Hi All,
Which features/components of Oracle Standard/Enterprise edition are NOT in Oracle XE (The nice little free database) ? Off-course, I can guess that we cannot implement RAC or Grid using XE, but its just a guess.
I am mainly asking DBA/Developer point of view.
Are features like ,
Partitioning
Advanced Queue
RMAN
XML
Oracle JVM
are in Oracle XE?
Please let us know your experiances.

Track which attributes/column are updated of a table

Hi All,
How can i track that which columns are updated of a table when update statement is executed on that particular table. I want to track it in update trigger.
Suppose table name is T1 and has columns A,b,c, ...... z.
One way is compare values of all columns using if statement like
if :new.a <> :old.a then
but this method is quite code expensive particular for table having 100 plus column.
Is there exist any dictionary view which can provide this info.

Does anyone know which "Supporting Components" are necessary for me to run Photoshop? I want to do a custom install and ONLY install Photoshop from my CS4 install disk. I only want to install what I need and nothing more. It gives me the option to install the following Supporting Components:

Change the order components are painted (easy z-order)

All,
What is the best way to change the order child components are painted in my JPanel? I keep reading everywhere that you shouldn't override paintChildren() unless you really know what you are doing. I guess I don't know what I'm doing in that respect. Very weird things happen if I override paintChildren(). Any help?

Why do you want to know the order in which your components are painted? Are you getting a null pointer exception?
If that is the case then it is more dependent on which component is created first. The order of your code determines which objects are null or not.
JTextArea area;
JButton button;
button = new JButton("Hello");
button.setBackground(area.getBackground()); // this will throw a null pointer exception
area = new JTextArea("Go Away", 20 , 10);

Hi,
In order to see the tables behind this or that SAP action, you can do the following. Open in a separate session transaction ST05 and activate the trace. Then, run the program in question. When finished, go to ST05 session, deactivate the trace and display it. You will see all the queries processed by SAP.

I had a query once to check, if specific components are in use. Theres some internal view but i just can't remember. Can someone help me with this?

Key binding may vary as you switch between programs. I have some set to be "universal" but some applications manage to override those settings even though the key shortcuts in the application's menu show my programmed shortcuts.
In your case I'd try disabling applications you suspect may potentially be effecting problems and see if you can track down which are affecting your other applications.

Software Update - Some components are corrup

When i try to use the software update on Creative Mediasource 3.30.2 I get the 'some components are corrupted' message.
The product I have installed is a Zen Sleek Photo and I am trying to install the latest software including Mediasource version 5.
I have tried removing the autoupdate components fron IE7 as suggested in another message but this did not seem to do anything.

Withdrawn qty of components automatically updates in Process order

Hi,
We are facing a peculier problem.
We create a process order. Some of the components have very less requirement qty (0.004 abc where 0.1 abc = 0.01 g).
Withdrawn qty for these components are automaticcaly updated equivalent to requiremnents qty although there is no goods movement.
Due to this reason the reservation of these components is also 0 & due to this reason only no Transfer requirements is created.
Any inputs on this issue is highly appreaciated.

Please note the following in your case :
1.During maintaing the unit of measure in T-code CUNI we can define No. of decimal places to which rounding should be performed which specifies the number of decimal places to which this measurement unit should be rounded.
System will not allow more than 3 decimal places in satandard SAP.You can use a larger base quantity of 100 or 1000 in the BOM header (instead of 1).That would eliviate your issue with the 3 decimal places in the component quantity. SAP always takes the base quantity into account during requirements calculation.

2.Pl go to SU3 transaction and select 'Defaults' tab, check option selected against 'Decimal Notation'. pl select dot decimal notation and SAVE.After you changed it, please re-start your sap session(s).Or go to System -
> User profile-----> Own Data. In user profile page go to Default setting for Decimal notation. Change it to 1,234,567.89

COPA document created from billing document, cost components are twice

Hi Experts,
Ref Subject line : COPA document created from billing document, cost components are twice.
I have checked the following :
1. Cost Estimate of a material
2. Production Confirmation of the Order
When comparing both of the above, they are same, without variance.
Now when a COPA document is created, we observe the Cost Component Split in Sales Order to be exactly TWICE as compared to Cost Estimate of the material.
May I please request help from you all. What must be the cause & where do i check / rectify.

If you are seeing double in KE30 Report - May be you are updating both sales order and billing doc in COPA and hence you are seeing 2 line items.. But one of them will be record type A and the other one with F
If the above is not the case and you are seeing double in the COPA document itself - Then See if you have mapped VPRS cond type in KE4I to the same value fields as Cost Comp Split
Also, one strong possibility that you are using Batch Split in SD.. .... Which means your delivery document (VL03N) will have multiple batches of materials being delivered to the customer....
a. In this case, your Item Category for main item (HPOS) and Sub Item (UPOS) has to be different and the Item catg for UPOS should not be relevant for billing / Costs... Note 77414 descirbes this situation and the settings to be done in SD Customizing
b. You may need to apply note 352441 in your system

All components not updating when I change the L&F

I have developed a GUI and want Windows LookAndFeel for it. Please excuse me if I use some terms incorrectly. I'll explain my class structure first -
1. class MainWindow - Contains the main method and invokes MainFrame
2. class MainFrame - Creates the basic GUI and all the components and their event-handlers
3.class MainPanel - Contains the actions to be taken in response to an event in MainFrame
4. Dialog Boxes : Their are several classes implementing several dialog boxes which I load as needed.
I have changed the L&F in the MainFrame class after all the MainFrame class components have been loaded. I have also used updateComponentTreeUI( ) to update all components already formed. I found out that not all components are having the Windows L&F when I tried out a JProgressBar. Instead of the green-broken progress indicator (Windows XP style), it was showing the gray-filled indicator (Java style). Then I noticed even the Menu Items are having the default L&F. Can anyone comment. Not giving any code because I am not sure which part of the huge GUI code should I post, i.e. where the problem really lies.

program.No no, you din't get me. I know the basics regarding L&F. All the components are working fine, but that JProgressBar is not showing the XP view. Forget the JMenuItems, I am not sure the view is Windows L&F or Metal L&F, but I am sure the JProgressBar is not Windows L&F (while the rest of the components in the dialog box are perfect). Could this be due to something that I missed out while implementing the JProgressBar. But the Windows L&F is loaded before the dialog box containing the progress bar comes in. Your answer to my last Swing post helped me a lot. Hope you (or anyone else) can help me with this too

Feature Request: Javascript libraries of which the versions are in better control

This essentially aimed at the developpers:
Anyone who browsed with noscript, or used ghostery, knows the web is full of javascript. These are often downloaded from separate websites.(for no apparent reason, they can easily be hosted locally) This is a bad thing:
* Accessing these gives the the http-referrer(presumably) so it indicates someone where you are browsing.(though other resources do this too)
* Javascript is nowhere as secure as html in terms of potential weaknesses.
* Javascript is -plainly- designed to have access to the web page, or the current url.
* These are often accessed via http, it could be spoofed to return a different
* The servers it came from can outright change it at any point, and the user has little control, even if the javascript source code unobfuscated, there is no time to do so as it is in the hands of the users immediately.
For this reason i suggest implementing a library(package system) for these javascripts, of which the packages are signed, and the user controls when they are updated. It should be easy to use and add these libraries for developpers, preferably, additional people can attest they read the source code and approve of it.
Well, to be honest, i cannot really suggest entirely how to do it, i just dont know enough. And it has to be entirely transparent to users, at least. Some kind system that detects that people have checked the source code, and/or a default time duration.(depending on the package)
Of course this has to be coordinated with other browsers/standards creation. This sounds hard and it seems like you're already doing a really good job at it.(And at developping FF in general)

Hi Jasper, to give a specific example, if Firefox were to find a site using a particular version of jQuery then it would instead use a pre-validated copy of that library from a trusted site or from the Firefox program folder?
I think this would be a complex project, but perhaps an extension developer would consider building it, at least to demonstrate how it could be done?
