When using the "Books" app on my ipod touch, if I open one of my books there is no way to return to the library without stopping and restarting the app. What am I doing wrong?
Once I open a book in my library there is no option to close it and return to the library. I must leave the app, stop the app and then restart it. How do I exit an opened book to return to my library without having to exit, stop, and restart the app?
Assuming you are talking about "iBooks", then just
tap the center of the screen
and you should see a "Library" in the upper left corner of the screen.
tap the center of the screen again,
and you should return to full screen mode.
if this is NOT iBooks, then I do not know what controls that app

I had to same problem. I found forums about adding the DNS 8.8.8.8 and 8.8.4.4 in System Preferences - Networks I did that and it still didnt work. Just found another forum saying to go into System Preferences - Time and Date and check the Set time and Date automatically. And it worked for me. Hope it works for you too.

The Music app on my ipod touch will not open, it loads but the sceen is always blank and then closes the music app and goes back to my list of apps.. what do i do? any ideas?
I have the same problem since a couple days ago, I will try to refrain from swearing or slagging on Apple, got a few questions for you, Gerbrandt, or anyone else who's had this problem and worked around it by means of a 3rd party app:
1-Since using panamp have you used your ipod in any docks successfully? (ex: I have a JVC car deck, a Klipsch dock and the Yamaha dock for my home theatre, all will be worthless if I can't resurrect my iPod as a music player)
2-Has using panamp done anything to help the original Apple music app to work or has it stayed dead?
3-Do you have any smart playlists? Like others with the 64GB model I have many many songs (that's the WHOLE point of the large capacity iPod, isn't it?) and I found that the more smart playlists I had the worse the apple music app behaved back when it was still working.
I'll check out panamp tonight, hopefully that will stop me from curb-stomping my iPod.
Anyone know whether an Apple "genius" has access to any sort of debugging facilities that would make it worth visiting the store for help on this matter? (ex: if they have root access to check for corrupt song database, or debug logs of some sort, or can do any direct manipulation of commands over the dock connector).
It sure would be nice to know why this happens, I have about 14,000 songs locked in iTunes now and many hours of time invested in ripping my CD collection but I don't want to buy a replacement iPod only to have this happen to it too. It's annoying enough the 4 hours it takes to resynch after a system restore (which in the end did nothing to resolve the original issue). -

The safari app on my Ipod Touch won't open. When i open the application it kicks me back to the Home Screen. It's only the Safari app that does that but I need it. I can't delete it and reinstall it and I don't know how to sync the app. Can anyone help me?!

What version of OS X do you have? Messages requires 10.8. Previously it was iChat (but does not have iMessage capability to send texts to an iOS device).

Im not sure what garage band is, but i can tell you the way apple recommends making ringtones. Highlight a song in iTunes, right click and select get info. Goto the options tab and youll see the time lengths (write down the ending time) for the start time type in where you want the ringtone to start, ringtones can only be 30 sec long so make the ending time 30 sec later. Exit it out of the info and while song highlighted goto the "advanced" tab at the top of iTunes where you will see an option that says "create aac version". after creating the aac version you will have a duplicate song in your iTunes, change the original back to the correct time length. Take the 30 sec aac version and drag it to your desktop, right click the icon and click "preferences" You will then be able to change the name of the file which will be somethign to the effect of "songnamehere.m4a" you just change the m4a to m4r. you now have a ringtone, drag the new file to iTunes where it will pop up in a new tab labled ringtones. If you cannot change the name of the file when it is on your desktop let me know and i will give you instuctions how to be able to change it. Once you get it figured out you can use any song you have on iTunes to make a ringtone.

I have several albums by and an artist as is expected for a number of artists. But after the new iOs5 update my ipod touch now only showing one on my ipod. I have already resynced it, any suggestions on how to fix the problem without having to restore my iPod to factory settings.

Have an iPod touch 4th gen. It is completely charged, but once I disconnect from a power source it shuts down and then the apple logo just keeps reappearing. I have restored via iTunes and reset all the settings. Any suggestions?
If you restored to factory settings/new iPod via iTunes (Not via Settings>General>Reset>Erase all Content and Setting) and still have the problem that indicates a hardware problem.

Are you trying the "sync" the Voice Memos to a computer other than your syncing computer? If it is to your syncing computer just follow the instructions in the Users Guide. If to another computer you will have to make a backup of the iPod on that computer and then restore the iPod from that backup and then sync to the computer.

You are not doing anything wrong. The January 2014 update of Photoshop CC added the option to embed OR link Smart Objects. Until this Photoshop CC update, Smart Objects were always embedded in the Photoshop document. Although it made the file size larger, it was like a built-in backup plan because any placed files were included in the document. Now you have the option of embedding or linking the Smart Object. Linking references the file rather than actually copying it to your current file. In terms of your small tutorial, choose Embed.

Hello! I am not sure what you mean by the first part of your question, but you can't drag the music to the ITunes library. What I would do is make a folder on your computer and drag the music you want there. Then you go to ITunes, click on "File" on the top-left corner of the screen. Go down to "Add folder to library". Select the one that has your music and it will download to your ITunes library. Hope that helped!

I have been trying to implement a small application for reception and analysis of radio signals. Well, I want to be able to stop and restart the record at wish. The first operation works fine; I can record and stop. However, when I try to record again, I get an error : "This operation requires the driver to be in the Running state". Although when stop recording it goes to initialize state (starting point) where it first started and worked properly. I've attached my VI to this thread.

I took a look at your VI and reproduced the problem in your VI but I tried to simplify the problem by trying to reproduce it in a smaller VI (attached).
Please find the VI attached which starts aborts and restarts a acquisition with configuration stages in between. I could not reproduce the issue using the VI which I have attached.
So I think there might be some very small issue in the VI which you posted.

Why won't my Vista machine accept 3.6.10?
