Where did the iPhoto 10 iCloud Photostream come from and how do I get rid of it?

I just updated my MacBook Air to mavericks. I have an iPad and iphone as well just updated to ios7. My Mac updated iPhoto as well. Now when I opened iPhoto I got my flickr and Facebook integrated folders in the left pane plus an iCloud photostream.
I didn't have that before and it has 287 pictures pulled from many devices but I didn't set that up. I only had/have a private photostream with a particular name and about 10 pics in it. this new one is just called iCloud photostream and it has 287 pics of which some I know I took with my iPad and others with my iphone. I of course sync both devices with my Mac so this pics are in my iPhoto library as well.

The icon is +Sections, not just Sections, as in "Add a Section". When you click that icon you get a section break and and a new section template, complete with preformatted text called placeholder text. The reason "Lorem ipsum" is there is so you can see what the format looks like. The reason that it is Latin gibberish is so you won't get hung up on, or distracted by, what it says. It's just a display of format. Select the "Lorem ipsum" text and start typing your content.

Either you enabled the guest user, or you enabled Find My Mac, which requires there to be an active guest account for a thief to log into, so that they'll connect to the internet and allow you to locate it.

Where did second streaming photos come from and how do I get rid of it?

I used to take pictures and videos that later could've been found under photos app. Now there are two choices in the photo app. One I think says streaming. I cannot delete anything there and the are even pictures of my home page. It's useless to me, so how do I get rid of it and only have one place to view the pictures and videos taken? Thanks!

If you what to keep your pics in the photo app, just turn off photo stream.

Where did the little "flashing pumpkin" on the bottom toolbar come from and how can I get rid of it?

On the bottom toolbar, right hand side, next to my incredimail icon, recently appeared a little "flashing pumpkin". I have not clicked on it because I don't know where it came from or why it is there and do not want to risk getting a virus. When you hover over it with the mouse, it says "Happy Halloween" in the dialog box that appears above it. If you right click on it, the only options are "Open Message" or "Leave it"?

Mail has created a calendar called "Time Profile" that cannot be deleted. Where has it come from and how do I get rid of it?

I am an IT guy in a Windows environment. We have one user who has brought his MacBook pro and added his Office 365 account to the native Mail app in OSx. The calendar now shows an additional calendar called Time Profile. It seems to serve no purpose, it cannot be deleted and the user is getting repeated pop-ups mentioning 'Caldav error 403'. Any ideas how to remedy this? Thanks in advance.

I have just recently noticed this as well. I have been running one email account on O365 for over a year and until the past couple of days have never noticed it. I now have my iCal pointed at 3 O365 accounts and there is a "Time Profile" calendar for each of them.
They really do not bother me, however, I would very much like to know what the are for.

Such symptoms bode serious hardware issues and you shouldn't think about fixing it yourself when you are still in waranty. Get to an Apple Store, like the other poster suggests.

You may see that message below the Google search box on www.google.com/firefox which is the old Firefox default home page. That page is no longer being maintained by Google.
You should try changing your home page to:
about:home
If you don't know how to change the home page, you should take a look at the Knowledge Base article [[How to set the home page]].

I did the itunes update on my computer and how I cant get Itunes to work.

I am upset, I did the typical update that I tunes gives you and now I can't get it to work at all. It says I need permission to use it, or that the moible system is not working which I am not sure what that means at all.

I have a large amount of "Other" data on my iPhone 5 after the last 2 updates. Why and how do I get rid of it?

After I sync my phone, it has a large amount of data under the category-"other". About 11gigs. This is an issue. Does anyone know why and how I can delete it? I think it's from iMessage, email, etc..., but I have deleted lots of it with no result.

You have not provided any system info or details about your document structure, so nobody can know. their could simply be another element or a specific appearance setting preventing this or you have an issue with your input device. Similar behavior has been reported for some Wacom tablets for instance.
