  • How can you tell what version of Quicktime you have?

How do you determine what version of Quicktime you have on your computer? What version do you need for a new 30G Video iPod? How do you upgrade versions, if necessary?
Thanks in advance for any help.
iPod mini for windows   Windows XP

Open a QT document and use the Help menu, where you should see an item labeled (I believe) About Quicktime Player. That should tell you the version running the player.
You need QT Pro and QT 7 to have a preset for iPod video. You probably can use QT 6 if you use these settings in making an mpeg-4 video:
"MPEG-4 video: up to 2.5 mbps, 480x480, 30 frames per sec., Simple Profile with AAC-LC up to 160 Kbps, 48 Khz, stereo audio in .m4v, .mp4 and .mov file formats<<
QT 7 is available for download from the Apple site by clicking on

  • What versions of Weblogic currently have Subject Alternative Name support?

I would like to visit a comment I saw in an old forum thread from 2010
Certificate hostname verification error with 10.3
that "WebLogic currently does not support the Subject Alternative Name field." Can someone please let me know what versions of Weblogic currently have Subject Alternative Name support? We are currently on 10.3. Is there anything near that version that has support, or a patch available for it?
    Regards,
    John

The KM number is the article number on the support site. Logon to Oracle support and paste the number into the knowledge search and you will get your answer. The article is called "How to Develop Custom Hostname Verifier for Subject Alternative Name (SAN) Certificates" and applies to WLS 10.3.3 and later.

+Strange how I do not have this problem with my ipod nano!!+
What folders did you back up and then restore after reinstalling Windows? The nano does not use a few folders that iPhones/iTouch/iPads use. But they both use the same library database file, iTunes Library.itl. That is the main file that tells itunes if a device has been synced to it.

  • What version app do i have? how do i find out?

I don't always download updates to apps when a new one is available unless its worthwhile. Secially when the app is rather large, such as infinity blade.
That said, when an update is available for, say infininty blade, how do i know what version i have so i know if it's worth downloading another 500MB.
    thanks.

Sync your apps to iTunes. Once that has been done click on "Apps" under the Library section of iTunes. Right click which app you want to know the version of and click on "Get info," the version will displayed on the window that appears. Also, most apps will have page within it on the iPhone to display what version you are running.
    Hope this helps.

  • Thunderbird not responding, and I need to know how to find out what version of Thunderbird I have?

I am running Windows 7 Home Premium, use Firefox, but not sure how to tell what version. I have Zone Alarm anti-virus / firewall, iolo System Mechanic, and run them both regularly. I also have a g-mail account, a folder labeled "Gmail" in Thunderbird, and basically, 100% of my Gmail messages come to my Thunderbird inbox. After Thunderbird is opened, the green "loading" circle is seen rotating, @ bottom lower left says "Downloading message", @ bottom lower right, the "progress bar" BARELY shows any green, and Thunderbird takes FOREVER to load. If I try to click on an e-mail, (most times I don't even have to do that), my screen turns a milky opaque white, and at top of page says "Thunderbird"(not responding). Usually, I have to just leave the laptop, and return in 30 minutes or so to start opening my e-mails. Sometimes, it is ready for me to begin reading e-mail, and other times, it is STILL not responding, and I must continue to wait. Using cntrl / alt /del...task manager, scroll to Thunderbird, and click "end process" does no good; restarting, OR shut down / restart also does no good.

Typing '''Thunderbird Compact Folders''' into Google search will get you here.

  • How do I determine what version of Firefox I have and where do I go for updates/

Yahoo is 'suggesting' I upgrade to Firefox''' 8'''. How do I determine which version I currently have (there is not 'Internet Options' under Tools) and where to I go to find the updates withough depending on Yahoo?

    Hey kkwebb,
There is a KB article called [[Updating Firefox]] that should have all the info you are looking for. You can find out what version of FF you are currently using by going to the Help menu at the top left of Firefox, then choosing "About Firefox." That will not only tell you what version you are using, but it will also let you know if there is an available upgrade.
    Hopefully this helps!

  • What version 8800GT do I have?

    Hi all!
Could I ask if those with Early 2008 Mac Pro's (3,1) could post their Graphics card info from the system profiler if you have a 8800GT? The reason I ask is because I bought a BTO Mac Pro with a 8800GT card from the Apple Store, and I'm seeing posts which suggest my 8800GT card is a 1st gen Mac pro card!
    This is my Gfx info:
Chipset Model: NVIDIA GeForce 8800 GT
    Type: Display
    Bus: PCIe
    Slot: Slot-1
    PCIe Lane Width: x16
    VRAM (Total): 512 MB
    Vendor: NVIDIA (0x10de)
    *Device ID: 0x0602*
    Revision ID: 0x00a2
    ROM Revision: 3233
The device ID for the 1st gen upgrade kit seems to be 0x0602, whereas the 2008 kit I believe is 0x0611.
I have been having issues with my card, screen tearing and rather slow performance, and wonder if this could be the problem?
    Any feedback appreciated.

    Hatter,
    Maybe I didn't explain correctly...
I have a brand spanking new, 3 week old, EFI64 ROM, Early 2008 Octo Mac Pro...I'm not worried about what Mac Pro I have (I know I have the latest, see my signature). This machine was purchased from the Apple Store on the 2nd Feb 2009.
Now that we know I have a NEW Mac Pro, I'm asking: What version of the 8800GT card do I have? As I noted, there are in fact TWO versions of the 8800GT, as you suggested in your reply. The one version, as you noted, will work in Mac Pro's with EFI32 roms, the other will only work in Early 2008 (EFI64) machines.
The EFI32 card uses a different ROM and has a device ID of 0x0602 from what I understand. I also understand the EFI64 only card has a device ID of 0x0611. The later EFI64 card Supports PCI Express 2.0, the EFI32 supports PCI Express....
So: Will the EFI32 card work in a 2008 Mac Pro (EFI64) but simply run slower? And what version of the card do I have?
    -Jacques.

  • What version router do I have?

    Hello,
I own a wireless G with speedbooster router (WRT54GS). I'd like to download the latest firmware upgrades. However, there are six versions of this router on the firmware download page to choose from. I'm not sure what version of the router I have? It's not printed anywhere on the router itself.
How can I find out what version of the router I have?
    Thanks,
    radicalkat

at the bottom of the router itself, there's a linksys logo... right below it, you will see the model number plus the version number.. it's kinda small print..

  • 2006/2007 MacPro 2.66GH Intel Xeon. What version EFI should it have?

I have a 2006/2006 2.66GH Intel Zeon MacPro.  This version MacPro came with a 32 bit EFI firmware.  After having a new video card iunstalled at the Apple Store I found that my MacPro would no longer recognize bootable FW800 external drives or my eSATA external drives during an OPTION boot.  This function had worked perfectly before I had the video card switched out.  My FW800 drive DO show up on the desktop after boot and are accesssable... I just can no longer boot up my bootable SuperDuper backups as I had been able to prior to the video card switch.
My thinking is that the technician thought he was doing me a favor and upgraded my machine to the latest 64 bit EFI ... While the machine works fine my bootable backups are useless.
What version EFI SHOULD this machine have and how do I check the version to see if I am correct?  If this IS the case how can I restore the original firmware?
    Thanks....

Here is some information for you.
You don't even say what video card. And the EFI in your sysem 1,1 or 2,1 isn't going to change into UEFI 2.x instead of 1.1 (which was developed in 2005, and doesn't have room to be flased to, nor would the motherboard be happy).
The rest, if you bought a card from Apple like ATI 5770 is not from having a new card.
That card requjres 10.6.4-1/2 or later, meaning you won't have a 10.6.5 DVD to boot from and can't use older DVDs. Or clones.  You need to find a way to update your backups.
In the past I could run a combo update against clones while booted from another drive. Last time I tried that, seems 10.6.x made that impossible, and harder to apply and test.
Only 2008 Mac Pro and later have the EFI64/UEFI (2.x) - that supports things like Nvidia GTX 285. There were two versions of Nvidia 8800GT (1st gen EFI32, and 2008+).  ATI cards work in all Mac Pro models - as long as the OS has the proper minimum build..
