When there is web service request, we need to write to text file

Hello, Im currently using a web service request (particularly the read request variable). What my application does is that when a user enters the url
http://127.0.0.1:8001/WebService/Process?1=1&2=0&3=1&4=0&5=0
LED 1 and 3 turns on, while the other LEDs are turned off. I would like also to keep text file logs on what is the current time now, and the status of the LEDs. I want only to write to the file everytime the user enters the query in the URL (I dont want to write the logs every second or so, just only when the user presses the go button in the browser)
I can now write to a text file the current datetime stamp, and already setup the web services. But I cant figure out how can I execute this write process everytime the user fires up a web request.
Basically, how can I write to a text file the status of the LEDs each time there is a URL request?
Attached is the project. Thanks

One reason you might not be getting any errors is that you aren't looking for errors. Connect up the error clusters and then display what you get.
Where are you getting the path that you are writing to?

    You can use package UTL_FILE to write out to a file. Your DBA has to make initialization changes to support this. They might already have it setup. Run this query:
    SELECT value
    FROM v$parameter
    WHERE name = 'utl_file_dir';
    To see whether it has been configured properly. The value is the directory where you can create and write files.

    PL/SQL supports web services (XML output) and web procedures (text and binary output).
    You need to clarify your requirements.

  • Help needed: Handling web service requests from a J2SE application

    I want to write an J2SE application that is able to receive and parse web service requests. I want the application to, when started, start listen for incoming requests on a specific port.
    So far, I have embedded Apache Tomcat and Apache Axis in my application so that they parse the incoming requests and pass them on to my application logic.
    This seems like a very cumbersome way of doing it. I have included an almost full J2EE server in my application just to be able to parse web service requests.
    Is there an easier way? What technologies could I use? Any help would be greatly appreciated.

    Thanks for the help!
    It seems awfully complex though. Couldn't one just
    listen to incoming requests on a socket and use some
    good tool to parse them?
    Of course you could. One of the projects in that list is a 1 class java file. It could listen for requests, then you could parse the posted SOAP messages using JAXP and pass the requests on to your application. This will require a good understanding of SOAP however, and it may end up taking more time than simply using the JWSDP with a slightly beefier server.
    Given that there is only a handful carefully
    specified requests that the application needs to be
    able to respond to it seems overkill to include a
    full servlet enabled server...

  • How to print SOAP request at client program when program calls web service.

    Hi friends,
    While calling a web service, I am getting following error: javax.xml.rpc.JAXRPCException: Failed to parse WSDL
    I believe it is due to an invalid parameter set for the request soap. I need to analysis this error. Can you help me to print SOAP request at client program when program calls web service.
    Is there any way to print SOAP request XML?
    Thanks.

    Is this question related to Oracle SOA suite? Which client are you using? Use SOAPUI to validate whether WSDL is correct.

  • Error by sending a Web Service request

    Hi,
    we generated a WSDL from an outbound-interface and build a web application with it. When we send a Web Service request to SAP-XI from our Web Dynpro client application, we get an error "CALL_CONSUMER_ERROR" (of category "XI_J2EE_MESSAGING_SYSTEM"). We find the following entry in the message-log of the adapter engine:
    Error: Return of synchronous errormessage to the calling application: com.sap.aii.af.ra.ms.api.RecoverableException: java.lang.RuntimeException: Error while silently connecting: org.w3c.www.protocol.http.HttpException: iaik.security.ssl.SSLException: Server certificate rejected by ChainVerifier.

    does anybody know, how to solve this problem?
    Greetings
    Hildegard

    Hi Stefan,
    correct certificates are established in the meantime and the error-message in the adapterlog has changed. The errorcode still remains "CALL_CONSUMER_ERROR" of category "XI_J2EE_MESSAGING_SYSTEM".
    Adapter-log:
    Error: Return of synchronous errormessage to the calling application: com.sap.aii.af.ra.ms.api.RecoverableException: java.lang.RuntimeException: Error while silently connecting: org.w3c.www.protocol.http.HttpException: java.net.ConnectException: Connection refused.
    Error: The Transmission of the message with https://hpsaps01.inveos.com:8001/sap/xi/engine?type=entry failed, because: com.sap.aii.af.ra.ms.api.RecoverableException: java.lang.RuntimeException: Error while silently connecting: org.w3c.www.protocol.http.HttpException: java.net.ConnectException: Connection refused
    Are there missing any more permissions or is this another error in the configuration?

  • Error when test a Web service

    Hi all,
    I am trying to create a web service for RFC Function module. I ceated the web service, now I want to test this Web service. I have the URL of WSDL file, but when I execute the URL, it doesn't display.
    Can you please suggest me what will be the reason for this error?
    Thanks
    Sanket sethi

    Please find below the steps to create and test web services.
    Please follow up these steps and you would not get any error in testing web services.
    Hope this would help you.
    1. Go to SICF and activate this webservice: u201C/sap/bc/srt/rfc/sap/QUERY_VIEW_DATAu201D
    2. Go to transaction WSCONFIG andenter service destination u201CQUERY_VIEW_DATAu201D and enter variant u201Cquery_view_datau201D and hit
    enter. Currently, there are no released services so create a new service.
    3. Choose Save to release this web service.
    4. Choose ICF Details -> External Aliases
    5. Choose u201CNewu201D to create a new external alias.
    6. Enter external alias u201C/sap/bw/xml/soap/queryviewu201D and enter description u201CSAP BI Web Service u2013 XML Result Setu201D
    7. Specify your security and user ID on the u201CLogon datau201D tab.
    8. Specify u201C/sap/bc/srt/rfc/sap/QUERY_VIEW_DATAu201D under the u201CTrg Elementu201D tab.
    9. Save your external alias.
    10. Go to transaction WSADMIN -> Goto -> Administration Settings. Ensure that the path to your J2EE is specified here and save this.
    11. Find your web service and choose the u201CWeb service homepageu201D
    12. Login to your ABAP system from the Web Service Navigator
    13. Choose Test -> GetQueryViewData to test this service.
    14. Enter and Infoprovider and Query and send the request to test this web service. Note: If the query has mandatory variables, those must be passed in the parameter. For the sake of this test, use a query without variables.
    15. Ensure the request and response are successful.
    16. If you have issues, make sure you activate your Web Service and Interface in SE80.
    17. Here is an example of how to pass parameters for filter values using WEB API commands. We are passingtheFILTER_IOBJNM=0D_CHANNEL and FILTER_VALUE=3.
    18. Here is an example of how to pass parameters for variable values using WEB API commands. In this case, we are using a selection option variable. We are passing the following parameters:
    VAR_NAME_1=DISTGOP
    VAR_OPERATOR_1=EQ
    VAR_VALUE_LOW_EXT_1=3
    VAR_VALUE_HIGH_EXT_1=5

  • Leading ? xml version="1.0"? tag when creating / invoking web services

    Hello friends. I'm wondering if anyone has any insight as to why I cannot create
    a fully formed XML document when developing a web service which includes the standard
    <? xml version="1.0" ?> leading tag.
    If I include the leading tag in my XML mapping for a jws method, I am unable to
    compile the service into an ear, getting the following error: "An unexpected
    exception occurred while attempting to process the classes and annotations for
    this Web Service." If I do not include the leading tag, I can compile into an
    EAR file and invoke the web service from a HTTP POST, but I cannot include the
    leading <?xml...> tag in my request. Considering that I'll be asking other vendors
    to submit to my web services and creation of xml documents using DOM or other
    methods automatically generates the <?xml ...>, I'm hoping I'm not going to have
    to tell them to parse out this piece of the files they want to send me. Can anyone
    help?
    Thanks so much!
    CM

    CM,
    I suppose you have set 'http-xml=true' for this to work. For http-xml
    protocol, there is no way to specify the leading <?xml> tag, and hence
    unfortunately the desired functionality cannot be achieved.
    In case, this is very important for you, could you please log a support
    case, and then we can file a bug and ask the Engineering to look into it.
    Thanks,

    Hi Anurag -
    Thanks for the response. My problem is that I would like to be able tosubmit
    straight XML (i.e., not SOAP) to a webservice from an application outsideof Weblogic.
    For example, the following code block fails on submission to BEA:
    * Example Simple Integration.
    import java.io.*;
    import java.net.*;
    public class testBEAPost {
    * Null constructor.
    public testBEAPost () {
    super();
    * This method handles creation of a PeopleSoft XML Envelope, wrapping of
    * user input into the envelope, submission of the message to theintegration
    broker
    * and display of the response message to the screen.
    * @created 3.12.2003
    * @param argv java.lang.String[] Standard user entry input
    public static void main(String[] argv) {
    try{
    URL url;
    URLConnection urlConn;
    DataOutputStream printout;
    DataInputStream input;
    // Create the internal XML document which will be to send to BEA.(hardcoded)
    >
    String internalXMLDoc = "<? xml version=\"1.0\"?><newlocationxmlns:xsi=\"http://www.w3.org/2001/XMLSchema-instance\"><setid>WMS</setid><l

    /exceptionemailaddress></newlocation>";
    >
    // Define the target URL.
    url = newURL("http://167.75.117.20:7001/WebServices/PeopleSoftWebServices/NewLocation
    Service.jws/createLocation");
    >
    // Open the Conection
    urlConn = url.openConnection();
    // Set necessary connection variables.
    urlConn.setDoInput (true);
    urlConn.setDoOutput (true);
    urlConn.setUseCaches (false);
    // Specify the content type.
    urlConn.setRequestProperty("Content-Type", "text/xml");
    // Send POST output.
    printout = new DataOutputStream (urlConn.getOutputStream ());
    printout.writeBytes (internalXMLDoc);
    printout.flush ();
    printout.close ();
    // Get response data.
    input = new DataInputStream (urlConn.getInputStream ());
    String str;
    while (null != ((str = input.readLine())))
    System.out.println (str);
    input.close ();
    } catch (Exception e)
    System.out.println(e);
    If I run this program, I get a java.io.IOException with the serverreturning a
    500 error code. However, if I strip out the leading <? xml version="1.0"?> tag
    and submit to the web service, it works fine. My program set I createdthis example
    for uses DOM to create the document, so I'm actually creating thedocument, getting
    the String value of it, then parsing out the leading tag beforesubmission. My
    problem is that soon I'll be dealing with third parties who may havetrouble generating
    SOAP requests (don't ask), so I'd like to be able to tell them to generatesimple
    XML documents to send to BEA if at all possible.
    Can you assist? Thanks so much.

  • Setting up the Soap Header when consuming a web service.

    Hi SDN,
    I am trying to consume a web service,where I need to pass the soap header for sending the request to the sever.
    I am using if_ws_protocol_ws_header->SET_REQUEST_HEADER to set the Username and Password to the soap header. After a lot of trouble shooting I came to conclusion that the Username and Password are not being updated in soap header.
    I want to know how to set the soap header? I have tested the web service in the SOAP UI testing tool and it works fine taking the credentials. The webservice is using HTTPS protocol.Do we have any separate config for https. Do I need to pass the nonce and date created in the soap header for sure ? And is there any thing to be configured by basis team?

  • Problem when defining a web service

    Hello,
    I have defined several BAPI that I am calling from an external application by exopsing those BAPI using the SOAP adaptor.
    All goes well for all of them except one.
    For the one having problems the Integrantion engine is routing that call to different webservice than the one I expect it to do it,
    these are some of the paramenters I use when defining the web service in the Integration Builder:
    Interface name: MI_BAPI_PPMSRVAPS_GETLIST
    Communitcation chanel: CC_SOAP_BAPI_PPMSRVAPS_GETLIST
    Address: http://sapxi:50000/xisoapadapter/messageservlet?channel=:BS_WEBSERVICE_GREYCON:CC_SOAP_BAPI_PPMSRVAPS_GETLIST
    but instead when I test the generated wsdl using soapUI: the integration engine returns this error:
    Canceled with Errors 02.06.2010 15:04:22 02.06.2010 15:04:23   [websericename]     [namespace]MI_BAPI_PDSSRVAPS_GETLIST
    My guess is that at some point I defined wrong the web service but I have no way to redefine it or revert how it was defined.
    I redefined the webservice with correct parameters, but there is no change in behaviour.
    I checked server address and port (it is the exact same of the other BAPIs that work)
    Where can I see all defined web services when they are defined via the Integration builder define web service option?
    How to delete a webservice published this way?
    Any advise?
    Any help is very much appreciated.

    Hello there.
    Error: 404 Not Found
    Description: The server has not found anything matching the Request-URI. No indication is given of whether the condition is temporary or permanent. The 410 (Gone) status code SHOULD be used if the server knows, through some internally configurable mechanism, that an old resource is permanently unavailable and has no forwarding address. This status code is commonly used when the server does not wish to reveal exactly why the request has been refused, or when no other response is applicable.
    Possible Tips:- for HTTP_RESP_STATUS_CODE_NOT_OK 404
    u2022 404 is an HTTP response code that indicates that the resource in question couldn't be found. Usually this is due to an incorrect URL, so it is better to cross check all URLs. Check pipeline URL in the SLD in the business system of the Integration Server For this go to SLD->Business System-><yourIntegrtaion Server>->Pipeline URL: It should be like this http://<host>:<port>/sap/xi/engine?type=entry Where host is the host name of the Integration Server and port is the HTTP(8xxx) port. To verify this in Integration Server you can do like this. Go to SXMB_ADM->Integration Engine Configuration->Choose Edit from Menu -> Change Global Configuration Data to switch to change mode. Then select System Landscape - Load Configuration. (This is not required always)
    u2022 Check that the port really is the ICM HTTP Port and not the J2EE port i.e SMICM then menu GOTO --> SERVICES and check the port number for HTTP. It should be HTTP port
    u2022 If the error is Page cannot be displayed, cannot find server in https configurations Check and correct the SSL configuration for the ABAP and the J2EE side of the system
    u2022 If the error is because of integration server when using Proxy communications then check these. i.e SXMB_ADM->Integration Engine Configuration->Corresponding Integration Server enrty should be dest://<Http Integration server-Destination> Where < Http Integration server -Destination > is the RFC destination (SM59) of type HTTP connection (type H) to the Integration Server. In this case, host name, port, and path prefix are saved in the RFC destination.
    Try some of the recommendations that most apply to your case.
    Hope it helps!

    <soap:address location="http://cjbrown-lap:8888/HelloWorld-HelloWorldServer-context-root/MyHelloWorldServiceSoapHttpPort"/>
    </port>
    </service>
    </definitions>
    When referencing this in ApEx it can see the methods getCount and sayHello, and it can also see all the input and output parameters. The problem comes when I test the web service.
    The request generated by ApEx is the following for the sayHello method:
    <?xml version='1.0' encoding='UTF-8'?><SOAP-ENV:Envelope
    xmlns:SOAP-ENV="http://schemas.xmlsoap.org/soap/envelope/"
    xmlns:xsi="http://www.w3.org/1999/XMLSchema-instance"
    xmlns:xsd="http://www.w3.org/1999/XMLSchema">
    <SOAP-ENV:Body><namesp1:sayHello xmlns:namesp1="http://helloworldserver/"><namesp1:name xsi:type="xsd:string"></namesp1:name></namesp1:sayHello></SOAP-ENV:Body></SOAP-ENV:Envelope>
    This returns the following message from the webservice:
    <?xml version="1.0" encoding="UTF-8"?>
    <env:Envelope xmlns:env="http://schemas.xmlsoap.org/soap/envelope/" xmlns:xsd="http://www.w3.org/2001/XMLSchema" xmlns:xsi="http://www.w3.org/2001/XMLSchema-instance" xmlns:ns0="http://helloworldserver/"><env:Body><env:Fault><faultcode>env:Client</faultcode><faultstring>Caught exception while handling request: unexpected element name: expected={http://helloworldserver/}sayHelloElement, actual={http://helloworldserver/}sayHello</faultstring></env:Fault></env:Body></env:Envelope>
    The correct request should in fact be:
    <?xml version='1.0' encoding='UTF-8'?><SOAP-ENV:Envelope
    xmlns:SOAP-ENV="http://schemas.xmlsoap.org/soap/envelope/"
    xmlns:xsi="http://www.w3.org/1999/XMLSchema-instance"
    xmlns:xsd="http://www.w3.org/1999/XMLSchema">
    <SOAP-ENV:Body><namesp1:sayHelloElement xmlns:namesp1="http://helloworldserver/"><namesp1:name xsi:type="xsd:string">Chris</namesp1:name></namesp1:sayHelloElement></SOAP-ENV:Body></SOAP-ENV:Envelope>
    This will return the expected message:
    <?xml version="1.0" encoding="UTF-8"?>
    <env:Envelope xmlns:env="http://schemas.xmlsoap.org/soap/envelope/" xmlns:xsd="http://www.w3.org/2001/XMLSchema" xmlns:xsi="http://www.w3.org/2001/XMLSchema-instance" xmlns:ns0="http://helloworldserver/"><env:Body><ns0:sayHelloResponseElement><ns0:result>Hello Chris</ns0:result></ns0:sayHelloResponseElement></env:Body></env:Envelope>
    What ApEx seems to be doing is using the name of the method, rather than what is being detailed in the WSDL as the expected input envelope. It is also not showing the input parameters as an input box in the test instead is shows "Report returned no rows".
    I have managed to get around this issue in a less than ideal way be modifying the NAME column in the WWV_FLOW_WS_OPERATIONS table to sayHelloElement instead of sayHello, and the TYPE_IS_XSD column in the WWV_FLOW_WS_PARAMETERS table to Y instead of N, in the FLOWS_020200 schema.
    It now works fine, but why what could have caused it to not be correct in the first place? The answer to this is very important to me as I am working on a way to call XML Publisher seemlessly, without using a URL link, from ApEx, and then emailing the output document to the user. I don't want to have to modify the underlying tables each time I add a new web service reference in ApEx.
    Any comments, views, assistance is welcome here.
    Many Thank in Advance
    Cj

    Tony:
    Thanks for reporting the issue. There was a change in the session pop-up page to include reporting on the new xmltype column in collections. Unfortunately the wrong function is being called on the xmltype column to display its contents. This will be fixed in an upcoming release.
    Application Express 4.0 Web service support makes use of this new xmltype column in a collection. Therefore if you call a web service that returns a large XML document, and you click the session toolbar, you will receive the error.
    Regards,
    Jason

  • Permissions Web Service Requests

    Okay, I'm moving from "Groups" to "Permissions".
    This post is just an FYI…not sure it's a bug or a feature…or even a little bit of both at the same time.
    In the "Permissions" web service requests (AddPermission, etc.) if you do not specify either a ParentHandle or ParentPath, the web service request is applied to your site root. You can still use a single forward slash as ParentPath for "root"…it has the same effect as leaving ParentPath and ParentHandle empty.
    If I recall correctly, most requests that take either a handle or path will return an error if neither is specified. I think this may be one of a small subset of requests that assumes "root" if both are missing.

    More notes on permissions…again, I think things work as intended, but I thought I'd mention this tidbit in the event that it might be useful to others.
    MergePermission can only work with an existing permission (access-level/credential pair)…this is as expected. If you try to "merge" a permission for a credential which does not exist, or if you do not specify a credential, you get an error saying that MergePermission cannot find the target credential. In effect, MergePermission changes the access-level for any permission it can find by-way-of an existing credential.
    Similarly, you cannot ask MergePermission to change the form of a credential. For example, you cannot use MergePermission to "change the credential whose associated access-level is 'Download' from 'Test@urn:mace…' to 'Student@urn:mace…'." MergePermission must always find that a target credential exists.
    However, when dealing with an existing permission, there is no effective difference between AddPermission and MergePermission. That is, if you add a permission whose credential already exits, then you overwrite it as-if you had merged it. Again, this works as expected. A "student", say, cannot have both "Downlaod" and "No Access" within the same iTunes U page. The only warning I would give is that AddPermission can act destructively…you are not warned, when using it, that if the permission you wish to add corresponds to a permission which already exists, then that permission will be overwritten.

  • Debugging my Web Service Request

    Hi,
    I am trying to use standard WS tools (like soapUI) to consume the CW14 WS.
    The first operation I call is Authentication – login.
    I get a good response (“true”) and a “set cookie” back in the soap header.
    I am using this cookie in every Request that follows, to authenticate the session.
    Note 1: if I use a wrong cookie, or set it up incorrectly, I get a “session not authenticated” response, so I know I’m doing it write when I do.
    Now I am trying to call a simple operation like ReadProjects.
    The WSDL for ReadProjects has a set of restrictions on values I am allowed to pass, and I follow them.
    Note 2: there are some mismatches, where for example <Field> can be A,B or C (according to the restrictions in the WSDL) but if I use A, I get a “wrong field value” response. I found that I have to use lower case  (‘a’) instead.
    To make the operation simple, I do as suggested in the documentation and WSDL restriction, and I pass the minimum amount of arguments required ex:
    <Field>title</Field>
    <Filter>ProjectName=MyProjName </Filter>
    Seems like no matter what I try, I get back “error: general error” as a response.
    Any help solving this and getting me on the right path, would be simply amazing.

    No that did not fix the problem, I still get that error
    Web Service Request Failed
    The following fault was returned from the web service call:
    Code          Server.NoService
    String          The AXIS engine could not find a target service to invoke! targetService is rpc/webtopsession

  • Change default schemaLocation of wsdl when deploying a web service

    Hi,
    When I deploy a web service, and then view the schemaLocation attribute of the wsdl, it points to a file with the machine name and not the url for my server. I have tried changing in config files all of the instances that point to my machine name instead of my url. This has not changed what gets set for schemaLocation when I deploy the web service. I also tried creating a new virtual server but I am unsure what value to put for the hostName. I tried my url and that did not seem to work. Does anyone have any ideas of to change the value that gets written to schemaLocation attribute when deploying a web service?
    Could anyone point me to documentation for changing a domains' hostName or in other words, the url used to access it? I know when I point my browser to my server's url instead of the machine name for the admin console, things seem to work. But then I run into problems such as above, where certain urls do not get set properly.
    If there is a way to set this when installing Sun ONE AS through the wizard, please let me know because I have not added much to my install and could reinstall the software.
    Thanks,
    Scott

    Hi disgruntled one,
    The same problem has plagued us a few times already, and I've finally found a solution that worked for me.
    Option 1 - requires redeployment of web services.
    1. In the admin console, navigate to Configuration -> HTTP service -> HTTP Listeners.
    2. Select the correct listener. In most cases this would be http-listener-1
    3. In the General Settings section, enter the correct name of your host in the Server Name field. This can be the corresponding name you have in a DNS for the host, or if you don't have a DNS entry, you can hard code it to the machine's IP address.
    4. Redeploy any web services for the changes to take effect. I've tried restarting the server but that doesn't seem to have an effect on the WSDL output.
    Option 2 - modify the generated WSDL file
    1. Look under the {you app server's path}\domains\domain1\generated\xml. You should find the generated WSDL file under this tree in their appropriate sub folders.
    2. Modify as you see fit.
    This method of course, needs to be redone for each time you redeploy the web services.
    Cheers,
    Fred
