Where is crystal reports?

We have SAP Business One and Crystal Reports 2008.  I install the Crystal reporting modules with the SAP client.  My only question is, where is it?  There's nothing on the start menu for it and the only thing under SAP is SAP.  Where's the Crystal Reports designer?
Thanks!

You need to download this separately from the SAP download centre. One free install per site....
You will find it as Crystal Reports 2008 for SAP Business One

  • KBase ID 344488: Logon failed when connecting to universe in Crystal Report

My question is related to  [KBase Article ID:344488|http://technicalsupport.businessobjects.com/KanisaSupportSite/search.do?cmd=displayKC&docType=kc&externalId=344488&sliceId=&dialogID=24618166&stateId=1%200%2024614949]
Article refers to: Crystal Reports XI
    Symptom
When attempting to create a connection to a universe in Crystal Reports, after clicking OK in the Database Expert Query Panel, the following error message appears:  "Logon failed".
The query is not generated. In the Universe folder of Database Expert, the following message appears: "u2026no items found".
I'm running BOE XI and Crystal Report XI R2 with MS SQL Server 2005 using ODBC.
The resolution psoted in the KBase Article ID:344488 does not resolve the issue in my case.  Does anyone have any ideas on what to look at next?

    Hello Donald,
I'll describe the process flow when Crystal Report reports off of a Universe, in hopes the info will help narrow down your issue.
When you create a Crystal Report and open an Universe, it connects to the Enterprise system and uses a Report Server on Enterprise to generate the SQL Statement.   After you create the Query in the Query Panel, and add the Query to the report, the SQL Statement is sent to the Crystal Report Designer.
The Crystal Report Designer makes a local connection to the database and sends the SQL Statement to retrieve data.
You're using ODBC connectivity.  If the defined ODBC isn't identical between the server where the Report Server is running, and the client where the Crystal Report Designer is running, then you'd get the Logon failed error.
Other than checking the drivers, I'd recommend that the ODBC connection on both server and client point to the same database, and allow use of the same database logon credentials.

  • Best practice for infoview and which folder to save webi or crystal reports

    All,
I was wondering what are your thought about the following question.Imagine you have a customer using at the same time webi reports and also crystal reports against BW.
The thing is that he is transporting the crystal report thru SAP using the rsadmin transaction to manage his crystal reports, but also use the SAP transport to move them to PROD .As far as webi, he is using the import wizard to move them to PROD. \
As you know the crystal reports will end up into an SAP folder .. something that is such as SAP/(description of the menu role).
Well webi reports happen to be inside the public folder.
The question was .. what would be the best practice
1 u2013 store all your crystal reports against BW in the SAP menu roles as it is ending up thru the SAP transport and have the webi reports inside the public folder ?
2 u2013 Copy your webi reports from the public folder to the SAP /Menu role folder where my crystal reports are ?
3 u2013 copy your crystal reports from the SAP/(menu role folder) to the Public folder ?
Let me know what is your feeling as best practice
    Thank you
    Philippe

    Just a hint:
The path SAP/2.0 is not mandatory. You can configure the SAP BW publisher on the BW side (transaction /CRYSTAL/RPTADMIN) so that your reports will be stored in another folder on the BOE side. Please note that the addition of the role name in the path cannot be overrided.

  • Crystal Report For True 64 bit Mode

    Hi,
We Have a ASP.Net Web Application with .Net Framework 4.0, Build in VS2010.
We are using Crystal Report for VS2010, Version :  CRforVS_13_0_5 .
In our web Application, we have a Separate Project for Crystal Report.
Currently, I install Crystal Report in 32 bit machine and deploy the 64 bit machine using "CRRuntime_64bit_13_0_5.msi".
where the Crystal Report Project/dll/Process is running in 64 bit machine in 32 bit Mode.
    But,
I want to compile Crystal Report Project project in native 64 bit mode and deploy it on a 64 bit machine,
So that it will run in true 64 bit mode as 64 bit Process in 64 Bit platform.
I don't want to run it as 32 bit process in 64 bit platform .
How it is possible, Please Suggest.
    Thanks & Regards,

    As simple as it gets..
Compile the application by setting the target platform of the app to X64 on dev machine.
Deploy the app on a 64 bit machine. Configure the IIS app pool to run the app in 64 bit mode.
Download and install CR for VS 2010 64 bit MSI on the server.. (for erspective SP).

  • Setting the number of copies to be printed through crystal reports?

I posted this in another section and got redirected to this one.
So I'm working with some software that utilizes Crystal Reports 10, and am looking for a method where through Crystal Reports I can take a user entered parameter value and set that as the number of copies for the printer to print. This isn't an option in Crystal Reports itself, so I understand I may need to dig a little deeper and write some customization to accomplish this.
I've been building Crystal Reports for about two years now, all self taught, but have never had to go this far, where/how would I start on this? And I tried searching for a similar question in these forums to see if it's come up before but couldn't find anything. I'm kind of stuck at the moment because I can't alter the software that's using Crystal Reports to set number of copies, so I want to see if I can do anything in Crystal.

Really, this is actually more of a report design question, though I understand why they's ask you to post here also.
Anyhow, I think what you are asking is; can I design a report such that it will internally hold how many copies it should print(?).
    Answer to that is no.
Only way to do multiple copies would be to modify the app you are working with. E.g.; go to the authors of the app and ask them for an enhancement to their product so that you can print multiple copies.

  • Crystal Reports Licensing

I have a question about the various versions of Crystal Reports developer.
We have a product that uses an older version of Crystal Reports (8.5) and our product will be updating to use Crystal Reports XI, however we have customers that want to create there own reports for use with our product.
So far not a problem except if our customer wants to purchase a license to use the Crystal Reports 8.5 tools or the Crystal Reports XI tools.
I have told the customer to purchase a licensed copy of Crystal Reports and they did, however since they did this recently (within the last two weeks) they received the Crystal Reports 2008 product.
My question is how can I let our customer design custom reports in the older version?
Can they use an older version tool to do this if they have paid for a proper license in the current version?
If so, what do I do to allow them to have the tools.
We are going to run into this for a while until our developers also start using the Crystal Reports 2008 SDK and such to upgrade our product to the latest.
We have the older tools and proper licensing for them, but our customers can no longer purchase them.
I do not want to do any thing illegal, but I need to have customers that can design their own reports.
    Thanks.

    No, it does not help.
Maybe it was my problem in the way I described the question.
My company has custom applications where the Crystal Reports dll's have been distributed for Crystal 8.5 and the reports that these custom applications use were designed in Crystal 8.5.
We have licensed copies of this product.
Our customers want to design with Crystal 8.5 for compatible report file support. (We make them.)
But they cannot buy the same version product.
We make them buy the latest product your company sells, so that you get revenue from us distributing our application, but they cannot use the latest product and save it in a backward mode to make it work with our custom application.
Only reports made with the Crystal 8.5 product work.
So if they have purchased Crystal Reports 2008.
Can we give them Crystal Reports 8.5 to use until we update the custom application(s) (about thirty) to use the SDK for Crystal Reports 2008?
The same goes with Crystal Reports XI. We have licenses for this product for our development.
We have upgraded our applications to use this newer version, but have not been able to distribute them yet to all our customers.
We will be doing this soon, but we are already behind again because Crystal Reports XI is no longer sold.
It is ok that you don't sell the older product. We understand why.
Our customers have purchased Crystal Reports 2008 because that is what is available.
Even our newest package uses your design product that you no longer sell (Crystal Reports XI).
My company needs to have permission for our customers to use the older product until our development can catch up to use your latest product, but only if our customer purchases your latest product.
My company does not want to do anything illegal and we also want our customers to be able to create their own reports with one or both of your older products until we catch up to your latest product.
We will always require them to buy your latest product no matter if they will use it yet or not. We also suggest that they upgrade this license or licenses as your products change.
We will not let them make custom reports without buying your latest product first. That is our requirement and they accept this.
What do we need to do to allow our customers to install and use the older product?
    Thanks.

  • CRVS2010 Beta - Crystal Reports System.ArgumentNullException was unhan

I am trying to publish my first Windows WFP application.  Everything works fine on my development machine, but when it gets to the point where the Crystal Reports viewer loads the Report Layout, the computer I have installed it on throws a error and stops.
I have defined my report file locations as (I have tried both options, and both work on my development system) :
Dim strReportName As String = "ExceptionRpt"
    Dim strReportPath As String = "C:\Users\john\documents\visual studio 2010\Projects\StatusReportsCRWPF\StatusReportsCRWPF" & "\ExceptionReports\" & strReportName & ".rpt"
Dim strReportPath As String = "
    files\data\john\CrystalRpts\ExceptionReports\" & strReportName & ".rpt"
Dim report As ExcpReport = New ExcpReport
Dim DS As DataSet = New DataSet
Dim strLoadDS As String = "Select * from StatusException"
    Dim cmdLoadDS As New SqlCommand(strLoadDS)
Dim dtLoadDS As DataTable = GetDataPL(cmdLoadDS)
    DS.Tables.Add(dtLoadDS)
    ReportsViewer.ShowRefreshButton = True
    ReportsViewer.ViewerCore.DataContext = DS.Tables(0)
(Placed to find the fine that errors out)
MsgBox("Just Before the Crystal Report Viewer Activation " + strReportPath, MsgBoxStyle.Question)
    ReportsViewer.ViewerCore.ReportSource = strReportPath
Any help in correcting this problem would be greatly appreciated

I do not believe you will be able to deploy this app. There is no CR 2010 runtime that would support WPF available. The only runtime is based on CR 2008 redirect (lots of info on that in these forums).

  • I can't find Crystal report on SAP 8.8 menu bar ?

I am trying SAP 8.8 demo. Where is Crystal report on SAP 8.8 ? I can't find Crystal report on SAP 8.8 menu bar ? anybody told me location of crystal report on menu bar ?

    Hi,
There is no option anywhere in SBO8.8 as "Crystal report" if you want to use it go to windows start ->program files->SAP Business One you can see there Crystal Report 2008 menu. Once you designed your report in Crystal then you can import it in SBO 8.8 through "Report and Layout Manager" in Administration -> Setup -> General. You can not open Crystal directly from SBO.

  • Where is the Manage Object function in Crystal Reports 2013 for the CMC?

I recently upgraded to Crystal Reports 2013 after upgrading our Crystal Reports server to SAP Business Objects Platform 4.1. Before the upgrade, I could publish reports from Crystal Reports XI to the CMC then right-click on the report title in the Repository Explorer (in Crystal Reports) and I had the option to select Manage Object where I could set the default settings for the CMC. I am not seeing this option in the new version of Crystal Reports. Is there something I need to do to see this option or has this option been removed from Crystal Reports 2013?

    Hi Kelley,
You're right, the option doesn't exist in CR XI R2 and above.
All the options now need to be set in CMC.

  • Where are release notes for Crystal Reports 2011 SP10?

We've recently moved from Windows XP with an older release of Crystal to Windows 7 (64 bit) with Crystal Reports 2011.  Where can you find what issues have been fixed?  Despite finding a link with the text "Support and Feature Pack Release Notes" on the web page SAP Crystal Reports 2011 – SAP Help Portal Page, the document is for SP5.  Where can you find issues known and fixed in each of the service packs (and known and not fixed)?  I also looked at Analytics Knowledge Center and picked Crystal Reports and 2011 and the only release notes other than the initial release is for a FP3, which as near as I can tell is nowhere to be downloaded so I assume the SP1 replaced that...

    Hi Eddie,
Release notes for SP10 are only available on the Service Market Place.
If you have an S-user ID, you may have a look at the document here.

  • Where do you create a Selection Criteria TOKEN? (Crystal Reports, SAP B1)

I have downloaded "How to Work with Crystal Reports in SAP Business One" and read where it mentions "tokens" (starting on page 19).  I followed the directions and created a New Parameter in a Crystal Report with the name of
BPCode@Select distinct CardCode from OCRD where CardType = "C"
as directed on page 21 as an example of a token.  OK, so now I have a parameter with a very long name that doesn't do anything when I run the report in standalone Crystal Reports connected to our SAP B1 application.
At what place in the "Create New Parameter" dialog box in Crystal Reports do you actually enter this information?  Nothing in that dialog box seems appropriate for SQL expressions.  Reading through SCN threads, I could not find anything that addressed this simple question.  What am I missing?
NOTE: I do NOT have the CR Add-In available to me in SAP B1.  I cannot get it to install.  All of my work is done in standalone Crystal Reports and all reports are then imported from there.  I am a CR developer with less than 1 month experience with SAP B1.
    Thanks.

OK, so I imported an .rpt file as a "report" instead of as a layout and placed it in a known module location (though the options were extremely limited).  I had no idea where to go to run the report, but under "Modules", "Reports", and the location I just imported to, I found and chose the report.
The next step was a dialog box with two blank prompts and a third blank prompt asking for a particular field value from a table in the report.  The actual Crystal report has only two parameters (good ol' DocKey@ and ObjectID@).  I have to actually look at a known document in B1 and enter the values for the parameters before I get an actual result.
    Now, more questions...
If there is a token in this report process, where is it?
Why would I run a report this way when it's going to ask me the DocEntry and ObjectId numbers which are not known to me unless I do research (Actually, what you don't know is that all of the reports I've created are revisions to marketing documents, so I haven't created anything new or unique to B1 that would involve complex analysis).
I spend almost two hours a day scouring the SCN to figure this stuff out and am still lost.  I haven't read anything anywhere that describes this process in an adequate fashion.  If SAP makes BOTH B1 and Crystal Reports, why not make the connection between them seamless and user-friendly?
Gordon, if you're listening, you'd probably do well writing another book on this subject!!
