Has anyone any idea how this can be fixed?

You are probably using iPlanet Web Server 6.0 or higher; starting with 6.0, the web server does not allow Init directives to appear on the obj.conf file. Instead, place your Init directives in the magnus.conf file.

Entries in the location bar drop down list with a yellow (blue on Mac) star at the right end are bookmarks.
You can remove such a bookmarked item that shows in the list if you open that url in a tab and click the yellow star in the location bar.
This will open the "Edit This Bookmark" dialog and you can click the Remove button to remove the bookmark if you want to remove such a bookmarked entry.

A possible cause is a problem with the file places.sqlite that stores the bookmarks and the history.

Filter items are not set via Redirect to a javascript function

i have a page with a few filter items and a button which redirects to a javascript function. The problem is that the filter items are NULL in the called javascript function. If i do a submit via another button before then it works.
Here the details:

Hi Martin,
In my example I do a refresh of the report region using adynamic action. In the report source I've set my filter item as "Page item to submit".
To open the link for the pdf report I use a dynamic action that fires after refresh of the report region.
That's it.
If you want to use your callReport function and need to submit your filter items first, you could try using a ajax post to send the filter values to the database. There's a nice explanation on ajax post in this blog:

Hi,
You can go the transaction code: rsa1 and then select "Meta data Repository" option on the left side.
You can use Meta data repository to view the dependent objects for a infocube or any other BW object.
In your case, you can select "Infocube" option on the left side and then go on selecting your infocube.
Now you will get all dependent objects created on this infocube, which will include your plannign functions also.

9iAS java functions are not working

Dear All.
Im using oracle 9iAS Release 9.2.0.1.0 and JServer Release 9.2.0.1.0. Im using java functions (eg. Array, pop, push method and trim function) in my JavaScript section.
But these functions are not working. When run the page it work up to that function and stuck. Functions are written properly.
I would be much-appreciated .if you could help me to solve this problem..

Are you sure you uncommented and changed jvm.include.CLASSPATH=1
in the jvm12.conf when you added your classpath there?
The preferred way to do this would be to create a .war and deploy it instead. Then you can put your beans in the WEB-INF/classes directory and the application wont have conflict problems if you decide to create virtual servers later.

F-4 Key on Windows 8.0 what is this function for?

I accidentally pushed F-4 Key by itself, and my screen was wider and something pop up on the right side of my screen that had 4 choices of ??? My question is what is this function for?? And after I push it again it went back to normal. I would also like to know what the other functions are for on top row F-1 to F-12 and yes I am a new user to this laptop from HP. I know there is also windows + keys commands and I am interested in knowing more about what goes on with my pc. F-3 has a icon that looks like a light, and yes I have a lot to learn, Thanks in advance for anyone who wishes to give me help on these matters.

On the top of F4 key, you should see a screen symbol and normally (w/o preesing F4) this will output to an external monitor. For Fn+F4, please read the following article:

What is your machine ? Depeinding on the model/product of your machine, some keys my line up a bit difference but you can see symbol on each key and work this out. For example F2 and F3 are for brightness, F5 for backlit keyboard (not all machines). F6 to F11 for sound/video and F12 for wireless. On your machine, some keys may be swapping around but basically they all have one symbol each.

- based on the functionality of the GL values goto the particular FA
- this will be activated in GL screen only if you activate the Cost of sales accounting
- basically it is used for reporting purposes where the reporting is based on the Functionality of the expenditure ( factory expenses will be in FOH functional area)
- this can be populate directly by assigning in the GL or entering at line item level

A swf in an iFrame calling javascript function on Parent page

I have a .swf that has to load in a iFrame and needs to call a browser cookie javascript function that lives on the parent page that loads the iFrame.
I'm using this:
ExternalInterface.call("javascriptFunction");
but of course this call is not making it to the Parent page javascript function. Is this possible to do?

The parent page has the javascript function, and has a iFrame that loads the swf. The swf needs to call the javascript function that lives in the parent page.

Cost center planning by functional area

hi gurus,
The client needs to do manual planning in CO (KP06) by cost center/cost element/fund/functional area. This data is later gets rolled up in FM to formulate the budget data. The client wants to enter all the account assignment manually except for functional area. They want that system automatically derive the functional area based on the cost center (one to one relationship). I tried the CO substitution but this functionality is only for actual data and not plan data. Any suggestion how I can derive the functional area in CO planning based on cost center?

Functional area is required for cost of sales accounting in Finance. It has got nothing to do with Cost Center planning. Functional area shall not be visible in controlling. Pl update this constraint to the client and go ahead with Cost center/cost element planning with necessary one to one relationship with Fund center, etc.

What if GRANTS statement are executed twice?

What happens if GRANTS statments are executed twice?
Will there be any error thrown at the time of second execution?
And will we need to revert twice in case we need to remove the GRANTS?
Does it matter which user can give GRANTS if the user has the ccess to pass on the GRANTS for a particular object?

To add to what Sybrand said, as long as the username that runs the grant script has the necessary privilege then who issues the grants does not matter. However you cannot directly grant privileges for another users object to yourself even if you can grant them to another user so if the username who ran the script was intended to receive some of the grants then you definitely need to rerun the script.
Rerunning the script as the intended user would not hurt anything. Only one revoke would be necessary to remove any granted privilege and it can be issued by any user with the privilege necessary to perform the revoke such as the object owner or a DBA.

There is no limit to explore in MDG. As a functional consultant you are responsible for -
1. Defining scope of MDG
2. Set up governance process - Workflow
3. Configuration - MDG (Activate services - functions / role set up / Data modelling / process modelling / replication set up ) - You have to involve in each of these activities with technical. You can also do it on your own.
4. Testing - end to end testing and training
5. Cut over activities - data load etc
In these areas, you have to contribute 100% and work with entire team (tech) for set up.
As mention, you can explore a lot in MDG.
