I gone through the OSS note 919538 and found that all required entries are place in the table TTZDV on all systems (Development, Quality & Production). We have ECC 5.0 & Oracle 10.2. On WINDOWS 2003 Server, I want to know that whether I need to update any patch or should I shut down all the system for particular time? Please suggest.

SAP runs under the assumption that time is always moving forward. During time fall back this is disrupted, since a certain point in time i.e. 1 AM occurs twice. Once at DST and then again when the clocks are switched back one hour at 2 AM ( changeing to Standard time ). This is known as double-hour and can cause major errors in SAP like
ZDATE_LARGE_TIME_DIFF
ZDATE_ILLEGAL_LOCTIME
ZDATE_ILLEGAL_DBTIME
To prevent the errorsSAP must NOT RUN for 2 hours.
Means shutdown SAP at 1 AM (daylight savings time) and bring it back up at 2 AM (standard time). Check note 102088 for more details

OK, now how to solve this problem? Try the test in your area by selecting the day that DST occurs, you will see what will happen the same problem (to select the day that DST occurs on the screen will return one day less), do the test with the demos that I put in the first post, rich: calendar and prime: calendar.
I do not know if it helps, but I noticed the firebug firefox debugging, it does not matter the way you change the locale or timezone, as the current date from the calendar javascript will always be the standard of the machine running the component.

IPhone + Outlook, recurring meetings not adjusted for Daylight Saving (Arizona)

Anybody else out there living in Phoenix and syncing with Outlook?
I have an iPhone 4 running iOS 5.0.1 and I sync my calendar with Outlook 2007 running on Windows XP. Recurring meetings that were sent from another timezone are not showing the correct time following the Daylight Saving Time (DST) change on Nov. 6.
For example, I have a recurring meeting for Tuesdays that was originally sent to me July 26, 2011 (during DST, that is) by my customer in California. In Outlook the time is shown as 8:00 AM Pacific Time. During DST this meeting was shown correctly in Calendar as 8:00AM. Today it still shows as 8:00 but should show as 9:00 (8:00 PST = 9:00 MST).
Phone Settings: My iPhone's time zone was originally set this morning to "Set Automatically ON" and it had selected Denver although I'm in Phoenix. I understand that Denver and Phoenix now share the same time. I turned "Set Automatically" off and selected "Phoenix, U.S.A." then resynced, but the appoinment above still shows 8:00.
So how do I fix this? I really don't want my customer to have to resend the invite just to fix an iOS bug.

Not sure if people are still looking at this post, but we did finally find a fix for the issue.
In the end we figured out that one of our exchange mail box users had something faulty in their profile. By "faulty", our exchange admins attempted to move the user's mail profile from one mail store to another, but exchange returned errors when attempting to do so.
In order to "fix" the issue we ended up deleting the mail profile completely from exchange and then recreating it from scratch - scary prospect when having to do this with someone high up the food chain... (prior export and reimport essential otherwise all data is lost)
(the user dealt with many meetings for multiple staff, and was a common factor between all users getting the issue)
I wouldn't call this specifically a MS issue as prior to ipad/iphones, these issues did not occur, and even while it was occuring, turning off mail on ipad/iphones meant the issue did not occur and other email clients had no issues at all
- so it looks like something in the iphone is not quite robust enough to be able to handle a few errors
(alternative theory: perhaps it is the iphone that created the issue in the first place??? We don't know when the issue with the actual mail account started and not enough resources to trowel through log files looking for a needle in a haystack)
Anyway, not sure if this will help everyone with the same issue, but thought I'd share our experience

Need help preparing for daylight saving

From all the research so far, it seems like we'll have to
have SDK 1.4.2_11 and MX 6.1 updater 1 to ensure that the

dstDates.cfm and 3 out of 4 showed that it's ok. We're confused
because (1) Our CF and JVM versions are not what recommended for
daylight saving fix; (2) all environments are at the same version,
yet 1 failed showing daylight saving
Please advice.

Some more information would be nice (how many computers are in the domain?), but I think I have what you're looking for.
What you need to do is change a registry key in the client computers. It's located in the registry at
HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SYSTEM\CurrentControlSet\Control\TimeZoneInformation
The string name is DynamicDaylightTimeDisabled and the value for this item is
0 (Kind of weird - by entering 0, you're saying "No, I DON'T want to DISable daylight savings time).
Of course, you'll need to deploy this registry information to the clients from the server. There are several ways to do it, but the first one I'd try is to create a registry preference item on the server and deploy it as a GPP.

You can't actually terminate an iCloud account, though obviously you can simply log out of it on all your devices and then ignore it in future.
I gather that the @icloud.com address is also the actual ID? You can't change that. However if your Apple ID that you use to log into iCloud is a non-Apple email address you can change that - please follow carefully the instructions here:

If it's this non-Apple address which is compromised then changing the ID will solve that. If it's the @icloud.com address which is compromised then you cannot change that though you can add up to three 'email aliases' - these are additional addresses (not accounts) which deliver into the same inbox as the main account. (In fact it's a good idea to give out alias addresses, rather than the main address, because if they attract spam you can easily change them.) (New aliases can only be @icloud.com ones; @me.com addresses cannot now be created.)
You should be aware before you start that once you've created an alias you cannot turn that address into a full iCloud account or move it to another account.

However if you add an alias the original address will still function, so if you are getting a lot of spam it will still arrive.

During our last audit, one of the findings is that we should not have the OWB production repository open to all of the developers at all times. Its pretty easy, once your development completed;
1) export to mdl file (OWB metadata) the ne or modified objects
2) create a generic OMBPlus script that will perform all required tasks
-register you locations
-deploy connectors, objects, process flow & perform the required grants
We have been doing this for over 4 years now... The Dba can't be more pleased as they just need to execute a single script and send us the log file.
Now creating that generic script is not easy but its worth it. We have close to 20 owb environment. Every time a new project starts, we trash one environment, put up out "template dbs" (sources & target) and run OMPPlus which will deploy every single object and perform the grants, etc... w/o any supervision.
BTW in a multiple environment situation(like ours), the script is also used to perform the retrofits!

First of all, I am from Holland, I'll try my best not to write in riddles....
I have two 30 minutes DV tapes I would like to edit and than show to my friends in Holland AND the States. How do I start ?? My idea is to import the footage of each day separately, so that the projects are not that big... Can I make a sequence for each day and after that combine all of them ?? Also I need output to both PAL and NTSC... So my questions basically are:
Can I put four or more sequences together to one final sequence and than export it as one movie or should I make different sequences, day 1, day 2 etc. and than let iDVD make it into one movie ??
How exactly do I export the movie to iDVD and when I burn it on a DVD, is it possible to do that in both PAL and NTSC ??

hey there Max,
i forgot a step, it's been awhile since i've done other than NTSC, sorry for any trouble it may have caused.
it's probably best to set iMovie to match the camera & how it recorded the video. example if you have a PAL cam, set iMovie to work w/ that. edit, make chapters, share to iDVD & it should automatically recognize the PAL format. after you've completed that project(burned your DVDs), go back to iMovie, under "Share"> Export> QuickTime> in that menu under Export choose Movie to DV Stream under Use choose NTSC 48(USA). then import/export the QT movie to iDVD, check Project Info to see that iDVD recognizes that your movie is in NTSC, if it's not change it. also check out the iLife Tutorials: http://www.apple.com/ilife/tutorials/

Does System.currentTimeMillis() cater for daylight saving

My question is does System.currentTimeMillis by any means cater for the daylight savings time or in the other case when clocks are moved backwards it repeats it self???????

the whole problems with the currentTimeMillis is that it calculates the offset from the System clock - System TimeZone Offset
if the System uses Manual DST or the auto DST is not checked (Windows)
The the user of the system changes manually the clock and the calculation
current millis will be wrong one hour
for example I am in GMT + 2 + DST(1)
GMT is 1200
Local OS shows 1400, and I manually change it to 1500 (DST check box is not checked
the Java will report GMT time 1300 (1500 - 2:00)
whic is wrong.
There is no indication wether this check box is checked or not
If anyone knows how to find out if its checked please tell all

Adjustment for Daylight Saving time

Could anyone please help me on this:
our oracle dbtimezone is currently showing +00:00
our tables have date data type which store date and time as received from an external system sends date/time in UTC
How do I convert the UTC timestamp to BST (British Summer Time) while selecting from the table? I dont want to change the value in the table, just select it as BST.
I have tried different methods like new_time but no luck.
e.g.
select to_date('20120101 23:30:00','YYYYMMDD HH24:MI:SS'), new_time(to_date('20120101 23:30:00','YYYYMMDD HH24:MI:SS'), 'GMT','BST') from dual

which I think is incorrect as the BST time should have been 1 hour ahead of GMT. But the above showss it to be 11 hrs behind. I am confused.

I own 64bit Ipad. One day I turned it on and it said "Enter a PUK code". I don't have any idea what this means, I just know my Ipad has been inoperable since.
There is no carrier, it's not a phone. Just Wi-Fi. I have wasted SO much time trying to get this resolved I am ready to throw this thing in the drink. No help from Apple, there is no "carrier", so ***????!!!!! Feels like a $900 rip off right now. I am not a general Mac or Itunes user, bought this Ipad as an experiment for EHR in my medical office, where it could have been a very handy tool. I don't want to loose all of the medical information already downloaded, and Itunes doesn't recognize it when I plug it in to my laptop.
I have removed the Sims card, then the picture of a USB cable pointing to the Itunes icon appears. Itunes and the Ipad don't seem to recognize each other from the same device that I've updated on before. Any help would be greatly appreciated.
I'm really upset that Apple wants to charge me to tell me how to fix it, when it was as simple as me turning it off one day, and getting this message the next, ya know???!!!!

The only one that can issue a PUK code is a carrier, which you've already made clear you don't have.
If itunes does not recognise your ipad that may be another issue. What version OS is on your computer and what steps did you follow to uninstall itunes and then reiinstall itunes on your computer?
And, do you at least see the sidebar on the left hand side of itunes?
