Where does time machine store content that would be found in the Finder window under "All Images, All Movies, All Documents"? Also, I have many Garageband projects and mp3 files I can't find.

Easiest way to find time machine files is to open up the folder or application(works for email and iphoto) they were in - then click on time machine ICON or enter time machine from the time machine menu to go back through the files.

Does Time Machine do Back up of Volumes mounted over the Internet?

I mount several volumes on my desktop using the Finder >> go >> Connect to Server command.
Do these get backed up by Time Machine if I do not specifically exclude them?
They are on an XServe with its own Time Machine elsewhere

Well, I'm not sure. As I understand it you would have to have your network managed by a computer running OS X Server. Then a drive shared from that server (properly partitioned and formatted, of course) could be selected as a TM backup drive. Of course you have to mount the share on each computer you want to use that drive for TM backups. Now, this is not something I've ever done, so I may be wrong about it. I've never owned OS X Server.
If those volumes shared from the Server machine are mounted on another computer on the network and you don't want TM to backup the drive on the Server, then you would have to add it to the Exclude list of the client's TM preferences.

Does anyone have corrupt premiere projects and autosave files?

A Premiere CC project that I have been working on for weeks now is corrupt and will not open. I get a message "the project appears to be damagaed". All of the associated autosave files are also now messed up (some are a month old). Everything else on the drive that contains the projects is fine. Even other older Premiere projects are fine. I open the bad autosave projects in notepad and it is filled with jibberish compared to the other uneffected projects. Is this a bug or have I been hacked by the recent Adobe securiy issue? All of my autosave files look like this too. How could all of my auto save files change to this jibberish too? I could understand if a save to my current project goes to left field, but how do all of my autosaves get corrupted too?
I have written out large portions of the project to finished movies, but still have a few I will need to start over from scratch if no one has a solution to my problem here. I would really like to have a chance to go back and re-edit if I see anything I want to touch up in the exported movies I have. Thank God I at least have what I do otherwise it would be a months worth of work down the tube. Has anyone else had this issue, or better yet have a fix?

Thanks Jon, I was not aware of the new zip files for the project files in CC. As Ann had confirmed, the project file was actually intact. I moved all of my assets and the project to another machine and it opened just fine. I still do not know why the project will not open on the other machine. Premier will open and start a new project, but I get an error code if I try to open that project. I did start the project in CS6 and convert it to CC when we upgraded, but a bug there still does not explain why the same project works on one computer but not the other. I will do a better job of asset management next time I work on that computer just in case:)

My macbook pro has 750gb storage but it says it is full with 550gb being "Other" and I can't find anything it could be. There's no way I have this much on my computer. How can I find it?

10.4 MAX OSX Fire Fox, for several months now, constantly is 'Unrepsonsive' and I have to force quit and start it again, can't find an answer on your support section, please help.

I have one or more Tabs open on my Fire Fox Browser, when suddenly, I am not able to do anything. I go to the "Force Quit" command, and find that the word "unresponsive" next to the Fire Fox Browser on the list of what's open on my desktop. Sometimes it happens with Word 2004. So, it could be a computer issue but I have no idea what to do. I don't think it has anything to do with downloading anything but it crashes several times a day.

Afraid I don't understand what you mean by a clean install. There is no such feature to Mac OS X. These are the installation options available:

Where are time machine files kept?

I have a newer MBP and I recently started using Time Machine. The computer is in for repairs, so I am using an older Powerbook G4. I have hooked up my Time Machine backup to the G4 in hopes of finding the files I backed up. Can't find them. Where does Time Machine keep the files it back up. I should ad that I found an alias for the file I am looking for but not the file. The back up is being indexed right now, but I expect it will take a lot of hours to complete.

On the borrowed Mac, right-click the TM icon in the dock and select +*Browse Other Time Machine Backups+* (since you want files from a different Mac's backups). Select your drive, and you should find yourself in the normal "Star Wars" interface. Then you should be able to navigate to the last (or desired) backup and restore items to an alternate location, by selecting and right-clicking them, and selecting the +Restore <item> to ...+ option.

Time Machine doesn't compress anything. It is better to have a destination Time Machine hard drive that is twice the capacity of the source. Compression can lead to data corruption, or unrecoverability because the data compression engine may not have a compatible decompressor at the time of recovery.

I have typically performed manual backups, and have no experience with Time Machine.
Does Time Machine COMPARE / VERIFY that the backup files match the originals?
I used to use Retrospect for Archive/Backup, which logged an alert if there was any mis-match in the backup process. Now I tend to backup files simply using Drag/Drop copying to redundant external storage devices. I have recently encountered errors in this process when backing up larger amounts of data. Hopefully this will not occur using TIme Machine.

Time Machine logs to the system.log as process com.apple.backupd, which you can access via Appplications -> Utilities -> Console
Carbon Copy Cloner logs to a CCC.log which you can access from within CCC, or via Applications -> Utilities -> Console.
CCC will popup and error if there is backup problem.
SuperDuper has its own built-in log, that you access via SuperDuper.
SuperDuper will popup an error if there is a backup problem.
CrashPlan has a /Library/Logs/CrashPlan/ directory with backup logs.
CrashPlan can send you an email if there is a backup problem. Even better, it will tell you if a backup has not completed within the last 3 days. I find that very nice in that automatic backups that stop and you haven't noticed it, is more annoying than not having a backup verification.
I also remember Retrospect. And the verify taking longer than the backup is a good excuse to just make another backup using a different utility and media destination.

Does Time Machine Back Up The Mail Store?

I have been running regular Time Machine backups of the Lion OS X 10.7.4 server that is hosting my mail server. I would like to know if Time Machine is also backing my users' mailboxes? In other words, if that machine crashed, and I had to build another, would I be okay to just simply restore the new server from my Time Machine backup so that users would have all of their messages?

Mail doesn't support notes. If you use iCloud, you have them in it because Notes is an application

Not immediately. When space starts to get tight, Time Machine will start to delete the oldest file(s) to make more room, but this won't occur for some time.

You won't if you choose to restore from a backup that occurred after the date that you deleted the file.
If you absolutely do not want to keep the file in your Time Machine backups at all, you do have the option to go into Time Machine, find the file, and manually delete all versions of the file from past dates.

It backs up everything. If you were to use it with Migration Assistant after a clean install, it should bring everything back. If you have an external drive though, a clone of the existing drive before a major upgrade is always a good idea. That way you could easily go back to exactly what you have now if you had a problem. Carbon Copy Cloner is the best solution for that.
