Where is the flash.filesystem package??

The documentation here states there is a flash.filesystem
package that I could use to open a text file and read in data:

How do you I get to that package? I can't find it anywhere
and the documentation is the worst i've seen to date. This really
blows. Whose Q&A-ing this stuff? No comments, nothing.
Everyone seems to be using it but I can't tell how to get
access to it and no one else tells you how either. I must be a
moron.
Can someone help?

Imporing mx.flash.filesystem package

Hi,
I am using Flex Builder 3 for development. I want to import mx.flash.filesystem.File package to write a file.
I am unable to find this package in available packages list ? How to resolve this issue ?
Do I need to add any library to my build path ? Please help me to resolve this issue.

You can't directly write to a file on the server. You need to use HTTPService to transfer the new XML data (or better to transfer as JSON data), and write to XML file from PHP script or some other server-side technology.

Where are the standard java packages io,util etc found in JRE

hello,
can u guys tell me where the standard java packages io,util found in the JRE.
is it the rt.jar file??
as i need to set the path in my applicaion to it coz, my application after running generates a .java file and then compiles it and creates a .class file on the local machine every time it is run.

You want the <JRE Home>\bin directory as your path if you use the JRE to run the class. Eyeball the SDK bin directory, find the same directory in the JRE structure, and set your PATH to it.

Where on the web site can I find a release date for a Flash Playerversion that will work with Internet Explorer 10 64bit in Windows 7 64bit?

Where is the Flash program available - not the installer - the program?

For a week now, when trying to install Flash, a veritible necxessity these days like it or not, the program that I downbload that downloads the installler that will download and install Flash times-out on this computer Vista 64, a Vista 32, a Windoze 7, and a XP machine. I read and followed all oif the stuyff that blames the client. Now, will Adobe fix their end?
Or, provide a linlk to the actuall file that is the Flash program, not a downloader to download a installer to download the Flash program! Obviously, when Adobe times-out on a brand new fresh install of Vista 64, and new computer with 7 - it is not likely the client.
Oh yes, I had my ISP check, and the modem and router, and plugged directly in to mode bypassing router. Same time-out and, same stupid 'Here is why it's your fault client' messages.
Why not let some download sites, like Cnet, or Brothersoft or others store it there where can get it?
Half the work I do needs my browser to use flash. Maybe renaming the insaller to adobe_flop_version26445375483445389209.exe might help?
A good program doesn't need to be upgraded, updated or foxed once or twice a week.
I hope Googoyle can find a Flash alternative.

I'm just playing around with the new Flash Builder 4. There are quite a bit of differences and new functionaliteit compared to the previous version.
I can only find some articles and videos. Where is the documentation and API docs ?

Where is the flash player?

I'm trying to play SWF files outside of a browser, but my SWF
files are associated with the wrong program file. How do I get the
flash player to run them? When I use "open with", what do I point
it to?

i tried to open a external hd and received this
/Library/Filesystem/fusefs.fs/support/fusefs.kext failed to load-(libkern/kext) link error; check the system/kernal logs for errors or try kextutil(8).
the macfuse file system is not available (71).
This is way above my head, can any one help me?

There is something wrong with the kext. Look for an update or try one of the paid options where you can get support from them.

Where are the Flash CS6 features for animators?

It looks to me that Flash CS6 is quite a letdown to me. Almost none of what I wanted went through.
No 64-bit support (Seriously? Yeah, even 32-bit programs run better in 64-bit OS*, but native 64-bit support is still desirable), no Photoshop application frame (Why, Adobe? Why Photoshop and Illustrator and no one else?), and I don't see any new drawing features featured in the website. The only thing I (remotely) liked would be the maximum canvas sixe finally going up to 8192 pixels.
Just saying that this release is quite a letdown to me. It's basically CS5.5 with extra export options that I'm never going to need.
I'll see how much 3D support this version will have. Maybe that part will change my opinion.
* The idea of using a 32-bit OS in a modern multimedia workstation is a joke. You can't use more than about 3.5 GB of physical RAM across the entire OS. If you're using multiple 32-bit applications, 64-bit OS is more desirable. And I'm talking about Windows here; I don't know how Mac memory management works.

I would like to see all these features:
•Ability to sync MovieClips to the timeline (through some checkbox option)
•Authortime Pixel Bender filters (imported to Library and available in Filters Panel)
•ToonBoom's brush tool
•Independent X, Y, Z keyframes (behaving like every other property curve)

Where's the flash player

c'mon Apple. you do so many things well. with literally THOUSANDS of web pages and video embeds running on Flash, why wouldn't you include it on the ipad2? I'd even be happy with a decent app. Please update the OS and fix this?
Does anyone know of a reputable work-around?

Adobe makes Flash, and unfortunatley, they have been unable or unwilling to make a version that works properly on iOS devices.

Content assist only displays the flash.errors package

Has someone encountered this before? Content assist is not working for me within Flex Builder 3. I just updated to the latest stable sdk 3.4.0.6955. I was starting a project and when I typed "import flash." all that was offered by content assist was "errors".

I happen to have the exact same problem... and I'm yet to find a solution. Happened yesterday and somehow I managed to fix it. Don't know what I did but it envolved importing/exporting, clearing the workspace... whatever, it just got back on track the same way it got out of it... Happend again today... and I haven't been able to fix it. Have you found a solution for this? I'm using the 3.5.0.12683 sdk.
Edit: It's working again... all I did was open a *.as file that happened to implement the Event class... don't know if that triggered it.

Can't update 'filesystem' package

Getting the following when trying to update filesystem. Not quite sure why. Is it safe to force?

The /etc/profile file moved ownership from bash to filesystem and both these packages were updated at the same time. If you haven't got the latest version of bash (3.2.033-2) then the /etc/profile file will still be owned by bash and will conflict with the new filesystem package. In that case, just wait for you mirror to get the bash update. Otherwise, WiLLiE's advice will work.

And belle come at last and eeeeeeeeeeven not flash player 10, because nokia promised flash player 10 some time ago......... you know... no more problems with flv , flash videos and best resolution and acceleration because y have mi hdmi ouput for watch some multimedia content...........

But its flash lite     not full flash like the amazing browsers on Samsung phones
its very disapointing that the browser is still not even close to what Samsung have.  At least we have some flash (apparantly Lumia has NO FLASH !!!
Regardless of Adobe saying flash is not for mobile.... the fact is massive portion of the web has flash content and now smart phones are more powerfull they should be supported.   HTML5 is just not there yet.
I still think flash has its place its incredibly powerfull tool   and if Samsung can do it why can't Nokia?
and the fact web pages dont open "fit to page" like android browsers is equaly rubbish. I was hoping the browser would match the rest of belle which i happen to think is a really good slick simple to use interface.
