When i plug into i tunes with my i phone 4 it changes the e mail account over to my daughters i pod touch account and i can't figure out how to separate the 2. when i click on store, it show up as my account but if i try to update an app or purchase anything it shows on the phone as her email and i need her password to do what i what. it also puts her apps on my phone. any advice would be appreciated. thanks

If you are being prompted for her Apple ID password when updating apps it means that there are one or more apps on your phone that were purchased with her ID. (Apps and their updates are permanently tied to the ID used to purchase them regardless of the settings on your phone.) It's possible that you are inadvertently syncing her apps to your phone. . The only way to stop this is to delete these apps from your phone. You may want to check which apps are checked on the Apps tab of your iTunes sync settings before syncing next time to be sure her apps aren't selected.
To change the Apple ID used for purchasing, go to Settings>Store>Apple ID, tap the ID shown, sign out, sign back in using the ID you want to use.

Make sure you are checking the email address you used to set up your iCloud account. Check the spam/junk folder as well as the inbox. If it isn't there, go to https://appleid.apple.com, click Manage your Apple ID, sign in, click on Name, ID and Email addresses on the left, then to the right click Resend under your Primary Email Address to resend the verification email.

While you're in itunes, with the leftside window open, click on Apps. Then, look across the top middle of your itunes screen. You will see several choices: All, Iphone/iPad Touch, Ipad, Ipod Games, List, and Updates.
Clicking on each of these gives you a different view.
When you select ALL you will see all of your apps. When you select Updates you sill see only the apps that need to be updated. When you are in Updates you will see the Update button in the lower right corner.

Did you enable Siri in settings?
Settings > General > Siri > ON
If Siri is off, all you get when pressing the home button for 1 second is the old Voice Control.

It's possible that you've tried the password too many times and you're locked out.
Restore, if iTunes will let you. Everything except the password will be restored. Connect via cable to the computer that you use for sync. Be forewarned that it takes a long time. From iTunes, select the iPad/iPod and then select the Summary tab. Follow directions for Restore and be sure to say "yes" to the backup. You will be warned that all data (apps, music, movies, etc.) will be erased but, as the Restore finishes, you will be asked if you wish the contents of the backup to be copied to the iPad/iPod. Again, say "yes."
At the end of the basic Restore, you will be asked if you wish to sync the iPad/iPod. As before, say "yes." Note that that sync selection will disappear and the Restore will end if you do not respond within a reasonable time. If that happens, only the apps that are part of the IOS will appear on your device. Corrective action is simple - choose manual "Sync" from the bottom right of iTunes.
If you're unable to do the Restore, go into Recovery Mode per the instructions here.

You have to "activate" it with a computer having iTunes loaded. (Or have the apple store activate it for you)
You would connect the iPad to the computer's USB port with the supplied cable.
The itunes will walk you through the process with messages.
Then, you can explore and add music and apps with itunes or download them from the itunes store.
One way to get good training is to find someone with an iPhone or ipod touch and let them give you a few minutes of training.
Or take it to an apple store and ask for a quick demo.
You will catch on quick, fast and in a hurry.

Are you referring to mirroring or you just unable to set up homesharing.
