  • Under "options" in tools, I removed Bing as my search engine. Now, I have no left or right arrows for returning to the preceding page.

I've tried to get Bing back as the search engine, so as to enable the left and right arrows at the top left of the page, but cannot get it back.

ran malawrebytes, it removed a registry key entry for search protect. seems to have solved it. AVG would have search protect as something to be deleted, but didn't seem to fix it. running malawarebytes removed key and seems to be fixed. I don't know if running AVG first is necessary.

  • Left- and right arrow key out of order

    Hi,
I'm afraid to need your help again. My left and right arrow keys doesn't work as they're supposed to. While can neither navigate through my desktop icons nor the buttons in any dialog nor the text I'm just writing. The cursor stops blinking as soon as I press one of these keys so the system recognizes the key press but the cursor doesn't move. Showkey returns the keycodes 105 left and 106 for the right arrow key.
While logging in with LXDM im able to navigate back and foth while entering my password as well as the keys work properly in tty. It seems to be only LXDE, where the keys are not working.
Furthermore my function keys like mute, volume up and down and so on aren't working too. I don't know if both errors are relatet to another.
Maybe anyone has an idea what I might do to fix this?

I think I use lxdm to log in. As soon as I'm logged in, I'm using lxde. Ist this what you have to know?
no, you have to know it.
i meant: when you login with lxdm, do you have a choice between lxde-session and openbox-session (or sth similar) because there's a difference how openbox gets started and which config files are parsed.
It's an lxde-session. And LXDE uses openbox-lxde as displaymanager.

The part of the rc.xml I posted beforehand is the only one in that file that is tagged with <keyboard> and there is no binding for the left or right arrow key. There are some in combination with the control or shift key but that shouldn't do anything regarding my problem.

    Absolutely.
Steff435 wrote:What do you mean with "the text I'm just typing"? You can't move the text cursor in the textbox in your browser using the keys?
    Yes, exactly.
Steff432 wrote:I don't use lxdm, but I guess that doesn't use the default Gtk text entry widget, while most Gtk-based browsers as far as I know do, so it might be related to Gtk in some way. Or do you use a Qt browser? Have you tried the keys in non-Gtk software?
I use firefox which is, as far as I know, Gtk-based. But I installed QupZilla and gabe it a try. Unfortunatelly the same error shows up there.
I don't know if I'm right but lxde should be gtk-based itself and running a non-Gtk software in gtk-based lxde would show up the same gtk-errors to, wouldn't it? So eventually I'd have to try a non-Gtk software in a non-Gtk desktop environment in order to check whether the error doesn't show up under non-gtk software?

  • Left and right arrow keys don't move frame by frame in a multicam sequence

Since installing 8.2.0, the left and right arrow keys stop working in multicam sequences. I hear one frame of sound when pressing the left or right arrow, but no frame-by-frame. In the viewer or non-multicam sequences, they seem to behave normally.
    Any ideas?
    Computer--Mac Pro 2013, Yosemite 10.10.1, 32 GB, 6 core

What little there is in this topic: 9.0 iTunes played Football Podcast frame by frame both forward and backwards for detailed viewing. When they upgraded to 10.0 the keyboard freatured was changed and not replaced. the arrow keys now move you to the next video or the previous video. Command (open Appple) moves you ..like 3 to 4 frames ahead. This is stupid and I have to play my podcast videos in Realplayer to use their arrow keys. This is just one more level for playerts to scrfew up on when viewing themselves. THE Can someone actually ask Apple to put it back as a key board feature. It can not even be scripted, but I'm game to hear your advice.

  • Why after i update my left and right arrow keys stop working

my left and right arrow keys stoped working after i updated to Mavericks now the dont work

    Hello ccombs2014,
It sounds like 2 of your keys are not working after updating to Mavericks. I found this section of an article for you to help troubleshoot this issue named:
One or more keys on the keyboard do not respond
    http://support.apple.com/kb/ts1381
Some keys don't work as expected
From the Apple menu, choose System Preferences.
From the View menu, choose Speech.
Click the Text to Speech tab.
If "Speak selected text when the key is pressed" is enabled, the key or key combination set to speak text cannot be used for other purposes or used to type text--click Set Key and change it to a less-commonly used key combination (try to use modifier keys such as Shift, Command, Option, and Control). Or, disable the "Speak selected text when the key is pressed" option.
Click the Universal Access pane in System Preferences, click the Keyboard tab.
Make sure that Slow Keys is turned off. With Slow Keys on, you need to press a key for a longer period of time for it to be recognized.
In the Universal Access pane, click the Mouse tab, and make sure Mouse Keys is turned off. With Mouse Keys enabled, you cannot use the Numeric Keypad to enter numbers--instead the keypad moves the pointer (cursor). (There is an option to enable Mouse Keys with five presses of the Option key; you may want to turn that option off to avoid accidentally enabling it.) If Mouse Keys is enabled and you are using a keyboard with no numeric keypad or Num Lock function, see Unable to type while Mouse Keys is enabled in Mac OS X.
If the function keys on the top row of the keyboard are not working as expected, see Mac OS X: How to change the behavior of function keys.
If the issue persists, use Keyboard Viewer to help isolate the issue:
Click the Language & Text pane (Mac OS X v10.6) or International pane (Mac OS X v10.5.8 or earlier) in System Preferences.
Click the Input Sources tab (or Input Menu tab in Mac OS X 10.5.8 or earlier).
Click the Keyboard & Character Viewer "On" checkbox to select it (click the Keyboard Viewer "On" checkbox in Mac OS X 10.5.8 or earlier).
From the Input (flag) menu, choose Show Keyboard Viewer.
If the keyboard is connected and detected by Mac OS X, the keys you type will highlight in the Keyboard Viewer window. Open TextEdit (or any text application), and try to type something using the keys that were previously not responding to see if they highlight in Keyboard Viewer.
Start from the Mac OS X Install Disc, choose Terminal from the Utilities menu and test the keys which were previously not working.  If the keys work while started from the Install disc, then the keyboard itself is working correctly.  Use Mac OS X: How to troubleshoot a software issue to isolate the software issue that may be causing the keys to not respond.
Thank you for using Apple Support Communities.
    All the best,
    Sterling

  • Move to previous or next magnified photo     Press Left Arrow and Right Arrow keys does not work

Move to previous or next magnified photo
Press Left Arrow and Right Arrow keys
This command no longer works in iPhoto. The photo just bounces for a moment, then all the photos begin scrolling. I used to be able to just hit the key to scroll one at a time.

What version of iPhoto and system are you running?  What mode are you in, edit, full view, full screen, ???

Hi, While writing an email online using Firefox 3.6.3, I was using one of the "CTRL+left or right arrow" to move the cursor along the text. I must have pressed some other key because the display has become huge - and I can't scroll vertically or horizontally, which makes using the Mail pages of Hotmail impossible. I have since logged in using MSFT Explorer and it works fine. This problem occurs only on the Mail page of Hotmail Live not on the home page or others.
Could you please let me know if this is a problem with Firefox, or if you have any advice on how to reset the appearance of Hotmail in Firefox?
    == This happened ==
    Just once or twice
== While I was compiling an email in Hotmail Live

Wow, lightning fast and absolutely right!
    Thank you so much!

  • CS6: No more Left and right arrow in the timeline

    Hi everyone,
Adobe removed the left and right arrows in the timeline. I don't understand why because it was a functionnality that I was finding very convenient when comes the time you have to move accurately in a zoomed timeline. The moving bar doesn't work very well in this kind of situation.
Do you now if there is a convenient way to do the same wihtout these left and right arrows ?
    Thanks

If you are referring to these arrows in the CS5 interface:
They have been removed in CS6:
    note:
If you're new to CS6 from CS5, just wait until you try to select
a transition vs. a cut point in the Timeline.

I have set up my airprint wifi printer which works perfectly with the HP eprint app. However, when i view an email and click on the top right arrow button and select "PRINT" on my ipad nothing happens????...
Also, when im viewing websites and i find something i wish to print, same again, if i simply click on the print option at the top right of the screen nothing happens... the only way I can print is if i copy the weblink of the site page then click on my HP eprint app and paste the web link, then select print, it prints off fine.. but its it such a pain to keep copying and pasting links or screen dumping emails just to print...

Just to recap, this is a collection of ports I have collected over time for people who needed this information when setting up the HP ePrint app so that they could view their email from within the app.  I am certain other applications also need this information.  Although lengthy, I could not find a more comprehensive place to retrieve this information.  Feel free to post additional information, faulty information, or other related topics below as this is simply a collection of data and it would be practically impossible to test all of them. Thank you!
Don't forgot to say thanks by giving "Kudos" if I helped solve your problem.

  • Will Apple ever put left and right arrows on the iOS keyboard?

Sometimes when I want to go back and fix a typing mistake or to copy certain words, it is a hassle to select the intended area. So I think it would be great if there were left and right arrow keys, or something like holding down one of the existing keys and moving to the left and right to move the cursor. I think that the space bar could work for that, maybe something like holding down the shift(up arrow) key and sliding left and right on the space bar.

  • Using left and right arrow keys as accesskeys

I am trying to remediate an online course and need to apply left arrow key to next button (advance to next page) and right arrow key to back button (return to previous page). Does anyone have javascript code that would allow this?

This is already built into major browsers.  This assumes the browser history folder contains more than one page. If the browser's history folder is empty, nothing will happen.
    For Windows users:
Alt+Left arrow = back one page.
Alt+Right arrow = forward one page.

keyboard how (1) do you add the script ie, on the timeline etc (2)

so could you please make it as easy as possible to understand. Any
help would be great thank you.

You want to create a keyDown script in a movie script window.
You can get the keycodes for the arrow keys here:
    http://kb.adobe.com/selfservice/viewContent.do?externalId=tn_15887
Do a search in the Lingo forum for more info on writing a
keydown script. There are many examples to choose from.

  • My left and right arrow keys are not working

I am having problems with my left and right arrow keys no longer working. I have tried restarting, running Mac hardware check, and nothing has come up. I haven't spilled anything on it, so I don't know why they have stopped working.

Sorry I didn't get to this thread sooner. From your posts it actually sounds like you may have a defective keyboard. Going to the nearest Apple store for assistance is a good idea. Be sure to [make an appointment|http://www.apple.com/retail] first or you may have to wait a long time to talk to a Mac Genius.
    Best of luck.
