What to do in this scenerio!
Dear All,
We have been developing our forms and reports in Oracle developer 6i. They are running in client server environment at the moment. Operating system we are using is mostly windows 2000, in some cases windows XP.
Now we want to shift our applications on web using Oracle Application Server 10g. I just want to know if we install Oracle Application Server on a server machine with Linux operating system, our existing forms will work on it? OK, If we need to compile our forms and reports again do we have to compile them on Linux based Oracle Developer Suite 10g or they can be compiled in Windows based Oracle Developer Suite.
What is the best solution?

Depending on how your forms are developed (e.g. triggers used) you may need some changes. We develop some applications on Forms 6i, and run the same on 10g, just recompiling.
If we need to compile our forms and reports again do we have to compile them on Linux based Oracle Developer Suite 10g or they can be compiled in Windows based Oracle Developer Suite.You have to recompile on Linux. BTW, you don't need Developer Suite on Linux.

Please tell me how to map this scenerio.
We want to produce 1000pc of plastic bottles. After production in this 1000 pc, assume that 100 pc of plastic bottles are having scraches on there surfaces but these bottles are not considered as scrap and we want to call this as B Grade materials. Similarly another 100 pc are also found same type of problem and we want to call this as C Grade materials. And remaining 800 pc , We want to call this as A Grade materials.
But all 1000 pc we want to sell, only the thing is with different price for A,B and C grade materials
Material is same i.e., Plastic Bottle (FERT) but depending on grades My client want to differentiate it.

You Maintain Split Valuation No need to maintain Diffrent Material code , U maintain Diffrent Valuation Type With Diffrence price , and Maintain Diffrent Batches with batch number as Grade, assign the valuation type to batch , at the time of confirmation based on the grade you selct the batch number and confirm , it will be saved with diffrent grade with diffrent valuation.
What is Split Valuation?
Split Valuation means managing a material as several partial stocks. Each partial stock is valuated separately.
Why do you require Split Valuation?
Split Valuation is required for certain materials in order to valuate them separately.

One of my ex-colleagues has installed a NI-DAQ 6.5 in our system. [And I do not see any other naitional instruments card in the CPU of the computer, may be he removed it] I deleted the account and all his files in the system. When I am trying to install version8.0, its not getting installed and giving me a message that I should uninstall the previous version by going to Add/Remove programs in the control panel.
I tried doing that, but the "Change/Remove" button does not seem to work...[There is no response and so unable to install the new version...]
Any idea how can this problem be solved?
It is a windowsXP operating system with SP2 installed on a machine with P4 processor.

Whenever i have a mozilla browser on and i try to open another mozilla window browser it work pull up a new window. When close the browser that was on, it will still show up on Task Manager. Whats going on with this?

My wife and i have an iPhone 5 6.1.2 firmware.. We both are having horrible wifi signals. We have done everything we can.. What update will fix this? I am having the same problem with brand new Ipad Mini at my house.
It connects to the WiFi fine - but will not pull an IP address in DHCP mode, or if I set all the IP info statically - it still will not get any network access.
This doesn't look like a WiFi issue, as it does connect and is seen by the WiFi Access Point. All the normal WiFi fix stuff doesn't help.
- Using a Dlink DAP-2553 which is less than 2 months old.
Other devices connect fine, including Ipad 2.
This same Mini worked fine at another house and also connected to a mobile hotspot fine....so seems to be some weird IP issue with maybe this Access Point or maybe the older Router that I have (older Netgear)?
I am actually a network engineer and still have not been able to find a solution. Both the Ipad Mini and the Dlink WAP have the latest firmware loaded.
Wondering if anyone has found a solution to this problem. -

Hi Please take a look at the below query and its plan. The Step 9 in the Plan applies the condition (ebill.is_synced_to_orig = 0 OR ebill.is_synced_to_orig IS NULL). but since it is a index scan it only applies is_synced_to_orig = 0 condition. But ideally the other selectivity should also be considered somewhere else right. but I could not see that in the plan.
Is oracle skipping that condition?? much appreciate if someone can say what is happening in this plan for is_synced_to_orig IS NULL condition. thanks...

you are correct. The Custom HTML Store that we have developed worked just fine. What about Custom HTML Libraries?
I compared the file AdobeLibraryAPI.js from r23 and r25 and they are quite different.
Up to r24, the Custom HTML Library was incompatible with Custom HTML Store. Apparently, the Store API (adobe.dps.store) was replaced by the Library API (adobeDPS.libraryService). Can you confirm if this is still the case?
Also, I really need a way to switch from one application state to another, something like adobe.dps.store.goToLibrary() or adobe.dps.store.goTo('library'). Is there anyway to achieve this? Maybe using the Library API?

I can't figure out what's wrong with this code
First i want this program to allow me to enter a number with the EasyReader class and depending on the number entered it will show that specific line of this peom:

The error message i got was an illegal start of expression. I can't figure out why it is giving me this error because i have if (n = 1) || (n = 2) statements. My code is:

What's wrong with this Function(PL/SQL) in this formaula column definition in Reports 6i

I get the following error in compiling
REP-1401. 'currdateformula'.Fatal PL/SQL error occured. ORA-01843 not a valid month.
The SQL select to_char(sysdate, 'DD-MM-YYYY') from dual; worked well in SQL Plus prompt.
I got a clean compile when i use just sysdate in the function (see below).

what you are trying to do :
fetch the current date and return it as the result of the formula-column.
what you are actually doing :
fetch the current date, convert it to text, assign this text to a date-variable which causes an implicit type-conversion.
in your case you create a date-string with the format dd-mm-yyyy. the implicit conversion then tries to convert this string back to date using the NLS settings of your session. depending on your NLS_LANG and NLS_DATE_FORMAT this might work, if your session-date-format is dd-mm-yyyy which obviously it is NOT as you get the error.
what you should do :
select sysdate into curr_date from dual;
this fetches the sysdate and stores it in your date-variable. there is no type conversion needed what so ever.

I am using itunes 10 and trying to consolidate my files. I keep getting the error "Copying files failed. The file name was invalid or too long". How can I indentify what file is causing this problem or resolve this issue?

Yes, I just get that message. I don't see how I could investigate this problem.
I didn't mention that this happened when I was consolidating my library, not copying files to another computer.
In other words, I'm using a "normal" itunes procedure, itunes won't complete it, and won't tell me exactly why or how to figure out how to fix it...
Is there at least some easy way to tell which files were successfully copied to my itunes music folder so I can work on moving the uncopied files?

Are you using DHCP to allocate IP addresses via your router or Static IP allocation?
You may have an IP conflict in your network.
Check on your various network configuration parameters in your iPad, PC and WiFi router.
