Where can I get a D88 audio tape transfered to digital mixdown?

A client gave us a d88 audio tape to use on a DVD, but this format seems be kinda obscure... Anyone know where we can get it transfered to digital mix down?

You may be able to get two channels off a Hi-8 camcorder, but I believe the DA88s record the other 6 tracks where the video normally lives, so that wouldn't work.
Call Beyond Pix on Battery Street and ask them. I know the audio guy who used to have his suite in there had a DA88.

I spilt some water - damn! - a couple of days ago on my Tecra A3 and I think it is beyond fixing, though please correct me if I am wrong.
I haven't been cleaning it regularly and I think there was probably quite a bit of dust - and other foreign matter - under the keys and I think some dust has got, via the water, into the electronics connecting the keys to the white connecting tissue - I don't know what you call this - which links the keyboard to the rest of the machine.
Most of the keys aren't working, and some of them, whey they work, add in for free, for one tap, extra letters.
I removed the keyboard, and left it and the machine to dry and, when that didn't do the trick, dried the keyboard and surrounding parts thorougly - working delicately - and cleaned it using a tiny bit of alcohol and ear cotton wool cleaners. I also used a little air pressure producing machine to try to get rid of any dust. I think I did a fair job but It is still not working.
I think I will have to buy a new keyboard. Do you know where can I get a new keyboard A3 in the UK or a second hand keyboard that would be in perfectly good working order?

On the Toshiba website you can search for the nearest authorized service provider. They sell all original Toshiba spare parts. Call them and ask for a new keyboard, they can order a new one for you.

Second hands you get from eBay for example but normally keyboards are not so expensive so I would buy a new one.

I recently upgraded from 2.50 BIOS to 2.54 and now I'm having audio issues. I can only found the latest BIOS on Lenovos site. Where can I get 2.50 to put it back and test if audio fixes? Does Lenovo have a link for older BIOS?

Hi,
HDMI sound is actually comes with the video card. DV6 is a reries of dozens if not hundreds of models, which one is yours ? Please use the following steps to check and fix:
General Instructions for Setting Up HDMI Audio
Preliminary steps:
1. Plug the laptop into a power source. Some of the models have a power management scheme that will not allow for HDMI audio while running on batteries. Later, after you get your HDMI audio working, if you find that it still does not work on batteries you can change your power management settings in the Control Panel.
2. HDMI has its own audio driver separate from the audio system of the computer ( Sigmatel, IDT, or Realtek ) . It is incorporated into the graphics card's driver so make sure you have the newest version of your graphics card driver. On models with Intel graphics the HDMI audio driver will appear in the Device Manager as "Audio Device on High Definition Audio Bus".
3. Turn off the computer and TV before connecting the HDMI cable. Later, after you get your HDMI audio working, if you disconnect the cable while the computer is running and lose your audio, try closing and then re-opening whichever program you were using that generates audio.
4. Every time you try a different solution you should reboot the computer. HDMI audio is extremely finicky and seems to usually need a reboot.
Make the Connection:
1. Connect the HDMI cable to the computer and TV. If the TV has a "DVI/HDMI" port do not use it. Use a port for HDMI only.
2. Turn on the TV and select the HDMI port you are using. Adjust the TV settings to receive HDMI audio if any.
3. Turn on the computer. (Optional, some people close the laptop lid immediately after hitting the power button but I am not sure why. Most people should not need to do this.)
4. Optional. Some models do better if the TV is set to be the primary display. To set, repeatedly press Fn+F8 (or ctrl+alt+F4) to cycle through the settings (laptop display only/laptop display plus external display/external display only). Reboot the laptop.
5. Go to Start>Control Panel>Sound>Playback tab. Make "HDMI" the default device. (If "HDMI" is not there, right click in the white area and look under "Show Disconnected Devices" or "Show Disabled Devices" and see if it is there.)
Post Connection Problems:
1. If there is still no option to select "HDMI' as the default audio playback device, try re-installing or updating the graphics driver, or even try an older version. The graphics driver is the driver for HDMI audio, not the regular audio driver. A few people with Intel graphics had better results by uninstalling the graphics driver, rebooting, and letting Windows look for a driver (instead of downloading the driver from the Dell support site).
2. Try disconnecting and then reconnecting the HDMI cable.
3. If you are using Windows Media Player or Windows Media Center but get no HDMI audio even after it is selected as the default playback device, go to
Control Panel>Sound>Playback tab>Audio/Playback device>HDMI>properties>Advance>Exclusive Mode and uncheck "exclusive mode".
4. Try a different HDMI cable.
5. Try a different HDMI port on the TV.

an audio interface is what allows your mic to talk to the computer. Audio interface's can be as simple as your computer's built in mic, or a usb mic that you plug in. It depends on how much you want to spend and what you're going to be doing with it.
I use my iMac's built in mic for recording my audio blog, but I record vocals and other instruments through my Presonus Firepod.
I would start with a simple usb mic, you can get one at any computer store, and you'll be fairly amazed with the quality of what you get for the little money you spend. It will be a good start, then once you get going, you might feel the need for an upgrade. You'll spend less that $40 US.

That's not quiet correct. If the music will be synchronized with video, one needs a sync license as well as the publishers license. Where can I get a new hard drive for my intel imac? **** thing dumped, less than 3 years old.

This is my first mac and the **** hard drive crashed in only 2+ years and of course the waranty is expired. Can I replace the hard drive with any 3.5" replacement or do I need something special. We use PI 7.0 in productive environment, but we plan a release update to PI 7.11. We have several Java Mappings for PI 7.0 with Java 1.4. So we have to upgrade this also to Java 1.5.
We are using following SAP Java libs:

- sapxmltoolkit.jar
