Where do I change the dpi settings for creating a jpg in Bridge CS5?

I upload jpgs to an online site to be viewed in a browser. I've been using Bridge CS5 to batch process the jpgs from high quality pdfs.The settings I see when I do the settings to create the jpgs will only give me Maximum settings and the option to set it on 12 but when I open the jpg that's created in Photoshop, it's still 72. I would like to have at least a 150 dpi setting. I've searched and can't find any help online. What am I doing wrong, or isn't there any place to give me the option to change the settings to a higher dpi in Bridge? If this isn't possible, what do you suggest to make the process go faster? I'm using the Adobe CS5 programs.
Thanks in advance for any help.

"Maximum" and "12" usually refer to compression (influencing image quality and jpeg file size in bytes); and as Curt wrote, dpi is meaningless for display by and viewing in web browsers.  (It could be a different matter if you are uploading the jpeg files for someone to download from the web to print.)
What are the sequence of steps that you and your batch processing take from Bridge?
You can use call Photoshop's Image Processor from Bridge to create the jpeg files  (Tools > Photoshop > Image Processor).  In the Image Processor you can set jpeg compression, pixel dimensions if desired, also convert to sRGB (good idea for web display).  In my experience the image processor leaves unchanged whatever dpi is set in the source file; or, if none there as might be for a pdf, it will set the dpi value in your New Document Preset Print Resolution (from your Photoshop Units & Rulers preferences).

  • Where can I change the font settings for the name of the month in iPhoto's calendar project?

    where can I change the font settings for the name of the month in iPhoto's calendar project?  I just ordered two copies of a calendar I designed in iPhoto and was surprised to find that the calendar's months were printing in something like an Arial 10 pt font.  On previous calendars I've printer via iPhoto and Apple, the font was much larger.  I've tried every menu option in iPhoto and the Calendar Project program and can't find where this is modifyable. Which leads me to ask, what the heck happened here in the first place?  I did not consciously change the default.
    I do remember that I got some notice when I first tried to print the calendar about the default font having been changed, but I don't know how this could have happened, and I didn't know what impact that had on the calendar until it was delivered.  I typically print about a dozen annual calendars but won't buy another until I've got a handle on this problem.  For the most part, the rest of the calendar is okay.
    As a P.S. is there anywhere where one can get a power user's manual, or instruction on iPhoto?

  • How do you change the dpi settings in iPhoto

    How do you change the dpi settings in iPhoto

    Short answer: the dpi is set when you decide what size you're printing at.
    Long Answer: Dpi means nothing in the digital world of your computer. There are no "inches" to have "dots per..." Size is measured in pixels. That's the same on your camera. It doesn't take 10 x 8 or 6 x 4 shots. It takes shots measured in megapixels. For instance 4,000 x 3,000 is a 12 megapixel camera.
    Using that example, that shot from that camera has 12 million pixels. So that's how many "Dots" there are. To decide the ratio of dots per inch, you now need to decide the "inches" part. And that's printing.  Print at 10 x 8 and the dpi will be 4,000/10 or about 400 dpi. At 6 x 4 then it's 4,000/6 or 660 dpi. Work the other way: Print at 300 dpi and the resulting image will be about 13 inches on the longer side.
    So, your photo as a fixed number of pixels. Changing the dimensions of the print will vary the dpi, changing the dpi will vary the dimensions of the print.

  • How do I change the default settings for opening documents on my macbook?

    Hi I would like to know how to change the default settings for opening documents on my macbook. Everytime I try to open a doc. it automatically opens with Textedit, instead of Pages or another program.

    Select any particular document you wish to fix. Press COMMAND-I to open the Get Info window. In the Open With section select the desired Default Application from the dropdown menu. Click on the Change All button to extend the change to all similar documents.
    You can only assign one default application to one type of document.

  • Regarding changing the application settings for Financial management (BPM)

    Hi,
    I have built the sample Comma application in HFM 9.3.1 using the BPM functionality from workspace as outlined in the documentation. The consolidation rules are set to "N" for this application when I open the XML using the window client. Can anyone tell me how I can change this to "Y" through workspace and load the application again. Since its a BPM application it does not allow me to load from window client. How to modify the application properties of a Financial manegement application through workspace (BPM). Any help will be appreciated.
    Thanks in Advance......

    If you extract your application from the web using the extract tasks, check on the Financial Management Application format, this should provide you with a file with an app extension something like this:
    hfmmetada.app
    When you hit extract and then click on 1 Click here to download, then save, on the save as file type button, make sure is .app; then open your app file with a text editor, change the application settings for ConsolidationRules=N to Y.

    thats way too vague of a question... best what?  quality? size? playback?
    best quality then use high bitrate, small size use low bitrate.

  • Can I change the default settings for InfoView?

    Hi,
    I have a Crystal Reports Server 2008 running. The users access their reports via the InfoView web application.
    In this application each user can configure some settings, like whether to use the Acrobat Reader or an ActiveX control for printing. Due to the fact that most users are not experts, is it possible to change the default values for all users by administration?

    It took me a few tries to figure this out, so I thought I would share the steps I took to accomplish this.
    This was successful for InfoView Preferences for a Crystal Reports Server 2008 application (XI 3.1 base).
    1. Download the jsp files here: http://service.sap.com/bosap-supportsw
    Choose BusinessObjects Enterprise > * > Samples >
    "How to set preferences for all users at once in BO XI R2"
    2. Extract the files and rename logon.jsp to setpref.jsp
    3. Copy the downloaded jsp files to your root Infoview webapp folder (where the wars deployed to). We use the default - Tomcat. The Infoview webapp is deployed to C:\Program Files\Business Objects\Tomcat55\webapps\InfoViewApp\ If this is you, copy to here.
    4. From your browser launch http://crystalreportshost:8080/InfoViewApp/setpref.jsp (your infoview link) and follow the instructions!

  • Where can I change the buffer size for LKM File to Oracle (EXTRENAL TABLE)?

    Hi all,
    I'd a problem on the buffer size the "LKM File to Oracle (EXTRENAL TABLE)" as follow:
    2801 : 72000 : java.sql.SQLException: ORA-12801: error signaled in parallel query server P000
    ORA-29913: error in executing ODCIEXTTABLEFETCH callout
    ORA-29400: data cartridge error
    KUP-04020: found record longer than buffer size supported, 524288, in D:\OraHome_1\oracledi\demo\file\PARTIAL_SHPT_FIXED_NHF.dat
    Do you know where can I change the buffer size?
    Remarks: The size of the file is ~2Mb.
    Tao

    Hi,
    The behavior is explained in Bug 4304609 .
    You will encounter ORA-29400 & KUP-04020 errors if the RECORDSIZE clause in the access parameters for the ORACLE_LOADER access driver is larger than 10MB and you are loading records larger than 10MB. Which means their is a another limitation on read size of a record which is termed as granule size. If the default granule size is less then RECORDSIZE it limits the size of the read buffer to granule size.
    Use the pxxtgranule_size parameter to change the size of the granule to a number larger than the size specified for the read buffer.You can use below query to determine the current size of the granule.
    SELECT KSPFTCTXPN PARAMETER_NUMBER,
    KSPPINM PARAMETER_NAME,
    KSPPITY PARAMETER_TYPE,
    KSPFTCTXVL PARAMETER_VALUE,
    KSPFTCTXDF IS_DEFAULT,
    KSPPIFLG MODIFICATION_FLAG,
    KSPFTCTXVF VALUE_FLAG
    FROM X$KSPPI X, X$KSPPCV2 Y
    WHERE (X.INDX+1) = KSPFTCTXPN AND
    KSPPINM LIKE '%_px_xtgranule_size%';
    There is no 'ideal' or recommended value for pxxtgranule_size parameter, it is safe to increase it to work around this particular problem. You can set this parameter using ALTER SESSION/SYSTEM command.
    SQL> alter system set "_px_xtgranule_size"=10000;
    Thanks,

  • Can I change the default settings for Paragraph Rules?

    Hello
    I need to apply the same 'Rule Below' to a lot of separate lines of text in InDesign CS5, but the settings I want differ from the default ones in the Paragraph Rules dialogue box. Is there a way to change the default settings so I can just click Rule On rather than inputting the same information a million and one times?
    Many thanks

    You will need a separate paragraph style for each heading level
    Heading Level 1
    Heading Level 2
    Heading Level 3
    For Heading Level 1 - create a Paragraph Style and set it the way you want.
    For Heading Level 2 - make sure that in General that "Based on: Heading Level 1", this will give it same properties as H1 - but you can change the size of the text and the size paragraph rule to suit.
    For HEading Level 3 - make sure that you set it to Based On: Heading Level 1 (this is vital)
    And do the same for all Sub Heading levels.
    I'd usually assign shortcuts of
    CTRL ALT SHIFT 1 - for H1
    CTRL ALT SHIFT 2 - for H2
    Etc.
    This will ensure consistency across your document.
    Say for example you needed to change the colour or tint of all Paragraph Rules
    CHANGE H1 ONLY - and this will also be applied to H2 H3 H4 etc.  As long as you haven't given different tints/colours to each individual Paragraph Rule in the Styles.

  • Is it possible to change the default settings for the slideshow?

    The default settings for any new slideshow use the dreaded Ken Burns effect and some awful background music from a standard library. Having to turn these things off for every new slideshow I start is driving me nuts. Perhaps preferring no music accompaniment and a static photo on the screen is for some people rather boring - but I would prefer it, at least as a starting point. If anyone can help, I'd be very grateful. Thanks
    MacBook Pro   Mac OS X (10.4.8)   iPhoto 6

    Choose "Export" and then the QuickTime option.
    It will make a 4 track video with a simple "fade" effect between photos. You can set the dimensions and the duration of your photos. You can also remove the music or add your own from your iTunes Library (no purchased music if you intend to share these movies).

  • How can I change the import options for an Excel table in InDesign CS5.5?

    Hi,
    I have a problem with an InDesign script that works this way in ID CS4 and ID CS5, but stops working in ID CS5.5.
    What the script should do, is to change the import preferences for a table saved in an Excel file so that I can place an unformatted table into a new textFrame in my InDesign document. The Excel document is an .xlsx-File.
    function setExcelImportPrefs() {
        with (app.excelImportPreferences) {
             app.excelImportPreferences.tableFormatting = TableFormattingOptions.excelUnformattedTable;
    What the script does (or at least seems to do) is: nothing. The table that is placed into the textFrame by the script is always formatted, as this seems to be the standard preference of InDesign CS5.5 for importing tables out of excel files.
    Does anybody have a hint for me how to make the script work in ID CS5.5?

    Okay, now it is working. I had to save the XLSX-file into the older XLS format, but that seems to work quite well.
    But I won't ever understand why InDesign loses its backward compatibility from one version to the other.
    Thank you, -hans-.

  • Where does one change the default formatting for a URL (href)

    I want to have change the appearance of my href="#" tags so that they are not blue and underlined
    Want to do that with a CSS
    Do not know where to find and change the default setting in DW CS5 so that I make the changes globally
    Could I have different styles of href="#"?
    In the property list under what name is it in?
    Thanks
    erik

    Best practice would be to create an external style sheet and link to it in the <head> like this:
    <link rel="stylesheet" media="all" type="text/css" href="style_sheets/main_styles.css" />
    of course edit for your folder structure and file names.
    But you could test various styles by placing them in the <head> directly, like this:
    <style type="text/css">
    <!--
    a:link {
    color:#ffffff;
    text-decoration: none;
    a:visited {
    color:#ffffff;
    text-decoration: none;
    a:active {
    color:#ffffff;
    text-decoration: none;
    a:link:hover {
    color:#ffffff;
    text-decoration: none;
    a.home:link {
    color:#0099FF;
      text-decoration: none;
    a.home:visited {
    color:#0099FF;
      text-decoration: none;
    a.home:hover {
    color:#0099FF;
      text-decoration: none;
    a.home:active {
    color:#0099FF;
      text-decoration: none;
    -->
    </style>

  • EIM 4.3.1 - Where do you change the default timezone for reports?

    I have noticed when running reports that the default time zone always seems to be -5 Indiana (East). I have changed the business calendars under the departments but it does not seem to make any difference to the reports. Is there some where else this needs to be changed or is this some sort of bug?
    Thanks,
    Matt

    Matt the timezone is coming from the pc where you invoke the report, a saved report can be scheduled to run
    using a specific time zone, at run time or whilst creating a report your locale will be used to populate the time zone.
    Calendars do not drive report time zone and drives workflows and chat entry points. Time zone for logs and other calculation is based on the server time zone.

  • How do I change the default settings for new calendar events?

    So I am relatively new to Mac. I've been using iCal in conjunction with iCloud/iPhone heavily and one thing that I found really annoying is that by default, every new event that I make has two alerts already set. One message and one email message. It's really frustrating to have to go and set both alerts to "None" everytime I make a new event. I primarily use the calendar on my iCloud-synced iPhone to view and keep track of events and the Mac to actually create the events so there's no reason for me to need alerts on the computer. Is there any way to change the preferences so that there is no default alert?

    Look in the menubar, iCal > preferences > General tab > uncheck "Add a defult alert...."

  • Where do I change the time zone for voicemail messages?

    My voicemail messages are on Pacific time but I now live on the east coast.  The phone settings were set at auto and the phone time is correct but the voicemail still time stamps the recorded messages on Pacific time.  Any ideas on how to change the voicemail time to East coast?

    Although I use a free VVM app on my device, when I used to sign into VM my time would be an hour off because my number is based in one time zone but I live one time zone ahead. The MTN (mobile telephone number) is connected to the VM platform, therein your problem. So try to do the math when you get a VM, or use a VVM app on your phone (if you have a smartphone or iPhone).
