Where is jre in database tier 10.2.0.5.

Hi,
I have successfully upgraded the 11.5.10.2 with 9.2.0.6 to R12 with 10.2.0.5. Now i am doing post installation steps.
I have created appsutil.zip and copied it to the database tier. Now i am building the context file for database tier.
$perl adbldxml.pl [It throws the following error]
Starting context file generation for db tier..
JRE_TOP not found at its desired location /data/clonedb/10.2.0/appsutil/jre
Restart adbldxml.pl with value for jtop as an necessary argument
But in appsutil i can not find jre.
I am referring to R12 Oracle Application upgrade guide page no: 3-9. This about jre.
1. Do i need to install jre.???
2. I have old copy of appsutil that came with the installation. But jre folder is in $ORACLE_HOME.

I have checked the file version of env. file it is

So i was saying old [11.5.10.2] env file.

I think missed some steps . so I followed note ID 165195.1 Section 8: Migrating to AutoConfig on the Database Tier . after I fiinised all section 8 , I did not find $ORACLE_HOME/appsutil/clone directory . I can only find adcfgclone.pl in $ORACLE_HOME/appsutil/template . Do I miss some steps ?
Actually, I want to run perl adcfgclone.pl dbTechStack to clone db tier . Please help .

Application tier on
Windows Server 2008 (32 bit)
Below are the step we are going to flow .
Download the EBS 12.1.1.
Apply Patch 8639046 to have the Rapid Install wizard to 12.1.1.11 for Windows Server 2008.
Install EBS 12.1.1 on database tier using Rapid install.
Install EBS 12.1.1 on Application tier using Rapid install.
Use Auto Patch to apply R12.AD.B.DELTA.3 Patch 9239089
Use Auto Patch to apply Oracle E-Business Suite Release 12.1.3 Patch 9239090

If the JDE schema is required, then export it from the current database you have, delete the database, install the 12.1.1 database, then create the schema in this new database and perform an import.

E-Business Suite Database Tier cloning failure

Hi All,
We are cloning a new Oracle E-Business Suite test instance from the cold backup of our production. Production is single instance/archive log enabled. However, the target instance is single instance/no archive log. the DB version is 11.1.0.7
When i am running adcfgclone.pl on the database tier, it errors out with the following.

I tried to recover the above datafile.
SQL> recover database using backup controlfile until cancel;
ORA-00283: recovery session canceled due to errors
ORA-00600: internal error code, arguments: [kcvhvdf_1], [], [], [], [], [], [],
I tried another cold backup(we take cold backups every night) but facing the same issue with another backup also. That's why i think its not an issue with system.dbf file being corrupt.
when i searched metalink for ORA-600 with kcvhvdf_1, i found that it is a bug in 11.1.0.7. bug 9314439.
the bug says:
The problem is that when the datafiles have zero DB ID=0=0x0, the 'create controlfile set database' command is not setting the new DB ID in the datafile headers but only in the controlfile. It then causes the ORA-600 [kcvhvdf_1] to be produced in the recovery due to DB ID mismatch between datafiles (select FHDBI from x$kcvfh) and controlfile (select DBID from v$database).
I verified the above statement and found it true.

The bug states a work around:
If using a cold backup (after a clean shutdown - NORMAL/IMMEDIATE), one workaround is to open the database right after the create controlfile (with no previous recover):
CREATE CONTROLFILE SET DATABASE "DEV2" RESETLOGS ARCHIVELOG ...
alter database open resetlogs;
However, this workaround is not working for me.
Kindly help. Its urgent.

You're realistically going to need to get your customer to provide the media.
If you are not an Oracle customer, Oracle isn't going to provide you media for long desupported versions of the database. Presumably, you are using the customer's Oracle license in order to do the development, right? Assuming the customer is properly licensed, they should have a support identifier and should be able to request the media on your behalf (though there may be odd legal issues because it's Iran). If neither you nor your customer is a licensed Oracle customer, you're definitely out of luck...

How Middle Tier connect to Database Tier?

Desktop tier never directly interact with Database tier. It is the Application tier which is also called Middle tier that connect to Database tier to fullfill the end user request.
My question is how Application tier interact with Database tier under the hood?
I know Middle tier consist of Forms Server, Report Server, Concurrent Server, Web Server, Administration Server.
Let's say I want to know how Concurrent Server connects to Database tier? which file or connection does it use?
Similery how does Forms Server, Reports Server, Web Server interact?
Any overall/broad picture of this whole structure?

Simple JRE question, where is jre 6?

I've spent a long time with a bad version number problem. Many, many forum posts and even FAQ information tells me that I'm compiling with a more recent version than I'm running. So here it is:
javac -version
1.6.0
java -version
1.5.0_11
Now I want my java environment running in the best way. So I'd rather not use a workaround like javac -version:<value>
I've downloaded what is labeled jre 6 from the Sun website more than once. But it keeps coming up 1.5

Where is jre 6? Is it (still possibly) me that's causing this problem, or is jre 1.6 not actually available from Sun?

I have a problem with 5.5 and 6.0 tomcat not start with the latest version of java jre1.6.0_03 but works only with the jre1.5.0! The reason that I cause this problem?

How adbldxml.pl creates the new database tier context file

We just completed database upgrade from 9.2.0.6 to 9.2.0.8 to 11gR2 for 11.5.10.2 financial (on Windows 2003).
Application seems working fine after upgrade, autoconfig on application and database tiers are all success, but I have an issue with adbldxml.pl.
I have tried to run adbldxml.pl after upgrade, I can not sync the <s_perl5lib> and <s_adperlprg> oa_var on context it created with oa_var I read from OAM.
On OAM PROD > AutoConfig > Environments > oa_environment:db_home, it read as,
<s_adperlprg>D:\oracle\proddb\11.2.0\perl\bin\perl.exe
<s_perl5lib>D:\oracle\proddb\11.2.0\perl\lib\site_perl\5.10.0;D:\oracle\proddb\11.2.0\appsutil\perl
but the db context file created by adbldxml.pl read as,

By my understanding, adbldxml.pl should take shell (DB DOS) evn perl settings to create context file, but it never takes env settings.
I was wondering how does adbldxml.pl works? does it creates a context file by reading from database or take some templates or may be both? and eventually, how to solve the issue.

I did apply the TXK AUTOCONFIG AND TEMPLATES ROLLUP PATCH U (9535311), it was a success from adpatch.
I did apply the clone patches per Cloning Oracle Application Release 11i with Rapid Clone [ID 230672.1] 5. Apply the lastest Rapid Clone patches
I have completed a rapid clone into a test server and ran clone scripts on app tier and db tier, the cloned application works fine as I can tell.
I have tried (Autoconfig FAQ [ID 218089.1]), "I was instructed to change the value of the context variables s_adperlprg and s_perl5lib. How can I achieve that?"
on the test server by setting perl5lib to the location it should be, but I ran adautocfg.pl instead of adconfig.pl, did it make difference? my understanding that adautocfg.pl
will call adconfig.pl, are they interchangeable?
Can I run adconfig.pl with context=<the correct context file> will make difference?
adbldxml.pl is really stubborn, just won't bend.
Would you mind advice me which table(s) in database contains these variables, I understand that it is not a good idea to modify the data in database directly, just curious?

Where clause for polling database Adapter

I am creating a database adapter that polls a table for documents that are more than a month old based on a last updated field. For My where clause in the select statement I would like to have something like:
where last_updated_date < add_months(sysdate, -1)
but the where clause wizard will only allow me to use field names or literals. Any suggestions?

Urgent: "where" clause for polling database Adapter

I am creating a database Polling (logical delete OPEN to CLOSED) adapter that polls a table for records which have a "SCHEDULED" date field.
The Polling Adapter should pick up those records where the status is OPEN and SCHEDULED<=SYSDATE.
DB Adapter wizard does not allows this where clause(SCHEDULED<=SYSDATE) to be set; so i tried modifying the Toplink SQL with custom SQL. But it does not works. Please suggest a workaround.

Where to learn about database tuning from?

Hello,
I need to learn more about database tuning - practical aspect. Are there any sites/services that could help me? I can't use production environment of course, I need to prepare my own ones (Oracle DBs on linux and windows too) and workload too. How to simulate workload from many users?

How do you learn to paint? You can read every book on the subject, attend lectures by famous artists on paints and brushes and styles and what not..
None of this will turn you into an artist that can paint. Theory only goes that far.
And this is as true in performance tuning as in painting. You need to run into that brick wall called experience over and over again - and each time learn hard lessons that no theory can ever teach.
If performance tuning was that easy, we would have had fully automated tuning software in operating systems and database systems that could detect and fix all our performance woes on the fly.
Does not work like that.
Also, performance tuning is many times seen as an "after the fact" thing. Design the system. Code the software. Implement it. Then tune it.
Wrong. Also does not work like that.
Performance tuning begins at the very first workshop when brainstorming the basic design of the system. If performance and scalability are not part of that process, they cannot easily (if at all) be made to be part of the final system as a tuning exercise.
If I need to pass a single fundamental "uber-alles" principle for performance tuning - when dealing with it after the fact (as many of us do), then it is:
Identify The Problem
Do not confuse symptoms as the actual problem.
PS. Performance tuning is also many time (IMO) a situation where you have lost. Why? Because of if the code was designed and coded correctly, then there would not have been a performance issue. If the Oracle architecture was understood correctly, there would not be a problem. Which makes the advice by the other 2 posters so important. Understand Oracle. Understand how to design and code in Oracle. If done well, what is there left to performance tune?

Where is the kerberos database stored? Why doesn't kadmin -l dump work?

I'm trying to figure out where exactly OS X Server stores the passwords when using Open Directory. Is it in LDAP? Is it the authAuthority attribute that's in LDAP? I don't know a whole lot about Kerberos and I was trying to figure it out and I can't seem to get this question answered. There is such a void of documentation concerning Open Directory. Do you think Apple intends on killing it some day?
And `kadmin -l dump` says "kadmin: hdb_foreach: iteration over database only supported for DSLocal". Does anyone know how to dump the database?

If you go into Server and select Open Directory, one option is to "Archive Open Directory Master..."

When I Import EBS12.1.3 Database Tier Template files,Error has happened

I download the template of EBS12.1.3 to install.
I unzip the .zip files, cat into app.tgz and db.tgz files.
The app.tgz has imported into the VM server.
But when i inport the db.tgz files into my VM server , an error has happened.

My VM Manager is "Oracle VM Manager 3.2.2",
VM Server is "Oracle VM Server 3.2.2 for x86_64 (64 bit)",
and EBS is "Oracle VM Templates for Oracle E-Business Suite Release 12.1.3 Vision Media Pack for x86 (64 bit)".
I install didn't follow the README, because the step 2.4 has error.
command “cat ... | tar -xz” has error "gzip: stdin: unexpected end of file",
and only ebs12xx.img and vm.cfg has getted, system.img and README.txt cann't getted.

Concatinate and extract the .tgz files. This step creates a directory
with the name of the template, containing all the files for the

So i merge the files into a .tgz file with command "tar xxx.tgz.0 xxx.tgz.1 xxx.tgz.2 > xxx.tgz".
Then in VMManager import the xxx.tgz into VMServer with ftpserver.
Application Tier has imported, but when importing DB Tier, the error has happend .

Where is jre in database tier 10.2.0.5.
