Where are the shuttle and jog in Pro 6?

Where can I find yhe shuttle slider and jog wheel in Premiere pro 6?
In the source panel it's okay to move with the arrows but in the programpanel it goes way to slow!
How do I fast foreward???

Its on the keyboard somewhere on top center close to the number keys. To be straight, its just below F12 key.

Where are the home and end buttons

so i'm new to mac and purchased a mac book pro and that's when it hit me, where are the Insert, Home, End, Page Up, Page Down keys? Where are the arrow keys. I'm not much of a track pad user and although I think it is awesome I like to keep my hands on the keyboard as much as possible.
Also, is it me or does the Delete key on a Mac move in the wrong direction (from right to left instead of left to right)?

The answer is the Fn key...
Held down in addition to the Left arrow is Home, with the Right arrow key is End, with the Up arrow key is PgUp, with the Down arrow key is PgDn, and with to the Delete key is Forward Delete.
You might find it helpful to enable the Keyboard Viewer in Hardware, Keyboard, Show Keyboard viewer in menu bar. On OS X 10.6 it displays a flag for your selected country. (Not sure about OS X Lion 10.7 though.) When enabled, click on the flag and select Show Keyboard Viewer. As you press Shift, Fn, Ctrl, Alt/Option, and Command you will see onscreen what keystrokes result, separately and in combination.

Ok first of aqll. Where are the admins? I have seen none of their posts anywhere. They dont' seem to care or moderate the board.

This is an interesting thread and I thank you and the other more experienced folk for your participation. There is a few similar recent explanatory type threads which are also useful.
However, the above partial reply does concern me a bit. And yes, I do realise that you personally are in no way responsible for or accountable for the actions or non-actions of the mods or for Apple policy. And that you are just helpfully recounting what appears to be the Discussions policy and practices.
Several months ago a reply I made to a thread was deleted, presumably by a mod but what instigated that action I do not know or do I know who reported my apparent posting crime.

If you fail to abide by these terms Apple will send an e-mail that informs you that your Submission has been deleted or edited."
I did not receive any email from Apple explaning the reason for my submission deletion.

Now, of course I am in no position to require the mods to account for their actions and I accept that these Discussions are wholly owned and operated by Apple, but Apple does [or I hope so] realise the value of the discussions and the goodwill they create and enhance.
But what is the point of having a set of rules, availble for all to see, which are in effect a two-way agreement, if Apple chooses to ignore them while expecting users to abide by them. I would have liked the opportunity to explain the import of my submission. But having it peremptorily deleted without explanation is just not fair.
But then, I expect someone will take offence at this post and it will be deleted.

Where are the files and logs store in Mac while surfing internet?

Hi everyone,
I just switch over to Mac from windows recently. I was wondering where are all the temp. internet log and files store in Macbook Pro while surfing the internet. In windows its in temporary internet folder but how about Mac.
I do know we can clear the cache when in Safari. However does it really clear all the downloaded contents from internet?

Not sure what you are looking for. The directory your download files into is specified in the safari preferences. Safari records some of its stuff (preferences, bookmarks, history, etc.) in ~/Library/Safari. Finally the caches are in ~/Library/Caches.

Where are the PLAYLIST and EQ preferences for iTunes located?

Somehow I lost my iTunes Playlist when I moved the audio files to another hard drive on the same computer. Does anyone know where the PLAYLIST and EQ preferences for iTunes located on a Mac? Also can I make a copy or backup of those preferences? Thanks!

There are no Playlist Preferences - playlists are saved into the iTunes Library database file (what we call "the Library" in these forums).
There is however a com.apple.iTunes.eq.plist file - it's in the ~user/Library/Preferences folder. Individual EQs for your tracks are stored in the iTunes Library file.

in iphoto to move from the top of your events to the bottom or vice versa the shortcut says to either use the" home key"or the "end key" my question is where are they?

When I have "All Events" displayed in iPhoto 9.2.1 (the latest version), neither of the preceding two suggestions takes me instantly to the beginning or the end of the displayed event grid. What does the trick for me is Fn + left arrow and Fn + right arrow. I'm running Snow Leopard 10.6.8, in case that makes any difference.

Log and Capture - where are the cuts and renames stored

I'm having a problem where I'm loosing the cuts and clip renames

Sorry about that (I'm new to FCP)
Log and transfer sequentially renames all of the clips when I point to the AVCHD directory on my mac (which I copied from the camera). It, unfortunatly, doesn't add any leading 0's, and it sorts alphabetically, so my clips are out of order (1, 10, 11, 12, 13...2, 20). The process that I have been following, in order to get them back into order, is to add leading 0's to make them the same length (eg Clip# 1 becomes Clip# 001...). This is a real pain and I would welcome suggestions on how to improve this process. I would be much happier if it used the start time of the clip (or even the sequential 5-digit clip number that comes off of the camera)
In 'Log and Transfer' I am setting in and out points on the clips. When I add them to the import batch the utility only brings in the video between the points.
My problem is that, on a few occations, I have gone through the hour or so that it takes to do this only to find that the changes are gone when I reloaded the project. Most of the time it works fine but, if I knew how / where it stored this info, I would be able to verify it and make sure that it's archived...

Where are the Brightness and Levels controls?

It's so simple, but it's late at night (early hours of the morning actually) and I'm stuck!
The most basic of controls . . . . Brightness, Contrast, Levels etc. I just cannot find.
Where are they?
Anyway, I'm off to bed.

Looking back to the old FCP, the Brightness filter was pretty appalling as it really upset the contrast etc. and it required complex fiddling with the other controls to get a semblance of balance back.
Then a year or so ago someone made a new free Brightness plugin that not only adjusted the brightness but automatically compensated the contrast controls so everything looked great.
I can't remember the name of the creator or the plugin.
It might be Luca and this, but I can't be sure.

It's a pity that FCP X hasn't got a similar effect.
The following adjustment gave the images a nice lift and kept everything pleasant to view.
Highs +10%, Mids +5% and Shadows +3%

Where are the "Install and Keep Package" Downloads?

I just did a clean install of 10.5.
As I wanted to save all the download Apple 10.5 updates to install other macs, I asked Software Update to "Install and Keep Package".
It downloaded them and installed them, BUT I cant find them on my HD?
Where are they?

Same problem here with Install and Save from the Updater.
I do have a permission issue which is suppose to be solved by installing twice the Update OS X 10.5.8 Combo (?). I don't have speed connection and it took me 26 hours to load this update ...and now I can't find it.

EReader - where are the books and is this the original 'reader'?

If I sound confused, it's because I am. First, I have a Sony Clie NX70V, but this confusion isn't really related to that. Sony says to do whatever I feel like with ereaders, and the fact the people refer to having been given 'ereader' as a TXT and PDF reader, on some of their Clies seems irrelevant. Mine did not come with 'ereader'. I downloaded software with that name both to my XP desktop and to my Clie, without a hitch. (In fact, I want to say that the whole Palm experience has been a complete pleasure.) But it seems that, like Fictionwise, of which it is a branch, Ereader.com is purchase only, more or less, and the software itself does not allow you to just browse for a directory of txt books and open them. (Even Mobireader allows that, though it's a bit hidden.) It says no books are installed, on the Clie, and that's it.
So, is there some OTHER software named "ereader" out there that was originally put on Palms and Clies? If not, can someone point me towards it?Orjustexplain?Thankyou!

Where are the FCPx and iMovie audio files located in fcpx 10.1

I updated to FCPx 10.1 a couple days ago and have now realized that none of the FCPX or iMovie audio files are showing up under the Music and Sound button. Does anyone know where they've run off to?

Where are the shadows and highlights sliders?

Just confirming that they eliminated the 2 most useful editing sliders. And the option to edit in an external editor is gone, too? This app is not ready for prime time.

The Shadow and Highlight sliders are in the optional set, that you have to reveal.
In the Edit panel open the adjustments.
If you do not see "Light" adjustments, click the blue "Add" text.
In the Light Adjustments, click the down arrow beside "Auto".
Now you will see several sliders for light values.

Where are the mouse and keyboard settings stored

I reinstalled the OS, and cleared the PRAM and NVRAM. The Mac still recognises the Apple bluetooth mouse and keyboard. How do I reset them?

Some of the settings are stored in NVRAM.
Have you tried pulling the batteries out of the mouse and keyboard for a few minutes and see if that does it?
Are you trying to un-pair devices? Why not just delete them in the BlueTooth preferences?
