When adding a reminder from an Email.

Since updating to 10.10.1 I notice that a "New List" is created every time I "add a reminder" by highlighting text in an email.
The "New List" contains the reminder but this behaviour is not correct, it is supposed to add the reminder to the Reminder

A larger file can cause problems when it tries to open on an iPad but if the document is only text, I don't know if that it would be too large for the iPad. I've had problems with larger spreadsheet files. Typically text does not take up that much space but if there are lots of photos and images in the document it may be too large.
Quit your recent/open apps by double tapping the home button to bring up the recent apps in the task bar. Hold down on one of the app icons until they all wiggle. Then tap the minus signs in the upper left corner to close all of the apps in the bar. Tap the home button twice to return to the home screen. Restart the iPad.
Hold down on the sleep button until the red slider appears and slide to shut down. Then hold the sleep button until the Apple logo appears to power up again.
If this is happening with a bunch of apps, try downloading a free app and see if the problem goes away. You can delete the app if you don't want it.

    I don't think that is user fixable, meaning you'll have to wait till adobe fixes it with an update.

    What format are the attachments? If Pages will not display them properly you will need an application that does. Pages usually opens word documents but can give problems at times, if they are MS Word documents, try Libre Office or failing that you may have to purchase MS Word for Mac, maybe you will need to buy the complete Office suite.
    The other possiblity is that you already have a suitable application and Pages is loading the file by default, if so change the default application to open that file type.

    Hi all, I have a 64gb iPad 2 running iOS 5.1 which work have supplied me with, I'm an apple n00b but am quite experienced with Windows. My mail is synchronised with the office server and I can access that on my Windows laptop or my iPad.
    When I receive a new email that I need to either reply to or perform an action in order for it to be considered complete (ie not just a FYI email that I can file away), I can set this email as a to-do task in Windows, set a coloured reminder to the email, flag the email with a reminder to pop onto my screen etc at a later date - ie loads of ways to highlight to me that this needs to be actually actioned but there doesn't seem to be any way of doing anything with the embedded email program other than mark it as unread.
    At the moment I'm resorting to creating a subfolder called "To do" and manually moving these emails there for the minute but setting a reminder or task, which I've had the ability to set on Windows Outlook since the 90's, seems impossible on the iPad. Other than this my only options seem to be marking the email as unread or going to the reminders app myself and type a 'manual' reminder referencing this email.
    Is there any way, or app, that I can either create a reminder/task straight to reminders from the email or, at the very least, do something to differentiate it from the rest of the emails in my inbox (even highlighting it in a colour would do)?

    This is an extremely vexing problem and I would like to know if anyone has a solution please.  Here is my situation:
    Using standalone (simply my home one not connected to network or exchange) Outlook 2007 (soon to upgrade to 2013) on PC - Windows 8.1.  Have an iPhone 6.  Want the closest possible functionality (particularly categories, reminders, etc.) on my iPhone for my standalone Outlook.  The only thing I have found close is DejaOffice and Companion Link (which work together).  I am seriously considering as appears a close mirror image for all things I do, but they don't have email.  So, can someone please give me either a) a better comprehensive application/solution; b) a separate 3rd party email app that will allow me to flag an email, on either computer or iPhone with perfect sync, as a reminder without having to create a separate task; or c) your best/closest solution set to be as seamlessly productive as possible using either native or 3rd party email app and your :"manual workaround."  Thanks.

  • How can I avoid a pop-up when I'm going from an email to the email list?

    I use Mozilla firefox to go online. When I've opened an email I've received and then want to return from that email to the email list, I click "backspace." Half the time, it gets me back to the email list. The other half the time, a window pops up, saying:
    "To display this page, Firefox must send information that will repeat any action (such as a search or order confirmation) that was performed earlier" and I have to choose to cancel or resend. I always click resend. I don't want this window to pop-up. When I read an email and then hit the backspace key, I just want to get back to the email list.

    Don't use backspace to go back to that page. Either open the link in a new tab with a middle-click and close that tab to go back or click a link to go back to the inbox if there is such a link on that page.

    I found that right clicking on my hard drive, Get Info and under Sharing & Permissions when the Privilege was changed to Read & Write, the authentication pop ups stopped and I could drag pictures to my desktop and save attachments there also.  Now my hubby and I will investigate the Names under S&P.  We know one is System, another is him sharing.  There is a third that says everyone so it will be the main one we research.  I get the basics of what they are - to secure folders etc. from someone getting into my computer.  I'm sure this is a pretty basic description of the issue so I guess if you read this and try any of this to stop the authentication, you should make sure you know what and why.

  • No option when opening a pdf from an email attachment

    I recently had trouble opening a pdf file that was attached to an email, and while mucking around with it, I tried opening it up in Word (which didn't help that particular problem anyway).  Unfortunately, now, all my emailed pdf files open up automatically in Word rather than Acrobat Reader.
    So now my question is, how do I get them to automatically open in Acrobat reader directly from the emailed attachment instead of Word? At the moment I have to save them all to my c: drive, then right click on them and select Open With Acrobat Reader 10.  What I want is for them to automatically open in Acrobat Reader 10 rather than having to save them all to my c: drive first because I have many, many of them to print out.  Can anyone help me with this please?

    Can you try saving any PDF onto your local machine (say C:\) and then right click on the same.
    1. Click on the "Open With > Chose Program".
    2. Select Adobe Reader 10 and make sure that you check the checkbox "Always use the selected program to open this kind of file"
    3. Click on OK and you should be good to go.

  • Outlook 2013 crashes when adding an event using an emailed ics file.

    I use Outlook 2013, Hotmail and an Android phone to manage my calendar, with Outlook 2013 and Android synching to the Outlook.com account.
    Scenario 1:
    1. Receive meeting requests with attached ics files from an Apple Mac user
    2. Drag ics file attachment to the Outlook calendar
    3. "Meeting" window opens
    4. Click "Accept" then "Send Response Now" OR "Do Not Send a Response"
    OR "Edit the Response Before Sending" then "Send"
    5. Outlook crashes (see event log below) and restarts
    6. On restart the meeting request has been added to the Outlook calendar
    7. Meeting is not in the Outlook.com calendar
    8. Meeting organiser does not receive email response

    Observations:
    Re-creating the Hotmail account OST file makes no difference.
    The workaround described here:

    requires approximately 15 clicks, instead of two or three, so isn't workable for large numbers of meeting requests.

    Windows 8.1 - Most recent Windows Update check: "No updates are available"
    Outlook 2013 (15.0.4675.1003), standalone installation (no Exchange Server) - Most recent Office Updates check: "The latest version of Office is installed on your computer"

    Sorry for the delay. I was supposed to get alerts on this, but I never did. N2K has been built and rebuilt, and still the error comes up. For one Exchange user that's in the N2K file, I can look at it now, and it matches up with others on the same server.
    But 2-3 days from now, it will somehow be changed to“/o=First Organization/ou=First Administrative Group/cn=Recipients/cn=user” and that starts Outlook crashing again. The error happened for several months, and during this time the user was moved to a new
    Exchange server. A new profile was created after the move, but the problem followed him.
    I removed the offending user again today. The entry in n2K is getting changed to “/o=First Organization/ou=First Administrative Group/cn=Recipients/cn=user”. I found that is is a legacyExchange issue, but I don't know from where it's being changed -
    on the user who's Outlook is crashing, on the user sending the email, or on the AD server. I am not an Exchange expert, so reading a few websites that point out what this is didn't really help me figure out how to remove the legacyExchange problem. The customer
    is using hosted Exchange, so I can't get onto the server to dig into it. Is it in the Global Address Book, or a user's individual contact?
    I ran OffCAT and it pointed out two addins that had Resiliancy set. They were both Outlook Addins, DPOfcX.ComposeRibbon and OutlookChangeNotifier.Connect. So I hope they aren't the issue.

  • Need help on volume issue when adding a song from itunes

    I am creating a podcast.  I am hoping to create a guided meditation CD with speaking and background music.  I used the male voice to record the speaking vocals and adjusted some small areas slightly for volume if I was too close to the microphone, etc.  It is a twelve minute recording.  I then added a music selection (for background) from my itunes by clicking on media browser, audio, and dragging the song into the track area.  It automatically put it in Jingles.  When I listened to the new recording, speaking vocals and music together, the background music had distinct variations in its sound, going louder and softer on its own, sporadically, jumping in random places.  It doesn't do that if I listen to the music selection directly from itunes.  So the volume increasing and decreasing only happens when it is brought into garageband.  When I hit play on the final piece, the vocals sound exactly as they should but the music jumps around in volume randomly.
    I have tried putting the music selection in as a new basic track instead of Jingles.
    I have also tried starting with a new podcast, putting the music in first and then adding the completed vocals (I tried it in both male voice and female voice). 
    I have tried putting the music selection into a project by itself with no vocals and it sounds just fine... the volume problem happens when I add the speaking vocals to the project. 
    I have also tried dragging the music selection from a file on my computer instead of from itunes.  None of these things have helped.
    Somehow the vocals and the music together in garageband make the music sound wonky.  Please help.  Any advice would be helpful.

    When I delete a message from my mac email, sometimes 2 messages will be deleted.  I haven't read the 2nd message and have to go to undo to get the deleted message.  How do i correct this? 

    Are you sure your not deleting a conversation rather than an e-mail?

  • "Party Hightlight" shows up when adding an Arrow from Library?

    Hello,
    I am getting some strange behavior from Encore CS4.
    When I add a pre-made arrow from the library to my menu to be used as a subpicture, what I get on the menu is "Party Highlight".
    This happens on the four different arrows I have tried to throw on the menu.
    I made the menu by dragging "blank menu" from the library.
    What is going on here?
    I have been dragging arrows from the library since Encore 1.0
    Could my issues with Encore CS4 have anything to do with having Encore v1 still on my system?
    I am getting some really basic bugs here.

    I don't know how to read what you are getting at with this statement - "Is this arrow a shape in the Library? If you're dragging it into a blank menu, what did you expect to happen?"
    Is this some kind of attitude or sincere question?
    I will restate what was written in my post:
    1) - I created a menu by dragging the "blank menu" from the library
    2) - Finished creating my buttons and wanted to add some subpictures
    3) - Dragged a premade arrow from the library into my project bin
    4) - Then dragged the arrow from the project bin on to the menu
    5) - What appear on the menu is the text "Party Highlight"  - This is part of a premade menu which resides in the library
    6) - Tried three different arrows from the library and none of them wind up as arrows on the menu, all show up as the text "Party Highlight".
    The arrows are not showing up as arrows when they are added to the menu.

  • SAP GRC 10.1 AMF No data selected when adding duplicate fields from separate tables for configurable data sources

    Hi There,
    In SAP GRC 10.0, our team had an issue where we could not add duplicate fields from separate table (see ERROR: Select Currency/UoM field for the selected analyzed fields). This was resolved by the SAP Note 1904313/ 1904314 (http://service.sap.com/sap/support/notes/1904313).
    We upgraded our system to SAP GRC 10.1 SP05 and could now add the duplicate fields from separate tables. SAP Note 1904313/ 1904314 was part of SAP GRC 10.1 SP03 so it makes sense that we, in a higher version (SP05), would be able to do this.
    The issue now is when we add the duplicate fields from different tables and run the Ad-hoc Query to test if the data source works correctly, the No Data Selected warning persists. This means that the data source provides no data for analysis, which is required to write our business rules.
    Below is an example:
    Basic data source with just one currency reference field EBAN-WAERS.
    When you run the Ad-Hoc Query you receive data.
    Basic data source with second currency reference field EKKO-WAERS.
    When you run the Ad-Hoc Query no data is found.
    Please also make reference to the following thread logged by my colleague (ERROR: Select Currency/UoM field for the selected analyzed fields)
    Any assistance to receive data with duplicate fields from separate tables will be highly appreciated.

  • I an getting a message,"There is a problem sending the command to the program" when contacting a URL from my email

    when I tap on a blue URL line in my email it starts my browser (FireFox 4) which I just upgraded to. I never had any problem before wit this. Though it says that there is a problem I still get Fire Fox to start up and it goes to the URL listed with no trouble. Whats wrong? Is it that my email does not recognize the new 4? I use Window Live 2011

  • Acrobat XI hangs when adding a response from distributed form, when specific form field is filled

    As the question says, when using the distribute form functionality of Acrobat, it hangs at the step of importing or adding a filled form, when a specific field on the form is filled.  It happens whether the tracker automatically detects it when I open the distributed form and asks me to add it, or I manually try to add it in the responses form. Here's the screenshot of when I tried manually adding it.  The first line is the one that hangs and is missing all fields except that "Approved" check box.  But it's the last field "ApprovedDate" that makes it hangs if it's filled in the form.  The Progress dialog just stays there forever and I can't click cancel.  When it tries to add it automatically, nothing appears on the screen, the form just stays open and the tracker doesn't come up.  I'm on Windows 7, Acrobat XI Pro.  I can send you the form if needed.
    Edit: I investigated further and there were Java scripts associated with that date field.  These would have been added while creating the form in Acrobat; I don't remember how exactly, but I only meant to validate the date format.  I've removed all the scripts and reset the desired date format on the field and it seems to work now.

    I use Mavericks and Acrobat XI. I haven't had any issues so far.
