When you go on itunes and look at your capacity and there is a category called "other" what is included in this category?
whenever i plug my ipod into my computer and go on itunes and go on the thing that lets you look at your capacity it says that 3.2 GB is being taken up by a category called "other" What does this category include and why is it taking up 3.2 GB?
You have corrupted files that are now in the "other" category. To reduce the "other", you need to restore the iPod. Usually restoring from backup works.

iTunes 10.3 is not available anywhere yet at the time I am writing this. Keep checking throughout the day.
iCloud won't be available as a final product until Fall (Sept. 23 - Dec. 21). You might check to see if you have access to the beta with the app store and iBooks, but you will need 4.3.3. -

Migration Assistant creates a new user account with the transferred data. The only thing you have to do is to log out or reboot, and log in the new user, so you will access to your new data.

I upgraded my iPad (3rd gen) to iOS 7. When I go to iTunes and look at the summary and to the "Apps" list tab, iTunes stops working and shuts down. What can I do? I am using a Windows 7 machine.

I can't access the apps list in iTunes because it *****
down. Its pretty frustrating because many of my apps require me to manually transfer files into iTunes first to view
them. Not sure if the servers being swamped is an issue for me, unless they release a bug fix through another version of iTunes.

both in safari and facebook app. Likewise, can't see any facebook contact pictures on contacts app. my sofware is up to date. my facebook app is updated. please advise any solution to this. When you view it from safari, no pictures are shown and it looks like html script texts. In facebook app, there are texts but no no images shown. thanks.
iPad, iOS 6.1.3Where did you get the device? Is it possible that it has an IT policy on the device blocking Facebook and/or Facebook options? Look in Options >Security Options >General Settings (actual menu paths vary with OS version) and see if there is any reference to IT policy.

You don't need to do anything, you have chosen to back up to iCloud instead of iTunes.
Being able to back up to the cloud can be very useful, especially if you don't have access to a computer or have infrequent access to one, however unless you specifically need to use iCloud for back up, you will find backing up to iTunes significantly more convenient and possibly more reliable.

Can't figure out why colors don't totally change when you select type with curser? It looks like it has by looking at it, but when you highlight the area after the old color is still there. It happens with objects to. Driving me NUTZ. Help!
Select the text, and open the Appearance palette (Come on guys, text highlight is irrelevant, it happens to objects too says the OP), and see what's listed there. For a simple text object, there should only be a line item "Type", followed by "Characters", and when double-clicked the Characters line item expands to tell you the stroke and fill color. For a basic object, there should be a fill and/or stroke.
What happens sometimes, is that you end up adding extra strokes/fills to objects or text, and the appearance palette is where that will be noted. Especially when you are dealing with groups, and/or picking up a color with the eyedropper, you may inadvertently be adding a fill or stroke on top of something. You can drag those unwanted thingies from the Appearance palette into its own little trash can. -

Encountered an error apsdaemon.exe when trying to update itunes. Tried to redownload it and it said Service 'apple mobile device' failed to start and do I have sufficient privileges to start system services? I have an Ipad too. R they talking about it? I didn't uninstall Itunes from the Ipad Just my PC,
I don't think so...Seems like an apple issue to me...Or do you know something I don't?

Two possibilities, one is you should close apps on the iPad, the other is your internet speed is not able to handle the demands of a high speed device.
To close apps: Double click home button, swipe up to close the apps.
To solve internet problem, contact your provider. Basic internet is not enough for video games and movies. Your router may be old and slow. -
I have a 2nd generation iPod touch. I have not updated the software from version 2.2.1. When I connect to iTunes to update to 4.2, I keep getting an error message. Has anyone else had this issue and figured out a way to fix it?

Attempt to restore your iOS device two more times. If the issue is still unresolved, the device may need service.
The "device may need service" means a hardware problem. In that case make an appointment at the Genius Bar of an Apple store.

I was using IPhoto looking at creating a Book when I uploaded the book for purchasing the site froze. I stopped the upload turned off computer and when I restarted the computer IPhoto dissappeared. I called Apple and the lady talked me through restoring IPhoto. She found it in the trash.It worked fine for a day or two, I uploaded more photos from Nikon camera closed IPhoto and now it won't open. The App Store trys to open it but it times out and won't connect.
When I double click on IPhoto to open and look at my photos the APP store trys to open it. I never had this issue before. What do I do?Try dragging a photo to the desk top, highlight it and press COMMAND I this will open the info window, in the drop down menu "open with" select either preview, or other, then select iPhoto. Preview is the default.
Then click "Change All"

I have an HP Pavilion dv 1240 us and my sound has stopped working . I fixed this in the past by doing a system restore for a past date. I did this again and the sound worked for a while and then just stopped. Any suggestions?
