  • Where to get java 1.4.2 for Windows 2003 Server x64?

    Hello, I am installing Netweaver 7.0 SR3 on Windows Server 2003 Standard x64 running on a Xeon 5100 which I believe is i386 64-bit. I tried to use the JDK 1.4.2 which is pointed to by sapnote 941595. However, this appears to be for AMD and will not install. SAPinst will not accept the 32-bit version of that JDK either. Could you please tell me where I can get the correct version of the JDK?  Also, as an experiment I tried using the latest 64-bit version 1.6 for my machine and SAPinst got a couple stops past the ABAP import before it failed with a Java error. Is there a way to completely uninstall everything and start over? Thanks - Chris Piret

    Hi,
    With the links from note 941595, you cannot download release 1.4.2_13.
    I had to use this link
    https://cds.sun.com/is-bin/INTERSHOP.enfinity/WFS/CDS-CDS_Developer-Site/en_US/-/USD/ViewProductDetail-Start?ProductRef=j2sdk-1.4.2_13-amd64-JPR@CDS-CDS_Developer
    that I got from this forum.
    This JDK download is a mess and I think, we, the customers, pay or what seems to be bad relationship between SAP and SUN.
    IMHO, the JDK should be included in the installation box.
    I get the database software in the box, why not the JDK ?

    With my latest Vibe 3.4 installs I've used the Java 7 version without issues.
    The rpm I last used is "jdk-7u65-linux-x64.rpm" (downloaded from the Oracle site). Just run that and it installs automatically.
    And I've set the JAVA_HOME path in /etc/profile.local as follows:
    Code:
    vibe:/usr/install # cat /etc/profile.local
    export JAVA_HOME=/usr/java/jdk1.7.0_65

  • Where to get Java 1.5 full not update?

    i'm haivng trouble finding JDK 1.5 full not the update that is on the java site, i got jdk1.4 running but have no idea how to apply the update

    The JRE is "missing stuff" like tools.jar (it doesn't need it). You probably downloaded a JRE instead of a JDK.

    I am currently developping a small project and would like to know if it works with the Java 1.0. I need it only for testing purposes. Thank You.
    P.S. I aleready got Java 1.1.6_009

    Sun only archives back to 1.1. Have you tried using Google? Why are you
    developing with such an outdated API? Probably for J2ME (small device such as mobile Phone and PDA)...yes, i know one should use J2ME...but J2ME ilacks many API not found in SDK. howvere, i would suggest one whould work with at least 1.1 or higher.

  • Where to get the BusinessObjects Enterprise SDK - Java Libraries

    Hi All,
    I have installed the Crystal Report Server XI R2 but where to get the java sdk that I will use in my client j2ee web application?
    These are the folders in my CR Server directory.
    /BusinessObjects Enterprise 11.5
    /Business Objects/common/3.5/java/lib
    It seems that I will get the jar from this folder but what are those jars?
    /Business Objects/common/3.5/java/lib
    What are the list of jars that my client web application used?
    Basically in doing my POC work I need these library imports

    Hi Rulix
    From the packages that you have included ,it seems that you are using managed RAS SDK for the functionality that you want to implement.
    Here is a listing of the JAR files that you would require in your RAS application. Please note that you would require the enterprise jars and the Crystal connection jars.

  • Getting Java running

    I have downloaded j2sdk1.4.0-beta 3 onto my computer which operates on windows 98. the install wizard installed the program and created a folder j2sdk1.4.0-beta 3. If I click on this it opens to reveal other folders, but when clicking on these they continue through and nothing ends up happening.
    I have tried to follow the installation notes on the website and it discussed setting the path through the autoexec.bat. Now, this did not come up as a dos prompt set up, but rather a window under the system reconfigure window (and a bunch of others). the autoexec window started off
    @ECHO OFF
    SET BLASTER=A220 15 DI
    LH C:\WINDOWS COMMAND\DOSKEY
    So I am not even sure if this is where I am supposed to be and don't want to reset something that will effect the rest of my system.
    I've spent several hours trying to figure this out and can't get java running, if anyone can help It would be greatly appreciated!!!! Thanks in advance!!

    You need to set up the autoexec.bat file so msdos knows where to look for the javac.exe (compiler) and java.exe (run time enviroment) and other such fun stuff.
    To do this is fairly straight forward - if the JDK root directory is on your c: drive in the folder jdk1.2.2, so the path name for that folder would look like "C:\jdk1.2.2". To tell msdos where the compilers and such are add the following (changing the JDK pathname if JDK is in a different location on the c drive):
    SET CLASSPATH=.;C:\
    PATH=C:\JDK1.2.2\BIN
    Now, when you open the command line/msdos prompt you will need to run the autoexec.bat file, so in the case above, it will look in "C:\JDK1.2.2\BIN" when you run javac, java, jardoc etc.... To run it type "autoexec.bat" whilst in the same directory as the autoexec.bat in msdos - you will need to do this each time you activate the msdos prompt - how to set it up so it does it automatically i don't know.
    You don't need to change anything else in the autoexec.bat file, and you can copy the autoexec.bat into the directory in which you are developing the java code. You will need to leave the orginal for other programs to use.
    As for opening the JDK folders and your computer not doing anything, i think their maybe a problem with the computer itself............

  • Where to get the SSO ticket for a JCO-Connection from?

    Hey All,
    The szenario is, I've got a Java application and I want to connect to a SAP System. For this I want to use SSO. In the documentation of JCO I found this phrase:
    For SSO specify the user to be $MYSAPSSO2$ and pass the base64 encoded ticket as as the passwd parameter.
    Well... Now my question... Where to get this base64 ticket from? The problem is, I'm NOT using WebDynpro, it's a custom application running on client side. Now how to get the needed information? (PSE?)
    It would be great when you could give me a clue.
    Best regards,
    Kristian

    Thanks a lot.
    i replaced the code below
    if (rs != null)
                        try
                             rs.close();
                        catch (SQLException e)
                        rs = null;
                   if (rs1 != null)
                        try
                             rs1.close();
                        catch (SQLException e)
                        rs1 = null;
                   if (rs2 != null)
                        try
                             rs2.close();
                        catch (SQLException e)
                        rs2 = null;
                   if (rs3 != null)
                        try
                             rs3.close();
                        catch (SQLException e)
                        rs3 = null;
                   if (st != null)
                        try
                             st.close();
                        catch (SQLException e)
                        st = null;
                   if (pst != null)
                        try
                             pst.close();
                        catch (SQLException e)
                        pst = null;
    instead of blindly closing the resultsets and statements
    now it works fine.
    One more thing, is my code structurally correct, i mean the variables, try...catch blocks,results,statements,database connections and overall coding. whether it looks like professional code.
    thaks & regards,

  • Where to get 1.4.2._04 JVM?

    Sun had a maintainence release 1.4.2._04 on March 10, 2004. However, the official download site for 1.4 J2SE (http://java.sun.com/j2se/1.4.2/download.html) still points to the previous version 1.4.2_03.
    What's more confusing is that, when I did a google search on 1.4.2_04 SDK download, google has a "cached" page which DOES point to 1.4.2_04 (the google cache timestamp is March 22). It seems that Sun has published 1.4.2_04 download at one time, but later reverted back to 1.4.2_03.
    Does anybody know where to get official 1.4.2_04 J2SE SDK, or when it will be available for public download? Is it stable?
    Also, I downloaded 1.4.2_04 SDK following Google's cached page:
    http://66.102.7.104/search?q=cache:anGj0_-PWb4J:java.sun.com/j2se/1.4.2/download.html+j2sdk+1.4.2_04+download&hl=en&ie=UTF-8. Is this the official version?
    Anyone with 1.4.2_04 VM experiences please share your opinions.
    Thanks.
    Yan

    Yeah, it was there last week, but it seems to have vanished :-(
    There is a discussion about it's disappearance here:
    http://forum.java.sun.com/thread.jsp?forum=17&thread=506253&tstart=0&trange=15
    And it has been spotted by javalobby too:
    http://javalobby.org/
    http://javalobby.org/thread.jspa?forumID=61&threadID=11985
    I hope Sun clear this up... And I also hope that this is a website problem, not a problem with _04 :-(

  • BC4J - How can I get java.sql.Connection ?

    Hi,
    I am using BC4J for my Application and want to get the java.sql.Connection from ApplicationModule or from anywhere such that I can use the same connection as in ApplicaitonModule, to do some work in the database.
    I tried to get it from the SessionInfo :
    sessioninfo.getConnectionInfo();
    but this returns me oracle.dacf.dataset.connections.Connection
    How can I convert this to java.sql.Connection?
    Or Is there any other means to get hold of sql.Connection?
    Any help would be appreciated.
    TIA

    Thanks for this reply.. but
    I need java.sql.Connection to call a stored procedure in Oracle database and I have to pass oracle.sql.ARRAY to it.
    My Stored Procedure looks like:
    create or replace PROCEDURE updateRevenueNetworkInfo(revid varchar2, netids Varchar32Array)
    where 'Varchar32Array' is my own datatype in the database which is mapped to oracle.sql.ARRAY object in java.
    And in order to create oracle.sql.ARRAY I need java.sql.Connection as shown below
    oracle.sql.ARRAY pTable = new oracle.sql.ARRAY(desc, connection, netidarray);
    I am executing my stored procedure like this:
    ArrayDescriptor desc = null; CallableStatement cs = null;
    String[] netidarray = {"00-AOL-T1-N003"};
    desc = ArrayDescriptor.createDescriptor("VARCHAR32ARRAY", conn);
    oracle.sql.ARRAY pTable = new ARRAY(desc, connection, netidarray);
    cs = conn.prepareCall( "BEGIN updaterevenuenetworkinfo(?,?); END;" );
    ((OracleCallableStatement)cs).setString(1,"00-AOL-T1-R3");
    ((OracleCallableStatement)cs).setArray(2, pTable);
    cs.execute();
    Is there any way of getting java.sql.Connection such that I can use the same connection as in the ApplicationModule?
    OR Is there any other way of passing Array of Strings to a stored procedure in the database?
    Thanks for the help.

    I agree, it looks frustrating. Obviously the serialization process has found the non-serializable object during the traversal of the object graph, but its difficult to know where this is.
    Your class looks a bit "serialization-heavy", if you don't mind me saying. I avoid serializing anything to do with swing components and stick to collections and my own classes. Do you need to serialize these? If not, mark them transient. You can do this for all of them and then reintroduce into the serialized form one at a time to see which one causes the problem (just for curiosity).
    When the object is deserialized you will have to make the necessary arrangements to set up any members that you marked transient, as these will be null. You can do this is readObject, but on this subject, why are you writing out the points member explicitly? It will be written out anyway since there is nothing special about it.
    I don't know how familiar you are with the serialization package but its a sharp instrument that needs respect. I would advise reading the specification, if you haven't already done so.

  • Where to put java code - Best Practice

    Hello. I am working with the Jdeveloper 11.2.2. I am trying to figure out the best practice for where to put code. After reviewing http://docs.oracle.com/cd/E26098_01/web.1112/e16182.pdf it seemed like the application module was the preferred spot (although many of the examples in the pdf are in main methods). After coding a while though, I noticed that there were quite a few libraries imported, and wondered whether this would impact performance.
    I reviewed postings on the forum, especially Re: Access service method (client interface) programmatically . This link mentions accessing code from a backing bean -- and the gist of the recommendations seems to be to use the data control to drag it to the JSF, or use the bindings to access code.
    My interest lies in where to put java code in the first place; In the View Object, Entity Object, and Am object, backing bean.....other?
    I can outline several best guesses about where to put code and the pros and cons:
    1. In the application module
    Pros: Centralized location for code makes development and support more simple as there are not multiple access points. Much like a data control centralizes services, the application module can act as a conduit for different pieces of code you have in objects in your model.
    Cons: Everything in one place means the application module becomes bloated. I am not sure how memory works in java -- if the app module has tons of different libraries are they all called when even a simple query re-execute method is called? Memory hog?
    2. Write code in the objects it affects. If you are writing code that accesses a view object, write it in a view object. Then make it visible to the client.
    pros: The code is accessed via fewer conduits (for example, I would expect that if you call the application module from a JSF backing bean, then the application module calls the view object, you have three different pieces of code --
    conts: The code gets spread out, harder to locate etc.
    I would greatly appreciate your thoughts on the matter.

    Stuart

    First point here is when you say "where to put the java code" and you're referring to ADF BC, the point is you put "business logic java code" in the ADF Business Components. It's fine of course to have Java code in the ViewController layer that deals with the UI layer. Just don't put business logic in the UI layer, and don't put UI logic in the model layer. In your 2 examples you seem to be considering the ADF BC layer only, so I'll assume you mean business logic java code only.
    Meanwhile I'm not keen on the term best practice as people follow best practices without thinking, typically best practices come with conditions and people forget to apply them. Luckily you're not doing that here as you've thought through the pros and cons of each (nice work).
    Anyway, back on topic and off my soap box, as for where to put your code, my thoughts:
    1) If you only have 1 or 2 methods put it in the AppModuleImpl
    2) If you have hundreds of methods, or there's a chance #1 above will morph into #2, split the code up between the AppModuleImpl, ViewImpl and ViewRowImpls. Why? Because your AM will become overloaded with hundreds of methods making it unreadable. Instead put the code where it should logically go. Methods that work on a specific VO row go into the associated ViewRowImpl, methods that work across rows in a VO go into the ViewImpl, and methods that work across VOs in the associated AppModuleImpl.
    To be honest which you ever option you choose, one thing I do recommend as a best practice is be consistent and document the standard so your other programmers know.
    Btw there isn't an issue about loading lots of libraries/imports into a class, it has no runtime cost. However if your methods require lots of class variables, then yes this will have a memory cost.
    On a side note if you're interested in more ideas around how to build ADF apps correctly think about joining the "ADF EMG", a free online forum which discusses ADF architecture, best practices (cough), deployment architectures and more.
    Regards,
    CM.
