You can't. The only way to get songs in the Music app is to sync from a computer or to download from iTunes.

Are you the original owner of this phone? If so sign in with the Apple ID and password you used when you first set it up.
Or did you buy is phone used? Contact the person you bought it from and have him/her correct the problem or refund your money.
You have encountered activation Lock that prevents stolen or lost phones from being activated. As stated the only way around this problem is to have the original owner clear the phone for your use.

Error 1 means, as the link that Chris gave you says, that your phone is either jailbroken or damaged.
It can also mean that your antivirus is blocking the update, but this is rare. Try disabling your antivirus if your phone is not jailbroken. If that doesn't resolve the problem you need to get the phone fixed or replaced.
If the phone IS jailbroken you have just learned why you should not hack an iPhone. And you will have to go somewhere other than an Apple-hosted forum for help.

I am using latest version of iOS (5.0.1) and iPhone 4.
My question is stated in the title. I wish to sync iTunes according to my current iPhone settings (i.e. backup my current settings from my iPhone to iTunes), not reinstall apps which I have already deleted.
But when I "sync" my iphone with iTunes, apps which I deleted since the previous backup suddenly appeared in my iPhone.
Any advice is appreciated, thanks.

When you sync your phone check the Apps tab in your iTunes sync settings (not the Apps folder under Library on the left sidebar) and confirm that the apps you don't want on your phone are unchecked prior to syncing.

-Your device needs both the CR and LF. To accomplish this:
option 1: Concatenate the "end of line" string constant (this is a combination of CR and LF, located in the string pallete) to all your outgoing commands. Make sure in the "Visa configure serial port" the "Termination character enable" flag is false.
option 2: Concatenate only a CR to your command's strings. Make sure in the "Visa configure serial port" the "Termination character enable" flag is TRUE AND that the termination character is set to 10 (meaning LF) which I think is the default.

HT1689 what is the "other" on my iPhone in the content use bar along the bottom of the screen when I sync my iPhone with iTunes on my computer

When I sync my iphone and ipad to itunes on my mac, I have a yellow bar listed as "other" taking space on my phone. Is this something that can be cleaned up on the iphone to make the space it is using avail? I have deleted some photos, music and apps to keep open space, but cannot seem to clean out this "other" and it is taking more space as the phone gets older. I assume it is fragmented data????

My phone has 2.14 GB of this "Other" data and it is driving me insane!!! i've been trying everything to reduce this bar and nothing is helping. i'm right there with you... just with a hole lot more data being taken up.

You can try to start the AMDS by going to task manager (ctrl/alt/delete), Choose the services tab and right click on the AMDS and choose start service. Anything. It completes three steps only and when I see the backup in the summary info it reads from yesterday, not today. I also just bought a new mac and updated to IOS 6, so not sure if that has something to do with it.

This has nothing to do with the Find my iPhone app being installed on the phone, but you do have to have Find my iPhone activated in the iCloud settings on the phone.
