Which EM files need to be copied ?

Hi,
In order to start the dbconsole on another server to access the same database, I copied the folowing files:
$ORACLE_HOME/<hostname>_<ORACLE_SID>
$ORACLE_HOME/oc4j/j2ee/OC4J_DBConsole_<hostname>_<ORACLE_SID>
$ORACLE_HOME/install/portlist.ini
So far, it works...
Do you know any other files that I should copy as well ?
Thanks
JD
Why am I doing this ?
- I'm on a SUN Cluster passive/active 2-servers system
- server1 accesses database D while server2 is not used (the oracle instance and EM console run on this server)
- if server1 dies, then server2 starts Oracle instance for database D and become the active node
- The EM repository was created in server1 (and SYSMAN was created in the database)
- the repository does not exist in server2 (the files mentioned above)
- I can't create the repository when I'm on server2 because SYSMAN already exists in the database
- Therefore, when the cluster switch from server1 to server2, I just copy these files so that "emctl start dbconsole" work on server2...
- I do exactly the same when I switch back to server1
- I can't create an OMS server, we're not using RAC nor DataGuard....

All you need is the copy of the folder with your machinename_sid over the next folder. The files in the $ORACLE_HOME/sysman/config are the generic files. You need the files and folder that contains the information of the configured EM on server 1. So copy that to server 2 and issue , emctl start/stop/status dbconsole.
That said, you mentioned that Symans already exists over the server 2,this means that there is already some repository available. What is it for ?

  • Which template files need to be uploaded?

I have completed my web pages and want to upload to my host site.  I am confused as to which files must be uploaded.  I created a home page using a template, designated the areas to edit/not edit and created several other pages using the original page.  The original page is saved in the template folder as "default.dwt" and along the way I also ended up with a 'default.html" plus the other template-based pages saved as ".html".  The CSS code is external.  My question is do I upload the .dwt file and if so, should it be the home page?  Or is the appropriate code based in each html page and the .dwt file is not needed.  I don't recall seeing pages with a .dwt extension when I am surfing the web so thought perhaps the home page should be .html but wasn't sure if the .dwt page needs to be on-site to allow all the pages to work correctly.  Thanks for any help you can give me.

    Site structure:
Root folder (holds all site files)
index.html     NOT a template, this is the page that opens first when your url is entered, often called the "home page"
         otherfile.html
         otherfile2.html
         images folder
              all images reside here
         Templates folder
              all Templates reside here
         SpryAssets folder
all Spry assets (js and css files)
         css folder
              other css files reside here
Technically speaking, the Template (.dwt) file is a construction implement, not a display implement...you need it to build pages and to update the locked areas of pages based on it, but you do not SEE it when you look at a website. Keep your Templates within the site structure, for safekeeping, both online and on your local system. That way, if you have a failure on your local system, you will still have your pages and Templates available online for download.
Speaking generally, presentation site pages are html, shtml, php, asp, etc., etc., but not dwt. You will find it helpful to name your files (no word spaces in file names, please) with meaningful names (not page1.html, or default.html, but contact_us.html, about_us.html, etc.)
The Template file's first 'order of business' is to protect from inadvertent disaster the content that is repeated on multiple pages. You have set up such a Template, allowing editable areas. As you have seen, content in these editable areas may be different on every page, but such content is not contained in the Template.
The Template file's 'second order of business' is to make it possible for you to easily alter those portions of pages that remain identical...those portions that are within the protected areas. Change the Template, save the revised Template, and the changes propagate to all the pages you based on the Template. All at once. Unique content is not changed, just the protected content, when a Template is updated. Then, the revised pages (all of them) are synchronized with your online site, and updated pages are uploaded to the server.
    Voila, the beauty of Templates.

  • What Keychain files need to be copied into Snow Leopard?

ere's no reason to do an E&I, it's wasted effort. Macs aren't windoze-based PCs. Just ensure that you have a bootable, external HD (preferably FireWire, since it's 40-50% faster than USB 2 and designed for data transfers), with a bootable backup/clone before updating/upgrading, and ensure that it's bootable and works like the original or one restored from a Time Machine backupl. That allows you to revert to the previous good state without having to reinstall anything. See these for details:

  • SAP data extraction mapping, where the JCO files need to be copied?

    Hi All,
    I have the following environment.
    OWB client: Windows7
    OWB server: Linux x86_64
    SAP Server: Windows Server 2003
I need to create OWB mapping to extract data from SAP to Oracle target.
Please let me know what are the JCO files required and where do i need to copy them?
Do i need to copy them on both the owb client and server or is it enough to copy them on the client machine alone?
    Thanks and Regards,
    Pnreddy.

OWB client isn't supported on Windows 64-bit, just wanted to let you know since you mentioned Windows 7..
For the windows you will require 3 files sapjcorfc.dll, librfc32.dll and sapjco.jar. You can get them from the SAP install cd or download them from http://service.sap.com/connectors for your SAP version. You will need to have a SAPnet account to do that.
You can place the files sapjcorfc.dll and sapjco.jar in OWB_HOME\owb\lib\int, and librfc32.dll in OWB_HOME\owb\bin and also set the PATH to reference this directories.
For linux you will need librfcccm.so, libsapjcorfc.so and sapjco.jar. Also set the LD_LIBRARY_PATH to reference these files locations.
If you are only extracting metadata from SAP then you need it only on the OWB client but if you plan to execute ABAP programs on the SAP system you will need to set it up on the server side.

    Hi
Shorten the name of ltd file XXHCC_EXT_014_hxczzhxclayt0073.ldt, because you can only have 30 characters for the name.
    Hope this helps!

I am batch processing in PS 2014 (watermark and saving as jpeg from ps file). I get the message for some but not all 'this file needs to be saved as a copy with this option'. And then I have to save it manually. Does anyone know why this happens? (It is just a plain photoshop file, a watermark is added, then save as jpeg - the jpeg is saved to a different folder than the original photoshop file.)  It happens for about 10 of 30/40  files approximately . Thank you, Kathryn

I believe I have figured it out - I need to flatten the image, even though there are no layers except for layer 0, first.

Just answer A to all the questions on your exam.  You'll probably get an A.  Honest.

You have to have a run-time engine installed and you cannot create an exe that is cross-platform. To create an exe for Linux or Mac, you need the Linux or Mac development system and the app builder for each.

  • Running a PC via my Mac. Would I need a second copy of Word?

    Hello!
So I am needing to get Windows running on my Mac for a specific PC only App called Nvivo.
I am looking into the Fusion vs Parallel issue which both have their advantages and disadvantages. However, I need to know if I need a second copy of Word (ie a PC version) to read the information from my Mac word files then to be read by Nvivo on the PC side (for the cross-platform pollination to work)?
Does Parallels of Fusion have a feature that makes it so only one copy of word is required? (Sounds like wishful thinking I know!)
    Any help would be appreciated.
    Thanks!

    Hi,
all Word versions are Operating System - dependent.
An OSX Word won't work when running WIndows and vice versa.
But maybe the free OpenOffice will suffice for your needs in Windows.

  • How to find out which archived logs needed to recover a hot backup?

    I'm using Oracle 11gR2 (11.2.0.1.0).
I have backed up a database when it is online using the following backup script through RMAN
    connect target /
    run {
    allocate channel d1 type disk;
    backup
    incremental level=0 cumulative
    filesperset 4
    format '/san/u01/app/backup/DB_%d_%T_%u_%c.rman'
    database
}The backup set contains the backup of datafiles and control file. I have copied all the backup pieces to another server where I will restore/recover the database but I don't know which archived logs are needed in order to restore/recover the database to a consistent state.
I have not deleted any archived log.
How can I find out which archived logs are needed to recover the hot backup to a consistent state? Can this be done by querying V$BACKUP_DATAFILE and V$ARCHIVED_LOG? If yes, which columns should I query?
    Thanks for any help.

    A few ways :
1a. Get the timestamps when the BACKUP ... DATABASE began and ended.
1b. Review the alert.log of the database that was backed up.
1c. From the alert.log identify the first Archivelog that was generated after the begin of the BACKUP ... DATABASE and the first Archivelog that was generated after the end of the BACKUP .. DATABASE.
1d. These (from 1c) are the minimal Archivelogs that you need to RECOVER with. You can choose to apply additional Archivelogs that were generated at the source database to contininue to "roll-forward"
2a. Do a RESTORE DATABASE alone.
2b. Query V$DATAFILE on the restored database for the lowest CHECKPOINT_CHANGE# and CHECKPOINT_TIME. Also query for the highest CHECKPOINT_CHANGE# and CHECKPOINT_TIME.
2c. Go back to the source database and query V$ARCHIVED_LOG (FIRST_CHANGE#) to identify the first Archivelog that has a higher SCN (FIRST_CHANGE#) than the lowest CHECKPOINT_CHANGE# from 2b above. Also query for the first Archivelog that has a higher SCN (FIRST_CHANGE#) than the highest CHECKPOINT_CHANGE# from 2b above.
2d. These (from 2c) are the minimal Archivelogs that you need to RECOVER with.
(why do you need to query V$ARCHIVED_LOG at the source ? If RESTORE a controlfile backup that was generated after the first Archivelog switch after the end of the BACKUP ... DATABASE, you would be able to query V$ARCHIVED_LOG at the restored database as well. That is why it is important to force an archivelog (log switch) after a BACKUP ... DATABASE and then backup the controlfile after this -- i.e. last. That way, the controlfile that you have restored to the new server has all the information needed).
    3. RESTORE DATABASE PREVIEW in RMAN if you have the archivelogs and subsequent controlfile in the backup itself !

  • What files need to be on the SD card??

I had to erase (moved them to my hard disk) the original files on the SD card to update the OS and get my 500 working, which I finally got to work. I then installed maps from the cd to the SD card and copied back the files that were originally on the SD card. Now the unit complains that it can't find an SD with the maps. Can anybody tell me what files need to be in what folders on the SD card?? TIA!!!

I'm having the exact same problem. Also, because there is an apparent problem with the updater now locking up and crashing, it's even more of a problem. Anyone have a fix on either the 500 not finding the navigator program on the SD because of erasure or the uploader crash issue?
    Thanks

  • Which jar file to include for oracle.jdeveloper.webservices.runtime.Wrapped

I am trying to make a Web Service client on my jakarta tomcat server....
I used JDeveloper for generating my client .java file but i dont know which jar to include for oracle.jdeveloper.webservices.runtime.WrappedDocLiteralStub.
Somebody pls tell me which jar file i need to copy for this thing to run successfully .... thx

    Hi,
After compatibility problems between stub generated with JDeveloper 10.1.3 and Oracle Application Server 10g (9.0.4), i decide to downgrade the project to JDeveloper 10.1.2, then more problems... the wsdl wich JDeveloper 10.1.3 accept perfectlly was not so well interpreted by JDev 10.1.2, and i have to do some adjustments on wsdl, then the code generated didn´t format well the soap message (namespaces).....and i made my self some code at the stub class....uffff.
Now I have the java.lang.NoClassDefFoundError: oracle/jdeveloper/webservices/runtime/WrappedDocLiteralStub when the application run´s at the Application Server, and yes i include the jdev-rt.jar (included on 'JDeveloper Runtime' library)
Any clues (changing the technology is not an option ...for now)?
    Thank´s

  • In which may I am able to copy my office docs from my mac book pro to my ipad?

In which may I am able to copy my office docs from my mac book pro to my ipad?

You can copy word, excel, and powerpoint documents to the iPad, but first you need one or more apps on the iPad that support those document types - unlike a 'normal' computer the iPad doesn't have a file system, and everything on it has to be associated with an app.
    The options include :
Apple's Pages app for Word docs : http://itunes.apple.com/us/app/pages/id361309726?mt=8
Numbers for Excel spreadhsheets : http://itunes.apple.com/us/app/pages/id361309726?mt=8
