Where can I download osx 10.5? I have a powerbook G4 with osx 10.4.11

HI, I have  a powerbook G4 with OS X 10.4.11 that I never bothered to upgrade to 10.5, I would like to install Office 2011 but I need at least OS X 10.5.8.  I can not find where to download 10.5 anywhere.  Can anyone help?

Leopard is no longer available at the Apple Store but may be available by calling Apple Phone Sales @ 1-800-MY-APPLE (1-800-692-7753).
If you can't obtain a retail install DVD from Apple, look on eBay or Google the installer part numbers to possibly find at an on-line store. Here's what to look for:
MB427Z/A  Leopard 10.5.1 install DVD
MB576Z/A  Leopard 10.5.4 install DVD
MB021Z/A  Leopard 10.5.6 install DVD (single user)
MB022Z/A  Leopard 10.5.6 install DVD (5-user family pack)

Mac OS X 10.5 Leopard Installation and Setup Guide

After you install the base 10.5, download & install the 10.5.8 combo update at http://support.apple.com/downloads/Mac_OS_X_10_5_8_Combo_Update
The DVD should look like this
Caution - Leopard does not support classic mode. So, if you currently open OS 9 apps in classic mode, you won't be able to do this if you upgrade to Leopard.

Where can I download OSX Maverick? I'm looking for the link where there is the "download button" I can't find it! Please Help!

What is your current operating system? It needs to be at least Snow Leopard 10.6.8 in order to have the App Store available.
Which Mac are your trying to upgrade? It needs to be:
    iMac (Mid 2007 or newer)
MacBook (Late 2008 Aluminum, or Early 2009 or newer)
MacBook Pro (Mid/Late 2007 or newer)
MacBook Air (Late 2008 or newer)
Mac mini (Early 2009 or newer)
Mac Pro (Early 2008 or newer)
    Xserve (Early 2009)

  • My macbook is 10.6.8  but then I can't find the imovie. Where can I download the older version of imovie which is compatible with my macbook 3,1?

  • Where can I download OSX Mavericks to upgrade from Lion?

I have an Early 2011 Mac Pro 17" and have just acquired an Apple TV - but hey presto Lion does not support mirroring - whereas Mavericks does!!
So short of upgrading to Yosemite (mixd reviews...!!!) I was hoping to upgrade to Mountain Lion or Mavericks??
Anyone know where I can get Mavericks from?
    thanks

If you have never purchased OS X Mavericks before under your Apple ID, then it is no longer currently available.
OS X Mountain Lion is still available on the Mac App Store, but you must purchase a special email download code to download and install it from the Mac App Store.
Before embarking on a major OS upgrade, it would be wise, advisable and very prudent if you backup your current system to an external connected and Mac formatted Flash drive OR externally connected USB, Thunderbolt or FireWire 800, Mac formatted hard drive. Then, use either OS X Time Machine app to backup your entire system to the external drive OR purchase, install and use a data cloning app, like CarbonCopyCloner or SuperDuper, to make an exact and bootable copy (clone) of your entire Mac's internal hard drive. This step is really needed in case something goes wrong with the install of the new OS or you simply do not like the new OS, you have a very easy way/procedure to return your Mac to its former working state.
Then, determine if your Mac meets ALL minimum system install requirements.
To install OS X  10.8 Mountain Lion, 10.9 Mavericks (currently unavailable) or OS X 10.10 Yosemite.you need one of these Macs:
OS X 10.8 Mountain Lion purchased emailed download code here.
    http://store.apple.com/us/product/D6377Z/A/os-x-mountain-lion
    iMac (Mid-2007 or later)
MacBook (13-inch Aluminum, Late 2008), (13-inch, Early 2009 or later)
MacBook Pro (13-inch, Mid-2009 or later),
    MacBook Pro (15-inch or 17-inch, Mid/Late 2007 or later)
MacBook Air (Late 2008 or later)
Mac mini (Early 2009 or later)
Mac Pro (Early 2008 or later)
    Xserve (Early 2009)
    Your Mac also needs:
OS X Mountain Lion, Lion, or Snow Leopard v10.6.8 already installed
2 GB or more of memory (I strongly advise, at least, 4 GBs of RAM or more)
8 GB or more of available space
    Next,
If you run any older Mac software from the earlier PowerPC Macs, then none of this software will work with the newer OS X versions (10.7 and onward). OS X Snow Leopard had a magical and invisible PowerPC emulation application, called Rosetta, that worked seamlessly in the background that still allowed older PowerPC coded software to still operate in a Intel CPU Mac.
The use of Rosetta ended with OS X Snow Leopard as the Rosetta application was licensed to Apple, from a software company called Transitive, which got bought out, I believe, by IBM and Appe  could no longer secure their rights to continue to use Rosetta in later versions of OS X.
So, you would need to check to see if you have software on your Mac that maybe older than, say, 2006 or older.
Also, check for app compatibilty  here.
    http://roaringapps.com/
If you have any commercial antivirus installed and/or hard drive cleaning apps installed on your Mac, like MacKeeper, CleanMyMac, TuneUpMyMac, MacCleanse, etc. now would be a good time to completely uninstall this apps by doing a Google search to learn how to properly uninstall these types of apps.
These types of apps will only cause your Mac issues later after the install of the new OS X version and you will have to completely uninstall these types of apps later.
Once you have determined all of this, you should be able to find the latest versions of OS X by clicking on the Mac App Store icon in the OS X Dock and then login to the Mac App Store using your Apple ID and password and if you purchased a download code, input that code.
You can then begin the download and installation process of installing the newer versions of OS X from the Mac App Store.

  • Where can I download fcp rescue for 4.5 or need help with crashing

    Hi guys,
I'm still running 4.5 and haven't had a lot of problems with it in the past 2 years. I can't get the program to open today however. It keeps getting stuck on "profiling for rt extreme". I've trashed all the preferences, rebooted, and searched this forum for answers, but am still having problems.
In one post I found a link for fcp rescue, but it looks like they've taken off old versions of the program. I can only download for fcp 5.
Does anyone know where I could still download this program from FCP 4.5? or Can anyone suggest trying something other than trashing preferences or reinstalling?

FCP Rescue for Four and 4.5 are the same program.
As to your issue, I'd make sure you don't have any errant USB/FW devices plugged in. And I believe you get the Profiling for RT Extreme when there are no preferences, so it would seem that you've done that part right...

  • Where can I download OSX Mountain Lion.  I'd purchased it in the past and now my purchases list only shows Maverick.

I'd purchased Mountain Lion on release date and Maverick on release date as well.  I realized my old Macbook Pro (late 2007) is supported by Mountain Lion, so I want to upgrade it from 10.6.8.  However, in the App Store purchases I only see Maverick and search the App Store doesn't bring up Mountain Lion.

I tried that on both the old machine (10.6.8) and new one (10.9.2) and see just Maverick.  I'm logged in the same Apple account for both.  I see that I made the purchase in my receipts on July 26, 2012.

  • Where can I download a copy of garage band that is compatible with Leopard OS x v 10.5.8?

I purchased a used iMac and it apparently did not come with it.  I am willing to purcahse it, but I cant figure out where one would buy it and what version I am looking for.

You need to buy iLife 09 or earlier on DVD or order/install that iMac's original disks.

  • How/where can I download FrameMaker11? I only have a licence for this version and not version 12.

    Hi guys,
I have already started a chat about this but I kinda got kicked out.
The essence is that I need to download FrameMaker 11 to re-sintall it on a PC.
The problems is that I couldn't find a download anywhere for a FrameMaker version older than version 12.
So I'd really appreciate your help, guys.
    Best,
    Tim

Here's the chat transcript from yesterday, btw:

    Mayank: Hello! Welcome to Adobe.
Mayank: I have received your query. Please allow me a moment to verify your account and to review the details of your request.
Mayank: Sure I will provide you the download links for Framemaker 11
Mayank: There is a way to download the previous version
info: Your chat transcript will be sent to [email protected] at the end of your chat.

Mayank: Let me know once you are on that page

If you purchased your copy online, you should be able to re-download the install files from the Adobe Licensing site; otherwise you’ll have to contact Adobe Support again. Hopefully you deactivated your copy of FM on the old machine first to free up your serial number.

  • HT4770 where can i download lion server?

Where can I download OSX Lion Server?

Now that Mountain Lion is out, you can't buy older versions of OSX directly from the Apple Store. However, you can try calling Apple (1-800-MY-APPLE) and tell them that your hardware doesn't support Mountain Lion. I'm sure they still have copies of Lion. It's not like they destroy all traces of previous versions of OSX every time a new version is released.

  • Where can I download Elements 8 for Mac ?

I've got a new Mac without a DVD drive !  The old Mac is dead !
Where can I download Elements 8 ?  I have the serial number so can activate.

if you follow all 7 steps you can directly download a trial here:  http://prodesigntools.com/direct-download-links-for-lightroom-3-and-photoshop-elements-8.h tml
and activate with your serial number.
if you have a problem starting the download, you didn't follow all 7 steps, or your browser does not accept cookies.
the most common problem is caused by failing to meticulously follow steps 1,2 and/or 3 (which adds a cookie to your system enabling you to download the correct version from adobe.com).
failure to obtain that cookie results in an error page being displayed after clicking a link on prodesigntools.com or initiates the download of an incorrect (eg, current) version.
