When FTPing an HTML doc up to a site it becomes scrambled using Adobe Dreamweaver v11

I have two systems and while one works fine, the other corrupts my html documents that I upload to the site. I have searched all over and made sure that my configurations are identical and that I am FTP'ing using ASCII.  When using my laptop running Windows 7 32bit the entire HTML file uploaded ends up looking like this:  "x Ü[ksâ8 ýÌT͸ãÔ·©v È›@ªòêéNw²Tšíljj> [`-"
What am I doing wrong?
Thanks...Art

From my laptop I have been using a Sprint Smartview 3G mobile access card to connect to the internet.  I went under <Tools> to the <Acceleration> tab and turned of "Acceleration".  Ran another test and bada bing! It works.  I was concentrating so much on FTp that I never thought about my Wireless access card.  Thanks so much.

    . How do I fix this? It never used to do that.@

    Hi cj0094,
    Please try changing the registry key HKCU\Software\Adobe\Adobe Acrobat\10.0\Annots\cAnnots\cfreetext_003_afreetexttypewriter and change the opacity back to 1. This should reset the color to black.
    Note: Please backup the registry before modifying it.

  • Jump to a Named Anchor when loading an HTML doc

    I have a CollapsiblePanel with a Content Link to a Named
    Anchor in info.html and I thought I could use loadURL() to load the
    page into the Div "thetext" but it does not work. Can Spry Jump to
    a Named Anchor when it loads an HTML doc?
    onClick:
    Spry.Utils.updateContent('thetext',
    '/information2.php#Insurance')
    And I also tried:
    Spry.Utils.loadURL('thetext', '/information2.php#Insurance')
    The Head:
    <script src="SpryAssets/SpryCollapsiblePanel.js"

    Sure - just make the link to the anchor:
    <a
    href="page.php#anchor"
    onclick="popupscript('page.php#anchor');return false;">
    Open my popup window</a>
    Making the link attribute (href=) the same as the popup
    window means that
    people who are visiting your site with javascript turned off
    will also
    get the information from the page. The 'return false' in the
    onclick
    event means that the href won't fire if javascript is turned
    on.

  • Dreamweaver can't preview html doc in Firefox

    When I create an html doc in Dreamweaver and I go to the option Preview in Browser and select Firefox, nothing happens. It is supposed to open a Firefox windows and preview the doc there, but it won't.

    Just DL'd Firefox13 and it still seems the same!
    Out of date or not... It bugged me so here's my answer(MAC), download Firefox 3.5.8 from Mozilla old versions(easy search) and rename it to something relevant, this is your browser for Dreamweaver previews. Download the lastest FF version for general browsing. Edit your dreamweaver browser list to use 3.5.8 - It's a workaround but simply fire up 3.5.8 during site editing and it's plain sailing.

  • Sub-Tabs attached to HTML docs in CS4

    Anyone else find this to be true as well?
    Do yourself a favor and don't use the sub-tabs under a html
    doc to edit CSS. They dont update when you have the CSS file in its
    own tab and save. It makes it incredibly confusing switching
    back-n-forth between the HTML file and the CSS file.
    The only thing it is useful for is quickly seeing all of the
    linked files to your html doc, not for editing those files.

    Hi Tyler,
    Yes, that's correct. The File > Save All command was added
    to help this
    case.

  • RoboHelp freezing when importing large word docs

    What are your experiences with RoboHelp for HTML Help when
    importing large Word docs?
    Mine seems to stop responding and has to be restarted. Also,
    creating PDFs for large docs seems to be a problem.
    While I am here, could someone please answer these questions:
    1. Does RoboHelp support conditional inclusion/exclusion and
    replacement of text? Where you can use a condition to display one
    text OR another.
    2. Does Robo support Modular Help?
    3. What about automating output generation using batch files?
    Is this possible?
    4. Can PDF outputs be customized using templates?
    it looks like Robo offers partial solutions to each of the
    above questions but I will like to hear your experiences, as I am
    on evaluation the tool with limited time.
    TIA.

    It has been documented as a bug by sun Ref: Bug id. 4654443. REGRESSION: Java 1.4 does not work with Redhat's new glibc-2.2.5
    There is a workaround which consists of preloading a shared library using the LD_PRELOAD environment variable before launching the Language Pack
    1. Get the file ftp://people.redhat.com/drepper/libcwait.c.
    2. check if gcc is installed with "rpm -qa | grep gcc".
    3. Install gcc if not present.
    4. Compile the downloaded file with "gcc -shared -o libcwait.so -O -g libcwait.c".
    5. Launch "export LD_PRELOAD=/path/to/libcwait.so".
    6. Launch the LP installer.
    Contents of the libcwait.so file:

  • Javascript missing when insert Fireworks html to Dreamweaver

    I tried to insert fireworks html in a Dreamweaver file. After importing the fireworks html in the Dreamweaver document, the associated Javascript code was missing.
    Of course, the Fireworks html file includes the Javascript code and works properly. It is just that when I insert the Fireworks html into the Dreamweaver file, the associated Javascript code gets lost although the manual clearly says that fireworks html is inserted "along with its associated images, slices, and JavaScript".
    I use Fireworks CS5 and Dreamweaver CS5, but I also tried it using FW CS4 and DW CS4 which did not solve the problem.
    I tried two ways to insert the html code (both with the same negative result):
    1.) using the DW menu: Insert > Image Objects > Fireworks HTML
    2.) Copying the HTML to the clipboard in Fireworks, and then pasting it into the Dreamweaver document
    Of course, I could insert the Javascript code manually, but then I would have to detach the associated template from the DW doc, and I would rather not do that because then later updates to the site will become more complicated.
    BTW, I also tried to insert the fireworks html in another Dreamweaver document not using any template, but the JavaScript code got lost though.
    I would be very grateful if somebody had an idea how to solve this  problem.
    Thanks

    Thank you for your answer.
    "Is the javascript inline with the HTML or does it point to an external resource (like and external JavaScript file)? "
    inline.
    "Does using code view differ from design view as you insert the Fireworks material?"
    No
    "are you trying to paste this Fireworks code into a non-editable region of a Dreamweaver template?"
    No

    Dear Murray,
    I believe you can solve your problem by changing this -
    </head>
    to this -
    <!-- #BeginEditable "head" --><!-- #EndEditable -->
    </head>
    by editing this template directly.
    I tried this, but it did not change anything. As I wrote before, the JavaScript code is not even inserted when I use a "blank", not-template-controlled DW page.
    But nevertheless, your hint is very helpful. By making the complete head editable, I can at least insert the Javascript code manually.
    But is the javascript that is currently shown there part of the FW HTML insertion?  Do you want to preserve that on the child pages?
    It belongs to the template. And yes, I want to preserve it on the child pages. I just want to insert this into the head of the child page:
    function MM_swapImage() { //v3.0
      var i,j=0,x,a=MM_swapImage.arguments; document.MM_sr=new Array; for(i=0;i<(a.length-2);i+=3)
       if ((x=MM_findObj(a[i]))!=null){document.MM_sr[j++]=x; if(!x.oSrc) x.oSrc=x.src; x.src=a[i+2];}
    Maybe we should see the FW code you are trying to insert?
    Sure. Here is the code I tried to insert (of course, most of the Java Script does not need to be inserted as it is already in the template):
    <!DOCTYPE HTML PUBLIC "-//W3C//DTD HTML 4.01 Transitional//EN" "http://www.w3.org/TR/html4/loose.dtd">

    In Word, go to File, Options, Display and make sure that "Print drawing created in word" is CHECKED.
    Mine was unchecked and when I checked it everything came back and is working as it did before.  The only thing I can think of is that a Microsoft Update may have changed this selection...I know I DID NOT make any changes in the options.
    One other thing I noticed in my saved documents folders was that a lot of my files showed up as PDF's and would still not open until I selected one and told it to default to open as a word document and then they all changed back and I was able to open them in word again.
    I hope this helps others out there.

  • Firefox links that worked yesterday don't work today! Even html docs fail! Maybe a bad TSR is running. Big problem.

    Both HTML docs and links dragged from Firefox now fail -- error msg: THERE WAS A PROBLEM SENDING THE COMMAND TO THE PROGRAM -- last night, I had no problem: both types worked fine -- I never shut my HP laptop down -- now I'm afraid to -- I won't even close my Firefox browser -- maybe a TSR is continuing to wreak havoc with my system -- please help soon.

    If you like email me out-of-band and I can send you a full sample .txt file of "hello world" that takes 3K in plain text, 256KByte in rich-text, most of it injected.
    If it looks anything like the sample here, that's unnecessary:
                             Test_Email_Adblock_enabled.txt
    If what you see is substantially different, though, I'd be interested in seeing it. (I can't e-mail you, though, as I don't know your e-mail address. You can find mine, though, by looking at the contact link at the bottom of any page on my site, listed in my profile here.)
    This is not a feature in adblock, I view it as a bug.
    I agree, it should not be doing that.
    My suspicion is that AdBlock works by adding this code to every page you view, thus rendering the advertising elements invisible. However, in the case of OWA, it must be inserting that code in a bad place, where it shows up in the message. Mail servers will be prone to rejecting such a message, probably because some of the strings that code uses to identify these ads might look malicious. There's nothing that I can see in that code that's actually malicious, though... just a bunch of CSS conditions that make matching elements invisible.

    You are missing the servlet mapping tag. The servlet mapping tag maps the servlet name with a url pattern, so that the web server can understand which servlet to call.
    In your html form specify this url-mapping
