When migrating SQLServer database to Oracle9i

After capturing the SQLServer database into the Oracle Migration Work Bench repository (omwb) I have migrated the SQLServer sourccode to the Oracle Model (also in the
omwb repository). But...
when migrating SQLServer sourcecode to Oracle9i database some of the triggers are not migrated into the Oracle Model: triggers like :
----------->
create trigger dbo.tr_nev_del_audittable
on event_spare_memofield
instead of delete
as
begin
<-----------
are not migrated.
Can someone tell me why?
I am only getting the message:
Error occured on line 9:
oracle.mtg.sqlserver2k.parser.ParseException: Parse error at line 9, column 10. Encountered: of

You can rewrite the trigger as a BEFORE (OR AFTER) DELETE trigger on the appropriae table event_spare_memofield/audittable ? Most likely it will be a row-level (FOR EACH ROW) type trigger.
The instead of type triggers is reserved primarily for views.

  • WHEN MIGRATING SQLSERVER REPOSITORY TO ORACLE MODEL USING OraMigWrkBnch

I have captured the the SQLServer database to the omwb repository and migrated it to the Oracle Model. Some of the views,
triggers and stored procedures are not migrated and the followind messages are provided.
Has somebody done this before and got the same messages?, does someone know how to solve this problem(s)?, is there a
    standard way?
    Please help, anyone.

  • Error when parsing SQLServer triggers tot Oracle Model

After capturing the SQLServer database into the Oracle Migration Work Bench repository (omwb) I have migrated the SQLServer sourccode to the Oracle Model (also in the

when migrating SQLServer sourcecode to Oracle9i database some of the triggers are not migrated into the Oracle Model: triggers like :

    on event_spare_memofield

    are not migrated.
    Can someone tell me why?
I am only getting the message:
    Error occured on line 9:
oracle.mtg.sqlserver2k.parser.ParseException: Parse error at line 9, column 10. Encountered: of

    Hi there,
I'm sure this is still a bug, bug you should change or comment out the offending lines and reparse the triggers. This way, you will get it into the oracle model and can start finsihing off the migration.

  • What is the impact on database transaction when migrating oracle9i to 11g?

What is the impact in JDBC classes when migration of oracle 9i to 11g is done?
Will there in problem with connection and transactions? Do we have to modify the classes or include new jars ?

    dull_duke_java wrote:
What is the impact in JDBC classes when migration of oracle 9i to 11g is done?I would say nothing unless someone did something horribly wrong in the first place. But if such did occur then it would be in the SQL.
Certainly one possibility would be if "select *" was used and there was a presumption of what order columns were returned in regards to that.
Will there in problem with connection and transactions? Meaning what exactly? If you attempt a migration also servicing new requests then any impact depends on how and what the migration does.
Do we have to modify the classes or include new jars ?If you want a new driver then you would need a new jar.

  • Oracle Migration Workbench : import sqlserver database into exiting schema

    Dear Oracle users,
I have to migrate several databases from MSSQL 2000 to Oracle 10g.
To perform this task I use the oracle migration workbench, which works great for that purpose.
My only problem is that the Oracle Migration workbench creates alsways a new
tablespace with the same name than the sqlserver-user I use to export the database.
I would like to import the converted database into an already existing schema of my Oracle database.
Does someone know how to do that ?
    Best regards,
    Daniel

Change the name of the SQL server user to the name of an oracle tablespace name. This should create the tables in the Oracle tblspce you want.

  • How to migrate database from oracle9i on solaris to windows Itanium?

    How step I can do?
I try to use export tool of oracle 9i export full database from solaris.

    How to solve this problem?
I want to migrate whole database, it'can be?

    Hi
I was able to find only two types of error in this.
    1)
IMP-00015: following statement failed because the object already exists:Use ignore=y along with import because the tablespace for which it failed already exist in the database. So with ignore=y it would ignore the objects which already exist and would go to next step.
    2)
IMP-00003: ORACLE error 1119 encounteredThis is because full export do include tablespace defination also. Since the tablespaces which it is trying to create does not exist in the system and the source database from where the exp dump was taken was Unix flavour so the file structure between them was different and as a result it was not able to create it.
Suggestion.: Manually create the tablespace at your desired location. And then run the imp again with ignore=y

  • Request time out when creating content database

    Hello,
my problem is, that i cannot create a SharePoint content database via the central administration.
    My Setup is the following:
    SharePoint Server 2013 Enterprise Farm
    1x Applikation Server/WFE (Windows Server 2012 SP 1)
1x Database Server MSSQL Server 2012 (Windows Server 2012 SP 1)
    1x TFS 2013 (Windows Server 2012 SP 1)
all of them are hosted in the same Hyper-V Environment. It is not the fasted Hyper-V Environment existing on planet earth.
The weirdest part of the problem is, i am able to create a content database via powershell.
I am running in some kind of time out issue related to the IIS and CA of that Applikation Server.
Here is the ULS Log from the failling content database creation via CA

The fact that i am able to create a content database through powershell sorts out permissions problems. I am certain of that because the w3wp.exe and the powershell.exe used for both creations were run under the same user.
The timeout always happens aroud 120 seconds after i started the creation. The creation via powershell takes about 3,5 minutes.
Here for the folks that ask me, why i haven't asked google or bing or some other search engine.
I tried the solutions suggested here
    http://www.sharepointpals.com/post/Error-while-Creating-Web-Application-through-Central-Administration , here
    http://anthonyspiteri.net/sharepoint-2010-web-ui-timeout-creating-web-application-quick-fix/ and here
    http://blogs.ibs.com/Duane.Odum/Lists/Posts/Post.aspx?ID=33
which i thought pointed me to the right solution.
But those post unfortunatly didnt worked out.
I also tried to alter the web.config files (i know that isn't recommended or supported, but it didn't change anything so those are back to normal as well)
    So here are my question:
Can you guys help me solve this issue?
Are there any other places where timeouts can be managed or defined?
P.S.: I am new to using this forum. so pls don't crucify me for doing a mistake.
P.S.S: My english is very poor also :D
    With best regards
    Simon

Be careful with settings like these because there may be a much deeper issue at hand. I have had an issue with a customer that manifests itself as a timeout on a site collection. It was very hard to track since it didn't happen frequently. We engaged Microsoft
Support to find out the root cause but all they could point at is a general network issue that pertains to authentication. After digging deeper, we found out that the network issue was caused by a saturated network connectivity to the domain controller that
impacts a site collection when the database is making an authentication call. Keep this solution as more of a quick fix but be sure to conduct a deeper investigation of the real root cause

  • SSMS crash when creating new database diagram

For several years I have been unable to create database diagrams from within SSMS.  I have tried every combination of VS2005, VS2008, VS2012 and VS2013 with every combination of SQL2005, SQL2008, SQL2012 and SQL2014.
I have installed, uninstalled, and repaired many dozens of times.  I am currently using VS2013 ultimate with SQL2014 express.
I have tried every related 'workaround' that I can find on the internet.  Still the problem persists.

  • How can I determine what sites are being referenced within Central Admin Upgrade and Migration Manage Databases Upgrade Status?

When I go to Central Admin > Upgrade and Migration  > Manage Databases Upgrade Status, I have 2 content databases which have the status:
Database is up to date, but some sites are not completely upgraded.
How can I determine which sites are not completely upgraded?

Manage Databases Upgrade Status will provide you all active and offline DB details, you can get same result
    using below PowerShell cmdlet.
Get-SPDatabase and Get-SPContentDatabase will provide all active database/Content DB in Farm which include Service application db, central admin DB.
    Get-SPDatabase | Format-Table Name, ID
Coming back to your question, if you find that there are some site are not completely upgraded then run below command and understand the cause if issue on specific DB.
    Test-SPContentDatabase WSS_ContentDB_Name
If you find any missing file issue in DB then resolve these issue to upgrade content database.
(verify all customizations referenced within the content database are also installed in the web application. This cmdlet can be issued
against a content database currently attached to the farm, or a content database that is not connected to the farm )
    Use the Upgrade-SPContentDatabase cmdlet
to resume a failed database upgrade or begin a build-to-build database upgrade against a SharePoint content database
    Upgrade-SPContentDatabase WSS_Content

  • Migrate a database into a different SID

    hi,
I need to migrate a 10g database into an 11gR2 on same Red Hat Linux platform (although different servers with different versions of Linux). The difference between the two databases however is the SID, the new one has a different SID which means that the datafiles will be named differently (as our datafile names include the SID) otherwise everything else is the same..
I propose to take the following steps:
    - install 11gR2 on the new server
    - create the 11gR2 database with new SID using DBCA
    - full export 10g database
    - full import dump file into 11gR2 database.
I however do not have experience of how this will work with respect to the full import where the datafiles are named differently. For example TABLESPACE TEST in the source database has datafile TEST_SOURCE.dbf but the same TABLESPACE TEST in the target database will have datafile TEST_TARGET.dbf
Will this work? Will all the data in the source database be correctly imported into the new database?
    thanks

For example TABLESPACE TEST in the source database has datafile TEST_SOURCE.dbf but the same TABLESPACE TEST in the target database will have datafile >TEST_TARGET.dbfAre you going to create tablespace manually on target or you want it should be created by datapump.
    - import work fine if tablespace name is same with different datafile however tablespace should be created manually on target before import.
    - if you want datapump will create tablespace for you during full import then try REMAP_DATAFILE clause.
also check How to consolidate data files using data pump when migrating 10g to 11g?

  • How can i Migrate a database from DB2 to SQL Server 2008r2.

    Hi Gurus,
Kindly help me letting me know the process for migrating the database from DB2 to SQL Server.
    1) Is there any way to migrate a database from DB2 to SqlServer. (My assumption is we can not migrate database, if wrong correct me gurus).
    2) Or we can only transfer data from that DB2 database to SQL Server (Using SSIS packages).
Please help me knowing the process to migrate the data from DB2 server to MSSQL server. Even am reading the documents available in the web.
    Thanks in advance.. :)

Microsoft provide a migration assistant for DB2 to SQL Server:
    http://www.microsoft.com/en-us/download/details.aspx?id=45296
SQL Server Migration Assistant (SSMA) is a free supported tool from Microsoft that simplifies database migration process from DB2 to SQL Server and Azure SQL DB. SSMA automates all aspects of migration including migration assessment analysis, schema and
SQL statement conversion and data migration.
    Hope that helps

  • ODBC Error when migrating from SQL Server 2008 to SQL Anywhere 12

    Hello community,
    i have the following requirement:
I need to migrate a Database with some Demo data into a SQL Anywhere 12 Database. The SQL Anywhere 12 Database is part of the SAP BusinessObjects Enterprise XI 3.1 SP7 installation and came with the same as OEM Product.
The Environment looks like the following:
    DB1 is a MS SQL Server 2008 R2 64 Bit running on Windows Server 2008 R2 64 Bit.
DB2 is the SAP BusinessObjects Enterprise XI 3.1 SP7 installation with the shipped SQL Anywhere 12 (12.0.1.3873) Database running on SLES 11.3 64 Bit
CL1 is my Windows 7 64 Bit Client where Sybase Central is installed in 64 Bit. On CL1 i have a 64 Bit System ODBC Connection connecting to DB1 successfully.
Basically i followed the following (pretty straight forward) tutorial:
Migrating a SQL Server Database to SQL Anywhere White Paper-Technical: Mobile Enterprise, Database Management iAnywhere …
When i want to test the connection from inside Sybase Central (During the migration process) i receive the following error:
From inside Sybase Central my connection looks as follows:
And from the ODBC Manager the connection looks as follows:
Personally i found is strange that the Sybase ODBC Driver Manager drops the error. I would expect that the MS SQL ODBC Driver Manager pops the error it its related to the ODBC DSN to DB1.
    Any ideas?
    Thanks and Regards
    -Seb.

    Hi Sebastian,
The data from the SQL Server database must be migrated to an existing SQL Anywhere database.  Could you please tell me where this SQL Anywhere database resides and how are you connecting to it?
The error message is saying that the connection to the SQL Anywhere remote database server is failing, as opposed to the connection to the SQL Server database.

  • Error while fetching variable value from sqlserver database in 11g

    Hi
We created a dynamic variable to fetch data from sqlserver database in 11g.But when we test it, it is erroring out as follows: "nqserror: 27024 the execute physical statement must specify a physical sql statement to execute".
Please help to overcome this issue.
    Thanks.

    Hello,
First make sure that you're able to retreive data from the repository (right click on a table and view data?)
To create a session variable follow these steps:
From the Administration Tool menu bar, choose Manage > Variables.
In the Variable Manager dialog box, from the menu bar, choose Action > New > Session > Variable.
In the Session Variable dialog box, type a variable name.
Names for all variables should be unique. The names of system session variables are reserved and cannot be used for other types of variables.
For session variables, you can select the following check boxes:
Enable any user to set the value
Check box that allows you to set the session variables after the initialization block has populated the value (at user login) by calling the ODBC store procedure NQSSetSessionValue(). For example, this allows non-Oracle BI Administrators to set this variable for sampling.
Use the Initialization Block drop-down list to select an initialization block that will be used to refresh the value on a continuing basis.
To add a Default initializer value, perform one of the following steps:
To use the Expression Builder, click the ellipsis button to the right of the Default initializer work space.
Type the value into the Default initializer text box.
    Click OK.
you can do the same for a repository variable except that you will have to specif a refresh interval.
Make sure the sql your are issuing is correct by running it first using a client.
    Regards
