What type of FireWire to use

What type of FireWire to use to transfer files from my imac to my new macbook pro. Apple has several different types on their website and I do not know which type I need. THanks for any suggestions.

It would depend on the type of Firewire ports you have on each computer. If it is a very new MacBook Pro, then it may only have the FW 800 port. Depending on how old the iMac is, it may only have FW 400.
If both computers have Firewire 800 ports, you could use that.
I found this site searching for a FW400-FW800. It has pictures of both ports: http://www.sonnettech.com/product/fw_adapter.html

I've seen lots of conflicting reports on different polishes such as Brasso and the like.
I think one major variable is what type of cloth was used.
If people could please report what type of cloth is used, that'd be great. Thanks.

    Selenia,
Thanks very much for the quick response, however, this does not help me.
The newest version of Crystal Reports that we have is 7.01.  The menu selection you specified under Report does not exist.
The actual machine and instance of Crystal Reports that was used to create this was in another Business Unit and on machines that were retired long ago.

All you will need is a USA adapter for your MBP power adapter since it will work in  electrical environments from 100v. to 220V.  It seems that a type B will be needed.

  • What type of SCR to use?

i need to construct a three phase full converter without using a three phase transformer to control my output voltage, but i should use the firing angle to meet:
    *Voltage source RMS value L-L : 750 V
    *Source Frequency                    : 5000Hz
    *Load Resistance                      : 10 Ohms
    *Load Inductance                       : 50 mH
    * Harmonics %                           : 10%
*DC output Voltage% of output Voltage maximum : 85%
can someone help me out please, because i should use a Thyristor (SCR) to control my circuit, and my circuit is not working when i try to simulate it. Plus i don't know how to plug an SCR in the crcuit and what type of SCR to plug.
    Thanks for helping.

  • What type of encryption is using in Oracle Application (EBS)?

    Dear all,
I am using oracle application version 11.5.8 and the oracle database version is
9.2.0.4. When I am login the oracle application, what type of encryption is?
    How can I know?
    Best Regards,

    As standard? None.
Are you talking about password encryption in 11.5.8 ? It's a reversible encryption algorithm.
Are you talking about the network layer? Only if you've setup to run https mode.

  • What type of protocol is used in local Logging Framework?

The hard disk changes with each generation of drive.. the original series were 7200rpm drives.. but as green drives became more readily avaialble and cheaper.. especially cheaper.. Apple moved to them.. The Latest TC uses WD green drives exclusively now..
Standard ordinary green WD are 5400rpm but maybe variable.
It is a slowish drive although probably just as fast as the original 500GB Seagate.
Now the important point.. there is no speed advantage in using a faster drive.. these boxes are processor-controller bound.
You can replace the slow green drive with an SSD and there is no improvement in speed.
Read the review where they did just that.

  • How to find what type of firewire port I have

I need to import video from an older camcorder with a Firewire cable. Under my hardware it says "up to 800 MB / sec. but it doesn't say what type of port it is. I need to buy one, but not sure what to get. I looked at the port and it doesn't look like there are "pins"

    Hi, no "pins" per se...
    FW800 port...
    FW400 port...
Then you need to see what Firewire port/cable your Camera needs...

  • What type of HDD is used in the time capsule unit?

I was just wondering what type of Hard Disk Drive was used in the time capsule device. Is it a "SATA" type drive or is it a "SSD"? If it's a SATA drive how fast is it( e.g.: 5400 rpm or 7500 rpm ). If it is a standard HDD can it be replaced with a Solid State Drive or a Fusion Drive type HDD.

  • What type of column to use for this situation in SharePoint 2010?

    Hi there,
In a SharePoint 2010 list - I have to add a few columns which need users to pick a numeric value and it's unit of measurement. E.g.
    - 30 (Inches/ft/cms)  <-- Here 30 is a number field and then a dropdown to select a unit.
An option is to create two columns (1st - Number type and 2nd Dropdown with Inches/ft/cms values).
But I have a lot of such sets in the same list and am not sure if above is the best way to go?
Are there any other options for me? Is a Site Content Type a good option? Anything else?
    Thanks.

    Hi,
I can think of two ways that you can accomplish what you are trying to -
    1. Content types could be a way or Create Site columns and prepopluate the values in these columns and use it in your list
    2. create custom column (C#) see here for more info -http://msdn.microsoft.com/en-us/library/ff648469.aspx
    Hope this helps!

  • What type of firewire cord do I need to keep older camcorder to imovie?

I have a new (2010) mac, but use imovie HD (circa 2005) and have an older Sony TRV camcorder that attached to my old imac (2005) with one firewire cable, but that same cable doesn't fit on the new mac.  i have found online that the new macs have an 800 port, but honestly i don't know what these means.
I have gone to a handful of electronic stores and most don't even carry firewire cables and those that do, don't carry the right one.  i think my only option is buying on ebay, but when i search firewire cables there is nothing that specifies 800-port.  any help would be much appreciated.
    thanks,
    J.

    Firewire800 uses a 9-pin connector whereas Firewire400 uses a 6-pin connector.
Camcorder sometimes use a Firewire400 with a 4-pin connector, which is the same as the 6-pin but without the power-supplied.
    http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/IEEE_1394
Best is to get a Firewire800-to-Firewire400 cable of appropriate length.
    Bought mine at Amazon.

  • Forms wizard does not allow what type of field to use as default?

I have Acrobat 9 and am creating a form that has ober 300 fields (for logging calls).
The issue I have is when starting the wizard, it defaults to creating all 300 fields as TEXT boxes. I'd like to have them as COMBO BOXES. I see no way to change them or to change how adobe 9 creates them at start up of the wizard.
I know I can do them one at a time and even copy and paste groups of them, but they don't line up as well when I do it this way.
    Any ideas?
    Thanks

    Hi!
Thanks very much for your reply. Precisely what I'm hoping to do is stamp annotations--to the point that I've prototyped three whole toolbars of fixtures, sensors, and wall controls with mocked up rubber stamps, and marked up several whole buildings worth of construction plans to show the concept.
Okay--so the stamp annotation looks terrific. How do I find out more? The Acrobat 9.1 SDK (under "Plug-ins and Applications", then "Creating Annotations") says this:
Several annotation types exist, which are identified  by their subtype. Each subtype can have additional properties that  extend the basic ones. The subtype for text annotations (also called  notes) is text. The subtype for link annotations is link. The Acrobat  core API contains two built-in annotation typedefs PDTextAnnot and PDLinkAnnot. A PDTextAnnot object corresponds to a text annotation and a PDLinkAnnot object corresponds to a link annotation.
That paragraph (and the subsequent pages in that chapter) led me to think that my options were:
    Text annotation
    Link annotation
    3D annotation
Dive into the Cos layer and create a custom annotation
Where can I find documentation on the Stamp annotation? (I do have the Stamper sample application.)
    Thanks again,
    John Murdoch
