When I recharge the battery, my iShuffle looses the spot it stopped last

the battery has still some life, but I want to re-charge it
why does it loose the spot where it stopped last?
this is a problem for me 'cause I download books; when you read books you want to restart where you stopped.
What can it be done about it?

Select the audiobook in iTunes.
Right click - get info. Select the Options tab and tick *Remember playback position*.

Thanks, it seems that it doesn't like to play games, which is a bit of a bummer as i bought this specifically because it was capable of doing that. To be fair, it is capable... I just need to get used to a sound like sitting by a washing machine on spin cycle... Wish they would make people aware of this in the Apple Store, its very misleading and not at all desireable.

PSE 9 crashes when I use the Spot Healing Brush tool

When I use the Spot Healing Brush tool PSE9 crashs completly. Is it a bug? In the older version 8 I had no problem.
I use WIN XP SP2, Intel Pentium 4, 3 Ghz, GPU: NVIDIA Geforce FX 5700, DirectX 9.0c 4.09.00.0904.
I tried it also on another PC with WIN7 and it caused the same problem.

I know this post doesn't really help you guys, but I'm also using PSE9 on a Win7 Intel Quad Core Dell computer and the spot healing brush works fine. I only offer this post to indicate that it apparently is not a universal bug in PSE9. Perhaps an Adobe expert can jump in here and help. I can only offer that in Preferences I do have the RAM dialed up to 80%, but I don't think this is related to your problem.

I was downloading music to my iTunes account and playing music from my I tunes library when all of the sudden it stopped playing and the control panel won't let me restart the music.....why

The I tunes equalizer / player box with timer shows the song ready to play but the controls won't restart the song.......why not, and how to I get it to restart playing my library?

- You need to restore the iPod to factory defaults/new iPod and start anew. Is the restore button visable in iTunes? If it is they restore the iPod.
- If it is not visible try resetting the iPod:
Reset iPod touch: Press and hold the On/Off Sleep/Wake button and the Home
button at the same time for at least ten seconds, until the Apple logo appears.
- If the restore button is still not visable, try placing the iPod in recovry mode. See:

When I enter the website, Firefox stops responding and I have to end the process from the Task Manager. How do I solve this problem?

I am running Firefox 4.0 beta 7 on Windows XP Tablet Edition OS. When I enter this site using Firefox, the browser stops responding and I have to end the process using Task Manager. However, when I open it with other browsers such as IE8, I am able to view the site as per normal. This only happened when I updated my browser to Beta 7 and I did not have such problems in the previous betas.

Create a new profile as a test to check if your current profile is causing the problems.

Can you play those songs in iTunes on your computer?
Make sure they are all part of your iTunes library before you sync and that they were bought with the same AppleID you use on your phone.

I have copied Iphoto library from other MAC using the migration assistant, when starting Iphoto the rebuild however stops half way (no progress after 24 hours)

Using the migration assistant I copied my users from an old MAC (2007) to a brand new on. After a few attempts and software updates this worked. For Itunes and mail for example all data was available. On starting my Iphoto however there was a problem. When starting there is the message that the library, to be able to work with the new Iphoto Version, needs to be updated. In the process of doing this the programm seems to get stuck after 40 % of progress and even after 24 hours does not continue. I have tried to use the I-Photo First aid, but before starting any of the steps it wants to re-allign the old library to the new Iphoto version ans subsequently get's stuck on the same spot again !! Is there any advice you could give ?

I have tha same problem.
iPhoto asks for updating, then it shows a bar about the conversion in progress, then it shows that it is working on faces library and then the circle spot stop to turn on faces library and starts in the middles of iPhoto window.
After three days nothing changed!
Any help?

When I use the spotting tool on a very dirty image it bogs down. Can I collapse the work?

What is the best way to save or collapse the work I have done on an image so I can get back to working at a good speed? I am guessing if I saved the image as a JPEG and reimported it that would add noise. There is probably a simple way to solve this. Any answers?

There is still a known bug where LR (including 3.3RC) bogs down when large number of spots are utilized. Every system is different and most systems appear to not have this problem. Personally, on my system, cleaning up a BW scan will bog down when I add around 50 spots and become unbearable by 100 - sometimes even hanging for 30 seconds or more.
Some improvement was provided with the 3.3RC in that the hanging is less likely; however, the slowdown is still experienced and adding more spots once it gets to this phase is not an option.
If 3.3RC doesn't solve your problem, and space is not an issue, you might consider exporting (and automatically re-importing) in TIFF format. You will probably lose the least amount of detail and introduce the least amount of noise that way as opposed to a JPEG file. You can then continue working on the re-imported TIFF file as your original and you should be fine for a few more spots. I would probably delete the file you exported from so you don't get confused about which file is your image file (just my personal preference not to have two files of the same image unless they are VCs).
Also, I find that exiting and re-starting LR every 5 or so images while in Develop module can help but that is huge pain.

Why does my iTunes stop playing when I close the lid on my laptop?

I am playing iTunes on my Vista laptop and my setting are 'do nothing' for both powered and battery use, but when I close the lid iTunes stops playing music. Does anyone know why and how I stop it? Please don't say "don't close the lid..." Thanks.

You have your answer... there is no way to stop iTunes from stopping playing music when the lid is closed.
You can try adjusting the power settings, but if that's not working...there is no way for iTunes to override it.

Lightroom 5.2 freezes when using the spot edit tool with Wacom Intuos 5

Hi,
   I've been using Photoshop 6.x with my Intuos 5 for almost a year and it's been great. I recently purchased Lightroom 5.2 only to discover that when I use the spot edit tool that it freezes when i use this tool as a brush. It starts off smooth, but after brushing across my area i want to clone/heal, Lightroom seems to freeze up, and the spot edit tool is unusable. I can lift my pen off the tablet and a few seconds later Lightroom comes back, but the tablet is basically unusable to me. The mouse works perfectly fine.
I've read other posts at the end of last year '12, that walks through some regedits and disabling some other tablet functions, but none of those work for me. Any suggestions would be appreciated.

I solved my own issue. I saw an article @ http://www.lightroomforums.net/showthread.php?19694-Spot-removal-tool-doesn-t-work-with-Wa com-Intuos-5-in-LR-5 that solved my issue.
Step 1:
Walcom Tablet Properties
Step 2:
Click on Customize and change the default line graph from this:
Step 3:
To this
Step 4:
Click OK.
After that, my spot edit tool stopped freezing in LR 5.2 while i was using my intuos 5 pen.
Prior to doing this, I also did the procedure listed here: http://forum.wacom.eu/viewtopic.php?f=10&t=8036
So it's possible that both need to be done in order for the freezing to stop. I hope this can help others.

After saving a PDF with a Spot UV layer, all of the highlights and detail under the spot color are flattened in Overprint Preview. What am I missing here?

I'm attempting to print some business cards with a Spot UV coating. I have a layer above the artwork with a spot color (set to green per the printer's request). Underneath is a logo, essentially a red circle with some highlights and depth. My issue is that, after exporting a PDF, all of the highlights and detail on the red circle disappear in Overprint Preview (it's there when I hide the Spot UV layer, but missing when I hide the Spot Color). What can I do to retain that information?

Only circles for the spot removal tool

Hey all!
I'm running into what seems a simple issue but there's no information about this on line, or at least not something that can help me.
When I choose the spot removal tool and click and drag in order to get a linear edit (not a circle) instead of the desired effect, the circle gets bigger. I can't seem to be able to just correct a non-circular smudge.
I've checked on line, even some tutorials, but everybody seems to just click and drag and it works.
Any ideas?

Which camera raw version are you using. Spot removal was only circles ("spots") in CS6 and earlier. CC added an enhanced spot removal tool that works like photoshop's healing brush tool.
