Where exactly are the comments from my iWeb Site stored?

Anybody know where on my iDisk the user entered comments for my iWeb blog entries are stored? I looked around and couldn't find anything obvious.

Hmm interesting, although I'm not sure I follow the goal of your suggestion. What does appending this to the end of my blog link get me?

Where exactly are the media files kept now?

It used to be simple, the media files were all in the Final Cut Events folders and if you trashed them they were gone.
However, now that I have updated my 10.0.9 projects and events to 10.1, I apparently have identical media files in the "Old Final Cut Projects and Events" folder together with the new Library.
I believe that some of these are symbolic, but which ones?
If I delete something from the "Old Final Cut Projects and Events" folder, will it still be present in the new Library . . . . . and vice versa?
What if I delete both lots?

It's a tricky bit of engineering. If you updated the projects and events and the media was already in the events then the media will appear to be in both plays simultaneously, but only taking the drive space of one. If you delete the old events, the drive space will not go down because the media is still on the hard drive.
Here's the thing, when we say a media file is in a folder, it's not physically in the folder. It's somewhere on your hard drive, wherever there was space when the file was written to the drive. The file structure says they're in a folder or move from folder to folder, but in reality they never move. Only the directory structure changes. That's what's happening here. Both folders, old events, new libraries are pointing to same space on your physical hard drive where the media files are living. Both are holding the media files in their directory. If you delete them both the media will disappear from the directories and that drive space will be freed and eventually get physically overwritten as more stuff is written on the drive.

- The iTunes backup that iTunes makes included photos in the camera roll. If yo go to iTunes>Preferences>Devices what is the date of the backup? Is it when the photos were on the iPod? You have to restore from that backup.
- What may have happened is that you backup the iPod after you restored the iPod but before restoring from backup. iTunes only keeps one backup and overwrites the previous backup with the changes.

The bottom line is that I'll stay away from apple, because they basically make it so the devices control you, and you don't control the devices. I've even jail broken to try and fix this. I need my USB drives to work as they have many folders. Formatting doesn't work, so it is definetly down to the software and it's restrictions.

The camera connection kit is to be used to connect a camera or an SD card and transfer photos/video. You can't fault them for something that happened to work and doesn't any longer. There are drives like the seagate available if you need access to extra storage

SCOM 2012 R2 UR4 upgrade question - where exactly is the UNIX/Linux agent?

I am practicing the UR4 on a test |SCOM environment (my first upgrade) and our UNIX Admins have requested the "UNIX/Linux agent" so they can create packages to upgrade the UNIX/Linux agents when the time comes.
I have downloaded all the UR4 updates/software. Where exactly is the agent for UNIX/Linux machines?
I opened the "Update Rollup 4 for Microsoft System Center 2012 R2 - Operations Manager Agent (KB2992020)" folder and I saw the following agents:
amd64-agent.msp
i386-agent.msp
Are one of these the UNIX/Linux agents?
I know I'm overlooking something here since this is my first time. Any assistance is greatly appreciated.

Hi, first, you should prevent the iTunes library auto sync with iPhone: Launch iTunes > click Preferences... > click Devices. In the window, check the option 'Prevent iPods, iPhones, and iPads from syncing automatically'. Next, connect your iPhone with your computer via the USB cable. I ask because mine is windows format, and im having trouble transferring all the metadata off my ipod with senuti to a back up so that i can reformat the ipod to mac and then sync in my senuti backed up library. I do have it set to manual and i can see the art on the ipod by itself, but even with manual transfer itunes wont let me view the artwork modes unless i am playing off my computers library (which doesn't have the songs on my ipod on it). I called apple earlier today and some tech support guy claimed that itunes does not support this feature. Is this correct? can anyone out there see artwork modes on an unsynced ipod through itunes?

Hope the subject says it all: I have searched but not found a detailed explanation as what the cron scripts (daily, weekly, monthly) actually do, and if the utilities (Onyx, Cocktail, Xupport, etc) are doing exactly the same.
Can someone point to a site or explain?

2) running them yourself with the
sudo periodic daily
sudo periodic weekly
sudo periodic monthly
Terminal commands
(or this one: sudo periodic daily weekly monthly), or
3) leaving your computer running 24/7/365 so that they run automatically,
all three ways do exactly the same thing.
--> To see what they do exactly, the best way is to open Console, and in the /var/log section, look for "daily.out", "weekly.out" and "monthly.out".

In Console, you'll find a lot of different files that grow with more and more information every minute, even every second for some of them.
The three Periodic tasks regularly rearrange them and compresses them so that they don't take too much disk space.
They also rebuild some system database so that the data never gets unusable by the system.

Where exactly is the 8i JVM?

I installed iAS 1.0.1 for NT, and chose the standard edition. This supposedly means that I should have gotten the 8i JVM, among other things.
But where exactly is the VM located? The only copy of java.exe that I can find within the Oracle directory is here:
\oracle\ora81\apache\jdk\bin
But that java.exe doesn't work. If I'm at a command prompt, and go to that directory and type:
java -version
then I get an error message about being unable to find jvm.dll.
I do have a jvm.dll on my system, but it wasn't placed there by Oracle; it's in the Java 1.3 directory that I installed separately. Am I supposed to copy that DLL to the place where Oracle's apache\jdk\bin\java.exe is looking for it?
Or did the Oracle installer fail to install jvm.dll?
Or am I barking up the completely wrong tree, and should I be looking elsewhere for the 8i vm?

The 8i JVM is actually inside the database. You generally won't find a java.exe or jvm.dll which conforms to what you might come to expect when it's outside the database. In doing this, Oracle tried to make it more scalable (each Oracle session, for example, has it's own "virtual" JVM which starts at 4k and grows on demand).
The iAS JVM, on the other hand, is more of what you'd consider a standard JVM. Going forward, there may be some things which iAS will support that the database JVM will not, as the database is really just for plain vanilla classes, rather than J2EE components.

Yes. You can open excel files with comments and add comments using the menu item "Insert > Comment":
Numbers will export a file as excel using the menu item "File > Export > Excel...":
But will not natively save excel files. So if you will be regularly working with a file in both Numbers and Excel you should consider using only one of the programs as the only way to save a document in Numbers is as a Numbers document. Said another way Number can only import and export Excel.

I have the 4 and 5S and other than the finger print reader there's really not much difference in ease of use. In my opinion the finger print reader makes the phone easier, or perhaps I should say nicer to use if you use the passcode lock. Both phones have the same OS version and operate the same way albeit the 5S is faster and smoother. You also get a bit of software eye candy with the 5S thats not on the 4. The camera on the 5S is significantly better than the 4 which I thought was quite good considering its a phone. Or is it a camera with a phone? No matter, there are other small differences but I think you'll appreciate what the 5S has to offer.

IWeb-How can viewers export/capture photos from my iweb sites?

I am working with iweb 08 and created a website for fellow classmates to view old grade and High school pictures with names and want them to be able to export or capture copies of any photograph from my iWeb site for their own use. I want them to have a good quality photo that can be in a size from 5 x 7 to 8 x 10 inches like the originals.

Have been playing with iWeb and I believe that it can do what I want it to - however, I have been struggling yo get it to play ball.
I have a load of large images in my idisk-Public folder, however this is a bit cumbersome to navigate and does not offer the user a preview of the image. What I was hoping to do was to create a small website in iWeb and then place some thumbnails on the pages (with some text etc) and then links to the actual files on the iDisk/Public folder. For information there is about 2GB of files (many of which are 300dpi large PSD files at between 25-50MB each). As such, it would be impossible to embed them in the website and, I don't really want to have to upload all 2BG back to iDisk again in order to get links in the iWeb directory to work.
I was hoping that I could use the hyperlink to a file - but this does not seem to work and it just seems to embed the file into the website. If I go to iDisk/Public and try and point the hyperlink at a specific file - then it seems that everything in the public folder has the same web address (I have a number of sub-folders in the Public directory).
So just for total clarity - what I am trying to do is generate a website in iWeb, place a small JPG or PNG file (thumbnail) and then provide a number of links to a source file either as part of the thumbnail image or with some text next to the image (where the file is available in a number of formats - e.g. PSD, EPS, TIF, etc).
I hope that this makes sense and that someone out there knows how to solve this issue and is kind enough to point me in the right direction - before I pull all of my hair out.
