When I send emails with my iPad my name is spelled wrong.  How do I change this?  There must be a setting somewhere?

The emails I send from my iPad have my name misspelled.  How do I change the spelling?

Go to Settings > Mail, Contacts, Calendars > the mail account > under Account Information - Name and check the spelling

When I send emails using my iPad, some recipients are telling me that I am sending them blank emails.  I've had some of them forward the emails back to me so I can take a look and it seems that my message is actually there but the text is white.  Interestingly enough, I was a Windows user just a few months ago and I was on the receiving end of this same problem with someone who was sending emails from her iPhone.  I don't believe it is happening every time but if it happens even once it's a problem.  Any idea what's going on?

Oddly enough, having reported the problem it appears to have fixed itself. There may be some combination swipe gesture that triggers it is all I can think because I suddenly manged to zoom my display x3 by double tapping three fingers. Took me a while to sort this out but then when I got back home I could suddenly see all my emails again. Bizarre!

  • TS3899 Cannot send email with new iPad air.  Works fine with old iPad and iPhone.

Cannot send email with new iPad air.  Works fine with old iPad and iPhone.  I have deleted account and reinstalled.

Thanks.  I got the problem fixed.  Spent time with the Apple folks and was kicked up to a senior advisor.  It seems the problem was with my internet provider - Tmie Warner.  Remember I could use the old ipad and the iphone to send mail.  I checked all the specifics between the three units.  It seems that TW is changing over from the RR.com  to TWC.com.  Since the new ipad air was just set up, it fell under the new TWC mail specifics.

    Welcome to Apple Support Communities.
It's probably quite simple, and nothing to do with your Address Book group.
It is a matter of 'junk mail' or 'spam' filtering on the recipient end, I think.
    1. Apparently not everyone in your Address Book group (12 of 15 apparently?) has your current email address among their 'permitted email addresses', so, your original email message ends up in their 'junk mail' or 'spam filter' or whatever it is called by their email provider. Some businesses and schools also filter incoming messages for subject, language, content, or by sender's address (one company I dealt with prohibited all incoming email from Hotmail, for example), so it could be filtered at that level. In that case, the recipient might have to specifically ask the IT department to add your email address to a 'permitted' list.
    2. When someone else in the group hits 'reply all', THEIR email address IS among the 'permitted email addresses' for everyone else, and they are in effect 'forwarding' your message from their email address, so the filtering affecting your email address does not affect their re-sending of your message.

I added apps by syncing with a Mac.  It was under my husband's ACCT. When I tried to update apps on my iPad, it was his account.  How do I change this?  It only happens when I try to update apps

Apps will always be tied to the account from which they were purchased.
If they were purchased from your husbands account, then they will have to update using that account.

It is a Macbook Pro, right, not a MacPro?

  • My name is displayed incorrectly when I send email from my ipad.  How do I change it?

When I send an email from my iPad, my last name is spelled incorrectly.  Please advise.

Go to Settings -> Mail, Contacts & Calendars and select the E-Mail account you want to modify then go to Account and change whatever you need. Most likely "Name" and/or "Description"

  • Email not in sent box when I send email with attachments in Word.

Several times, I've noticed that when I send an email with attachments in Word = .doc format, I don't find the emails in my Sent Box…Why?

Then this sounds like a problem at the receiving end. More information is needed.

  • Can you send iMessages from one iPad to another? If so how can I do this? Thanks

I have just got a new iPad and I'm wondering if you can send iMessages from one iPad to another? We are currently trying this out and can only send iMessages from an iPad to an iPhone is this correct? Thanks

You can use the Messages app to send messages to any iOS device or to a Mac running Mountain Lion. So yes you can send a message to another iPad.
Both iPads have to have Messages set up and you need to contact the other iPad using an email addresses as the "you can be reached at" email address.
Do you have it set up correctly on both iPads?

  • I have just converted from PC to iMac. Yay. But pls be nice to me; I am back to newb! Running Lion. Have connected a Time Capsule as both a backup and WAP. I want to be able to join the network with my iPad, iPhone, iPod to print. How can I do this?

Can I do this using the Time Capsule. I am not tech, so bear with me. Can I get the iPad to connect wirelessly to the TC, which connects wirelessly to the Canon MP495? Or, can I connect/network the iPad to the iMac to print?
Either way, or if there is any other solution, I would appreciate if someone would walk me through it, or point me to a plain-speaking resource.
    Thankyou.
Actually, one more: I would like to connect my HP laptop as well. I have heard this is not simple, but possible.

You can create a wifi network with your TC, and you can join this network with your iPad. However, your printer does not support the AirPrint protocol, so you will not be able to print from your iPad, unless you load additional software.
    These are the steps:
    1.  (You may have completed this step already) Set up your TC to create a wireless network. You can do this from AirPort Utility on your Mac or from the AirPort Utility App on your iPad (free download from the App Store).
    2. From your iPad, go to settings / wifi and join the network.
    3. Download the Canon iPhone App from the App store on your iPad
    4. You can now print photos from your iPad to your Canon printer.
If you want full functionality, (not just photos), there is software for your Mac that makes your printer available to your iPad through AirPrint (Printopia). The downside is, you have to purchase it, and you have to have your Mac running when you want to print from your iPad.
    Good luck!

  • MacBook Pro iMessage sending from my email account and not my phone number... how do i change this?

Hi i've had my phone and MacBook Pro connected for ages and recently my iMessage on my computer is now sending messages via my email address - how can i stop this? or rather change it back? i've just done the upgrade to Yosemite
    thank you
    B

No, "My Number" was not listed in my Phone menu, I had to manually type it it.  Is there a way for that number to automatically be listed in that "My Number" spot?  Would that maybe have something to do with my phone number not being listed as an option in the "Send and Receive" spot under messaging???

  • Whenever I send a single person text it shows as coming from my e-mail but when I send a group message it comes from my phone. How do I change it so it always comes from my phone number not e-mail.

Whenever I send a text to a person it shows as coming from from e-mail but when I send a group text it shows as coming from my phone? How can I change it so that all texts come from phone?

The fact that the problem only occurs when iphones are texting you leads me to think that iMessage may be the culprit. The fact that it is only iphones using SPRINT however is weird. Try turning imessage off on both yours and your sons phones to see if the problem persists. If it does, it may be a carrier problem.
