You check your Project Settings, and you check your audio files sample frequency in the Audio Bin. To match 'm, if that's necessary, you can either change the Project Setting to match the audio files, or convert the audio files to match the Project Setting.
Note that you cannot mix different sample frequencies (44.1 kHz, 48 kHz, 96 kHz etc), but you can mix different bit depths (mainly 16 and 24)

Are you using versions of the software that are compatible with the version of OS X you have installed? Very often such lockups are caused by application incompatibility.
The problem may also come from trying to use both sets of applications at the same time while not having enough RAM installed. Adding more RAM may fix the problem.
The problem can arise from corrupted support files such as preference files or Application Support files or corrupted cache files.
The image files you are using may also be corrupt thus causing the problem.

For disk repairs use Disk Utility. OS X performs certain maintenance functions that are scheduled to occur on a daily, weekly, or monthly period. The maintenance scripts run in the early AM only if the computer is turned on 24/7 (no sleep.) If this isn't the case, then an excellent solution is to download and install a shareware utility such as Macaroni, JAW PseudoAnacron, or Anacron that will automate the maintenance activity regardless of whether the computer is turned off or asleep. Dependence upon third-party utilities to run the periodic maintenance scripts had been significantly reduced in Tiger and Leopard. These utilities have limited or no functionality with Snow Leopard or Lion and should not be installed.
OS X automatically defragments files less than 20 MBs in size, so unless you have a disk full of very large files there's little need for defragmenting the hard drive. As for virus protection there are few if any such animals affecting OS X. You can protect the computer easily using the freeware Open Source virus protection software ClamXAV. Personally I would avoid most commercial anti-virus software because of their potential for causing problems.
I would also recommend downloading the shareware utility TinkerTool System that you can use for periodic maintenance such as removing old log files and archives, clearing caches, etc. Other utilities are also available such as Onyx, Lion Cache Cleaner, CockTail, for example.
For emergency repairs install the freeware utility Applejack. If you cannot start up in OS X, you may be able to start in single-user mode from which you can run Applejack to do a whole set of repair and maintenance routines from the commandline. Note that AppleJack 1.5 is required for Leopard. AppleJack 1.6 is compatible with Snow Leopard. There is no confirmation that this version also works with Lion.
When you install any new system software or updates be sure to repair the hard drive and permissions beforehand. I also recommend booting into safe mode before doing system software updates.
Get an external Firewire drive at least equal in size to the internal hard drive and make (and maintain) a bootable clone/backup. You can make a bootable clone using the Restore option of Disk Utility. You can also make and maintain clones with good backup software. My personal recommendations are (order is not significant):

When I add an album to itunes and subsequently to my ipod, everything is arranged by track number of the album. Sometimes when I sync in order to add new material to my ipod, itunes for some reason automatically rearranges some of my pre-existing material by songs with the greatest number of plays to least (though sometimes it seems to be completely random). When I check itunes on my computer, everything still appears to be in order but the way it appears on the device often is in the previously mentioned disorder. Why does it do this? Is there any setting that I can adjust to make it stop because the only way I've found so far is to delete the rearranged material and re-import the cd and then re-sync. It might sound picky, but I prefer that my music be in order by track number as the artists themselves intended for various reasons the foremost being that I often listen to whole albums from start to finish and this glitch makes such problematic. I have found some settings in preferences that focus on how material is arranged but this seemed to be focused on the actual folders where the music is located on my hard drive and not the way it appears on the ipod. You should not have to uninstall Premiere Elements 12/12.1 in order to install and run Premiere Elements 13 on the same computer unless your computer is overloaded and the computer resources are compromised. Just use one program at a time.
Can you still use 12/12.1 on this same computer that will not let you use 13?
What specific Window operating system are you using?
Let us go through the usual drill...
1. Does the problem exist with and without the antivirus and firewall(s) disabled?
2. Are you using a pen and tablet device instead of a mouse?
3. Did you install the program with antivirus and firewall(s) disabled?
4. Disable the SLCache Folder found in Windows 7, 8, or 8.1 64 bit

and in the Adobe Folder should be the SL Cache Folder that you delete or disable by renaming the Folder
from SLCache to SLCacheOLD.
5. Are you running the program as Administrator and is the latest version of QuickTime installed on the same

What application is set to open PDF files? If you CNTRL click on the file and open with Preview does the problem occur?
If not change the default application to open PDF files to Preview.
You can do this by highlighting the file and either use CMD i or Get Info , this will open a window with the info on the file with an option to change the application that opens the file.

Put simply, the minimum system requirements for iTunes have changed. You need a Mac running at least OS X 10.6.8.
It's best you look online to see if your model of Mac can be upgraded to at least 10.6.8 "Snow Leopard". It should still be possible to order a copy of Snow Leopard if so.

Here's what's going on in the catalog you sent me, "Joel & Caitlin's Wedding". There is the keyword "gwenn", which is explicitly assigned to 7 pics. But keyword "schwartz" has a number of synonyms, including "gwenn", and it is assigned to 25 pics. There is no overlap between the two sets of pics.
I discovered these two occurrences by doing Metadata > Export Keywords, opening the exported file in an editor, and then searching for "gwenn". I found two occurrences of "gwenn":
gwenn
schwartz
{gwenn}
From this, you can see that the keyword "schwartz" has 9 synonyms, of which "gwenn" is one.
The filter criterion "Keywords Contain gwenn" will match the 7 pics that are explicitly assigned the keyword "gwenn", and it will also match the 25 pics assigned the keyword "schwartz", because that keyword has a synonym "gwenn".
This illustrates the behavior I mentioned above: The criterion "Keywords contains x" will match against any of a pic's assigned keywords, any of those keywords' ancestor keywords, and any of the synonyms of the assigned keywords and their ancestors.
So LR is operating correctly here, if not in a way that's easy to understand.
It appears that you are using the synonyms of "schwartz" to represent individual members of the Schwartz family. A better way of representing family relationships is to have a parent keyword "Schwartz", with subkeywords for each family member, e.g. "Gwenn Schwartz", "Joe Schwartz", "Jane Schwartz", etc. Repeating the family name in the subkeywords has a couple of advantages. LR usually only displays the "leaf" name of a keyword, so instead of showing you just "Joe", it will show you "Joe Schwartz", helpful when there are a number of different people whose first name is "Joe". Also, if you ever export your pics to other software, it may not understand the LR hierarchy and won't show the parent keywords, so again it's more informative to see a keyword named "Joe Schwartz" rather than "Joe".

Pay no attention to iinami, the amount of replies to people saying their handsets must have been jailbroken everytime iTunes throws out an error is tremendous. (Clearly you don't need to have any real knowledge to get to level 3 on these forums, let's hope apple's geniuses know a lot more than some of their customers.)

I agree. Mine is 64gb, and the most warmth I notice seems to be where I was holding it.
The result of excess heat would be that its battery would run down faster than it should. With a full charge, it should run at least eight hours, maybe ten. Someone mentioned that their iPad charge went down ten percent per hour.
The iPad normally stays on all the time, and is put to sleep by pressing the Sleep button. In the sleep mode, it draws extremely low current, so the battery does not run down for many days. With yours in the sleep mode, does it still get hot?
Regardless, I think the display problem is reason enough to take it to the Apple Store Genius. If there is no Apple Store near you, look for an Apple Authorized Repair Center. There may be one in your city. In the US, <United States>. Outside the US, <http://support.apple.com/kb/ht1434>.
