Whats the hold music like on an iPhone?

I think the best hold music I have ever heard was on a toshiba phone I think. I have rung many call centers and as you know they put you on
hold and one of those bulk by all-purpose business phones has a nice ditty-song done on something like a ZX spectrum but softly. Anybody
else heard that ditty-song?

Well I found it. It was Grensleves with a harp instrument:

Don't forget how much more retro that will sound over an old phone

To do this you will have to do a restore using iTunes but since you are on ios 5.1 you should just update to 5.1.1 in itunes. Warning this will remove the jailbreak

  • Whats the best way to backup my iphone?

Hello. I am brand new to iphones....actually to apple anything. Never owned an apple product.  I dont quite understand the whole itunes/icloud thing at all and I was hoping someone could explain it to me.  All that I wish to accomplish is make sure all of my stuff on my iphone(apps, pics, music, etc) is backed up regularly and in the event that my iphone is lost/stolen, breaks, needs to be replaced for any reason, or if I upgrade to a new iphone I would like to be able to recover everything.
OK, so far I have itunes installed on my laptop and I "sync" with that regularly (pretty much whenever I install a new app). But is my understanding correct that by syncing with itunes all of my stuff is stored locally on my laptop? If that is true, then what happens if my laptop crashes? So thats where I thought icloud came in. So I started backing up to icloud (via wifi in Settings>icLoud>storage&backup).  But I notice that when I backup this way it is actually only backing up a small amount of data (in-app data??) rather than the entire app.
I thought you would be able to sign into icloud.com and be able to view everything that you have ownership of or what you have backed up but that is not the case. I did download the icloud control panel to my laptop and it shows a little more information.
So bottom line is I just need someone to explain how this stuff works and what the best course of action is for me to take regularly to make sure everything is safe, Thanks everyone!  I sincerely appreciate any help you can give me!!

    bjs19781978,
There are 2 ways to back up as you have stated.  iTunes or iCloud.
You are correct in saying iTunes backs up everything on your computer.  If you do lose your computer though, you will lose that information, but you would most likely still have your phone unless you lose your computer and phone at the same time which would royally suck.
You can also back up to iCloud like you have said.  iCloud does not back up in the exact same way as iTunes, it only backs up application data, contacts, address books, and a few more things.  The advantage to this is it does it automatically if you are connected to wifi, the phone is locked, and the phone is plugged in.
Look at this link to see exactly what iCloud does back up.  Hopefully this helps a little.

  • How do I see what the usage ACTUALLY is on my iPhone????

In iTunes, the oppressively imposed way of managing my iPhone, I see the bar chart at the bottom showing usage.
It's a 16 gb iPhone 4, running IOS5. I have something called "Other" which is using up 3.2 gb of storage space on my iPhone. What the **** is "other"???? Also, the music library grew from 4 gb to 6 gb without my changing anything????? I can't find anything to delete to free up this space. Why can't I see a Finder view of the various files and assets on the iPhone??? the previous iPod's would show up as regular mounted volumes but I have to manage the iPhone through a hidden software interface black box. This is like the Microsoft approach to doing things. What is this crap?????

Yes, I can see that, but they are general headings, does not include any info for photos and videos captured using the iPhone camera or anything saved under Photos. It's a limited user experience that is lacking in utility and usefulness.
What the iPhone really needs is to be opened up so that it can be browsed, as a mounted volume from the Mac, without having to rely upon very poor quality proprietary software applications like iPhoto in order to manage simple things like photos and videos. The old iPod was a little better that way. Most ordinary cell phones are a hundred times better in that regard. Bluetooth on the iPhone serves no purpose except for hooking up accessories, like mic/earphones. There is no way to transfer a photo TO the iPhone without sending over email or some other online, over-the-wires method, in order to view other photos on the iPhone. Any cheap cell phone nowadays with Bluetooth will allow easy transfer of photos, mp3's and videos in a easy to use Finder experience.
I find this oppressive restriction imposed by Apple on these devices to be very poor show.
This is much too much like the tightly controlled Microsoft user experience.

  • Whats the best way to connect multiple iphones, ipads, ipods with multiple accounts to one mac

I have iPhone 5s, ipad 4th gen ipod classic and mac mini on one itunes account with iphone 4s with ipad 1st gen on another account (wife's account) and also want to be able to add to this in the future. I want to connect through the mac mini and be able to use music movies calanders reminders etc through all our i's, whats the simplest and best way to go about this, before i start down the wrong road.

Ok, here is the link to the original thread.  The key, for him, was that all of the pads used the same apple id, and needed to be set up identically.
    https://discussions.apple.com/message/15456170#15456170
The other trick they use for distributing materials for whatever class was using the pads, was to create an e mail account that they all had acees to.  The documents, pdf, or whatever, would be e mailed to the account.  Each kid accesses and downloads the email.  Does whatever they are supposed to do, and e mails the done result back to the mailbox.     Easy for the teacher and the kids.

  • What the **** has Apple done now? iPhone 4 no longer syncs correctly

After all the B/S of trying to sync a SonyEriccson P1i the iPhone 4 was a beath of fresh air. So typically 'Apple' with its simplicity and efficiency.
Yet suddenly it will not sync correctly. Is it iTunes 10.1.2 or iOS 4.2.1 to blame? I have no idea.
Only some of the new contacts entered into the phone transfer to the Address Book. Those that do not will not transfer in ANY direction ie. neither from MBP to iPhone or vice-versa. Enter in a nonsense address and it will sync. Modify it to one of the 'troublesome' addresses in the Adrees Book and it will not update on the iPhone.
What the **** has Apple done now? Is this another crappy untested update somewhere?

Right then, for those who want to know the most likely suspect for all this sync'ing grief is the Sony Ericsson P1i.
Having finally got the iPhone talking to iTunes normally with latest contacts, calendar, Mail accounts etc AND syncing new contacts in BOTH directions (MBP to iP4 and iP4 to MBP) I then synced the SE P1i with the latest definitive up-to-date Address Book using Device Reset in order to wipe the phone first.
Everything suddenly stopped working again with the iPhone/iTunes syncing.
Getting it working again involved importing an old Address Book backup and doing a manual iPhone sync. Then restart everything, throw away the iPhone backup within iTunes, open up Mail and just click on stuff before closing it (because the Mail Accounts had also disappeared from the iPhone again), doing a manual 'One-Time' sync of Contacts forcing the computer info onto the iPhone, re-importing the latest Address Book backup on the MBP, doing one more manual sync, restart everything, throw away the iphone backup and then an auto sync.
Finally, everything gets loaded back onto the iPhone and the ability to add or delete contacts on both iPhone and MBP is reinstated with sync in both directions.
Moral of the story? Crush your Sony Ericsson. The P900 series used to sync cleanly and easily via Bluetooth (both Contacts AND Calendars), but the P1i is and always has been troublesome and difficult and has a VERY unstable Bluetooth connection. I went through months of misery with the third-party app Missing Sync and suffered corrupted computer Address Books all the time. A real piece of SH1T.

  • Does anyone know what the partitions look like after installing boot camp on a 3T fusion drive

I installed a boot camp partition on a 3T fusion drive.  Running disk utility afterward it looks like this.
Is this what it should look like?  I understand about the need for bootcamp to create 2 physical drives in core storage in order to install boot camp on a 3T fusion drive but should I see both drives after it is done?

  • I click to restore my iPhone from the last backup that I've made, I get the confirmation that it has been restored however, when my iPhone restarts nothing changes, it comes up as the 'set up' like a new iPhone again. Help!!

I've tried several times and the same thing keeps happening, my iPhone says its backing up it restarts itself but it's back to the start and it sets up as a new iPhone

You may not get a response as you are shouting at everyone.
All caps indicates shouting, is considered rude, and is difficult to read.

Try turning off you caps lock and asking again.

  • Is it possible to use music like ringtone for iphone 5?

How can I put music as ringtone?
    Help me

You have to trim a song to 40 sec or less. (Right click on a song>get info>options>set start and stop time).
Then right click again and click on Creata AAC version.
Find the new file (right click>show in finder/explorer) and rename the extension to m4r.
Drug the new file to iTunes Tones section (left pane of iTunes)
    Sync your iPhone.
    Try google for detail directions

  • HT1711 I have an itunes account with my own music (non purchased).  I have loaded the playlists to my iphone and ipod.  How can I load the same music on my wifes iphone and ipad

How do I syn my own music (non purchased) from my itunes account to my wifes iphone and ipad

Does your wife sync her phone with a different computer or iTunes.
If so you need to copy that music to that iTunes
If she syncs with the same iTunes as you do just select your music and sync as normal

I still believe this is the recycling program I told you about earlier. If you read the link I gave you, it talks about getting a price for your device if it works.

I noticed the apps tab for my iPhone in iTunes 10.7 only displays the four rows of apps. When will iTunes be upgraded to support the iPhone 5's five rows?
