Where to place    text file in  Jdeveloper9irc  to read from Java program

For ex.
package mypackage;
import java.io.*;
public class ReadData
public ReadData()
public static void main(String[] args)
new ReadData();
try{
File fin = new File("test.txt");
if (fin.canRead())
System.out.println("Can read file");
I am geting a error message of file not found. Please advise
in which directory should I place the text file "test.txt" so that the java program can read from it.
Thanks,
agsp

The test.txt file should be in the 'Run Directory" of your Project. Select Project.jpr and invoke Project settings dialog.
Click on the Runner. You will see the "Run Directory" edit field.
For ex.
package mypackage;
import java.io.*;
public class ReadData
public ReadData()
public static void main(String[] args)
new ReadData();
try{
File fin = new File("test.txt");
if (fin.canRead())
System.out.println("Can read file");

  • How to Call .XDO file From Java Program

    Hi,
    I have developed a report in using BI Publisher version 10.1.3.
    I created the report and it only created XDO files. If I want to call XDO file from Java program how I can do that.
    What are the APIs available to do that.
    Thanks

    Hi,
    the JavaAPI didn't work with the xdo-Files. But you can create a proxy stub for the Web Service API of BI Publisher which uses the xdo's in the repository.

  • Read from text file vi won't read file...

    I am very new to LV programming so I hope you forgive any stupid mistakes I am making.   I am using Ver. 8.2 on an XP machine.
    I have a small program that stores small data sets in text files and can update them individually or read and update them all sequentially, sending the data out a USB device.   Currently I am just using two data sets, each in their own small text file.  The delimiter is two commas ",,".
    The program works fine as written when run in the regular programming environment.   I noticed, however, as soon as I built it into a project that the one function where it would read each file sequentially to update both files the read from text file vi would return an empty data set, resulting in blank values being written back into the file.   I read and rewrite the values back to the text file to place the one updated field (price) in it'sproper place.  Each small text file is identified and named with a 4 digit number "ID".   I built it twce, and get the same result.  I also built it into an installer and unfortunately the bug travelled into the installation as well.
    Here is the overall program code in question:
    Here is the reading and parsing subvi:
    If you have any idea at all what could cause this I would really appreciate it!
    Solved!

    Hi Kiauma,
    Dennis beat me to it, but here goes my two cents:
    First of all, it's great to see that you're using error handling - that should make troubleshooting a lot easier.  By any chance, have you observed error 7 when you try to read your files and get an empty data set?  (You've probably seen that error before - it means the file wasn't found)
    If you're seeing that error, the issue probably has something to do with this:
    Relative paths differ in an executable.  This knowledge base document sums it up pretty well. To make matters more confusing, if you ever upgrade to LabVIEW 2009 the whole scheme changes.  Also, because an installer contains the executable, building the installer will always yield the same results.
    Lastly, instead of parsing each set of commas using the "match pattern" function, there's a function called "spreadsheet string to array" (also on the string palette) that does exactly what you're doing, except with one function:
    I hope this is helpful...

  • WebLogic writes to a text file and an applet reads the text file

    Hi there,
    I need some help here!
    I have an applet that needs to read from a text file:
    final URL prtDataURL = new URL("http://" + getCodeBase().getHost() + ":" + getCodeBase().getPort() + "/ESTC/lib/prtDataFile.txt");
                final URLConnection urlConn = prtDataURL.openConnection();
                urlConn.setUseCaches(false);
                urlConn.setDoInput(true);
                urlConn.setDoOutput(false);
                final InputStreamReader is = new InputStreamReader(urlConn.getInputStream());
                final BufferedReader in = new BufferedReader(is);
                String inputLine;
                while ((inputLine = in.readLine()) != null){
                    String[] tmp = inputLine.split("§");
                    this.dateTime = tmp[0];
                    this.quanTot = Integer.parseInt(tmp[1]);
                    this.quanSco = Integer.parseInt(tmp[2]);
                    this.quanSef = Integer.parseInt(tmp[3]);
                    this.valTot = Double.parseDouble(tmp[4]);
                    this.valSco = Double.parseDouble(tmp[5]);
                    this.valSef = Double.parseDouble(tmp[6]);
                in.close();
                is.close();and this is ok.
    Now I have the web server (WebLogic) that must write, at regular time intervals, to that file (prtDataFile.txt). The web application writes to the file (which belongs to the application).
    I've tried open the file with the File object but since the war file is unexploded I can't get the real path!
    I've tried open an url connection,
    final URL url = new URL("http://10.191.33.249:16801/ESTC/lib/prtDataFile.txt");
    final URLConnection connection = url.openConnection();
    connection.setDoOutput(true);
    connection.setUseCaches(false);
    connection.setDoInput(false);
    OutputStreamWriter out = new OutputStreamWriter(connection.getOutputStream());
    out.write(currentDate + "§" + quantTot + "§" + quantSco + "§" + quantSef + "§" + valTot + "§" + valSco + "§" + valSef);;
    out.flush();
    out.close();which seems a little stupid since I'm opening an URLConnection to the same place where the application is. Anyway it doesn't work, i.e., it doesn't write to the file but it doesn't gives me any errors or exceptions.
    Is there another way to get this two pieces communicating?
    Thanks in advance

    I have almost the exact same problem, and I am in the same situation as you are with respects to the language.
    I am simply trying to create a file and output some garbage to it but my applet always spits back a security violation. I've tried eliminating the restrictions on the applet runner I use but I still get the error.
    My method:
    debug = new Label() ;
    debug.setLocation( 20, 20 ) ;
    debug.setSize( 500, 15 ) ;
    add( debug ) ;
    // output
    try
         OutputStream file = new FileOutputStream( new File( "" + getCodeBase() + "output.txt" ) ) ;
         byte[] buffer = { 1, 2, 3, 4, 5 } ;
         file.write( buffer ) ;
         file.close() ;
    } catch( Exception e )
         debug.setText( e.toString() ) ;
         Can anyone tell why this isnt working?

  • Intermittently Text file cannot be opened directly from Finder

    One day I would like to duplicate a text file by right click such file to select "Duplicate". However I accidentally pressed "Return" before right click selecting "Duplicate". It means that after pressing "Return", I entered the mode to rename this text file name, but then I continuously to right click selecting "Duplicate".
    After that, I saw a duplicated text file with the same name plus "copy" after this name. The file was dim in color. I tried to delete it but Finder disallow me to delete it. Finder told me that it was occupied by other and ask me whether I would like to "Force Delete". Then I clicked yes. Deletion operation was successful.
    After that, when I opened the same original text file by directly double click the text file. The operation was failed and Finder output two error window prompt with below two error messages:
    "The application can't be found"
    "The operation can't be completed
    An unexpected error occurred (error code -43)"
    After that, I tried to check the information by clicking "Ctrl-I" on this file. By default, I use TextEdit to open text file. I tried to select TextEdit as the default application for all text file in the information window. However, Finder still output above two windows prompt of error messages.
    If I tried to open TextEdit or any other editor application first and then open such text file directly from its menu, the text file can then be opened.
    Even for files within the same directory, I also cannot directly double click them from Finder to open it. Until I close the Finder window and reopen a new Finder window of such directory, then I can double click to open text file, where it would be opened by my default text editor "TextEdit".
    After that, from time to time, such two error message windows will prompt out disallowing me to directly double click opening the text file. For example, originally a text file can be opened properly. After working on the file some time later and try to open the other text file in the same directory, such two message windows will prompt out. Or when I work such text file and the swap to other application, and then go back to Finder to double click such opened text file, such two error message windows will also prompt out. The only way to temporary fix it is to close the Finder window first and reopen it again.
    In addition, after such accident, I also discovered that Finder cannot instantly update directory content anymore. For example, I setup FTP server and someone can upload files to my Public directory, and where my Public directory has been opened before anyone ftp files to me, the Public directory cannot update itself after someone uploaded files to me through ftp.
    Or sometime I execute copy operation within VMware image to copy a file to shared directory, I also cannot see the directory in Finder update the content. I have to click to other directory and then go back to such shared directory so as to refresh the directory content list. Even I click "Ctrl-R", it cannot refresh the directory.
    In the past before such accident, Finder works fine to update directory content promptly after any upload or copy operation.
    In addition to bug fix patch, is there any workaround solution I can try to recover my Finder?

    HI,
    This is a shot in the dark but it can't hurt.
    Locate these files.
    com.apple.finder.plist
    com.apple.textedit.plist
    ~/Library/Preferences
    Move those files the Trash and restart your Mac.
    If that doesn't do the job, boot from your install disk and check the startup disk for errors.
    Insert Installer disk and Restart, holding down the "C" key until grey Apple appears.
    Go to Installer menu and launch Disk Utility.
    Select your HDD (manufacturer ID) in the left panel.
    Select First Aid in the Main panel.
    *(Check S.M.A.R.T Status of HDD at the bottom of right panel. It should say: Verified)*
    Click Repair Disk on the bottom right.
    If DU reports disk does not need repairs quit DU and restart.
    If DU reports errors Repair again and again until DU reports disk is repaired.
    When you are finished with DU, from the Menu Bar, select Utilities/Startup Manager.
    Select your start up disk and click Restart
    If the hard disk appears to be ok and you still can't launch Text Edit, back up all important data and perform an Archive & Install.
