If there are problems with updating or with the permissions then easiest is to download the full version and trash the currently installed version to do a clean install of the new version.
Download a new copy of the Firefox program and save the disk image (dmg) file to the desktop
*Firefox 9.0.x: http://www.mozilla.org/en-US/firefox/all.html
*Trash the current Firefox application to do a clean (re-)install
*Install the new version that you have downloaded
Your profile data is stored elsewhere in the Firefox Profile Folder, so you won't lose your bookmarks and other personal data if you uninstall and (re)install Firefox.

Which I get. But clicking on that link you provided does not give you the option of choosing between 32 and 64 bit installers.
Yeah, that was certainly a 32-bit installer file being referred to in the other message, too. (The 64-bit installer file is called iTunes64Setup.exe.)
Just in case it's an issue with your normal browser not working properly with the system-detection equipment on the page (there's a javascript control that checks for operating system specifics, and is supposed to deliver the correct Mac or Windows installers), let's try a different web browser for the download. If you use Firefox instead of IE (or vice versa), do you get offered an iTunes64Setup.exe instead of an iTunesSetup.exe? -

I cannot use firefox at all at the moment. When I try to uninstall in the control panel, the same message pops up.

I attempted to down load the 5 and 6 version at separate times. Both times I got an error message that stated I did not have permission to install the program. I own the computer and am the sole user. I am working on a Macbook Air. I have never encountered this issue before when updating Firefox. I am presently using the 3.5.6 edition and some of my sites are not supporting that edition anymore. Can you tell me what this error message means? I also have not been receiving the update messages for the new editions of Firefox.

I get this message when I try to download purchased music, never seen it before, never had a problem before.
"you do not have enough access privelages for this operation"
This computer is authorized, auoto download is enabled and I can download on my ipad without a problem.

If you are getting this error message just when attempting to download previously purchased music (new purchases work fine), and it's only occuring on the computer (redownloads on the iPad work fine), it may be a permissions issue. When I try to download the latest version of iTunes from apple.com, I get the message "Content was blocked because it was not signed by a valid security certificate."When I open iTunes and try to download the latest version there, I get the message "iTunes has an invalid signature. The download has been removed." I have also gotten an Internet Script Error stating that an error has occured in Line 0, Char O and that "Access is denied to images.apple.com/global/scripts/lib/iepngfix.htc." Are you downloading iTunes form an Apple website or somewhere else? If the answer is somewhere else, try downloading it from Apple. Click on iTunes in the black menu bar above and go from there.

When i open itunes it gives me the option to download the new version 10.3. my computer will not support 10.3. i can't by pass the download to continue with my current version of itunes. i've trashed and reinstalled 8.2.1 twice. any solutions?
I am in the same boat. I tried repeatedly to contact iTunes support, but was told each time that I had contacted the wrong deaprtment and they could not help me. There must be a way to still be able to use the iTunes store without paying for a system update. If not, I hope they will reimburse me the money I have in my acount.

Ok I cant find a way to fix this so I basically cant use my Verizon Iphone 4 because it wont connect on an old version...OK. You may have to reinstall everything from scratch but follow following steps:
1. Go to Microsoft website to fix install and Unistall problems. Click "Run now" from Fix it to remove all iTunes & related installer files:

If it's an iPhone 4S or earlier, click here.
