when i connect my mac to wifi it appear some messages at the centra of the screen with some of application normall used in my pc like adobe reader website with a band with and give the option to deny it or allow.Please can you help to stop this problem.

The solution was as follows for me anyway...
Go to your Finder
Choose the Go Menu
Choose Computer
Choose your Macintosh Hard Drive
Choose your "Library" Folder
Choose the "Preferences" Folder
There should be a folder called "Audio"
Move that whole folder to the trash
Empty the Trash
Restart from the Apple Menu
When you are back up and running;
     Choose System Preferences from the Apple Menu
     Choose Sound
      In the output tab you should now be able to make the HDMI "Sticky"
      Enjoy your sound over HDMI and no more dirty knees or broken backs unplugging the desktop speakers!

Disconnect all devices from your computer if you have not already done so. Restart again. If the problem has been resolved, you had a peripheral conflict. You will then have to reconnect the devices one at time, restart, to locate the culprit.
Login Items is another culprit. Check your login items.
System Preferences>Accounts>Login Items
Delete/disable all you do not need or want.

iOS 7 will give errors on non Apple certified peripherals. So make sure you only use Apple certified products. Did you backup the phone and then RESTORE AS NEW (not reset)? Try doing that by plugging the phone to iTunes on a computer. See if that helps. If it solves the problem, there could have been corrupted software on you phone. If not, it could be a hardware issue (including the battery), in which case you would need to go to a Apple Store or authorized service provider.

Itunes wont open when iphone connected to mac, please help?!

i updated my iphone 4s and tried connecting it to my mac but itunes wont open at all, so i updated mac software as well as itunes, and itunes still won't open up when i connect my phone.
P.S. iv'e already tried taking the USB cord out and plugging it back in twice already... still wont open.

Launch the Console application in any of the following ways:

Hi, When open Mac Pro with i Pad connected, Aperture opens atomatically with images from i Pad camera. Checked systen prefs for Mac & Aperture + U tunes for iPad prefs, but cannot find way to stop auto open of Aperture. Help!!!

Look in the application Image Capture on your Mac. In the preferences for Image Capture there will be a setting to choose which, if any, application to open when connecting a camera to your Mac. Change that setting to open nothing.
If you want Aperture to open when you connect your camera to the Mac and it continues to open when you connect your image then just quit Aperture after it opens and then start iTunes.
Any time there are photos in your iPad's Camera Roll. Your Mac will assume you'll want to upload those photos to your Mac.

File count alternating in folder when OS9 connects to Mac OS X server

I have a few Macs running Mac Os 9.2.2 and they connect to a Mac Pro running OS X Server 10.4.7. The problem I am having is that if there are more that say 75 files in a folder that I open to view, the files in that folder keeps jumping and the file count keeps alternating. In other words, selecting a files from the folder is nearly impossible as the files keep moving in the folder. If I connect from a mac running OS X to the said Server running 10.4.7, I don't get this problem. Nor do i get the problem if I Connect the macs running OS 9 to a server running Appleshare Ip Server software I don't get the problem. Anyone knows how I can get around this problem?

Just out of interest, what happens if you view the folder by List View ?
I suspect with OS9 that you're trying to read the Desktop file to see how the folder icons are laid out, but there isn't one. So maybe you're trying to create one automatically. But OSX server on Intel goes "oh no you don't, create a resource fork ? what's that ?" or OSX server doesn't know how to create a desktop file for OS9 computers. Or you don't have file permissions to create a Desktop file on the OSX Server (then OS9 usually creates a temporary file on the OS9 System Folder Preferences folder).
Your OSX Server license will come with support to help you answer this. I suspect a quick delve into the manual will show that it may just not be possible. My company is still on OSX 10.3.9 Server, but I've spent between 2 and 3 years getting everything off OS9 so I can't help you by trying things myself (the only OS9 bootable computer we have left is the one Server runs on).

Here is a situation that the tech support at my ISP seems to be clueless to help me with. I have an iMac G5 (OX 10.4.4) and my son has an eMac (OS X 10.4.3) He lives two miles away. I am connected to the net via a cable modem he has a DSL modem that is followed by an Ethernet Broadband Router to split his connection off to a PS2. I want to send some rather large files to him. His IP address is a 192.... which I have been told is the router and hence may act as a firewall. I tried having him connect the eMac directly to the modem and we got the same IP address. So the bottom line is we have tried turning things like file sharing on and off, trying to understand the network panel in system preferences, and somewhere we are doing nothing right because I cannot find anything that allows me to connect to him. The reality is I am not too technically oriented and he is 13, so is anyone able to explain this so that even a college grad can understand what to do? Thanx.

The router is a Dynex-E401. I just found the companies web site and they have instructions for forwarding the router which when I can have my son available I will have him do. Unfortunately, I am not able to go into that house since the crazy woman who lives there does not like me, however I think he will be able to follow any instructions I give him. In the meantime I understand the concept regarding file sharing, etc. So I will try their instructions and if I have problems, I will repost, Thanx.

When i connect my mac book pro to an external display using a VGA cable and adaptor, the external display splits into several different columns of the same screen overlapping one another. Does anybody have any ideas as to why this happens?

I have used different VGA to mini port adaptors, different VGA cables and connected them to different external monitors and prjectors but the same thing happens. I am starting to think there may be a problem with the macbook itself however, when i have used a HDMI lead and adaptor to external monitors the external display is fine.

Connect two macs over Internet

Ok, here is basically what I want to do.
Me and my friend both have PowerMacs and we both have wireless networks. That aside...we live not so far from each other.
What we want to do is to be able to connect to each others' computer and view/download any files on a specific folder.
Is this possible? Just between us 2...

You can also connect to each other's computers by connecting via FTP.

That way you'll be able to connect to your friends MAC by entering in his IP address in the GO>Connect to Server field and after authentication, you'll be able to access any/all files on his machine if configured as such.

When I connect displays via Thunderbolt, Internet breaks

I just got a Macbook Pro, it's running 10.8.4 It has 2 thunderbolt ports.
I bought two thunderbolt-to-DVI adapters to connect to 2 displays.
That all works great.
Problem is, with either of these displays connected to either thunderbolt port, I cannot access the internet!
If I unplug the displays, the internet works again.
It's not a problem with Wi-fi connection either - I remain connected to Wi-fi and I can use devices on my LAN just fine. I can even ping servers on the net from Terminal. But not one browser works. I tried Chrome, Firefox and Safari.
Any ideas how this is even possible or better yet, how to fix it?

With an Apple Support Sr. tech directing me over the phone, I actually:
• Deactivated the Thunderbolt-Ethernet config option in System Prefs - Network
• Reset the SMC & Restarted
• Backed up and deleted the SystemPreferences & Restarted
The problem persists and is reproduceable on 2 different MacbookPros one Lion, one Mountain Lion.
I have an Apple Supprt case number now, and a Sr. Sr. Technical Engineer helping now and will update this ticket with solution(s) if any.

Modem router link down in a small network when I connect any mac with OSX

With OS9 I have no problems at all the other machines are PCs, I try whith 2 diferent laptops, and 2 macmini and the internet connection throught a modem router link down inmediatly... and the modem try to connect many times automaticly, and connect for few minutes... after that being link down again... any ideas what the problem is? I think a protocol interference may cause this, but I don't know what really... thanks

Start by changing the wireless names to SMB compatible names.. ie short, no spaces and pure alphanumeric. Make sure the HP is in range of the router.
You can use the WPS setup via the utility main menu. There is no WPS button as such but apple has had to provide some way to handle this directly.
