Execute Teststand as windows-user: which files needed for write-access

Hello,
which files/directories do i have to set for write access?
Normally windows-administrator can access everything.
But a windows-user has for example no write-acces to teststand\Cfg.
So sometimes i get the error-message that a file is write protected.
Is this somewhere explained in the TS-documentation that also a windows-user need write-access? I have this question from a client and i am not sure how exactly it is.

With TestStand 4.1 and later, we changed the directories for the TestStand Cfg folder and the TestStand Public folder (formerly called the TestStand Users Directory). These changes allow a normal Windows-User to write to the TestStand Cfg and Public folders without having to specifically grant write permissions.

I think you dont require any Function Module as such.
If you input file is text file, first convert the text file in XML file using File content conversion.
Once you have a done that,
Define a message type
1. for source file.
2. for target file
3. for target file2 (for storing all your credit, debit all the other data)
you can map all the details from source file to the required target files
Now how you are going to generate both the files...
This can be achieved using <b>enhanced determination</b>, use 2 receiver communication channel.

Need help creating function

I'm having a real tough time trying to figure out a function
for a dynamic text box. What I am trying to do is have a function
to
call 2 random numbers to a dynamic text box. But the numbers
would be in the form of a question(which I am guessing would have
to be a string value) and then have button that would remove that
question and display a new question.
So, lets say I have this on frame 1 with a button that would
generate the fuction to a dynamic text box on frame 2.

I need the dynamic text box to display the numbers as a

question and display a new question.
I know I would need to call the function to generate a new
question but I'm not sure what code to use
to remove the displaying question.
Also, how would I create a counter to keep track of how many
questions are asked, that would add up to 10 questions.
Any suggestions or advice would be very appreciated.

calc the numbers. The vars in my first post are the actual vars in
my script. I'll just display my code here so you can see what I'm
trying to do because I'm not sure how I would incorporate your
code. One more thing, I need to use these particular vars for this
project.

In my company I have access to SYSTEM user(i.e. having all required permissions) ,I wish to create new " USER(s) " for trainees thus which "System privilege" or other privileges is/are needed for the following requirements -
1>To allow the "new user" to create new Packages(and the columnar views inside it and be able to execute,edit them)
2>Create Procedures inside their schema and execute using "call " command
I have given the following privileges as suggested by an ebook (SAP certified author).
The SELECT privilege on the _SYS_BI schema
The SELECT privilege on the _SYS_REPO schema
The EXECUTE privilege on the REPOSITORY_REST procedure
According to my knowledge "create schema" should be given for new schema creation.For my other requirements which all privileges are needed.

In addition to Krishna if you don't want to expose all the package to the trainee, then create a new role keeping everything same as default MODELING role (open it and have a look) but in "PACKAGE PRIVILEGES" add only those package that you want to expose to the end users.

Need to close PR item for which no need to create PO

Dear Experts,
Could anyone please help me ... Some PR have several items. There are many PRs in my system for which partial line items are adopted to PO and for some items no PO will be created. When users get PR Open list they found that there are many PRs with some item (line item) for which no PO is so far crated. If user want to close the PR so that PO creator can not get that PR as open... what should PR creator do. Is there any flag to be updated in PR to close the PR?

Hi Zusen,
You have 2 options:
1. Do a LSMW recording with ME53 t-code & then upload the requisition nos. which you want to close.
2. Check in ME57 by changing the layout, you should be able to close from here. (I have not done it, but do understand that it can be done, so please check).
To download all open purchase requisitions, you can use the table EBAN.
If any additional info is required please do revert.
Note: You cannot use MEMASSRQ as the field EBAN-EBAKZ is not there.

Which files need installation for Photoshop and Premiere Elements 9

In the list of files for download for the Photoshop and Premiere Elements 9 Plus package that I just purchased,
(Windows 7) there is a single "Premiere Content ALL" file of ~4.2GB. There are also 6 files called "Premiere
Content 1" (and 2 2nd 3), and "Premiere Content 1 HD" (and 2 and 3).
After smooth installs of the PSE and PRE programs proper, in doing the install of the "Premiere Content ALL"
file, it seems like the "Content 1-3 and 1-3 HD" files were included in it (judging by the file nmes flashing on
the screen during the install, and in poking around in the install directory).
What I would like to know is: are the 6 Content 1-3 and 1-3 HD file included in the Content ALL file, and if so,
are they at the same revision level as what's in the Content ALL file.
I don't want to just try installing the individual Content files over the ALL file install, as that might well screw
something or other up.
I tried getting an answer to this on the phone with Adobe support, but could not get an unambiguous answer
from either of the two support people I spoke to.
Any help would be appreciated.

Thanks for the reply.   The real question though was/is are ALL the files contained in the 6 separate content archive files
(Content 1, Content 2, Content 3, Content HD 1, Content HD 2, and Content HD 3) also contained in the single archive
file called Content ALL?
Since I was unable to get a definitive answer to that question, I went ahead and downloaded all 7 of the Content archive
files, extracted all of the archived files in the *.7z files and compared the timestamps and sizes of the files in the 6 individual archives to the timestamps and sizes of the files from the "ALL" archive.   The files within the 6 archives matched those
in the ALL archive.
And since the sizes of all 7 *.exe files are identical, I suspect they are all the same and simply invoke an unarchiver
for their respective 7z file, using their own filename as the argument to the builtin program.
The overall result is that I have verified to my own satisfaction that the contents of the 6 individual Content XX files
*are* contained within the single Content ALL file.
It would have been NICE if Adobe had bothered to TELL their customers that, so they wouldn't spend twice the time in
downloading 6 unnecessary files which in reality just duplicate the ALL file.   Plus in my case, spending an hour or
two verifying that the contents of the 6 files were also in the ALL file.   Sheesh.

Ps CS5 - Runtime error - which files need to be deleted ? - if thats the fix

So I just went thru all this with Adobe Premiere, and now I will have to go thru it with Ps5. I am getting the run time error in my Ps CS 5 version 12.0.4 x64 , running on a PC window 7.
The program crashes immediately upon opening. With premier I had to go in and delete a preferences file, and then it worked again (Thanks to A.T. Romano for the fix) but I lost any
projects that were in the works. Anyone know how to fix the photoshop problem? And is it likely I will be going thru this with my Lightroom 3 as well?

Step1-Create a table structure which you need to create same as the fields you require in you data source.
Step 2-create a custom abap program and inside that call the Client abap program with the selections as required and save the result data in some table
Step 3-create infoset query.In the infoset query give your table structure name and program name which you developed.

Need to create a Z transaction for SE16

Hi All,
I have a requirement in which I need to create a Z transaction for SE16 and then restrict the access of that transaction to 3 tables and users cannot see other tables through this transaction. it would be fine even if this condition can be implemented on standard transaction(in SE16 with out creating a Z with the help of basis team).
I tried to copy the transaction and also the program (program name: SAPLSETB and screen 230 even this program is made a Z program)
but this is giving a short dump.
Please let me know if the process i am following is correct if not can you please suggest me a better one.

Hi,
You have correctly identified.
To achieve the filter on HDREN_DT, you can declare an exit variable & write the code behind. But here I'd suggest implementing logic like Date greater than or equal to System date (instead of removing dates less than System date as it will improve the querying.
For the 2 CKFs, you can try the formula variable concept.

ok, what you're learning right now is 101 unix, which is good. Unix is a good thing
now: the way unix works, and macos (which uses unix underneath) the files and folders work like a hierarchy.
the start of that tree is /
so, if you were to do:
cd /
(cd means change directory)
it will bring you at the highest branch of the file system.
cd /Users
will bring you to where all the users are.
to see whats in /Users you can use your friend ls command
ls means list files/directories
so:
cd /Users
ls -la
(the -la here means show all (even hidden) and long format (very verbose)) this flag is very optional.
you will see
fred
user2
for example.
if you want to see the desktop of user2 you would change directory to it then list the files.
for example:
cd /Users/user2/Desktop
Note that the files and directory are case sensitive, so, desktop is NOT the same as Desktop, or DESKTOP
ls -la
you should then be able to see everything in users2 desktop
you could have done as well the same thing in smaller steps, for example:
cd /
cd Users
cd user2
cd Desktop
this is the equivalent of cd /Users/user2/Desktop
So, for your file, i don't know where it was, but know that if you log in as user2, it will directly put you in
/Users/user2
which most likely the file you had created from the other user was in /Users/user1
if you copied all the files from /Users/original_user to /Users/secondUser
most likely yes, all your mail, bookmarks etc would be copied over.
so in your case.
sudo chown -R seconduser:staff /Users/secondUser
should work
Remember that if you start a path with the character / it means start from the root of the file system, at the highest top you can ever get.
so
cd /Users/fred
is not the same as
cd Users/fred
unless you were in / already
i know it may be confusing at first but it's actually very logical if you play with it.
to simplify, think of it that / means C:\ on windows
you can't go any higher than C:\ (in a way)
if you're unsure which directory you're currently in, you can always type:
pwd
it will tell you where you are.
for example:
cd /
pwd
this shows /
cd Users
pwd
this now shows /Users
cd /System/Library
pwd will show /System/Library
cd /
cd /Users
cd fred
cd Library
pwd will show /Users/fred/Library
unix can look very scary but it's actually vital and very necessary to do tasks sometimes that would take for ever to do via the windows. This is good learning.
so for the myfile you had created, i can't tell you where it is, at the time you created, if you can do a pwd command you'll know the path,
ls -la (this shows all the files where you are)
if you see myfile in the list
do a pwd
whatever is return, the real location of the file would be:
whatever pwd returned / myfile
I hope that makes sense.

The answer to your question is no, you do not need to create a DSN to connect to Oracle. The Oracle thin driver is all that is required. Your code looks OK to me, I'm assuming that you xxx'd out the IP, and that you are using a real IP in the actual code.
The message you got back is pretty generic, but can indicate that the Oracle database listener isn't available. Perhaps the database is on a different port, or perhaps the listerner isn't running. Perhaps you have the IP address wrong.
So, to be very basic:
1) Can you ping the server you are trying to connect to? This makes sure you are using a valid IP address.
2) Can you connect to the Oracle server from an Oracle client? This makes sure the listener is running properly, and that you know the correct port number and login information (The port number could be in a local or server based TNS file, or available through an Oracle names server. You might try using the program tnsping if it is available on the client for validation.
3) If you can do 1 and 2, then be sure you are using the same connection parameters (server, port userid and password) that worked with 2.
4) Verify that you are using (pointing to) the correct set of Oracle classes for the thin connection. This can be tricky if you have different versions of Oracle on the client then on the server, but is documented on the Oracle website.
5) If everything checks out, you might want to verify that you are using the most recent versions of the thin drivers, including the Oracle patches.
