Where to put extracted jfreechart folder

Hi,
I had extracted jfreechart zip file but when I m compiling my java class , compiler gives errors like "package org.jfree.chart.ChrtFactory" does not exist and for other packages also.
Please tell me how to map it to jar files?
Please reply me as soon as possible.
Thanks & Regards
Ashish

When you extract the files from the archive, a file readme.txt was created in the root of unpacked folder. Did you read that file entirely?
If yes, please describe in more steps what you did. In this way, I'll be able to give you a more specific answer.
Good luck!

    I am trying to organize a zip file with a bunch of links and files. But when I drag an image file to a folder, it always "Snaps to grid" instead of just landing where I put it. All of the files are going into the same zip file but I want them visually in the space that I put them and not at the bottom of the snap to grid folder location they are looking like.  I am trying to  drag and drop files in groups so that I can group them for now, but image files always do their own "sort by" when I drag them from my web pages. Links don't do it though.  I tried resetting the folder, and deleting the DS files. No luck.

  • Where to put a folder with icons?

    Hi,
    I have created a small application that makes use of some icons (for use with some JButtons).
    I have noticed when I am running application through eclipse if I write:
    HomeBtn.setIcon(new ImageIcon("player/icons/house48.png"));and put the "icons" folder in the "player" folder (which is also the name of the package my main application lies) it works.
    if I create a jar file with this command:
    jar cvmf manifest.stub player.jar player/ common/ and send it to a friend of mine who is using windows (I am using Linux) it does not show the icons. If I want him to display the icons he has to open the jar file and create this structure in it: "player/player/icons" and put the icons in there.
    Why?
    Is there a way to access my icons in a "global" way? or should I put everything in one folder (icons and class files) in order to have no problem?

    Create a file structure that works in your machine, then zip the entire structure up. Your friend just needs to unzip the zipfile and run the program.
    A couple of points: Make sure that what you create will work on Windows; newline values, directory separator values, etc. Avoid absolute directory references.

    But I can not figure out where to put the jar files that I use from my ejb in Weblogic 8.1.3.
    Until now I have extracted all jar files and put them inside my ejb with my own class files. But this seems odd.
    So please help me out here.

    Dear,
    You might have downloaded either tar.gz or zip file. when you extract this file you will find a jar file and also some demos nad docs(api+help). place the poifs api jar file in 'WEB-INF\lib" folder and restart the server.
    In general any api jar files for web applications should be placed in WEB-INF\lib folder then only they are accesible. If you extracted the jar, then place entire package structure in WEB-INF\classes directory

  • Where is the extract filter in photoshop cs5?

    Where is the extract filter in photoshop cs5?  Thanks

    from an Adobe Tech Sheet:
    Photoshop CS5 can be run as a 64-bit application on Mac OS, 10.5.7 and higher. Because of the changes that were made to the application, some plug-ins are not available when you run Photoshop CS5 either as a 32-bit or a 64-bit application. To work with these plug-ins, run Photoshop CS5 as a 32-bit application, then when you are done using these plug-ins, return to working in Photoshop CS5 as a 64-bit application.
    If you copy old plug-ins from previous versions of Photoshop, or third-party plug-ins that are not compatible with Photoshop CS5, into Photoshop CS5's Plug-in folder, you may see different problems, such as errors or crashes.
    If you have set the Additional Plug-Ins Folder in the Plug-Ins preferences to a folder, deselect this option, or make sure all the plug-ins in this folder are compatible with Photoshop CS5.
    The easiest way to determine if third-party, old plug-ins, or plug-ins from previous versions of Photoshop are causing problems is to move them all into a new folder called "3rd Party plug-ins."
    If this folder is outside the Photoshop/Plug-Ins folder, you can use the Additional Plug-Ins Folder Plug-In preference to allow Photoshop to access or not access the plug-ins in this folder.
    If this folder is inside the Photoshop/Plug-Ins folder, disable the plug-ins by renaming the folder by putting a tilde (~) as the first character in the folder name.
    Plug-ins not supported by Photoshop CS5 on Mac OS, running in 64-bit mode:
    Lighting Effects
    Extract (Use Refine Mask under the Selection menu)
    Variations
    Web Contact Sheet II (Web Photo Gallery)
    TWAIN support will work on some scanners
    Video Preview
    Send Video Preview to Device
    Embed / Read Watermark
    Firewire
    Firewire DLL
    To run Photoshop CS5 on Mac OS as a 32-bit application, select the Adobe Photoshop CS5 application file, installed by default in the Applications/Adobe Photoshop CS5 folder. Choose File > Get Info, and select Open in 32 Bit Mode. Deselect this option to run Photoshop CS5 in 64-bit mode.
    To determine if a plug-in causes an error or crash, remove all old or third-party plug-ins from the Adobe Photoshop CS5 > Plug-Ins folder, and deselect Additional Plug-ins Folder in the Photoshop > Preferences > Plug-Ins preference.

  • JUnit, where to put my unit test

    Hi all,
    I have a question regarding unit test.
    I am working on a project which has multiple packages. I need to unit test every package using JUnit. One question I have is where to put my unit test. The options are:
    1. Write unit test as a separate package. This makes the code clear but only the public functions get tested or I have to make all functions public.
    2. Write unit test in the same package of the code to be tested. This makes writing test easier but putting test and code together makes the structure dirty.
    Please let me know your opinion and tell me how do you normally do this?
    Many thanks,
    Regards,
    Kevin

    It sounds like you're probably a beginner, so this might be overkill, but here goes anyway: You might want to investigate Maven, which defines a standard directory structure that includes a test tree separate from the production tree, but yet still in the same overall folder. The beauty of this design is that you can keep both production & test code together in source control, IDE projects, etc. but they don't interfere with each other.
    Even if you don't use Maven now, you might want to consider using their standard directory structure, as it is has stood the test of time, & would facilitate using Maven if you ever decide to in the future.

  • How to extract a folder (and its contents) from inside a zip file?

    There is a zip file which contains a folder inside it. The folder itself contains a few files. I would need to know how to extract the folder (with its contents) from inside a zip file.
    I have found a few unzipping code samples which show how to handle a folder inside a zip file. An example is shown below:
    public static void extract(String workingDirectory, byte[] zipFile)
    throws Exception {
    ByteArrayInputStream byteStream = new ByteArrayInputStream(zipFile);
    ByteArrayOutputStream out = new ByteArrayOutputStream();
    ZipInputStream zipStream = new ZipInputStream(byteStream);
    ZipEntry zipEntry = null;
    String nameZipEntry = null;
    byte[] contentZiphttp://forum.java.sun.com/post!default.jspa?forumID=31#
    Click for code tagsEntry = null;
    boolean isDirectory = false;
    int indexFileSeparator = -1;
    String directory = null;
    String fileName =  null;
    while ( (zipEntry = zipStream.getNextEntry()) != null )
                nameZipEntry = workingDirectory + File.separator + zipEntry.getName();
                isDirectory = zipEntry.isDirectory();
                if (isDirectory) {
    File file = new File(nameZipEntry);
    file.mkdirs();
                else
                    // read zipEntry
                    byte[] buf = new byte[1024];
                    int c = 0;
                    while ( (c = zipStream.read(buf)) != -1)
                        out.write(buf, 0, c);
                    indexFileSeparator = nameZipEntry.lastIndexOf(File.separator);
                    directory = nameZipEntry.substring(0, indexFileSeparator);
                    fileName =  nameZipEntry.substring(indexFileSeparator+1,nameZipEntry.length());
                    FileSystemTools.createFile(directory, fileName, out);
                    out.reset();
                    zipStream.closeEntry();
            zipStream.close();
            byteStream.close();
    }The code sample which deals with the part where the zipEntry is a directory creates a directory with the same path and name. (highlighted in bold)
    Another similar variation is:
    File file = new File(dirDestiny.getAbsolutePath() + File.separator + zipEntry.getName() );
    if(zipEntry.isDirectory())
          file.mkdirs();When the code creates a directory for the folder, does it unzip the contents inside the folder as well?
    If not, how do I extract the files inside the folder?

    Have you already tried to see if the sample code you downloaded works or not? Maybe if you try out the code yourself you can see if it extracts files from a directory within a zip file?
    I like to use pkzip. It is a command line compression/uncompression tool that can be used from a batch file. If you assignment involves unzipping large amount of zip files on a regular basis, I recommend taking a look at pkzip.

  • Where to put ringtones in the N9?

    I dont really know where to put this thread. So mods feel free to move it.
    I didnt really care for any of the stock ring tones on the N9, and I had a ring tone on my N97 that was the sound played on Star Trek TNG when the shuttle bay doors would start to open. The problem here is the N9 only lets you shop for new tones, or pull them out of your music.
    I had put up with this on my N97, occasionally hearing this tone while listening to music because I had searched high and low how to put this tone and not have it imported into the music library.
    Is there anyway to put this Mp3 file on my N9 so that it will see it in the Ringtones list, but not end up in the Music player?
    Thanks a ton
    Solved!
    Go to Solution.

    go to
    settings/security/developer mode
    and enable it.
    it will have you download and install some files. tap ok.
    you should be able to just open the filebox (free download from ovi store) and then go to:
    /home/user/MyDocs
    and then tap and hold, select copy on the all the ringtones you want to copy and then tap the up-arrow (bottom left corner) and you will be in /home/user/
    scroll down to .ring-tones
    tap it to open the folder
    then tap the clipboard and select the ringtones to paste there.
    it should be done. you should be able to see it when you go to select the sounds.
    i have not used these to do individual ringtones for contacts, but have customized the sounds in:
    settings/sounds and vigbration
    for all my rintone, maeil alert tone, message alert tone, calendar alarm tone.
    i have been using the same nokia sounds for these since 2004
    you could also do the following with terminal
    open terminal
    devel-su (enter)
    rootme (enter)
    cp -R /home/user/MyDocs/(file name.mp3) /home/user/.ring-tones/
    you can do that for each different ringtone, just changing the file name.
    to make it easier with terminal, if after you enter the first one, just tap the top right corner for the menu, and select toolbar, then arrows.
    now just tap the up-arrow and then use the left/right arrows to change the file name and then tap enter again. this should save a bit of time once you are good at it.

  • Where to put images in web Dynpro project to have them deployed?

    Hi Brothers,
    I would like to show an image in an <img>-tag within a Formatted Text View UI Element.
    I have created a folder img under src/.../projectname and I have referenced the image in the <img>-tag as follows:
    < img src="/LocalDevelopment~LocalDevelopment~testroadmap~demo.sap.com/src/packages/com/sap/demo/projectname/img/newRow.JPG"; /.>
    However, the image is not shown in the Formatted Text View UI Element.
    Does anybody know where to put images so that they are packed in the .war achieve and deployed and how to referenced them?
    Thanks, Johannes

    Hi,
    place the image in the following folder of application,
    src\mimes\Components\<your component name>.testroadmap.demo.sap.com
    If you store the image file in your Web Dynpro project under src /mimes /Components /<Name of Component>, you only have to specify the file name without a path.

  • Where to put .txt file with SimpleInput

    Hello everyone,
    I'm rather new to Java and have a slight problem. The thing is that I need to write an app that can read a text file in this format:
    2
    Orc
    name = Gnorck
    experience = 20
    maxHealthPoints = 50
    healthPoints = 30
    maxBerserk = 9
    berserk = 7
    Human
    name = Aragorn
    experience = 45
    maxHealthPoints = 40
    healthPoints = 30
    maxGreed = 20
    greed = 10
    The first number is de number of characters in the file and after that every character is described in 7 lines.
    Now the application has to be able to read the file. I've choosen to first just make a list of characters. A friend helped me with this code but I'm not completely sure if I know how it works. The code:
    package RPGApplicatie;
    import java.util.*;
    public class Karakters {
         //Constructor
         public Karakters(int size){
              karakters = new ArrayList(size);
         //Methode voor het toevoegen van een karakter
         public void voegToe(Karakter k){
              karakters.add(k);
         public static Karakters readFile(String filename) throws ClassNotFoundException, RuntimeException, InstantiationException, IllegalAccessException{
              SimpleInput file = new SimpleInput(filename);
              int size = file.nextInt();
              Karakters result = new Karakters(size);
              for(int i = 0; i < size ; i++) {
                   Class c = Class.forName(file.nextLine());
                   result.voegToe((Karakter)c.newInstance());
              return result;
         //Variabelen aanmaken
         private ArrayList<Karakter> karakters;
    }First question: I have the classes Karakter (which is the superclass for class Human and Orc), Human and Orc. So does the method forName scan for strings that are also classes? Like so it scans the file and when it comes across a line that says either 'Orc' or 'Human' it adds it to the list?
    Second question: Where to put the text file that holds the data? I now have it in the same folder called test.txt. I use this code to run it:
    package RPGApplicatie;
    public class RPGApplicatie {
         public static void main(String[] args) throws ClassNotFoundException, RuntimeException, InstantiationException, IllegalAccessException {
              Karakters.readFile("test.txt");
    }Thanks in advance! If more info is needed I can post that.
    Regards,
    Sander

    I assume you have defined your Human and Orc classes to include fields name, experience, etc and a constructor that takes these values as parameters?
    You can remove the Class.forName() method altogether. Example:
    int count = file.readInt();
    // define variables for Karakter values (name, experience etc.)
    for (int i = 0; i < count; i++)
      String characterClass = file.readLine();
      // read common character components
      if (characterClass.equals("Human")
        // read human specific components
        karakters.add(new Human(...));
      if (characterClass.equals("Orc")
        // create Orc
    //...Cheers

  • Where to put datafiles

    Hello everyone,
    im writing a tool atm which needs some xsltemplates and for gui some jpg files.
    my question: where to put datafiles?
    atm i have the files in a seperate directory. my programm folder looks like this:
    startscript.bat
    startscript.sh
    data <- directory
    jar <- directory
    is this an usual solution? is there the possibility to put the datafiles together with my class files into one jar? i think it would be much more clean to get all files (except of the startscript of course) to one jar file.
    whats your opinion?
    mfg
    dominik

    I normally put the images in an 'images' directory and the files in a 'dat' directory. It is then just a matter of getting the URL of the resource as
    java.net.URL url = OneOfYourClasses.class.getClassLoader().getResource(path to your resourse);
    For images, the 'path to your resource' for file fred.gif in the imaages directory would then be 'images/fred.gif' . Similarly for your data files.
    An image can then be loaded using
    ImageIcon imageIcon = new ImageIcon(url);
    and a file opened with
    url.openStream() .
