When I open Internet Explorer 10 I can't get the favorites bar to show my favorites. I've gone to "view" > toolbars and clicked on favorites bar but it won't show my favorites in the favorite bar. This problem only started
a couple of days ago. Before then the favorites bar always showed with my favorite.

Do you mean the favorites items don't show up in favorites bar or even the favorites bar
doesn't shown up in IE?
I suggest you check whether the favorites link existing in the favorites bar folder, you can click the
in the up right corner, then expand folder "Favirites Bar", or manually check folder C:\Uses\username\Favorites\Favorites Bar
Or create new favorite item, then check if it works.
You can also try to launch IE in no add-on mode, then check the issue again, if problem disappears in this mode, then we can narrow down to find the culprit, launch IE by running
%ProgramFiles%\Internet Explorer\iexplore.exe -extoff

When I open a new tab I almost always I know the URL of where I want to go. Therefore I do not want my cursor to be placed in the box of a search engine upon opening the new tab. I want it to be on the address line.

A new tab opens by default as a blank tab (about:blank).
If that isn't the case then an extension has changed that behavior.

HT3275 I'm trying to backup my stuff onto my timecapsule but I get this, "Open Timemachine preferences to select backup disk." When I open up my preferences I can't find the slide bar to turn it on anywhere. Any suggestions?

My system preferences no longer works. I click on it and nothing happens. This means I can't change my background picture or do anything else related to it. So I'v been planning on backing up all my info and then downloading again all of my programs. I don't even know if that will work, but the main problem is I can't get my timemachine preferences to open to allow me to turn on the side bar to select my timecapsule as the disk to backup everything. Use a different utility to do the backup.. you don't need to use TM exclusively.. and you should backup just the personal files.. as whatever is broken in the install you don't want back again anyway. Superduper is free to download and use to do a full backup. But verify the disk first as it sounds like something is bad.

I was on demonoid and I accidentally installed some software that I didnt want to. Once this happened I noticed that on both of my browsers firefox and chrome that this search site named trovi.com has taken over as my homepage and over my new tab. I fixed the problem on chrome and I fixed the home page problem on Firefox, what I cant figure out is how to get rid of this bane when I open a new tab. All I have all of my useful sites pinned there and it is very annoying.
I have been searching through all the options and cannot find a way to change this back to default without restoring the entire browser back to default. Which I really dont want to do. Thanks in advance

This means that the whole content of the message is replaced by the content of the preceding message. I cannot see the message and have to ask the sender to send it again. Why is this, is my mail system overloaded or what?

This usually indicates folder corruption.
Right click the problem folder and select Properties. Then Repair Folder.
Be prepared to lose messages if the corruption is too bad. It might be a good idea to move any messages that you want to keep to a new folder. Make folders under Local Folders to sort your keeper emails into. It is a good idea not to keep lots of mail in the Inbox anyway as you will see when you read the attached article.

MPEG means a whole bunch of different formats. What are the exact specs of your media? MPEG files often have multiplexed audio. You will probaby have to convert this.

How can I get the direction handles to show up for the Position attribute?
I have CS3 and I did the formentioned test and was able to make the handles work for the scale attribute but they don't seem to show when editing the position values.
*I am in the graph editor looking at the "value graph"
*I select the keys and convert the keys to auto bezier (I also tried the ease in and out buttons)
*It changed the graph the way you might think (no longer linear) however the handles are not showing to edit further.
*I also tried using the "convert vertex tool" (part of the pen tool) and still no luck getting those handles.
*the handles only show up in the speed graph but that does me no good.

I don't have CS3 installed on any of my machines any more but your value graphs for position should look something like this:
There are no handles for position in the Graph editor. You adjust the position curve by editing the motion path in the composition window. Press the G key to bring up the pen tool, then use the modifier keys Crtl/Cmnd and Alt/Option to temporarily switch between select and convert vertex to adjust the paths. Changes will be reflected in the value graphs. You will get editable handles with scale and rotation because these are not spatial properties. Spatial properties, position, Anchor Point, all XY & Z coordinates are edited in the comp window or in the layer window after revealing the properties. IOW, you edit anchor point position paths by opening up the layer window and choosing Anchor Point from the display options.

Can not get the Cisco TSP to show UP - 2003 64bit

Can not get the Cisco TSP to show up on the list of Providers in Phone and Modem Options- Advance tab. Installed ver. 4.1, it seems to install correctly, with no errors but when I restart the server, there is no Cisco TSP001.tsp in the providers list. It works perfectly on my Windows 2003 servers, but will not work on this new Windows 2003 64 bit server. Any tricks to getting this to load?

There is no 64-bit TSP yet. Whilst 32-bit apps will work OK for the most part on 64-bit via the WoW function, drivers tend to not be so flexible, and that's what TSP is...
You'll have to bother your Cisco accounts folks to get this prioritised, it is upsetting a lot of people...

I loaded the Bing Bar & smartprint sw. It appeared to work this time BUT I can't get the bing bar!

I'm using a Presario Desktop & an HP Lazerjet M1522nf all-in-one printer. I had tried to download Smartprint a couple of weeks ago.
I had trouble with it & when I checked found out that the current smartprint package would not work with ie9 & windows 7.
I see that the smartprint was corrected to work on windows 7 & ie9.
So I downloaded the new Bing Bar and it seemed to load ok. Then I downloaded the new smartprint software and it seemed to load correctly.
I made Bing the default! I can NOT seem to get the Bing Bar to show up on my screen.
What am I doing wrong and can I get some help with this problem.

- Reboot the computer, try another USB port and try anohter cable.
- Look at the dock connector on the iPod. Look for abnormalities like bent or corroded contacts, cracked or broken plastic.
- Try placing the iPod in DFU mode and then restore.

at the moment, on my site, if the page is longer than the screen, it goes behind the footer,
but the foot bar moves up the page as yo scroll down to see the rest of the content.
any way of getting the footer to stay put, while body/page contant scrolls ?

You can use some css to do it...

The css above will lock your footer to the bottome of the browser window. As long as your footer <div> is last in your html, it will float over the top of everything on your page when the page is scrolled. If it's not last in the html, you'll need to add a z-index to get it on top of your other content in the stack.

I've read two solutions to my problem and neither worked. I can't get the repeat option to show in some events, though it does appear in others.

I can't say I've seen that behavior before. I' be curious to see a screen shot of it in the edit mode where you edit the fields.
Beyond that I'll offer generic troubleshooting steps:
Go to Apple Menu > System Preferences > Language & Text > Formats > Region. Region should be set to the country of your choice. Do not have it set to "Custom" as this can have unexpected results in the iCal window.
If that doesn't resolve the issue:
1. First make an iCal backup: Click on each calendar on the left hand side of iCal one at a time highlighting it's name and then going to File Export > Export and saving the resulting calendar file to a logical location for safekeeping.
2. Go to iCal > Quit iCal
3. Remove the following to the trash and restart your computer:
Home > Library > Caches > com.apple.ical
Home > Library > Calendars > Calendar Cache, Cache, Cache 1, 2, 3, etc. (Do not remove Sync Cache or Theme Cache if present)
--- NOTE: To get to "Home > Library" in Lion: Click anywhere on the desktop and then click on the "Go" menu at the top of the computer screen while holding down the "option" key on the keyboard. You will see "Library" in the menu.
4. Launch iCal and test.
If the issue persists:
1. Go to iCal > Quit iCal
2. Remove the following to the trash and restart your computer:
Home > Library > Caches > com.apple.ical
Home > Library > Calendars > Calendar Cache, Cache, Cache 1, 2, 3, etc. (Do not remove Sync Cache or Theme Cache if present)
Home > Library > Preferences > com.apple.ical (There may be more than one of these. Remove them all.)
--- NOTE: Removing these files may remove any shared (CalDAV) calendars you may have access to. You will have to re-add those calendars to iCal > Preferences > Accounts.
3. Launch iCal and test.
