Where are books for iBook reader ?

So in iTunes, I search for 'kaplan' as they are giving away 100 ebooks. In the results iTunes just shows audio books. I change my search parameter to 'book'. Still shows only audio books. In the Books section it always just says: " Books related to your search can be also downloaded on iPad with iBooks." LaaTeeDaa.
Is this stupid program for real ?

You download them from Kaplan using Safari. I don't believe they are in the iBook Store.
Safari will then ask if you want to use iBooks to open it.
So I guess I have to spend the next 2 hours on my iPod searching and downloading the 100 free books
They show up in iBooks. Or the nook app if the get them from B&N.com
Just curious as to why you would download all 100 books since the selection is so varied?

No not with Safari. There is no download link there. And they would have to have 3 different ones for the 3 different readers they support.
I had to use the iBook app to search and download one-at-a-time. I want all 100 because they are diverse. And free for a limited time. A few for my step-son's ipod (he is not allowed internet access on it) for SAT test practice.
King_Penguin: Thanks for that tip. Now how do I NOT have them sync'd to my ipod yet still have them on the computer for later usage ? In fact, that question in general for anything in the Library as I find no menu (dropdown, contextual or right click) to tell iTunes not to put things on the ipod yet keep it around for doing so in the future.

Is there anything to do about the higher costs of books for ibooks? Can you read books purchased at Barnes and Noble on Ibooks? It's just that it's hard to purchase from Ibooks when I can pay $4.99 for a book that costs $6.99 on ibooks.

You can do it, but it requires breaking the law. You have to strip the DRM protection from the eBooks purchased elsewhere, then use a programme to convert the B&N eBook into an ePub (which is what Apple uses). It is extremely complicated, and not for the faint of heart -- plus, you have to scour around the internet for the programme.
But it can be done.
BTW, with all due respect, you haven't thought out your gripe correctly. I'm talking of the part of your post above, where you intimate that you should be able to read books purchased at one site, on an Apple device, which has its own store.
If you went to Barnes & Noble and bought a book, but then lost it, and your only option was to buy it at another bookstore, would you tell them, "I want to take this book home, because I already bought it at another bookstore"? Of course not. Your purchase rights begin and end with the particular item you bought, once.

Since you mentioned Time Machine, I'm assuming you have an external hard drive? So why not make a complete backup - either with Time Machine or a bootable clone with CarbonCopyCloner or SuperSuper? Applications sometimes transfer well, but not always - it depends how many files/parts they have on the hard drive in different locations. There is no simple answer to your question because of that - it depends on the individual application. I'd back up all of it, do the install, and then use Setup Assistant to port things back.

Where are all the iBooks?

I have the iBooks app and I've read that there are some 60 thousand books available but where the heck are they? I've reviewed many of the categories in the iBookstore and I don't see how there's anything close to that many books. Most of the categories have less than 100 books. So, where are all these books and how do I browse the titles?

Bingo! There's really only about 30k (non-Gutenberg) books in the store compared to approximately 500k from Amazon. iBooks has only been out for a week so it'll take them time to catch up, but in the meantime it's nice that we can buy books from either iBooks or the Kindle app so there's some competition and a little more choice.

Where are classes for oracle.xml.parser.v2?

I have downloaded both V1 and V2 of the XML parser. I have managed to download the java classes under org.w3c.dom from www.w3.org but I can't find the classes under oracle.xml.parser.v2 (or without v2) anyway on technet. Both are required for import.
I would have expected them to be in the ZIP files xmlparser_v1_0_2_0.zip and xmlparser_v2_0_2_7.zip but they don't seem to be. These contain the equivalent HTML files but not the class files themselves, so compiling the samples is not possible.
Any help would be appreciated as this is becoming very frustrating.

They are not stored in a place you can get to them. Best you can do is try to bring up that contacts image and do a screen capture.

Barb, I suggest that you look at the default location for XP identified in a PSE 4 FAQ. C:\Documents and Settings\All Users\Application Data\Adobe\Catalog Folders\<Catalog name>\Proxies. It is very likely that the location will be the same in PSE 5, but I don't currently have Offline files to verify that. Yes, I think that the same location was used for moved offline files and files that were originally imported in to the Catalog specifying Offline status. First drag clips or portions of clips from Event to your Project. To delete unwanted frames, there are two ways.
1) Select the frames you want to delete so there is a yellow border around them. Then right-click/Delete Selection.
2) Select the frames in the clip that you want to keep. Then right-click/Trim To Selection.
